"Preview" is getting jammed
Everytime I want to add some colour effect to any of my pictures "Preview" software gets stuck and quits. I use the colour tool within the tools' menu.

This is ridiculous, I TRY to update my 8.1 preview and I can only get about 15% through before the two hour limit and the system restarts and I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN.
I LOVE how MICROSOFT is not supplying a solution or giving us the option of a getting a CD or other offline update.Support for Windows 8.1 Preview ended on January 14, 2014. It's time to replace it with the final, released version.

It's always helpful if you mention the model number of the printer.
In general, jams are caused by dirty print rollers, and mis-aligned paper guides.

Firefox doesn't print or open preview, when I select print preview I get the following error: Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.
However, when I print from Safari or another program, I have no problems

where can i get Jam Packs? last time i bought one i got it at the apple store. that was 5 years or so ago. yesterday i went to the apple store and they told me they don't carry them, that i get them at the App Store. so i went on the app store and i cannot find them. running Lion on a Mac Pro desktop (well, i wouldn't call it a "desk"top - takes up half the side of the desk .. hehehe)

How do I get Jam Pack instruments to appear in Garageband 11?
I recently got a new MacBook Pro, purchased Logic Pro X, and downloaded the additional content which includes all the Jam Packs. I got the loops into Garageband by finding the folders and dropping them into the loop browser. However, I'm not sure how to get the Jam Pack instruments into Garageband. I've read about copying from one folder to another and then re-indexing, but I don't know which folders or how to reindex. I've spent hours trying to find the answer. I would very much appreciate your assistance!
GarageBand expects all instruments in the Instruments Library at
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library
The Logic instruments are installed in the corresponding location
/Library/Application Support/Logic/Patches/

Previewing Project -- getting stuck at 25%
my project was working fine, until I added my questions. As
soon as I added my questions, they are in pools, and I went to
preview my project, it gets stuck at 25% when it is trying to allow
me to preview the project. I have tried renaming the file and
re-doing the questions.
I'm STUCK!!

You might wish to check your Flash player version. Just
right-click the movie area as it is "stuck" at the 25% mark. See if
you have Flash 10. If so, that could be the issue. I've seen
several reports here where upgrading to Flash 10 caused an issue
such as yours. If that is the case, I'm afraid that at the moment
the only known workaround is to downgrade to Flash 9.
From what I understand, once things have been published to a
server, they work dandy. Even with Flash 10.

Why doesn't firefox open youtube videos, istead whole server get jam.
Only way to get out is stop process. When open videos sound and music is playing, but video stops after 0-2 second. Then firefox is jammed, nothing works.
Make sure that you allow the plugin-container in the firewall.

Can I get Jam Packs for GarageBand '11 on Snow Leopard?
I have GarageBand '11 (v 6.0.5) on a MacBook 2 with Snow Leopard, and I would like to add Jam Packs. I know I can get them all if I buy MainStage and download them. Unfortunately MainStage is now in version 3.3, which does not run on Snow Leopard. And version 2, which does run on Snow Leopard, is no longer available. (Not supported, I understand. Not available for sale to willing owners of older equipment I don't understand. But I digress.)
I have a Mac Mini which I can upgrade to Mountain Lion, and get MainStage. Can I then move the Jam Packs from the Mini to the MacBook?

I only launched it to be able to access the main menu bar and open the download panel.
I still downloaded these individual instruments but they do not appear in my Garageband loops or anywhere else on my iMac.
Have you rebooted the system after installing the additional content?
You should see additional instruments and loops in the system library (Your Macintosh HD > Library). Have you checked the following folders:
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/ (for the loops)
and
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/
/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments/
Perhaps you need to rebuild the Lopp Index, if you find the loops somewhere and they do not show in GarageBand: Rebuilding the Loop Index in GarageBand
Silly question, but you have checked, if no filters are set in the Inspector, right? The top of the Info Panel should be showing "Show all" and the search filed be empty. -
I have been downloading (Importing) some photos from my camera, using Preview. As I select them to import and hit the button "Import", they are immediately saved on my desktop, rather than just appearing in Preview, wher I normally choose which ones I wish to save. Is there a way I can stop this happening? I am using a iMac intel with OS 10.6.8 and Preview version 5.0.3.
Normally, when I Import, I get a preview window with the images I chose. I dont get a secnt set on my desktop.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am sorry I should have said Image Capture not Previews. The files end up as duplicates on my desktop or in Pictures. I was told by someone that the same thing happens in iPhoto as well as not being able to select which photos to save and that using Image Capture should be better.
My iPhoto is version 8.1.2 and Image Capture is 6.0.1.

Adobe Reader installed? If so remove Reader.
Macintosh HD > Library > Internet Plug-ins
Look for these two files.
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click those and select “Move To Trash”. -
