Preview in Explorer 7

Every time I preview a website in Explorer 7 it opens a new
tab. With 6 it stayed in the same window so I only had to ok the
active x control the first time. In 7 since a new tab comes every
preview I have to disable active x everytime. Driving me nuts!
Any suggestions?
Thanks

You can disable the tabbed browsing by going to the tools on
the right and going to internet options and shutting it off. see if
it will open in the same window then

I'm using CS3 on a Mac (OS X) but my audience is all on PC's.
Pages I preview in Firefox or Opera, even Explorer 5.0 for Mac look

Any suggestions on what I'm missing or could do differently,

On a Mac you can tab through a Excel spread sheet - moves horiontally through the sheet. The Return key moves you vertically.
I believe this is the same on Windows ??

  • Adobe Reader – Preview in Windows Explorer – Roaming Profiles

First sorry for my English, my mother tongue Swiss-German
We are running a Citrix server farm on Windows Server 2008R2 SP1. Recently, the request has arisen to view PDF documents in the preview pane of Windows Explorer. Unfortunately I always get the following error message "Adobe Reader - An internal error occurred"
Now I can just start the application “Adobe Reader”, close the application and now the preview works as long as the Citrix session persists. After a logoff / logon the problem occurs again.
The following analyses have been made:
The problem occurs also without Citrix XenApp
The problem has nothing to do either with user rights or GPO. I got the same behaviour when the User has administrator rights, disabled UAC and without any GPO
The problem only occurs when roaming profile are enabled. When the user has a local profile, the problem disappears, although also in this case Adobe Reader must be started once, so that preview in Explorer works
With Windows System State Analyzer Tool I could see, that just a simple start of the application Adobe Reader creates a lot files in the folder c:\Users\%Username%\Local\Adobe. This part of the profiles are lost in roaming profile after logoff.
There is no folder redirection, as I have seen in some discussions in this forum.
Is there a solution for this problem, perhaps a special setting in “Adobe Customization Wizard” or somewhere else?
    Thanks for feedback

The reason you are getting the error is that the prevhost.exe process that is being invoked in the preview pane looks for a folder in the user's local profile, AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0 (or whatever version). We're creating that folder for user's at logon, which solves the issue with the error.

  • Preview not working (F12)

    I've upgraded from 8 to CS3.
    I've updated everything (DW CS3, Flash CS3)
I'm previewing in Explorer 7 (Also updated)
What I'm seeing is everything in html form with a white
background all lined up... just not is css.
What am I doing wrong in this CS3 version?
    Can someone please direct me?

Read about Root Relative links here -
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_13129&sliceId=2
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15546&sliceId=2
When you preview a page containing root relative links, when
    the browser
tries to load the linked files, it sees the "/" that is the
    beginning of the
link and interprets that as the root of the HARD DRIVE, since
    the browser
has no clue about where the root of the DW-defined site is.
    Thus, unless
your site is defined as rooting from the root of the hard
    drive, the link
fails. If you enable preview with temp files, DW obligingly
    builds a
temporary file in which (among other things) the root
    relative links are
changed into document relative links, and then it hands this
    temp file to
the bowser to preview. The links will all work in that case
    FOR THAT PAGE -
you would never want to click away from that temp page,
    though since your
links will fail to work again, and you will become concerned
    that you broke
    something.... 8)

  • How do I preview in different browsers inside of edge?

By default I'm previewing in explorer and I don't see an option to preview in Chrome or Firefox.
    Thank you!

    Hi there,
Short answer is there's no such feature in Edge Animate yet.
EA does a preview in browser using the system default browser. You could install developer tools in your default browser that would allow you to open the current page (the one you're previewing) in another browser, or copy/paste the url into another browser - or wait for such a feature to appear in Edge Animate.

