Preview img display/manipulation, versions 2.? -10.3.9 to 3.0.9 - 10.4.11

Recently I've upgraded from Mac OS X 10.3.9, to 10.4.11.
And with this upgrade I'm noticing that, where with the 10.3.9 version of "Preview" I'd been able to view a general succession of images - (.... I generally view dated, weather-related "satellite" or other types of graphic images.), sequentially, and in quick order, by merely "clicking along" a "forward" button, ....
.. with and within the newer version attached to 10.4.11, this basic feature of the resource is not in fact available. This, with my being able only instead, to - within it, click on images within its main thumbnail representation side-panel, individually - one after another; .. this, or either otherwise, and with isolating a particular group of images, run these within its main "slideshow" feature.
With this, and with my in fact appreciating "other" changes having been made to the newer resource, I'm finding myself wanting to revert to the one older, while also retaining the one I have now.
Two questions, related to these ideas.
Can I in fact have both installed and running (at different times), on my machine. ?
And, Can I install the older version of "Preview", alone and by itself, from my original, older OS version's main install disk. ?

Search for the manual on the european site http://canon-europe.com/ - the versions there (at least for the A1100 IS) do not have the annoying COPY watermark.

How to display large versions of thumbs in a scrolling gallery?

Figured out my original question (different thread title)!
Since I can't delete my post I might as well ask if anyone knows of
a good tutorial for making a scrolling gallery display enlarged
versions of the thumbs.

Everything works perfect when I run the SWF file from
Windows. My gallery scrolls and when I click on the thumbs
(buttons) a larger version shows up in the space I placed the
loader just as I want. Great!
However....when I insert the file into a webpage (using DW
Insert>Media>Flash) and then preview it in a browser, the
thumbnail scroller loads and works fine, BUT when I click on the
thumbs (the cursor does change to a hand and the over state
appears) the external Jpegs don't load! I've copied and pasted the
images in multiple locations to make sure that's not the issue.
Any ideas??

Problems conncecting my 20" cinema display (Previous Version) to a PC

Problem description:
Originally, a 23" cinema display (Previous version as well) was connected to my PC via DVI to ADC adapter. This morning, I tried to connect the 20"(Previous Version) to the same PC, it wouldn't power itself up~~~ After turned the PC off, and switched back to the 23", I turned on the PC, everything worked just fine again. While everything was still up and running, I unconnected the 23", and hooked the 20" into the adapter, now the 20" started to work.
This is a really weird problem to have and PLEASE PLEASE help me with this. Thank you guys SO SO SO much!

I'm using a FX5500 low profile PCI card installed in the docking station for my IBM T23.
This is just weird~ 23" works fine but not the 20"……

SharePoint 2010 : How to display ALL Version History of a list item's multiline text box in a same list as a list view column?

In SharePoint 2010 , I have version history enabled multiple text box 'issue details'. Users mainly uses Data Sheet view and it does not show all version history of that multiple line text box, is there anyway we can display list view column in
data sheet view to display all version history?
2) If we can not display in datasheet view, in standard view, it should display all version history instead of just a link to -view all entries'

Adobe PDF Portfolio - Preview Mode Displaying Incorrect Pages

I have created a PDF portfolio using the “Grid” template in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. The Portfolio contains three pdf files. I am getting the following problem when I open the pdf Portfolio in Adobe Reader X and XI and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.
Open the PDF portfolio
Click on pdf3
Preview mode displays the correct document and pages.
Close the preview of pdf3
Click on pdf2
Preview mode displays pages from pdf3,not pdf2 (see screenshot below).
Some observations:
If pdf1 has two pages, and pdf2 has ten pages, pdf2’s preview contains pdf 1 (pages 1-2) and then pdf2 (pages 3-10).
If I continue to open pdfs the preview contains pages from all the pdfs I have opened in the portfolio (this depends on how many pages the document I am currently previewing has). It is not just caching the last pdf opened.
Preview mode always displays the correct NUMBER of pages (i.e., if there are ten pages in a pdf, there will be ten pages in the preview. They will just be the wrong pages).
Turning off local page cache (preferences > page display) does not fix the problem.
Adobe Reader is up-to-date and Flash is up-to-date. I have replicated the problem on different computers, and in Adobe Reader X and XI, and Pro XI. I have also created muliple pdf portfolios from scratch to confirm the pdf portfolio itself wasn't corrupt.
Does anyone have an idea what is happening? Users are getting very confused when their preview shows them a completely different document.

We have the same problem. Everything's up to date. Adobe needs to address this issue!! The portfolio feature is a great idea, but this glitch basically ruins it. If you come by this page with the same problem, make sure you leave a reply. Maybe Adobe will actually pay attention if there are enough complaints.

Why does Preview save as PDF version 1.3 instead of version 1.7 sometimes?

