Preview not updating

I'm using Premier Elements 10 and last night I encountered a strange bug causing the preview window to not update. I;m currently working on a project that's dependent on syncing this with music which is highly difficult if I can't see things in real time. If I click the preview window it will show what is at the location of my cursor in the timeline, but hitting play or moving the cursor bar does nothing and it always shows the exact same frame.

If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere

Adobe 9 standard print preview not updating

I am having a issue with Adobe 9 stardard on win7 64bit. The issue is happening on more then on pc. The issue is, when the page size is changed in the print menu, by clicking the properties button. The preview of the document does not update to the page size that I chose. For instance the user is usually changing the page size to 11 x 17 and when they choose that the preview does not change the 11x17, but when they print it will print at 11x17. Is there anything that I can do so that the preview image updates. If they go back in and change the paper size again it updates the preview image.

That is not required functionality. it should display a Adobe Form for Invoice processing.
I doubt there might be some problem with ADS configuration.
Can you please do the following test and let me know the result ?
If the Adobe Interactive Forms have been installed correctly, the
following tests should run without errors:
First test:
1) Call transaction SE38.
2) Enter the report name "FP_PDF_TEST_00" and choose "Execute" (or press F8).
3) Enter "ADS" in the entry field for the connection, and choose
"Execute" (or press F8).
4) The system should issue a dialog box containing the current version
information.
Second test:
1) Call transaction SE38.
2) Enter the report name "FP_TEST_00" and choose "Execute" (or press
F8).
3) Enter "FP_TEST_00" for the form, "2" for the number of output pages,
and "ADS" for the ADS connection. The choose "Execute".
4) Enter a valid output device and choose "Print Preview".
5) The Adobe Reader should be displayed in the GUI, and display two
pages with numbered lines.
Third test:
1) Call transaction SE38.
2) Enter the report name "FP_TEST_IA_01" and choose "Execute" (or press
F8).
3) Enter "FP_TEST_IA_01" for the form, "ADS" for the ADS connection, and
any data in the other entry fields (these are already filled with
default values). Then choose "Execute" (or press F8).
4) Enter a valid output device and choose "Print Preview".
5) The Adobe Reader should be displayed in the GUI, and display a page
with address fields.
6) Scroll down to the frame for the new address, and fill in those
fields.
At the end of the form, an entry field for the date and a value help
exists. Choose the input help button and check if the system displays
the datepicker.
Now you will know yourself if there is any problem with ADS configuration.

Bridge CS5 previews not updating?

I recently upgraded to CS5, and now I'm tearing my hair out. It's the first version for me that does not update a preview after I've made adjustments to the raw image. I've looked through preferences and don't see anything to check or uncheck. Right now the only way I can see if I've lightened or darkened an image, for instance, is to double-click it and open the editing window in Bridge. There has to be a better way!
Anyone? Your help is really appreciated.

Okay, I found it after looking at another Bridge question and having someone mention filters. Filters weren't the problem, but looking around for this made me poke around in the top right side of the screen, where I found this:
It was set on Prefer Embedded, and I changed it to Always High Quality. Now I can see what I'm doing.

Preview not updated in 3.2?

If I edit a picture, i.e. change contrast etc. the preview (to see the whole picture) gets fuzzy and will be updated and getting sharp again only if I change to another picture and come back or if I display the picture in 100% size and switch back to the preview. Any ideas how to resolve this issue? See sample picture below...

This is a known bug in LR3.2, of which I'm not sure if it has been resolved in LR3.3RC (I think so, but I cannot find a reference to it in the release notes). Have you tried with LR3.3RC?

Previews not updating after CS3 round trip

I'm having a bunch of weird Aperture problems. I've tried rebooting and rebuilding the library and neither worked. Here's the latest. I'm using 2.1 by the way.
Make a bunch of adjustments on a raw file (I'm using .CR2) then use the Edit With command to open the image in CS3. I make some adjustments in CS3 and then use the Save command to update the TIFF in its original location (i.e. I do not change the file location from where Aperture placed it as a result of running the Edit With command).
I then toggle back to Aperture. As you would expect the version and its TIFF counterpart are both showing in multi view mode and both selected. Up until today the TIFF would briefly turn gray then update with the CS3 adjustments. Perfect. That's how it's supposed to work. However, NOW the TIFF never updates in Aperture. I can't even delete the darn thing. I can delete other images but not the TIFFs I just created using the Edit With command. I can reimport the image and get a new referenced file. I still can't delete the other TIFF. This is seriously ticking me off. Any ideas?
I'm wondering if I should reinstall 2.1.

