Preview images are too small - can't be changed.

When I open some jpegs, I only see very tiny versions of the images in Preview. It's really disconcerting. I know that they are larger - I've downloaded them from the web, saved them on the desktop or in a folder, and then when I double click and open them, they view at far, far smaller than the pixel width and height.
Even when I select "Actual Size" in View, they remain just as small. And then when I click the + button to enlarge the image, it simply blows it up, pixellated.
It seems really crazy and buggy to me. I've never had this problem before, and I've been using mac for years. Any clues / fixes?

Look in you LabVIEW.ini for any font related lines.

  • Upoading files file images are too small to see on file upload screen

Upon wanting to send photos or files via email when i come to the file upload screen the images are very small and almost impossible to see.this is affecting both safari and firefox.how can i make the images larger so i can see what files i am actually uploading?

    Hi,
I am not sure I was clear enough. (EDIT Some testing before finally posting this does show some strangeness)
I was suggesting that in the View Options bit you set the Size to what you want (Before using the Upload site) so that when (and If) you change the View in the Pop Up screen to Icon View the icons are big enough. (See note below though)
List and Column views do show very small Icons that cannot be changed in size, hence the need to use the Icon view and possibly a Naming convention that helps if the pics are very similar like the pic I posted (a whole series of iChat Preferences pics) or possibly deciding before Uploading and creating a sub folder of just the ones to be uploaded.
NOTE:- However I also checked if I set the Icon View in the Finder first to 128 X 128 and then used Google Mail to Add an Attachment the Pop up, view as it were, keeps to the size in the pic I posted.
I will also try Quitting Firefox just in case it is holding some old info.
    I will also try Safari
    EDIT 2
Tried Safari and the Icons are a default size it seems.
Zoom Only makes the selection (of Pics) window bigger/full screen, hiding the Browser (Alt Key and Zoom reduces it again).
Also tried setting the View Options at the Desktop Level (Have yet to use it as the Default)

  • Fireworks CS-4 Slideshow images are too small. How can I fix this?

I've used the Fireworks CS-4 slideshow, for the Portfolio page of my website, for awhile now. However, more recently, after I've added new images to my slideshow, and previewed the slideshow in my browser, all the images are showing up way too small in the viewing area (slightly larger than thumbnail size). This was not happening before. I am running Windows 7 Pro on a 64 bit machine. Originally, I was running Vista Home Premium. Have not "put" the updated slideshow until issue is resolved. What may be causing the smaller images? What can I do to fix the problem? I'm a wysiwyg designer; not a techy. Thanks.

Here is a screenshot of what is loading....
    I can't even get add-ons or extensions.

  • Exported images are too small

I shoot in raw and when I export images to photo labs the size is too small. Instead of mb, the size is reduces to kb.  I have export set for tiff 16 bit.  What am I doing wrong?

    Can't say without more information.
What command are you using to export?
What Export Preset are you selecting?
What are the settings in your selected Export Preset?
Presets and settings are listed at "Aperture→Presets→Image Export ...".

  • UI font size in dreamweaver is too small - can it be changed?

    Hi,
I just purchased Dreamweaver CS6 and found to my dismay that the UI font sizes are so small that I need a magnifying glass to read them. At least they give the option for larger UI font sizes in Photoshop, but not in dreamweaver - as far as I can see.
This was one of the reasons I abandoned dreamweaver after version 8 (Macromedia).
Adobe really needs to sort this problem out for different screen sizes and accessibility. Even freeware authors get it right.

I agree, but it is not only DW that is a problem, most of the applications that I use, including this forum, have the same problem.
My solution, I wear a pair of IT-glasses, sort of like reading glasses that have been further refined for the screen.
My solution prior to that is as follows
    Right-click on the desktop
    Select "Screen Resolution"
In the Screen Resolution dialog, there are 3 options in the lower center.
Click "Make text and other items larger or smaller"
Chose one of the 3 pre-set sizes <OR>
In the left column, click "Set Custom text size (DPI)"
Then scale the ruler until the text size suits your needs.
This had the unfortunate consequence of reducing the workspace, hence my glasses.

  • Font Size from Desktop 4.1 to 4.1.4 is Too Small--can it be changed.

I notice that when I upgraded from Desktop 4.1 to Desktop 4.1.4 that the font size for memos, calendar, contacts, .etc is considerably smaller than it was in DT 4.1.
I've seen some posts here that seem to suggest that there is NO way to change the font size of Palm Desktop for the Palm III class of PDA's.
I suppose Palm thought they were doing us a favor by decreasing the font size and allowing more viewable text on screen BUT actually it's just another source of eye strain.
Anyone found a work around for this before I roll back to Desktop 4.1?--'cause I'm sure not about to change my system default font size or resolution to accommodate this new "feature".
    Post relates to: Palm IIIxe

Run Palm Desktop software and enjoy the new legible font size!

