Preview signature crossed out

I have been trying to fill out a number of PDFs with Apple Preview on my Mac Mini OS X Version 10.9.2, however the signature fields always have to diagonal lines, crossing out the signature field.
When I print the PDF, the signature field still has the two diagonal lines over the signature field, stopping me from physically signing the document.
I have setup the Preview Signature manager so I can add my digital signature if I was able to, however this option has only been available once, from what I remember.
Any suggestions please?

Thank you for the reply.
Yes, I have tried deleting the crossed out lines in the signature field, however this is not possible.
I solved the issue with a work around...Apple Adobe Reader for the signature.
Had to uninstall Adobe Reader after as it takes over and always opens pdfs, often requests updates...quite a pain until uninstalled.

  • Purchased Apps Icon Crossed Out

I recently had to restore Mountain Lion OS from the recovery partition.
Now some of the apps that I purchased from the App store, such as Aperture, have a crossed out icon. When I go to the App Store application and select "Purchases" it shows Aperture as installed yet I can not launch Aperture. The icon for the Aperture app is crossed out. The App store will not let me reinstall it.
I used the Disk Utility to repair permissions but the icon is still crossed out and the app does not launch.
Some other programs such as iMovie and Garageband also had their icons crossed out but I was able to reinstall them through the App Store.
How can I get Aperture back?

That means that you have Aperture on the hard drive. If you have an external drive connected, disconnect it. Then, check where Aperture could be. To do it, press Command and Space keys, and type "Aperture" in the Spotlight popup, so it will search Aperture on the hard disk. If it finds the the folder, hold Option and Command keys, so the location will show up below the preview. Just go to that folder and delete Aperture.
Finally, open App Store > Purchases and install Aperture

  • Canon MP780 Color Option, Quality and Media, etc crossed out for SOME apps

    Hi,
I have a Canon MP 780 attached to an old G4 macbook (running 10.4.11) that I'm using as a print server via printer sharing. I'm sending print jobs from a MBPro 2.4 GHz Core Duo running Snow Leopard (10.6.2)
Before I updated to Snow Leopard, all the MP 780 printer functions worked perfectly. Now the Color Options, Quality and Media, Duplex Printing, Special Effects, Borderless Printing and Duplex Printing are crossed out for some application, but not for others. For example, I can print in Duplex from Microsoft Word and Pages, but not from Preview or Safari.
If I do the print job directly from the old MB that's acting as the print server, all the options are available, so this seems to be related to either Snow Leopard or printer sharing.
I have downloaded and installed all the latest drives/software I could find in the CanonUSA website.
Any thoughts on how to get these print services up and running for all my applications?
    Thanks!
    Pete

    Hello Pete,
What you are seeing is a result of using a 32bit driver when using a 64bit application. Preview and Safari are 64bit, while MS Word and Pages are 32bit.
The solution is to use a driver that is written for 64bit (or more so the plugins used with the driver, such as Quality & Media, are 64bit). However, checking the Canon web site, there does not appear to be a 64bit driver available for your model.
So, you could look at forcing the 64bit apps, like Preview and Safari, to open in 32bit mode. With the application closed, find its icon in Finder > Application. Select it and perform a Get Info (File > Get Info or Command I). The Info window that appears will have a button that shows 'Open in 32-bit mode'. Tick this checkbox, close the Info window and then open the application. Now you should find that the Canon plugins such as Quality & Media should be available without the line through them.

  • Utilities Applications grayed and crossed out, "No longer supported"?

Originally I wanted to Verify and Repair my Disk Permissions since I've been having difficulty with my disk drive [playing the Sims 3, it told me that there was an error in the Disk Authorization and that the disk was not found in the drive]. Following the instructions on the Sims 3 site to fix this problem, one solution would work then it would fail again so I continued down the line of fixes until it told me that "Its possible you might  be experiencing some damage in your permissions or an issue with your start up disk please follow these steps below." Then proceeded to tell me how to verify and eventually repair which entailed going to the Utilities folder and opening the app "Disk Utility". But when I got to the Utilites folder I found that all of the application icons where grayed out and crossed out in white. When I attempted to open any app a window would tell me, "You can't open the application <app name> because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Now I found a question/discussion nearly identical to this, only it was in the Leopard discussions, and I obviously have Lion. The one reply on this subject suggested two things, both of were not options for me and the other user with this problem. Link: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1826047?threadID=1826047
I have no idea what to do at this point, I just want my Mac to work for once and let me play my **** Sims.
If it helps, I have a MacBook Pro, mid 2007, with many different applications installed, I recieved it as a hand-me-down two years ago and I'm not so familiar with all of the applications, so I couldn't begin to tell you what exactly is on here.

PPC apps won't run in Lion. Sorry that you missed that small detail before upgrading.

Please google search for "Mountain Lion disk crash" before upgrading you mac pro. You might need to replace you Mac hard drive after the upgrade. So many people had the same problems including me.

  • White screen with a crossed out circle which flickers to the Apple logo sometimes, but won't open. What can I do to open it?

Help!!  I'm in Belize (not a good place to be with an Apple, as international as you may claim to be!) and my computer decided to "quit" thusly:
White screen with a crossed out circle which flickers to the Apple logo sometimes, but won't open. What can I do to open it? (I do have my recently backed up data with me, but no loading discs for my computer.
    Hoping there is a solution,
    Diana

The make of the disk doesn't really tell us how your data is being backed up onto that disk. Do you know what software it uses?
For example Time Machine copies files every hour in a way that is not bootable, but you can extract those files & get all your data back into a working OS.
Carbon Copy Cloner duplicates a disk in a way that is bootable - it would appear when holding alt at startup so you could use that to boot & inspect the state of the internal disk.
It may also be Seagate's own software that does something different.
Please try recovery mode, if that works you can try repairing the disk in Disk Utility.
OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
If that works, select Disk Utility & see if the internal disk can be repaired in the first aid tab.
Recovery mode can also download OS X & reinstall it, however you really need to know if the backup contains everything before that is attempted, otherwise you may lose data. The OS is also around 5GB so you may have issues if your internet is capped or unstable etc.
    P.S.
I have no idea if this is helpful, but there may be help out there…?

