Preview prints everything Full Page Size?

Hi,
After upgrading to 10.6 several months ago ( yes, it took me a while) I now have a printing problem.
Every picture I get via email, after I download it to the desktop, will only print in Full Sheet of paper mode.
Scale To Fit is automatically selected. It doesn't change when I select Scale and enter the proper %, it still fills the page.
I tried Preview--Preferences--Images--and Scale Large Images was selected. I selected Print Actual Size and tried it. No different.
You used to get a Print option and a Print Setup option on the File pulldown. It was easy to set the percentage you wanted to print at. No more.
How do I stop images of all sizes being automatically upscaled to a Full Page?

Thank You.
After submitting the question, the similar questions popped up on the righthand side.
Matthew Morgan answered this over TWO YEARS AGO. What the ****, Apple hasn't fixed or notified anyone of this?
I select Scale, enter the correct percentage, and then hit Tab after I'm done. Makes no sense but it works.
Why wouldn't it just print with the settings that were on the page when you hit the Print key like ie always did?
Thanks Again

  • Mac Mini envelopes printing full page size from contacts

    Good day.
    So here’s my story.
In early summer I printed out enveoples form "Address Book" for our wedding invitations from a Macbook pro 2.16 GHz running 10.6.8. Everything worked out perfectly.
I then got a Mac Mini 2.7 GHz Core i7  for a wedding gift and I did a data migration from my Macbook Pro to the mac Mini. It was running 10.8.5 and is now running the latest version or Maverics. The printer I used for both envelope printing jobs, an HP CM1415fnw color MPF has also been updated to the latest software version.
The problem I am having is that the Mac mini will NOT print envelopes in the custom envelope size, it always prints full page. It has done this since the data migration form the Macbook Pro running "Address Book" to the Mac Mini 10.8 running "Contacts". I thought is was an operating system issue so I waited for the new OS Maverics.  I did another print out from both computers tonight to see if the issue had resoleved it's self. NOPE. I even do a print preview on the mini which loads up Preview and it shows the custom size, though it prints out full page
All settings on both computers are the same for the custom envelope size.
Anyone know how I can fix the paper size issue?
    Thanks for anyhelp I get

    Hi Rodger_
Thank you for the additional information, it was helpful.
I was speaking with one of my colleagues and we would like you to try the following steps. Once you have completed the steps please try printing again.
    1)    Please reset your printing system, I have included a document on how to do this. Please be aware that this reset deletes all print settings and pending print jobs from your Mac.
    2)    In the "Printers & Scanners" please click on the '+' and choose "Add another printer or scanner from the options (see screen shot)
    3)    Choose your Laserjet CM1415fnw and at the bottom where it says "USE" please change it to the HP Laserjet (see screen shot) instead of AirPrint

Why can't I print a FULL PAGE PHOTO IN PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS VERSION 10, (letter size 8.5 x 11?)  I have tried resizing, cropping and anything else I can possibly think of to no avail!!! VERSION 7 was so easy just print (fit to page)! I'am pulling my hair out trying to accomplish this! If anyone can tell me how to do it I would be eternally grateful! Thanks Julie
    P.S. I can't even print a 8 x 10 properly!

Sarah, my printer drivers are updated! This problem seems SO COMPLICATED when it should be so easy!  It's like the more advanced these programs get the less you can figure them out!!!!  I'am ready to offer a reward to fix this!!! The stress of trying to figure this out is making me crazy!

  • When I print a PDF it always prints as a booklet, how can I print 1 full page?

When I print a PDF it always prints as a booklet, how do I print a full page?

In the Print dialog box you should be able to indicate which page you want to print and that page will print.  For instance, if you are viewing page 4, in the Print dialog, select "current page" and page 4 prints. This won't work if your page is actually a 2-page spread.  What size is the booklet?

Are you using DesignPro from Avery? You should.
It gives you the option to print individual labels or all the same:

  • IMac not printing out full pages - HELP!

    Hello,
I'm using a friend's iMac, Version 10.4.11, and went into Printer Settings in an attempt to try and set the printer options so my printer (an HP Deskjet 920C) will actually print a full page (at this time, it's cutting off some of the page -- hence, 90% of the page prints out fine, but it's cut-off toward the right side).  I hit the "Apple and P" for printing option and tried to adjust there as well, but still got the same printout with some of the content cut-off.
Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
Thanks so much if anyone can assist.
    -JC

You are not describing the problem clearly enough for an answer. There is nothing in your description that relates to printing.
You need to explain exactly what your grandfather is trying to do, what results he is getting, and where they are coming from. That is not clear from your message.

  • We are working on Mac's and have a D110 series Photosmart. Can't get printer to print a full page.

