Preview is very laggy

Hi everyone
First off my system:
Intel core i7 2600@3,4 ghz
8gb ram @1333mhz
GTX560@1gb
win7 64bit
My problem is: Both after effetcs and premiere pro are being very very laggy so that I cannot actually use the software. I'm a former Sony vegas user and the preview was just like a normal video. I clicked play and it played in normal speed. Not in after effects and premiere. After effects even tells me that it's not playing in real time (0,7FPS!!!) The sequence settings are OK, I also changed the preview size to a quarter. What should I do? The rendering prcess also takes ages.
What am I doing wrong?
I am using CS6.

AE requires to produce RAM previews for realtime playback. You simply make the mistake of assuming it would function liek an edit program, which it is not. The rest is too vague - we don't know your comp settings, what footage is involved, what effects and so on. also for your Premiere issues, you might wanan ask in the respective forum.

Flash plays very laggy/slow in firefox.

I have this problem for a while, The Flash player doesn't work in my Firefox browser. It works great in Chrome and IE.
When I log on a site that has flash, the mouse cursor gets really heavy and the flash video is very laggy and slow.
It's not the case on YouTube or any other Video site I try. However if I go to : http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
the flash animation on the top of the page is laggy and slow.
I had recently found out that this is also the case with another application I use: CakePoker (http://cakepoker.com/en/Default.aspx).
It's makes it impossible to play.
I've been trying to fix it for a while, uninstalled and reinstalled several times, with no success.
Help please.

IPad Music Playlist very laggy in iOS 5

I have noticed that when selecting playlists in the new music player of iOS 5 that my iPad 2 music software hangs and is very laggy in trying to scroll down, and when selecting a playlist. Is there a problem with the new software / iOS? Any one else having this issue?

The whole Music (formerly iPod) app seems buggy to me. I rated a bunch of songs on my iPad and the ratings did not sync to iTunes. And I hate the new interface. The screen keeps switching from list view to cover art view when I'm playing music and trying to do the ratings. Ugh!

Recent iOS update has made my iPad 2 unusable. The screen locks up. It's very laggy and web pages do not load correctly. Is there a fix for this or are they even working on a fix.

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Touchscreen became very laggy and unresponsive...

I would like to know, if there is anyone out there who has the same problem as mine?
I owned this Ipod Touch since last November 2008, the first generation Ipod Touch in Malaysia. It was such a great ipod, whereby you can online anywhere at anytime via the WiFi hotspots available. The whole point of me buying the ipod is because it is a superb mp3 player with internet enabled ability. Not to mention the flawless and easy to use touchscreen.
After awhile, recently, the ipod touchscreen somehow became very laggy and sometimes unresponsive, especially when i want to browse through mails. I wasn't sure of whether is it because of the amount of mail i had in my ipod which made it became heavy and unresponsive when i tried to browse through emails. But i am sure it is NOT supposed to be like this, right?
I had to press several times and simultaneously pressing the home/ on-off button to make it awakes. Not sure of whether is there any similarity incident happened to any users? kindly share and advise a way to resolve this from happening.
Deleting the mails couldn't resolve this issue as i had tried with no good result. The lagginess is still there...

try working through the troubleshooting steps listed here:

this will resolve any (and many) software problems that you may have. if that doesn't fix it, it's almost certainly a hardware issue, which will require a trip to apple to get it looked at.

Mac OSX Leopard running very laggy and jerky...

Hi, I remember using panther and I had no issues whatsoever. I recently installed leopard and i started noticing at times it would be laggy or jerky. For example (and this is the only time I see it), when I minimize a window (any window from any program) the animation as it goes down isn't smooth like it used to be. At times its very laggy and jerky. I know its a minor issue compared to other problems but it bothers me tremendously.
Another thing, with time machine. I try to set it up but when I do it wont give me the option to choose the disk to back up my files in. Any help? Please?

Have you tried using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk?
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them.

Why has my cursor become very laggy?

Hi,
For some reason my cursor has become very laggy since getting Delayed Write error messages causing my system to screw-up. I finally reinstalled a new Windows on drive D, my old (not working) Windows is in drive C. Now when I scroll pages on the net or in applications it is very slow to respond and is unstable.
This also complies with moving windows. When I move a window it also becomes very jumpy. My system was fine until I got those error messages ages ago. Is there a way I can fix this?

