Preview Page in Browser

When I preview pages in Chrome, text, including on menus, is not appearing. With the menus if I mouse over them then the text appears. Any solution to this?

Hey Brad, thanks for getting back to me and apologies for the delay in me getting back to you. The issue is occuring when I "Preview Site in Browser" and it happens in Chrome, the primary browser I use. Only happens sometimes. I tried it in IE and there were other issues, though I attribute this to me running IE8 which is rather outdated. Unfortunately I have am only in development and have not published the site which therefore leaves no way for me to send you a link.

Anyway, here's the Muse bug that just cropped up yesterday as I was working on a niche one-pager site: when I tried "Preview Page in Browser," nothing happened.
Usually when I'm working in Muse, I already have Firefox open on my screen, and when I hit "Preview Page in Browser," it'll open a new tab with the preview. This time, nada, no new tab, no preview.
Have no idea if my system settings or anything else has changed since the last time I designed a mini-site in Muse, a few weeks ago, when "Preview in Browser" was working fine. I'm on an (aging) PC laptop, running Windows XP.
Any ideas what's going on? Thanks again!

Could you please check if the issue is specific to one website on your computer.
You can try creating a new test website and check if you are able to preview it in a browser or not.
If it does not work, please try deleting the AdobeMuse folder from the location :
Windows 7: C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data
Mac: /Users/your_user_name/Library/Preferences/
After that please relaunch Adobe Muse and check if you get the preview in Browser feature to work or not.

Unable to Preview Page in Browser on First Try

Hello, when I go to File > Preview Page in Browser (Ctrl + Shift + E) it shows the error message above. But when I try again it works. Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries but eventually it works. Why does it not work the first try? Thanks.

Adobe Muse: "Preview page in browser" and "preview site in browser" functions have stopped working.

Working one day then not the next. Firefox just spins. The preview button works, as does the publish function.

Something else to add: When Firefox finally timed out it displayed the full url. Copying and pasting that into Safari and everything works. So it seems in someway this is a Firefox issue or a Muse -Firefox connection issue.
So the new question is: how can I change the browser Muse chooses to use when I select these two functions?

Adobe Muse will use OS default browser for preview the page/site in browser. So you can change the default browser and preview the site again.
Also, try to troubleshoot Firefox, using their official documentation

to preview, or with live view, i see the same thing:

How do I access the iTunes Preview page with a web browser?

Does anyone out there know how to access the iTunes app preview page with a web browser? So far the only way I've been able to get there is by Googling the app with the term 'iTunes preview'. Is that really the only way? The iTunes page itself has no obvious link to the app list.

Thanks, but I should have been more specific. I was trying to access the iTunes app preview page on my PC through Chrome. While I have an iPad, it's not convenient to have to refer to it every time I want to discuss an iOS app.

When I type a link to a page in my root directory in code view and I click on the link in live view it does not go to that page. But if I preview in a browser it works fine.

I am not sure however I suspect live view is for viewing the page you are working on. You would have to open the other page to see it in live view. The browser on the other hand is doing what it is designed to do. I jump back and forth all the time from live view to the browsers I have installed.

Can not preview HTML pages in browser

I am unable to preview my HTML pages in a browser eg. safari. firefox etc... before uploading them to my server. I have tried going into preferences and clicking on the preview in browser section and adding a new primary and secondary browser but it will not work. I was able to preview my pages in browser mode fine up until a few days ago when it suddenly stopped working. I am using Mac OS X version 10.5.8, Prosessor 4x2.5 GHz PowerPC G5. Memory 4.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM. I have Dreamweaver CS3. My test server is set to none.

When I try to preview HTML pages in browser it comes up with a message saying 'Would you like to define a primary browser now?' but when i try this it does not work, it will not recognise the browsers when i add them to the list.

Previewing page in IE on Mac

Hi!
I am new to Dreamweaver and need to know if Windows based
Internet Explorer will work in Browser Preview if run on a Mac.
I tried to download IE for Mac but found that it was
discontinued. So before I will go and buy IE 7.0 can someone pls
let me know if I will run into any issues running a Windows-based
version of IE trying to preview a page in Browser Check - but using
a MAC??