I've noticed something very strange in Mountain Lion when saving a downloaded PDF in Preview. If I download a PDF to my downloads folder and open it in Preview and get info it says it's PDF version 1.7 and it's about 400 kb . If I then "save as" to my folder it saves it as PDF version 1.3 in a much smaller file save 82 kb.
Why is this happening when I use "save as" rather than just dragging and dropping it from my downloads folder to another folder where it keeps it as version 1.7 and 400 kb ?
Why would Preview save it as version 1.3 instead of the latest version of PDF - very odd?

I was sure, but I was wrong. Upon closer inspection, the "%PDF-1.3" you see in the PDF isn't the whole story. The actual version can be specified elsewhere. It seems Mavericks actually generates PDF version 1.4. Of course, that's not much difference, is it?
Generally, I think Apple is aiming for cross-platform support with the widest audience instead of all the advanced features that Adobe wants to throw in. Apple views PDF as legacy print technology. If you need more than what Apple provides, you can always buy Acrobat.
Here is an old marketing flyer from Adobe showing how much more you would get with Acrobat. It is from the Tiger era but you can see there is a whole lot that isn't implemented. But if you bought Acrobat, you would be in the position Apple doesn't want. You would create and send people PDF 1.7 files and they wouldn't be able to read them. What do you do? Tell them to buy Acrobat? It is a common theme here in Apple Support Communities whenever a new OS version arrives. People everywhere suddenly can't print, read PDFs, or do just about anything PDF related. That is because they had previously download Acrobat and it breaks with each OS update.

My preview site displays correctly but my live site changes when I publish it

My issue is that the preview site displays correctly however when I upload this information to the live site, the format changes and displays incorrectly.

Are you creating the site in Muse and publishing it to BC.
If yes, can you go to File > Export as HTML, export the file to a folder on your computer and check it if you are getting same issue.

Display Package version number in HTML?

Hi,
My customer wants to display the version number of the apps/xx package in the HTML.
I'm just wondering if this is a good idea, i.e. the actual package contents could be overwritten, but the package doesn't change.
Also - how could that be achieved? There is a services JSP in the CRX package manager - could that be used?

The subject line & description looks contridactory. I am assuming you are looking for package version, For that You should be able to get using jcr package api [1]. Ex:- vJcrPackageDefinition.getId().getVersionString()

You haven't told us much. Which version? Which particular part is being displayed differently?
I'd guess you are distressed by the composition window. I'd suggest you grit your teeth and bear with it, as there are plans to improve it. What worries me about the discussion between developers is that they all seem to be using Mac computers, with little regard to what it looks like in Windows. The changes I'm thinking about are being done, I'm told, to prepare the way for features that are frequently requested, such as drag and drop of addresses and the ability to stack multiple addresses in one line, a la Outlook.

Cannot create profile for IMG display only access - Timeout

Hello all,
I have created a role for IMG display only role. It has hundreds of Org values and fields. I have made ACTVT=03 in change Authorization
Everything is fine except when i click to create profile, the system does starts processing but its taking hell of a time. It times out since the system has time out after 9000s. Anyway 2 hrs for creating profile..phew!
Is there a way I can create profile?
Alternatively, Is there a simpler way to create role for IMG display only access?

How are you building your role? It shouldn't be timing out - might be worth having a chat with your basis team.
Alternatively, if you can save the role (but not generate it) you might be able to generate it in the background via transaction SUPC. It's better to understand why you cany create it first though.

NVIDIA Display Driver Version 2.9.4.2

Windows Update for Windows 2000 is listing NVIDIA Display Driver Version 2.9.4.2 under Drivers.
Does anyone know about this version? I am not having any problems with the Nvidia drivers that I downloaded and installed so I have not installed this update.

It is the version that comes with windows and will automatically install if you have a card listed within the reference file.
I usually have to chase it down and delete all the references to that version as XP will continually load that driver without any intervention from the user.

IWork documents will not open in Preview or display with Quicklook

I have recently upgraded to OSX Mavericks and updated to the latest version of iWork (including the fresh installation of Numbers and Pages). However new iWork documents are not are not displaying in Finder with a preview thumbnail, or opening with either Quicklook or Preview. I only see the Pages, Keynote, and Numbers document icons.
The issue is isolated to new iWork documents, as iWork 09 documents still work, as well as most other standard file formats.
I have checked the Quicklook folder my Library, and have the latest 3.0 version of iWork.qlgenerator.
I have tried restarting Finder and Quicklook (in Terminal), as well as restarting the machine. However this has not solved the problem.
It’s not the end of the world, but it is inconvenient.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest a solution?

I don't have any Appleworks files but Numbers & Pages users manuals say they will import Appleworks 6 files. I can't say why yours will not if they are Appleworks 6 documents.
I also don't have MacLinkPlus but it might be doing one of two things: saving in a pre-'97 format of Excel or saving with non-standard header information in the file that Numbers does not understand.
I'm not being of much help so far. I've been looking all over and haven't found a solution for you. Sorry.