Only my MacAir has developed problems getting the printer to print a full page. It prints 1/2 then stops, blinks and says I have to restart the printer.  Am I missing an update or something?  It is not our network as other Mac's and even our iPads have no problem.

It appears to be isolated to the Mac that is having the issue as it is the only one having an issue.
What OS X version is it using (10.4, 10.5, 10.6, etc.)?
Do you receive any other error messages on that system related to the printer?

    Hi kvsalazar24,
There is a program that comes with the printer named Easy-PhotoPrint EX that can assist you with printing photos.  If you do not have the program installed, it can be downloaded from the Canon USA website.  Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MG2520.  Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:
    1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
    2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "SOFTWARE" section and click the Easy-PhotoPrint EX file.  When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once you have downloaded the file, please double-click on it and follow the prompts to install the program on your computer.
Once the program is installed, please follow these steps to print a photo:
    1. Open Easy-PhotoPrint EX.
    2. Once inside of the application, you will see a folder structure on the left-hand side where you can select a photo or image. Please navigate to the location of the photo/image you would like to print. When you do, all available images in that location should appear in the right pane of the window. Please note: If a screen appears with options to Photo-Print, Create an Album, Sticker Print, etc., please select the PHOTO-PRINT option to view the area with the folder structure.
    3. Underneath each of the photos appearing in the right pane of the window, you will see a n up and down arrow, as well as a "0". Please click the UP arrow once underneath the image you would like to select, then click the PAPER SELECTION tab at the top of the window.
    4. On the PAPER SELECTION TAB, please select the PRINTER, PAPER SOURCE, PAPER SIZE, and MEDIA TYPE, then click the LAYOUT/PRINT tab at the top of the window.
    5. Please select the desired layout from the left-hand pane of the window. When you do, a preview of what the image should look like when printed will appear in the right-hand pane of the window.
    6. Once you have selected a layout, please click the PRINT button. The photo/image should print.

  • Set printer tray and page size

    hi every body
i create two reports and i want to print these reports from different printer trays for excemple first report from (upper papaer tray) and second from (lower paper tray)i want all of this automaticaly user can not select tray at runtime print automaticaly goes to set tray by default
second problum is i create report on legal size when i run report in runtime the page setup shows letter size
how can i solve these problums
    thanks in advance
    allah hafiz

    Hi Faiz,
There are 2 places where you need to worry about paper size in your report:
    1. When you design the report, you need to make sure that your report is designed according to the paper size that you would finally print on. For this, you first set Reports properties "width" and "height", and then design your report such that everything fits in this size. This has nothing to do with what physical paper size is chosen by the printer at runtime. This merely ensures that the report will be formatted according to the report width and height that you have set.
If at runtime, your actual paper size in the printer is different (eg, you design according to legal, but you printer contains letter), you can use the property PAGESIZE in your command line to dynamically change the paper size in your report, and Reports will try to format your report accordingly. Again, this property PAGESIZE does not switch the physical paper in the printer. It only ensures that the report is formatted according to what you specify as width and height.
    2. You want to set the "physical" paper size that the report will finally print on. This is controlled by the printer. In reports, you can control which tray should be chosen, but you cannot control what physical paper size it should print on. This is controlled by the printer. Report will print on the paper size that is present in the relevant printer tray.

  • Spread image across two pages and print the full pages

    Hi there,
Im having a bit of trouble with InDesign CS3.
I want to place an image across two facing pages but can't seem to make it go further than one page.
Also I want to figure out how to print full pages, currently I am only able to print what is contained in the pruple bounding box on the page, any part of the image outwith this is cropped off leaving a white border on the page - this isn't an issue for all but my title page and this two page image I require.
    Any tips.
    Cheers
    malc

I don't understand the inability to place an image that spans two pages (not that I necessarily think this is a good thing to do under most circumstances, but that's a different discussion). Can you see both pages in the same spread? How about providing some details about what you are doing, and maybe a screen shot showing what's happening. Perhaps you're using a frame on the master page?
The second part sounds like a printer issue, but that's hard to know without knowing what your "purple" guides (presumably the page margins) are set to. Most printers are not able to print to the edge of the sheet of paper, regardless of what might be included on the page, so you get a white border that will vary in size depending on the printer model. Generally speaking, to print a bleed you must extend the items beyond the page edge (to insure there is no white edge left fom misaligment in the cutter) and print on a larger sheet, then trim to finished size.