My problems first started when 'Delayed Write Failed' messages just popped up out of the blue.
When this happened my system was completely unresponsive for 10 minutes, I could only move the cursor. I think after a while my system rebooted itself and a got the blue screen checking my disks for errors.
After waiting for that I logged back in to find that my cursor 'jumps' shortly after several seconds of moving it. What I mean is I can move it fine for like 2 seconds but then it pauses very shortly and quickly resumes, 'leaping' to what ever direction I was moving it in, so I lose where I was pointing it to.
A few login's later and the error message popped up again - totally uncalled for. I was only using a software to edit videos when it popped up again. Well, after this I ended up switching my laptop back on to find 'Windows\System32\Config\System is corrupt or removed press 'r' to begin repair on Recovery Console using your Windows CD'.
I get to the screen and press 'r'. I don't know what to type in to fix my installation of Windows (drive C) so I hit exit and chose 'new installation' instead. It asked me to save my new Windows onto drive C or D. Drive C has everything on it, my pics, music, docs and most importanly drivers and programs - mainly the Toshiba stuff I need. I'm afraid if I chose to install on drive C all the stuff mentioned above would be wiped clean. Thank goodness for drive D then, so D it was.
When Windows finally installed on Drive D, I discovered my cursor was the laggy one as before and now a new problem; scrolling pages; and moving windows. It's very slow to scroll and it's so unstable it takes me to the top or bottom of the page when I move the scroll bar in that direction. Moving windows is very jumpy and unstable too.
So there you go, that's my problem. Thanks for reading.
P.S If someone could tell me how to repair Windows on drive C, I would be most grateful.

Lion very laggy. How to fix it?

Hello.
I have mid 2010 Macbook Pro (2.4ghz core 2 duo, 4GB DDR, nVidia Geforce 320m, Lion 10.7.2) and it has been running perfectly! Then a week ago something happend. Since then almost all animations are very very laggy (almost no animations).

Almost no application running, only Skype and Transmission running, but it doesn't matter it is always like this.
I have tryed some methods to fix that. Like cleaning the caches folder from lybrary and restarting after that, but nothing seems to help :/
There are a lot of similar problems in this and other forums with no solutions so for, I kind of secretly hope someone can help me!

Reinstall Lion, preferably from scratch:
Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

Blue tooth to speaker very laggy and broken up

I received the Laptop 4 days ago and have loaded all the required software. All was working well and my idea was to put the laptop safe and use an external monitor/keyboard and mouse while at home and if away use as a normal laptop. I connected everything up but found out that the screen stopped shen I closed the lid. I sorted this out with the lid actions.
Now I have found that the blue tooth does not work with the lid down, unless I hold the speaker at a strange angle touching the laptop, open the lid 3 inches and hey presto bluetooth working normal. An ideas on a solution ?

I have read your post on how the Bluetooth to speaker is very laggy and broken up on your notebook, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Are you able to get sound from your notebook using headphones with the lid fully closed? Have you been able to connect your notebook to other Bluetooth devices when the lid is down without issue?
In the meantime, to increase the speed and efficiency of your Bluetooth functions I recommend following the steps in this document on Resolving slow system performance (Windows 8), as well as Using Bluetooth Devices (Windows 8).

Motion very very laggy- windowserver using lots of processor

Motion is very laggy- 10-15 second wait to switch between windows within motion. It is the only program affected. istat says windowserver is eating a ton of processor power. Anyone have any ideas?

well some third party add ons and plugins will cause problems with the system. I cannot afford to chance installing anything till I know its sefe. If Piclens is causing the problems you will have to decide whether you want a 3D browsing experience or whether you want to work in Motion. For me its easy if i dont work with motion i dont eat.

Mouse is very laggy while using trackpad, but click and right click are not

This problem started yesterday. While using the trackpad, the mouse became very laggy. I stopped to see if a few minutes would help fix the problem, but the mouse kept moving sporadically. I can click and right click fine and with no lag, but the mouse is either non responsive or extremely laggy. The problem was infrequent at first, but now it is almost constantly there. I'm using a MacBook Pro with Mac OSX version 10.5.8.

Use the Toshiba application installer to reinstall the Touchpad driver.
To find it search your laptop for Toshiba application installer and run it is will download and install all your drivers.