If you have an Intel Mac there is a program that you install
(based on
WINE) that allows you to just download and and install IE6
and run from
a Mac. IF your using a PowerPC unit your out of luck.
If you send me your email address though I have a working
.DMG file of
IE 5.2.3 the last version for Mac. works great on OSX.3.9.
Somewhat on
OSX.4.11 and have no earthly idea whether it will even fire
up on
leopard (X.5)

Previewing/Debug in Browser

Why is it when previewing in browser from DW, the page
displays correctly, but from there when navigating to other pages
using the menu, those pages "styles" are not displaying correctly?
The menu is an include file, is that it?

You are being confused by a) not understanding root relative
vs document
relative links, and b) not understanding how DW previews
files.
If I have a document with a link to an image that looks like
this -
<img src="/images/foo.gif"...
That's what's called a root relative link.
If I preview that document in DW, then the browser gets the
document, sees
the leading "/" and reads that as the root of the hard drive,
since the
browser has no idea where the root of the site is. Thus, the
image is
broken in the preview.
If I have temp files enabled, then DW will secretly convert
the file being
previewed into a temporary file, and hand that to the
browser. This temp
file has had all root relative links converted to document
relative links
(as you will see by looking at the code in the browser), and
has had all
include files actually embedded in the page, and has had all
external CSS
and js markup embedded in the page. In other words, DW has
made the
document into a stand-alone page.
If you do not have temp files enabled, all of these links
would be broken on
preview.
Now - if you are using root relative links, AND you have temp
files enabled,
AND you click away from the previewed document, then all of
your links will
be broken, since DW has not made that linked file into a temp
file. This is
what you are seeing.
So - if you want to click away on preview, then you must use
document
relative links for the site -
<img src="../images/foo.gif"... (for example)
These will still work on preview since the browser knows how
to determine
the current file's location and how to follow that path.

Preview Page Templates on Firefox not working if off https domains...

I thought it was me just losing it after a very long day but it has been confirmed with that if you are in BC via the worldsecuresystems domain and choose to preview a page template then it won't dislpay correctly. Previewing pages is fine.
Thanks to the investigations by Abhishek Maurya on the chat support he identified that Firefox is blocking the non secure content on the page, http://prntscr.com/3ezuxr which is knd of important.
The problem does not occur in IE at least.

All your internal stuff like scripts etc should be relative referenced. The issue does occur in IE it just behaves a bit differently Greg.
Cross domain is not a browser thing but a web thing.
Certificates will not validate when you have this sort of thing occur.
If your using 3rd party services like google fonts you should look to use // instead of http:// in front of the URL.

Unable to preview in external browser

Hi,
When I select preview in external browser I get save dialogue box in browser instead of rendering of page. This happens for every browser and every html file I've tried.
This DW feature works fine on my other 3 machines, (just not the one I wish to do all my work on).
Any ideas much appreciated.

Let me see if I understand what you are saying:
You have a page open and you press F12 to preview it. You are immediately prompted to save the page? Is that correct?
Is the page marked as 'dirty' when you press F12 (i.e., does it have an asterisk after its name in the tab)? Do you see the same thing if you just open a saved page and F12? Or is this only happening with pages that have been changed but not saved? If so, then you have to understand that DW cannot preview an unsaved page UNLESS you have enabled PREFERENCES > Preview in browser > Preview using temporary file.

SSI show as source page in browser

I'm using DW8, OS 10.4.8, running Apache, php and MySQL and
have a testing
server set up on my machine with a virtual URL. Whenever I
save a php page
that has a php include and then view that page in my primary
or secondary
browser (Firefox, Camino), everything works fine.
However, when I set up an SSI within a template (say for
navigation) and
save the page with a .shtml extension, the include will
display fine in
split view mode, but when I try to view the same page in my
primary browser,
the page displays as source code.
My httpd.conf contains the
Options +Includes
And
AddType text/html .shtml
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
Instructions, I've restarted Apache but the Preview in
primary browser will
only show me a page as source code. What am I missing?

What is this page's extension? Is it *.php or *.shtm(l)?
Also, are you
using HTML includes, or PHP includes?

Menu bar not available in "preview site in browser"

I have been building a website using Muse 5.0 and previewing the site in Safari 7.0
When I name the second child page "Apparel" and then Preview site in browser, the menu is gone...
When I change the name to "Clothing" in the plan mode
and then Preview site in browser, the menu appears
I am new to Muse but familiar with other Adobe products...this has stumped me.
Please advise as I need to get this project finished.
