Preview mark up shortcut

Hello,
When in Preview I try to use the shortcut to mark up some text (which includes apple + h) The Preview window minimizes (goes out of sight) and mark up occurs. Any suggestions?

Hi,
You are supposed to use (applectrlh) to mark up some text. You can look at the shortcuts in Tools menu -> mark Up.

  • Preview app - change shortcuts

    Hi there.
I would like to assign "Find..." option on Preview (which is actually activating the search box) to another shortcut than "⌘F" (Command+F). I'm using already "⌘F" (Command+F) to open Spotlight.
For example, I already assigned "⌃F" (Ctrl+F) for "Find..." on Safari with no conflicts at all. I tried to assign "⌥F" (Alt+F) for "Find..." on Preview wondering if "⌃F" (Ctrl+F) is conflicting with the same shortcut for Safari,  with no results.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    G.

Well, it seems if I created the white-out box first.  Then, I create the text box second at another location on the PDF.  I can move the text on top of the white rectangle.  (I thought I had tried this before I created the original post).  So, I guess the trick is to create them in the order you wish from "back" to "front".  Still, I see no way to change the "depth" once you created the annotated objects.

  • Audio Preview Mark a specific spot or stop play

    Morning,
Using the . in After Effects is great but....
I have been trying to find out if there is a way to mark a spot while im doing an audio preview or even stopping the playback on a specific spot instead of it jumping back to the begining?

"To add a blank composition marker at the current time, make sure that no layer is selected, and choose Layer > Add Marker or press * (multiply) on the numeric keypad.
Note: Pressing  * during a RAM preview or audio-only preview adds a marker at the current time without interrupting the preview."
"To add a layer marker to selected layers at the current time, choose Layer > Add Marker or press * (multiply) on the numeric keypad.
Note: Pressing * during a RAM preview or  audio-only preview adds a marker at the current time without interrupting the preview."
(from "Layer markers and composition markers")

  • Set Marker Duration (In/Out Points of Marker) Keyboard Shortcut

Is there a keyboard shortcut for setting the In and Out point of a Marker?
I am editing interviews and would like to use Marker Ranges to indicate responses/topics.
So, I would like to have a keyboard shortcut as easy as "I" or "O" to set the In and Out point of a Marker Range.
The only option that I can see is to pull up the Edit Marker Box and manually adjust Duration.
This won't work because I want to set this Marker Range on the fly as I watch the clip.

That would be a nice feature.

    HI all,
I can't get the "clear current marker" keyboard to work. The keys are: "Crtl + Shift + 0".
I assume i have to simultaneously press the "control, shift and zero" keys - right?

    Averdahl,
I didn't just fall off the turnip truck duuude   Done all that been all there. Still no joy.
However, you'll be happy to know that Ctrl+0 (clear sequence marker) does work!
Anyway, i'm posting in another thread, another discovered annoyance shortly.

  • Preview not working - shortcut or menu

    Hi there

    Thanks, what is?
Also can I set it up that it automatically opens firefox?
    Hi Julie,
Only Internet Explorer 9 and later (10 & 11, as of this writing) support HTML 5 (including Edge Animate compositions).
Edge Animate previews to your system default browser, so to preview in Firefox, you'd need to make that your system default browser.

  • Why doesn't Preview shortcut for 'Go to page' work

In Preview, the keyboard shortcut key for "Go to page" is supposed to be Option-Command-g.
This is not working for me in Preview 7.0 under OS X 10.9.5.
    How fix?

    VikingOSX wrote:
This menu item, and its shortcut work perfectly on my OS X 10.9.5 system with Preview 7.0.
Have you possibly assigned some other keyboard shortcut using these keys, that now supercedes this Preview shortcut.
I looked in the Keyboard Shortcuts pane of System Preferences and did not find any listing of Option+Command+G, not even under the apps category.
The menu item does work. But it's an inconvenience to have to mouse up there to the Go menu and then select the Go to Page item from the drop-down list. Which is why I wanted to use the shortcut.

  • Previewing Pages via Testing Server Unusable???

    Hello,
I typically set up a local testing server during development.
When hitting F12, Dw uploads the current page to the testing
server, and then correctly shows that page in my browser. However,
Dw DOES NOT update the CSS file, and since most changes these days
are done in the linked/attached CSS file (even while editing the
main html page), this F12 preview in browser shortcut is unusable.
The only workaround I know of is to click on synchronize in
the files panel, click preview and then OK in two different dialog
    boxes.
Does anyone know how to make Dreamweaver upload ALL dependent
files to the testing server upon pressing F12?

There is a roundabout way to do this by using "upload files
    on save",
but I would not recommend using that unless you are very good
    about
making backups to all of your files.
Another solution would be to Preview in Browser using "Temp"
    files.

  • How does the quality of Previews effect slideshow performance?

Does anybody know how Aperture uses the Image Previews in a slideshow? The default image preview is half size and medium quality. Does this mean Aperture has to generate full size previews on-the-fly during the show?
If I changed to full-size previews at high quality am I helping Aperture display the images during a slidshow, or not?
Maybe Aperture doesn't use the previews at all during a slideshow and making a few hundred full-size previews would only be filling up my hard drive for no useful purpose.