  • Some thoughts on Previews

To provide a little background on why I am thinking about how previews are used in Lr it might help to understand my workflow. I import my raw files, cull the ones I do not want to keep, keyword and add metadata, and tweak in develop. I then export to JPG. I do this because:
    1. I can quickly browse through images in any program I choose. Others in my work environment can do the same as the files are saved on a network.
    2. I can quickly email or FTP the JPGs to others.
    3. I can edit the JPGs in any other program, because all programs can efficiently use JPG.
    4. For 99% of my usage, a high quality JPG works just fine.
Now, it just so happens that Lr is maintaining previews of my images in a proprietary JPG file so that:
    1. It can display images quickly in the library.
    2. It can show the previews even if your images are offline.
Lr has a neat shortcut, where you can print a preview, instead of rendering the raw file, which speeds up the printing process, albeit with a loss in quality. However, if you render 1:1 previews, I have a hard time telling the difference. In other words, one can have the best of both worlds, high speed and high quality.
So, I want to use JPGs for most of my work and Lr can save 1:1 previews. However, I cannot access the previews directly because Lr does not save them as JPGs, even though the preview is in a JPG format (as I understand it). Also, it seems wasteful to have both the previews and exported JPGs.
I would like to be able to bypass my current step of exporting to JPG, and then reimporting the JPG into my library, and just use a 1:1 preview JPG. This would require the following:
    1. Lr save the previews as JPG files.
    2. Provide a "Show preview in explorer".
    3. Provide a "Copy selected previews". This is needed to aggregate a selection of previews, scattered throughout the Lr catalog preview folder structure, to a common folder for other applications to use.
    4. In the catalog settings, provide the same options for JPG quality (0-100) as in the export dialog. I would like to be able to set this separately for the 1:1 rendering (use a high quality) and the standard previews that load first, which could be a much lower quality.
Now, I fully understand that the whole idea of Lr is not to bother with the JPG (or PSD, TIFF) and just work directly in Lr, happily saving all the changes as metadata. This is fine in theory, but as has been discussed here a number of times, breaks down in the real world because Lr does not do everything, and even if it did, someone else will always be providing some capability that is better than Lr. Consequently, at present, at least for me, it makes sense to maintain a "developed" version of the raw files as a JPG.
I realize this is a complex issue and that I may not have thought through all the consequences of this, so I am interesting in any other thoughts on this idea.
    Regards
    Rory

    >Rory, do you have any tricks for how best to arrange the catalog given that you have two of everything? Do you use "Find" to select just JPEGs, etc.?
    Hi Dave
I am currently going through my library and attaching the keyword "PRIME" to the most representative image (usually the JPG) for every image.
When (if) Lr becomes capable of stacking across folders and autostacking works for a 0 difference in capture time, I plan to stack my multiple versions with the PRIME on top.
In the meantime I can filter on PRIME and just see the "final" version of each image and count unique images and so forth.
    Cheers
    Rory

  • Adobe reader file preview type library reference

Where I will may see adobe reader file preview type library reference?

I would guess that this interface is registered and used by Windows to generate previews for Explorer. It is not supported or documented, but if it does that, it won't have anything to do with text extraction.
Adobe Reader has a supported interface for displaying in a window.
For a text extraction API you'd want Acrobat, which would allow you via VBA to run JavaScript to get text quads.
Note that this is not for server use. If you want server text extraction consider Adobe's PDF iFilter. This is unusual in that it is supported but is not in the SDK; Microsoft define the interfaces to iFilters, not Adobe.
If you have further questions about Acrobat or Reader development, I'd recommend that you post in the Acrobat SDK forum, to reach the right experts.

if it's an ASP active server page, you need to set up a local
    testing
    server.

  • Ideapad Yoga 11 with Windows RT - Issues

Got my orange Yoga 11 with Windows RT a few days ago here in the UK, and I have to say that initial impressions are very good. No fan at all, barely gets wam, switches on from connected standby almost instantly, and battery life is really impressive. Build quality seems solid - no peeling paintwork, and keyboard is securely fastened, screen is great quality, there's some backlight bleed on the right side, but only visible when at 100% against a black background (i.e. never). There's a bit more flex and 'give' in the screen than I expected, but nothing I can't live with. Wifi signal is also strong and connections don't drop like others are seeing with the Yoga 13.
So, Windows RT ... still getting used to it, but here are some initial niggles:  there only appears to be one Lenovo RT settings app available in the Store, and it's fairly useless, since all it does is provide a switch to lock/unlock keyboard in different orientations (why?). No Lenovo drivers are available from here either, I guess these all come from Windows Update for the RT model instead?
The problems I'm having stem from not being able to tweak some system & hardware settings properly because of the above and the need to rely on stock driiver configs, specifically:
    - Keyboard: it can be quite sluggish, and doesn't register repeat letters very well (like in 'tell' or 'soon') at my typing speed. I've never experienced this with any keyboard, nevermind a Lenovo one. The stock keyboard config under Control Panel does nothing to help this - changing the two options for Repeat delay/Repeat rate just make it worse. This is quite annoying, as I really have to slow down my typing speed to get any work done. It would currently be my no. 1 reason for returning it, depending on how I get on with it this week.
    - Touchpad: no options are available to configure it that I can find. No tweaking multi-touch, like 2-finger scroll direction (which is reversed from the normal setting). It can also be very sluggish to respond sometimes, especially for pinch to zoom and similar gestures.
    - Bluetooth: allthough I can pair with e.g. Jamboxes fine enough, the connection is dreadful - constantly skipping and dropping out with any audio source, basically unusable.  The Jamboxes work fine with every other device I own. Again no settings I can tweak here beyond the installation options, and no way to debug the problem.
Any help or advice with these niggles would be much appreciated, especially the keyboard issue.