  • Z3200 won't print to custom page size

    Hello,
I've created a banner that is 23"w x 82"h (in CorelDraw Suite 4).  The page setup of the Corel file is 23" w x 82"h.  I've been trying to print it on the z3200 designjet, but have had no luck.  I created several custom page sizes (23" x 82", 24" x 85", 24" x 82") using both the "Printer Properties" dialogue within CorelDraw as well as adding a "Form" in the "Print Server Properties", none of them work.  I've set the correct paper (24" wide HP Bright White Bond, feeding from the roller) on  the actual printer itself, and in the Printer Properties.
I've played around with all of the different settings that I can and sometimes see the following error message:
[1/1]Paper size selected (width:23.00 inches, height: 82.00 inches) is larger than loaded paper (width: 24 inches).  Please verify your printer setup.
When the page prints, it is resizing the content to be 8.5" wide.
I don't know what I'm missing.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance,

  • Printing to PDF: prints the wrong page size and orientation

I am trying to print a simple 60 page document composed of 8 x 11 inch pages to a pdf. I want the pdf in spreads, so that 2 8x11 inch pages in portrait orientation will be next to each other as a spread. Each time I try to print, the pdf comes out in the wrong orientation or the wrong size or both. When I export it to a pdf, it is the right orientation and page size, but the file size is way too large. So how do I fix this annoying problem? I have tried adjusting the print setup but it still won't print right. This seems like a simple operation, but indesign has been giving me trouble with this for weeks. I should mention I'm using CC. Thank you.

Go to the AdminUI ( http://<servername>:<port>/adminui ), and to Services, PDF Generator.  Pick File Type Settings, and click on the Standard entry.  If you pop open the HTML to PDF section, you can edit the size, margins, orientation, headings and footers, site recursion, and pdf initial view settings.  <br /><br />Save your settings as a new Filetype (you can make as many as you want), and pass the name the filetype as the second parameter to the call to the htmlToPDF method on the web service client.<br /><br />http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/sdkHelp/programmer/javadoc/com/adobe/livecycle/g eneratepdf/client/GeneratePdfServiceClient.html<br /><br />I am unfamiliar with interacting directly with the web services via SOAP, so if you are not using the pre-built GeneratePdfServiceClient supplied by Adobe and this information does not solve your issue you will need to see if anybody else can help.  I imagine that there is a similar String parameter where you place the Filetype name defined in the AdminUI.<br /><br />(edit: I should mention, the GeneratePdf service is a part of PDF Generator ES, not Output ES, so you may have better luck in the general Livecycle ES forum)

  • Printing to odd page size changes size of artwork

I am working on a MacBook Pro running Leopard 10.5.5. I've got an Illustrator document that is about 47x33in. When I print it to PDF, the PDF page size is 47x33in, but the artwork has shrunk considerably in the center of the page. I have Acrobat 8 Pro 8.1.2 installed. This was not a problem when using the same version of Acrobat on Tiger 10.4.8.
What I want to do is this: select the Adobe PDF 8.0 printer from the printer dropdown box, choose Custom from the Media Size dropdown box (this recognizes the page size and appears to fit things accordingly), then print. Currently, this gives me the messed up output.
The only workaround I've found has way too many steps (there are a LARGE number of AI files that need to be printed to PDF, and I don't want to have to do the following steps for each one):
    - Select 'Defined by Driver' from Media Size dropdown box
    - Choose 'Page Setup', then select 'Adobe PDF 8.0' from Format for dropdown box
    - Choose appropriate paper size from Paper Size dropdown box. Click OK.
    - Ensure Orientation is correct, then click PRINT.
    - If the document was landscape, I then have to open in Acrobat, rotate the page, and resave.
    Any ideas?

That works fine, except for the fact that it does not reduce the file size at all, which printing to PDF will do.

  • Printing from Custom Page Size

I am trying to print on custom DVD cover paper, 8.25 by 11.75", 1/2 margins with perferations on those margins. I set it all up and the program prints too far to the left and too far down, missing the set margins, 1/2 inch all around,  and the pereferations. Let's hope someone can help me out.
I have been trying to solve this for quite a while. My work around is print on legal paper and trim. Or, I was told, save as a PDF and print that, which I have yet to try
I have done all kinds of fliers and brochures and never has this problem until I got into custom page size.
    I suspect "Operator Error".
I have the same problem on two diifferent system set ups.
Win 2000, PageMaker and an HP printer, DeskJet 932 .
Vista, InDisign, an Epson Printer Artisan 50 Series, brand new.
I can set it up perfectly in the program and on the screen in either program but no matter what I do it will not print out correctly. I have combed through the printer settings and can find nothing wrong, but there is a solution someplace.
    Thank you!
    Cheers!  Phil

How far "off" is the positioning? +/- a few mm is the best you can hope for on a desktop printer, with some drift from sheet to sheet being very likely.
If it's more than that, it might be that's you've included marks and/or set page positioning to upper left instead of centered.