I just had the idea of switching the gpu (System Prefs - Energy Saver - Better Battery life or Better Performance). Changing from one to the other will force you to log out and back in. Now Bridge is working. I switched back and it's still working so maybe you just need to log out or restart.
No solution, but I'm having the same problem. Just updated to 4.0.4.1. I'm guessing there because I didn't check the number, but I ran the update a couple days ago and went to use Bridge today... I repaired permissions, installed another update today (4.0.4.2) and tried resetting Bridge (option key at start) and nothing has fixed it.

Previews in Adobe Bridge in Essentials View do not update after manipulation in Adobe Camera Raw

When I open a RAW file in Bridge and manipulate it in ACR, the preview is not updated in Bridge Essentials View. The only way I can get it to update the preview is to open the file in "Preview" view, then it updates and looks fine in Essentials view.

Is Bridge set up to store the ACR modifications to those XMP files? Only then it can update the preview right after working on it. Else you need to refresh the preview cache.

Why does Lightroom not update all my previews after a batch change?

I imported more 2,000 pictures. Then I did one batch change (adjusting the curve (tonality) by Lightroom).
But it looks like, only on the page, I actually see, the previews are updated.
If go to the next page of 24 pictures. At first I see the old preview. Then the CPU and hard drive activity is increasing and picture by picture the preview is updated. So I've to wait 15 seconds, until I can decide, if the settings of the pictures are a good start or not. And then I've to page again and wait 15 seconds
I expect, that Lightroom does it:
in background
in parallel and not only one picture by picture (15 seconds are cause by sequencially processing; I've an Intel i7 with 4 cores and 3.6 GHz, it's not the slowest machine, but Lightroom only use up to 25% of my whole CPU resources :-( )
Sorry, but I do not understand, how I should be able to handle a mass of pictures, if I have to page and wait always.
Is there any magic shurtcut, command, setting, to enforce such an auto update?

Dunno whether this would offer sufficient improvement or not:
It doesn't automate preview generation, but does give a button (2 actually) for quick-building of previews.

PS - Adobe did provide a function in Lr5.2 SDK for building previews, unfortunately the fine print taketh away too much of what the big print giveth (e.g. doesn't work in develop module), so not viable for auto-preview generation, yet.

Previews in Bridge CS5 not updating with changes in Photoshop CS5

The changes I make to a file in Photoshop are not updating in the same files previewed in Bridge. The Refresh button does not make a difference. Is this to do with Cache settings or some other Preferences perhaps?
How do I make my images in Bridge become accurate representations of my files being edited in Photoshop?

I am aware of the delay in writing the cache. It only took one stuffed-up rename to make sure I was aware of that in CS3 Bridge. I use many different camera bodies and have to sort the images into Date Created order to rename them. If Bridge hasn't finished reading all the EXIF data, the images will not be in the correct order and will rename out of order.
The xmp files are all created the first time I open the RAW files in ACR to do my edit. Prior to this, they don't exist, so if I see they exist, I don't need to check their creation date. This only changes if I am editing previously edited RAW files and I don't do that often. Once is usually enough when dealing with that many files.
There shouldn't be a problem with 10,000 RAW files as the cache is set to 50GB and Adobe shows this as 500,000 files. I know that is basically JPEG files. A corrupt cache is not the same thing as corrupt RAW files, and there are several copies of the RAW files anyway as a good back-up strategy requires.
Neither of my swap files/scratch pads are on RAID drives so I doubt this is the problem. I don't recall Bridge ever using more than 25% of the CPU Resources either. It's a 32-bit program anyway and probablky won't use all four cores of the Quad-core CPU...I might be wrong there, but I haven't noticed it doing so anyway.
My WPI figures were much higher when I was running a RAID0 Boot Disc, but one disc went belly-up and I decided against a RAID primary boot disc after that.
I'm sure that there are lots of people out there with lesser-spec'd computers who are not having the same problem. Equally, I'm sure that there are others out there with the same or similar problems. I'd like to hear from them about what they have done to eliminate the problem, or are we all doing work-arounds because Adobe haven't fixed a bug. I appreciate your attempts to help with this issue Curt, so don't feel that I'm simply dismissing your suggestions. I am hopeful though that someone who uses their system and CS5 in ways similar to me might have encountered and solved this issue.