Just to add a few more passing thoughts to this monlogue for anyone who may be thinking of buying this model instead of the 13.
When it comes to Windows RT I'm finding myself more surprised every day by what I *can* rather than *can't* do with it.  Partly this is because I thought it would be something closer to a gimped Android or iOS experience.  Here are some things I didn't really expect to be available or usable, and that compare very well to those other OSes:
    - Remote Desktop (& RemoteApps): this really works very nicely, so far if I need quick access to a non-RT app it's a doddle to remote login to a W7 machine. I was expecting this to be too slow to be practical, but actually it's very smooth, and no need to install a separate app (although the Store has a Metro version to complement the desktop UI).
    - Windows Firewall with Advanced Security: I was expecting something dumbed-down, but this is the fully monty, completely configurable when you need it, otherwise less in your face than with W7. The same goes for Windows Defender, also included as standard.
    - Local Group Policy: I'm still surprised this is included, given that it otherwise only comes with W8 Pro.
    - Bitlocker: encrypts your drive by default OOB, no need to manage it at all.
    - Network browsing & sharing: really it's just a doddle to set up, using HomeGroup or just browsing the local network, access to all your network files OOB without installing any apps.
    - PlayTo: again, painless to set up and use, streaming all your media to DLNA devices.
    - Flash support, works just fine, and easy enough to add 'supported' sites to the list.
    - Explorer / File History / Disk management, really the whole suite is there without sandboxing or more apps needed for handling basic tasks.  So refreshing after iOS especially.
    - Admin tools / Powershell: the list of is impressive - full Task Manager, Event Viewer & Performance Monitor all included - and I was delighted to find Powershell in there too, especially since it's finally integrated into Explorer properly. Such a great, under-rated utility!
    - Media support: although I do miss a desktop media player with previews in Explorer, and better codec management, I was surprised by how quickly devs are stepping up to support different media types. Free apps already support mkvs and the like, and a VLC port is planned. I'm optimistic that this will get better.
So basically, once you get past the point of accepting that you can't install legacy desktop programs or drivers, it's pretty much a solid Windows experience. I think the keyboard & typing speed is now my only major issue ... but I've almost convinced myself I can live with it so probably won't be returning it.
    Thanks for listening.

  • Can't copy photos from iPod touch to Mac

My iPhoto Library was on an external hard drive, which unfortunately my friend accidentally dropped, and it no longer works. Luckily, I have the photos synced to my iPod touch. Unfortunately, I can't get a way to import the photos onto my Mac., I've tried iPhoto, Preview, iPhone Explorer and Pod to Mac (which works, but I need to pay to copy them), but none of them are useful solutions.
Does anyone know of a free application that doesn't require me to jailbreak or buy it that I can use to get my photos from my iPod touch onto my Mac (it can be Windows as well as I have a Windows computer)?

Try this: iPhone / iPod Touch Backup Extractor
See if you can find the folder containing your photos if you extract the backup to a separate folder. The photos will be reduced in size, but that's better than nothing.

  • Printing IE 11 windows 8.1 pro

I have 6 new computes and only one of them is having this issue. I can not print to any printer, or even print to file when trying to print from explorer. ctrl P brings up the print dialog window and I hit print and nothing will print, the printer
does not see the job. If I print from print preview screen explorer will freeze and crash. All other programs work perfectly fine, the issue is with IE 11, and all updates are installed.

    Hi,
According to your description, this maybe not just IE problem, you can make a test if Office had same problem. In addition.
If just IE had the problem, it is probably the printer add-on problem, you can try to disable other adds-on for test. As this problem can be caused by other adds-on disturb printer plugin working.
If other program had same problem, it is probably printer driver problem, please try to reinstall its driver for test.
If no use, please check Event Viewer if it identify this problem.

From which version did you upgrade?
The Illustrator thumbnail preview in Explorer was removed and has been unavailable for a couple of versions now. Apparently, there were issues with Windows that could not be worked around by Adobe.
    Bridge is the answer.