And another quote from the fine manual:
    Re Slideshow:
    Rendering Preview Images
Aperture renders preview images in four situations:
When a library is upgraded—provided that the “Create previews for existing images” checkbox is selected in the Welcome to Aperture dialog
When an image is imported, or a version is created, rotated, or adjusted—provided that the Maintain Previews item is selected in the Library Action pop-up menu (with a gear icon)
When you Control-click the library, a project, or an image selection and choose Update Previews from the shortcut menu
Immediately before a slideshow, if the previews are not up to date, and the slideshow preset uses the Best quality setting
When rendering a group of preview images, Aperture uses the current application preference settings for compression quality and picture size, not the settings that were specified when preview rendering began. For example, if you have the quality set to 6, and then halfway through rendering you change the setting to 8, the previews that have not yet been rendered will be compressed at setting 8. Previously rendered previews are unaffected.
So, a high quality slideshow will require high quality previews, and indeed Aperture will render previews before rendering a slideshow, if the preview quality is not sufficient.

Few more things I noticed today. Maybe that will be a clue.
    Situation1:
When the html document is saved on desktop (no site defined) it will preview OK in FF. Although when I try to preview using keyboard shortcut and FF is not running, FF tries to start in a Safe Mode. Triggering preview from the menu or icon on a DW toolbar is fine.
    Situation 2:
When HTML document is saved inside a site that doesn't have defined testing server, it will preview OK in FF, but same story with the shortcut - safe mode - if the browser was turned off.
    Situation 3:
The moment you specify a testing server, the preview options are not working. I use MAMP Pro, but I was also trying on localhost - no luck.

  • Window Switching in Preview

I usually work reading lots of PDFs, and I'd like to have an easy way to switch between windows using my keyboard. Unfortunately, when I am reading files in the Preview.app, the shortcut Cmd-Tilde won't switch between windows.
This thing is driving me crazy! Everytime I need to switch between preview windows I have to use exposé and try to find the right window in the middle of all those windows. Not to mention having to use the mouse
If anyone knows a solution to this problem, it would be very welcome.
    Thanks for you attention.

Could there be an issue with your keyboard?
The Tilde on my MacBook Pro (10.6.5)keyboard is left of the Z key
On my G4 tower (10.5.8), using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard it is left of the 1 Key on the main keypad area.
However both type ~ and do the job in Preview.
The MS Keyboard is set to switch ALT and CMD and I am not sure if this effects other keys as a result.

  • Command + delete not working in Preview

I use the Command + Delete keyboard shortcut all the time on my MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion to quickly delete multiple images in preview. The shortcut seems to be disabled on my iMac running SL, however. To the best of my knowledge it used to work before. How do I fix this?

⌫ is the symbol for the erase to the left (normal delete) key

  • Desktop can not see all images in aperture project

When trying to change the background picture desktop lists my aperture projects but only displays a subset (5 of 114) of the images in one project. Also have 2 of 8, 152 of 152, and 0 of 12 in different projects.

It's possible you don't have Previews for the "missing" images (Aperture shares the Preview, not the full image).
What happens if you update every image in the Project's Preview?
To update all the JPEG previews in a project
In the Library inspector, Control-click the project whose JPEG previews you want to update, then choose Update Previews from the shortcut menu.

  • What compression to use when Exporting HD video from final cut pro PAL setting

    Hi there
I'm trying to export my HD video from Final cut Pro so that I can edit it in DVD studio Pro. I initially exported it on H.264 setting however it then gives me the message 'NTSC assets cannot be imported into PAL projects' It was edited with PAL setting so I think it must be the conversion but i'm not sure which option to use.....been really struggling to get the 1 hour footage under 4.5gb without losing too much quality...
    Any advice greatly appreciated!
    thanks

    Just to add two suggestions.
    1) Consider putting your four movies on two disks.
    2) Bring your movies into Compressor and duplicate the stock DVD setting. In the Encoding pane of the Inspector, select a CBR and dial it back to around 6.2 to 6.5 Mbs. In Preview mark a small section and submit; you'll get 2 elementary streams, with m2v and AC3 extensions. Bring that into DVDSP and evaluate results. Adjust as necessary. (This is to avoid waiting out very long encodes and then having to start again from scratch if you get disappointing results.)

To deploy Oracle RAC on Virtualized Env must be done carefully, because RAC/Clusterware is more sensitive to bad performance. (split-brain occurs due I/O or CPU starvation).
    I can see:
1: CRS-1612:Network communication with node wmprddb2 (2) missing for 50% of timeout interval. Removal of this node from cluster in 12.480 seconds
    2013-09-05 10:37:04.806
2: Rebooting after limit 25570 exceeded; disk timeout 6560, network timeout 25570, last heartbeat from CSSD at epoch seconds 1378395458.791, 27520 milliseconds ago based on invariant clock value of 243974