Aperture does not update a photo preview after editing in external editor

I have noticed this problem after installing the last Aperture (3.2.3) update. It appears to be common to my Mac Pro and Mac Book Pro. The updated preview is visible only in "viewer" mode (menu / view / viewer). It's interesting, that updated preview appears in "viewer" mode on both displays (I use two monitors). And when I switch into "split view" the preview switch also and is not updated.
After relaunching Aperture previews are updated.
The thumbnail looks to be good (updated). This problem makes my work really uncomfortable.

Print Module templates layouts do not update on the fly

Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This occurs in all three Layout Styles. The very first layout chosen in Single Image/Contact Sheet, Picture Package, or Custom Package is the permanent 'default' and cannot be changed. The Preview will show as expected however any image stays stuck in the very first layout I chose after installing LR4 beta.
For example, I first chose Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size, and Layout Style>Single Image/Contact Sheet. Clicking through any other Templates (Lightroom or User defined) will alter the preview but not the layout display in the Print window. Same problem in either of the other Layout styles. I have been trying for days to rectify this, but it seems somehow more difficult than LR3. and not what I expect.
As a comparison, using the same steps in LR3 works perfectly as all print template/layouts can be changed on the fly as expected. I have no problems generating different layouts in LR3 and have been using LR print module since version 1 without this issue.
Is this a bug or are there any extra steps or workarounds I have not discovered? Any other testers seen this?

The steps as follows:
1) Lightroom 3.6 & LR4Beta exist side by side.
2) LR4 Beta> Print Module;
3) From filmstrip choose image;
4) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>Maximum Size;
5) Preview displays as expected;
6) Layout Styles>Single Image/Contact Sheets
7) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>click through any other templates (Lightroom or User defined);
8) Image layout in main window does not update;
9) Previews update;
10) Layout Style>Picture Package;
11) Template Browser>Maximum size is then automatically shown, however the template in the main window is actually (1) 7x5, (2) 2.5x3.5;
12) Any further attempts to change the layouts regardless of Style Layout choices are not successful.
13) Close LR4Beta>re-open LR4Beta;
14) Repeat test;
15) Print Module layouts do not update on the fly as expected;
16) Close LR4Beta and all applications;
17) Reboot iMac.
18) Open LR4Beta only;
19) LR4Beta>Print Module>Template Browser >Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
20) Image displays in main layout window with Template and Preview display as expected;
21) Choose different image>Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
22) Click through templates, layouts DO NOT update in main window although previews do automatically update.
23) CONCLUSION - In Lightroom 4 Beta>Print Module>Template Browser, image layouts do not change after initial choice as expected.

Firefox problems - Can't open from Downloads - Can't print - FF will not update and more and more...