      2) I tested this on monitors using resolutions of 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768
The font size is noticeably readable and much, much better
      3) You may also change the font family from the default (Arial) to another, such as Verdana, etc.
FontCard    (Changes the font family in the side panels)
FontGeneral    (Changes the font family for most of the program fonts)

    Hello All,
We have a background job which is getting canceled saying Roll area too small
can any 1 of you please explain what exciatly it means.

    Hi Ravi,
This is related to Memory Allocation Sequence for all Work Process Types.
Please check the roll area parameters in your system. If the size allocated to roll area is low then background jobs will not finish successflly.
Please check the all other parameters also related to Memory Allocation.
ztta/roll_first: Defines the first part of the roll area that is allocated to dialog process
ztta/roll_area: Defines the total roll area per work process
rdisp/roll_SHM: Defines the size of the roll buffer

    Hello Guys,
After installing Linux Redhat 6.3 on Hyper I receive this message at boot of the Linux virtual machine:

    Hi Michael,
Thank you for your answer. Just in case you need them, please find below the information you requested in your previous post.
    What version of Hyper-V are you running? (2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2):
    Answer: Core Windows 2008 R2 Hyper V
How much memory is configured in the VM?:
    Answer: 16Gb
    And how many vCPUs?
    Answer: 4
How did you install RHEL 6.3? From the installation ISO? Or by copying a VHD that already had RHEL 6.3 in it?:
    Answer:  From ISO
If from the RHEL 6.3 ISO, then the Linux Integration Services (LIS) are not already installed. If from a cloned VHD, then the LIS might already be installed. So what I'm really wanting to know is if the LIS is installed.
Answer: Yes, I installed the LIS v3.4 after the RHEL 6.3 installation
Thank you again for your assistance.

I've just bought a Macbook Pro 15" and I'm trying to use Photoshop, but the resolution its displaying the images at for 100% are too small. I have to design for the web, so need to be intricate with detail, but I'm finding it adjusts the resolution of the image right down. (I mean you can see the image clearly, but it's too small to edit). When I look at Safari and see a web page at 100% it's clear, but the same page displayed in Photoshop CC appears 50% of the size (even though it says it's 100%)   If I move the application window to another screen it adjusts it correctly  – leaving all the pallettes, menus and tools correctly sized as they are on the retina display   Is there some way to adjust the way Photoshop CC displays images so it is more consistent with what you actually see?   There doesn't seem to be any answer on the Adobe forum, so hopefully someone here can shed some light.  MacBook Pro with Retina display, 15", OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Photoshop CC 2014

I tested both ways. With "open in low resolution" ckecked the size of the images is cool, but it is low-resolution including Photoshop appearance.
If "open in low resolution" is unckecked the appearance is good but the very small size.
See the image below. It has 650 x 732 px, 72 dpi. The font of the text "Neste aniversário ..." is with 18pt.

I posted this before and got some feedback and tried everything but it is not fixing the problem! I rewarded points to all the answers. I had basis increase roll area size, optimized code and did everything I can but I am still getting the same error "roll area too small". Same program works in 4.6C but in ECC6.0 I get this error! I have other programs that generates more than 10,000 pages in the spool but the program I am working on creates only 7700 pages! I  am not sure what else is changed in ECC6.0! Could someone please give me any ideas? rewards assured.
    thanks.

Even i think increasing the roll area should have helped
Are both the systems WIndows based  or is one unix based ?
    see this

and search for "roll area too small" in the list of links
    it may help
    Also,
in this solution, it says to use 'field groups'

Make at least two complete backups of all your data. Boot from another drive and partition this one as desired. Restore the data.

  • How can I sort my photos by size?  I need to get rid of those which are too small to print.

Is there a way to sort individual photos in iphoto by size.  (I know you can sort photos in finder- picture by size, but mine are in iphoto). I am organizing my thousands of photos into files within iphoto in order to print hundreds.  I am finding that many are too small to ever print (20-30kb) , and would like to delete those en masse rather than waste time sorting them, but cannot find a way to do that.  Does anyone know if there is a way?  It would be a terribly useful function.  Also, sorting by size would enable you to resize photos that take massage amounts of room unneccesarily.  Thanks for any info.

No there is no way to do this.
Also, sorting by size would enable you to resize photos that take massage amounts of room unneccesarily.
No it wouldn't. There's no way to change the filesize in iPhoto, it always preserves the original file.

  • No cursor on any website, and boxes are too small to type username and password. Example I can't type username and password for yahoo e-mail

Example of no cursor. Any website, such as youtube, there is no cursor in the box, and there are no letters when I type, but the system recognizes what I type. As for e-mail, hotmail works o.k., but with yahoo the boxes for username and password are too small, there is no cursor and I can't type anything. With gmail, there is no cursor, but I can type my username and password.

The only way to increase the fonts on your desktop would be system wide by going down a notch on the resolution. Some people won't do it because it increases the pixel size so the fonts won't be quite as sharp; I decided I'd rather have that than having to squint continuously. Go to System Preferences > Displays > Scaled > this will give you all resolution options available. No harm in trying - just check the default (top) choice again if you don't like any of the others.
It's a b*&^ch getting old .  I still use the screen zoom instead of decreasing resolution, but maybe soon ...
