Preview opens fileopen dialog each time it starts

I don't know what started this but it really is annoying. If I open Preview it opens the file-open dialog. If I open it via clicking on a file to view the same thing.
How can I stop this???

From any app, when I select PRINT: Open pdf in Preview, the Preview app opens and correctly displays the desired page or file but... it also opens the "Open" dialog box allowing me to select a file to open. Pahu, thank you. After reading your reply, I found a discussion thread called "preview opens fileopen dialog each time it starts", and the complete answer was there. Basically, just open System Preferences – iCloud, and uncheck "Documents & Data". I did get a message that all corresponding data on my Mac would be erased but the data would remain in iCloud for use on iPhones, etc. Since I don't keep any "documents & data" on iCloud (I only keep contacts, calendar, notes, etc. -- those are separate from documents & data), I accepted this. My problem was immediately fixed.

Welcome page opens each time I start Firefox, my homepage opens in separate window. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled and it continues to happen. Homepage is set to google and is present when I go to the general tab.

Before Firefox 4, each time I started the computer, it would load the windows I still had open when I closed down the night before. This has disappeared. Can I restore this?

Before Firefox 4, each time I started up the computer in the morning and clicked on Mozilla Firefox, it would load up the windows I still had open when I closed down the night before. Very handy! How do I restore it this terrific time-saving feature?

Each time I start iTunes, it configure again the program.

I'm running iTunes v7.6.2.9 with Windows Vista Ultimate 32bits and SP1. I reinstall iTunes, but it change nothing. Each time I start iTunes, the configure window appear.

This seems to be caused by a bug in the Vista installer. Are you using the link on the Quick Launch toolbar? Try using the iTunes link in the main Start Menu and it should work OK. If not try opening the program from the *C:\Program Files\iTunes* folder. I simply replace the Quick Launch link with a freshly made shortut to the iTunes msin program. I then get caught out again after every iTunes upgrade....

Airport Express software update reminder each time at start up

Why do I get Airport Express software update for 5.4.2 reminder each time at start up? I try to update from 5.4.1 by clicking update button, and zoom, the Airport Express screen disappears and no update begins. Your help is appreciated.

I'm not getting an update message, so I can't re-create your view, but this might help.
Open AirPort Utility. On the AirPort Utility menu right next to the Apple icon, select Check for Updates.

Agreeing to licence agreement each time I start iTunes

I have to agree to the software license agreement each time I start itunes. Anyone know how to fix this? It also asks me to configure iTunes every time it opens.

Addblock Pluse must be disabled/enabled each time firefox starts-won't start automatically

Each time I start firefox I have to disable/enable the addblock plus add on. In the extensions it indicates that it is enabled, but it is inoperative until I disable and then enable it again.

Still no help on making Add Block Plus start automatically when firefox is opened. In the add ons section it shows that it is enabled, but it is not working. By disabling and enabling the add on becomes operational.

"Loading iTunes Match" showing each time I start Music

Hi,
I've recently had some trouble with iTunes match, where it wasn't downloading songs, although I could stream them fine. I spoke to someone from Apple who suggested turning off iTunes Match, then do a 'Reset All Settings', then re-enable iTunes Match. This seems to work fine, as I can now download songs.
Since performing the above 'reset', each time I start 'Music', it displays 'Loading iTunes Match', the progress bar gets all the way across, then I see my songs (not my playlists though - but that's a separate question). However, if I come out of Music, and go back in, I see the same message..

There may a problem track amongst those tracks that are waiting. Firstly, add iCloud status column to song view - go to menu > view > view options and tick box.
Next is to examine those tracks waiting - is there anything unusual or large? You may need to remove all those tracks waiting from your library. Next hold shift key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes, reopen and turn on match. You will be asked to add this computer, do so. The match process should be quick, match will remember previous matches and uploads.
Once process complete, readd those tracks, a small batch at a time. This will help you find any track that match does not like.

I'm using iCloud to synch my calendar to multiple other devices - iMac, iPad and iPhone. Using Maverick on both my iMac and my MacBook Air. The file was also showing up on the desktop when I was using Lion. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone,
To anyone who might read this, I ended up re-installing with the original install disc and was able to get back on to Mac, though I lost all of the previous data that I had not backed up. Unsure still if it will continue to let me access the HDD in this, but it kind of confirms that installing Lion probably put too much stress on the computer this last year.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

None of these options have been successful over the previous two weeks.