I've been having several problems with Firefox, to the point that I almost can't use it anymore. In no particular order, they include:
1. When I download something, 'Downloads' opens. When a d/l finishes I used to be able to run an install or open an image from there, but now I get this error message,
Windows cannot access the specified device, path of file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
...but I can go to my Downloads directory and run or open it from there.
2. If I go to File > Print or File > Print Preview, I get this
Printing Error:
"Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer. Do you want to install a printer now?"
and if I click yes, i get this,
"Operation could not be completed."
3. Firefox will not update itself. I go to About, it downloads the new update, and I click the Apply Update button. Firefox closes, and nothing happens. A few minutes later I click to run it, and it opens with a 'Software Update' window that says,
Update Failed
"The partial update could not be applied. Firefox will try again by downloading a complete Update"
...and that does not work.
I download the new version, and when trying to run it from Downloads, I get the error (as in #1 above):
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path of file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
When I go to the folder it's in and run it from there, it installs, but the problems persist.
4. I go to Help|Troubleshooting Information, and clicking the Reset Firefox button only closes Firefox. Clicking the Show Folder button doesn't do anything.
5. I used to be able to drag a url to the desktop, a folder or even a email, but now all I get the the O with a / through it.
6. I also used to be able to, when I click Browse on a site to upload a jpg or a gif, I could right click the file and open it in a photo viewing program (Irfanview or Paint), and now I get
"Windows cannot access the specified drive, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
I've created a new profile and it makes no difference.
I've disabled all add-ons and it makes no difference (I have to disable them manually).
The problems are there for different user accounts in Windows.
I've uninstalled Firefox, and removed the profile - rebooted and reinstalled it, but the problems persist.
What more do I have to do more to completely uninstall it?
I've kinda saved myself by using Firefox Portable, which I'm running from it's own directory. It runs as it should, but I'd prefer not to have to use it.
If i can't fix it, I'd like to completely uninstall Firefox, and just install it new and have it work properly. I have no (or only occasional minor) problems with Firefox on other computers. This computer is Win XP, fully updated

Data is not updating in calss & Convert vi reference to strictly type reference vi

In the attached project file there is a Class called 'ClassSample.lvclass' having 3 different data types Boolean, Numeric and Variant(not really sure, Variant can be use for strict data type reference). From this three we careated the 'VIs for data member access' you can see them in project file
My questions are,(Please refer attached screenshot)
1. Though member of same class, why value is not updating at probe 16 ?
2. How to convert vi reference to strictly type reference vi ?

It depends a bit on your final intention. Bascially you have a shared state that you want to access asynchronously from different places. If you know that the actual object is only created once (terminilogie here is a bit shaky as every wire split would create a copy of the LVOOP object but I hope you know what I mean), you could use a global or Action Engine to store the state. Using a DVR for this state and adding the DVR to your object class data is however a more scalable approach as it will allow you to instantiate more than one object of that class and each one will contain its own DVR that will reference the same value for the specific object instance even if you split the object wire, creating actually two copies of that object (but for the purpose of this discussion they would be still the same object instance).
Queues could work if you create a single element queue but you would always need to use Preview Queue rather than Dequeue in order to maintain the value in there.

Previews not correct in open file dialog

Hello all,
I am on CS4 Photoshop. The previews of files in the File>Open dialog do not update or show the correct picture. Files with various layers often only show one layer instead of the whole picture, or layers are shifted wrongly over one another. Where are those previews kept and how can I force Photoshop to update them correctly? IMHO it has nothing to do with bridge, I tried purging the cache etc, but all that does not help. This seems purely a Photoshop or Mac thing, at least I think so. Any help greatly appreciated.

When opening the folder containing the images in the finder they look perfectly OK both in list view and in icon view. It is just in the open file menu of photoshop.

OLEDB data not updating

I have several drop-down lists that I want to pull data from a MySQL database on a server. I have set up data sources to use a system DSN (using mysql-odbc 3.51?) and a SQL query. The drop-down lists are using dynamic properties for the list items. The from was created in LiveCycle Designer 8.
The form works fine in LiveCycle's preview mode. If I open the form in Reader 8, the lists are populated. However, if I change the items in the database and reopen the form in Reader, the items do not reflect the database change. Furthermore, when I opened the form in Reader on a computer without the DSN, it happily showed the original data. i.e. it seems that Reader is never trying to read from the database.
If I reopen the form in Livecycle Designer and preview the form, the changes made in the database are present. If I save the form, the changes are reflected in Reader, but further changes are not.
In summary, LiveCycle Designer seems to be updating data from the database in its preview, but Reader is only showing the data that was there when last saved in LiveCycle Designer (some sort of cacheing?) and not updating from the database.
I guess the question is obvious - how do I make the form such the Reader always gets its data from the database (and gives some error if database unavailable)?

I believe OLEDB access is only available through Acrobat, not Reader.
When you save a form in Acrobat with a value in a field, that value is saved as the default value in the form regardless of whether or not it can access the database. That's why you're seeing the data in Reader.