  • Can you "Cross out" a photo in Indesign CS5?

Hi all,  I'm working on a user manual and there is a photo in the manual that needs to be swapped/replaced with the correct photo. However, for now, I want to leave the wrong photo in and get to it later--but how do I marked it as WRONG? In other words, is it possibnle to put a red X over it or a way to "cross out" the photo so we know it's wrong and will be replaced later? OK, I can try to add a rectangle frame as a placeholder, is there a way to 'note it' so I remember what I need to do with that rectangle? How do you guys handle placeholders?
Any tips or methods would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why not just but a big X over it by drawing a text frame and typing an X?
I’m not really sure what the problem…or question…is.
Let's try to find as much ways to do it -- one of them might answer the question!
    2. Two separate crossing lines.
    3. A text frame with a one-cell table, with in that cell the option Diagonal lines set to Crossing lines.

  • Content is crossed out (strike through) in alert but not inside list

I can't find the pattern...why all of the content in a 'description' type text field is crossed out when the alert is sent.  It is not all items in a list that behave this way...just a few.  There is no strike through on the actual content
in the list field....just in the actual MS Outlook alert.
    ideas?

    Hi laughingtooomuch,
Normally, whenever we receive an Alert notification on something that has changed. The email will indicate exactly what has changed by crossing out the old value and
replacing it with the new value. It is by design.

  • Track changes-deletions shown in bubbles v. cross out in text

Is there an option of showing deletions as cross-outs in the text rather than in bubbles on the side (like the option available in Word)?

    mhn,
When Tracking is On, you have controls at the bottom of the Tool Bar. Every option you could desire is there regarding what is displayed with respect to tracking. See page 70 of the English version of the Pages 09 User Guide PDF.

  • Adobe Acrobat. Change "Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, ..." also for highlights made before changing the setting

I am looking for a solution to apply the "Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, and Underline comment pop-ups" setting to highlights that I made before I changed this setting.
Someone wrote a batch for this which costs 60 dollar and this seems to do what I am looking for: Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Retroactively Copy Highlighted Text into Comments
Where can I find Adobe's solution for this problem?  I do not want to buy external batches for a professional software suit.
I expect that this is a common problem for people who start to organize a large literature base with many pdfs and must keep track of highlighted text. I was not previously aware of the "Copy selected..."setting, but I need to change it now for all my pdf files to make them compatible with a reference manager that I want to use. New comments are now compatible, but the hundreds(!) of pdfs that I worked through before are not, so copy pasting the highlighted text into comments is not an option.

    Hi gb145,
You are posting on acrobat.com online service forums.
Kindly post this query in Acrobat forums:Acrobat

  • IPad Air crossed out play button in Safari

I am unable to watch any quicktime (mp4) embedded videos on Safari (or Chrome!) on my new iPad Air.   It shows a crossed out play button.  I have reset the cache and reset the iPad but it is still not working.
I noticed this yesterday when trying to watch the iPhone/Apple Watch Keynote.  I thought it was an issue with the streaming servers but the bug is also affecting all other websites.

Don't restore just yet. Next I would reset all settings. Sometimes that can fix hinky issues. It's a bit of a pain as well, but you don't lose any data. You do lose all of your preferred settings and you will have enter them all again on the iPad.
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

  • Webcam works in options, but is crossed out for ca...

This is for my wife's 32 bit Ubuntu laptop.  Both it and Skype are up to date as of right now.
I just got a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 for her.  I plugged it in and Cheese recognized it immediately, but wouldn't show up in Skype Video Options.
I edited the Skype file as recommended in the threads here and the camera showed up in Skype Video Options.
But when I make a call the camera icon in Skype is still crossed out.  The person I'm calling doesn't currently have a camera, but if the camera icon weren't crossed out they should be able to see my camera, right.
Hey Skype!  This is way too much trouble!

Having similar issue; webcam is recognized and functions under "Options" but have no "Video Call" button to make a video call. Skype only displays txt and voice call buttons. Contacts are online and have video. Contacts see me as online and with video, and can even "Video Call" me but cannot see me; I see and hear them fine, but they cannot see me.
Problem experienced on an HP Compaq Pasario running Ubuntu 10.04.1, 12.04.1, and finally Mint 14.1 (both cinnamon and mate) with all software packages updated and current. Spent the entire day yesterday going through fresh installs and setup trying each separately with the same result every time; webcam is recognized and functions under "Options" but have no "Video Call" button to make a video call.
Camera being used is a Logitech c270h which works great with Skype on two other PCs (Dell Laptop, Dell Tower) one running Ubuntu 10.04.1 and 12.04.1 (both LTS).
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  • Crossed out symbol instead of an apple during start up

Start ups have been getting slower and slower for me and now I can't even get past the white screen. I now have a crossed out symbol instead of an apple during start up and the wheel is just spinning. I tried to start it up in safe mode and this is what I get. Even if I get to the login screen, things are frozen and I can't entrer my credentials either with mouse or keyboard. Typing this in from a PC. Yikes! Help!

I just upgraded to mountain lion osx and now my applications are crossed out and out of date. they will not run. how do i fix this?

Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will open, modify and save your data files;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