Preview rendering Very Slow

Can anyone help with Preview.app slow rendering issue for large PDF files, it is very slow after upgrading to lion. (AutoCAD drawings that are PDFed)
Small PDF documents are fine.

Hi Guys I work with a lot of pdf files with being a student at uni and not sure these tips might help.
Try an app called skim which is free it handles pdfs nicely and looks similar to the preview app.
Also if a pdf is slow to scroll try selecting all the pages goto file print. Then on the bottom left hand side of the print window select pdf and then save as pdf. I have found on some pdfs (usually the ones in black and white and look like a photo copy) using the the print save as pdf option has then allowed me to view a pdf fine in the preview app without any issues. Hope this is useful.
I suspect its to do with pixels per inch or dots per inch of the document.

Import Previews are very poor/pixelated ... D90 RAW

When I am importing my NEF files from my D90 with a card reader, my import previews are of a very poor image quality. Once the images are imported, previews look great.
Is there any way to improve the quality of import previews from the SD card?

I am using a Nikon D100 and since few Weeks a D300 too and I do not have such trouble with the previews as you describe. Well, I do ever take a look to each image at full screen size and zoom it in to 100 % of size before I delete a photo. Thats can not be done in the simple preview window at import.
Yes, Adobe Lightroom has partly some advantages over Aperture, but what I ever saw and tried out with Lightroom - for me - only the printing capabilities are the one, of which Aperture has to pass.
I do have now over 15 thousend of photos in my Aperture library and do not want to switch over to Lightroom because of better printing features. If you like to switch over, do it - there is no reason to stay on with Aperture. Except you are using many of Apple Apps.
I use iMovie 09 and Final Cut Express for creating slide shows of my photos, more seldom I use iPhoto for this. I do a lot of lay out work with Pages, use iWeb for some of my sites and so on. Within all of them I use without any pain the photobrowser with photos from my Aperture library. That can not be done with Lightroom, for example.

Preview Window really laggy in PE8?

I just can't get the Preview Window to keep up.
I'm looking for a setting that will reduce the resolution of the image and lower the overhead (the preview quality is very high right now, It looks as good as the final output, it used to be pretty blurry, but it ran smooth) but I can't find a way to change it.
The sound and everything is working and keeps pace but it's hard to edit when the preview window lags and then skips ahead 5 seconds completely skipping transitions etc or just stops at one frame and sit there to the end of the clip.
The video I have loaded right now is only one and a half minutes long and the video is coming in as a 1600 by 900 avi file.
I always worked at 1200 by 900 before but I'm trying to switch to wide screen.
Everything else seems to be working ok.
I recently did a clean install of my operating system (Windows 7), I have a very fast computer, i7 at 3Ghz and 8 Gigs of ram along with an ATI 5870 I gig video card, and everything else is running really well except for PE8 and PE9.
Both of them are not running as well as they did in the past. I can run Lord of the Rings Online at 250 fps, it shouldn't have trouble running a little 2D preview window.
Both of my hard drives are defragged, and clean of any malware or junk.
PE9 was so bad I went back to PE8 but it's only slightly better.
When I do output the edited video it looks fine, and runs smoothly.

I got it fixed, I removed both PE8 and PE9 using Revo Uninstaller.
I cleaned everything out.
I reinstalled PE9 in the default location and installed the update 9.0.1.
I when I opened it up the old grainy Preview Window was back and it run normally again.
I then discovered that somehow it had changed the Playback setting from Automatic to Highest, and that was the problem.
I don't know how it got changed I had a lot of other things that were weird, for instance when I would open PE9 it wouldn't load all of the interface, just the preview window without the options on the right side of the screen, Organize, Edit etc.
Anyway everything seems to be back to normal, and it no longer logs me in and tries to save all my files online either so I guess I'm all set.
Now it's time to get back to work on my video.

JDeveloper 11g Tech Preview 4 Very Slow

How to increase the the working speed (cache) of JDeveloper 11g tech preview 4. While coding it is taking time to get it typed. During scrolling the page, it is moving very slow. I have tried with changing the value of AddVMOption -Xmx512M in "ide.conf" file. Changed it to 1024. Still there is no difference. Please help me.....

And to back up John's words, the TP releases were designated for non-production "preview" use only, were not optimised in anyway, have huge amounts of bugs and are not supported. Best upgrade or you're going to have further issues.
