Preview stopped working?!

I ran CleanMyMac program and then suddenly the next day I found that the preview stopped working.
I tried clearing the cache , containers , Preferences , SavedApplicationState inside the Library folder still I dont find it opening.

5. How do I enable TDM?
Make sure both computers are turned on and awake.
Connect a male-to-male Mini DisplayPort or ThunderBolt cable to each computer.
Press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac being used as a display to enable TDM.
Note: In Keyboard System Preferences, if the checkbox is enabled for "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard functions keys," the key combination changes to Command-Fn-F2.

Gif file preview stopped working

New computer. Gif file preview was working last night and now I'm just getting a still picture. I installed Photo Impact Pro and that program may have made some changes. I can't preview gifs in that program. Anyone know a way to restore this feature? I would like to be able to click on a gif file and see it move in preview like it was doing.

First of all you have to make analysis of the issue.. why its comming..
thats why i had suggested you to uninstall your newer installed software.. by uninstalling them you can analyse the issue.
may be programme hadnt installed correctly thats why you are getting this error.
Please, try to troubleshoot the issue by your self.. uninstall the programme and then check.. if our .gif works with older programme perfectly then your newely installed programme having issue or it was not installed correctly..
you can install your uninstalled programme later to resolve that issue.

The preview stopped working in the develop module.

Initially the preview worked for 15 minutes and then stopped generating a preview of the desired pre-set.
Clicking on the pre-set did have the correct picture but the preview wasn't available.
It would be easier to see what preview you were looking at if you had a higher contrast on the grey background too.

Hi - I'm seeing the same issue. And yes I am seeing it in Develop with Grid view on second monitor.
I can reproduce this by hovering over another image in Grid on second monitor (this brings up the new image in Navigator), then going back to main screen and hovering over any preset - no more preset updates to Navigator.
Interestingly navigator continues to show files if hovered over in Grid on the second monitor though..
Presets continue to work if clicked so this seems to be purely an issue with updating Navigator with Presets 'on the fly'.

Live preview stopped working?

Hello,
I hope I am wording this correctly. I have never had this issue but I must have turned this feature off. When positioning an object I used to be able to see it move as I was adjusting its position on my composition. So like if I moved the Y position to 25 and then scrolled it along to say 32 I would watch the object move. THen one day it stopped doing that. I'm using a guide that the creative director sent over in order to make sure my elements line up correctly but without this preview it's just tedious. I was wondering if anyone knows what that function was called and then how to do I turn it back on?
Thanks so much, I am frustrated with it because I have never turned it off so I didn't even know that was an option.
I'm using AE CC on a Mac running Mavericks. It appears when I bring the project to my laptop it works just like it did before so I'm assuming I just turned off a feature.

Enable the live preview button in the timeleine. also, if that shouldn't be it, check your graphics acceleration stuff.

Excel Print preview stopped working and when save as pdf, pdf is blank

excel home and student 2011
i was working on 2 documents for our accountant.
created one in excel, converted to pdf
created second one in excel, converted to pdf
there was maybe a 30 minute time lapse between these 2 files...tops
the first file does in fact have a print preview, and the pdf opens and is viewable.
HOWEVER, on the second file, there is no print preview, and pdf is blank.
(although the printer does in fact print the file with all the words and whatnot on it...)
blank pdf prints blank.
i tried xlsx, and xls to pdf, and nothing works.
it seems that all of the files created before this troublesome one can be converted and seen in print preview....even if i add a new sheet to the workbook, that works just fine...can print preview and convert pdf no problems.
now, when i try to do that with the second file, or any new excel doc, i canNOT convert or print preview....everything is blank.
one minute it was working, the next it's not.
it works for some excel files while not working for newer ones.
nothing was changed in preferences for excel, preview, or the printer, unless i accidentally typed a keyboard command that would allow this to happen.
i REALLY need to be able to convert excel to pdf! and i really don't want to have to print them out just to scan them in and save the scans as pdf...not fun.
i have been researching, or trying to research this here,and it seems that there is a known bug for office 2008, or for a different OS, but none of the work arounds for those issues are helping me here!

Try different page setups and layouts. Reinstall the Office fonts, or check for new patches from Microsoft. Check in Microsoft Office forums. Mind you PDF from preview and print are not as complete as Adobe Acrobat Pro, and are based on open source PDF standards. I don't know how well the standards were at the time your Office application was written, or if 10.5's PDF standard was up to Office's snuff, or if you updating to the latest available Adobe Acrobat Reader and Plugin will help, but between Office's and Adobe's forum you may be abl eto find an answer.

CS4 Bridge Preview stops working

While in Bridge, if I press the space bar to zoom in on an image preview, the image enlarges just fine to full screen, but when I press the space bar again to return to the normal preview, the normal preview window is blank. It remains blank when I click on other images too. The only way I can get the normal sized preview to return is to go to "workspace" and re-click the workspace I was already in and it seems to clear the problem up - until I want to zoom in by using the spacebar again.
Another, possibly separate, problem is when I do use the space bar to zoom in on an image, if I click to zoom in even more, sometimes (not always) it tells me the image is "not available" and it does not zoom in any closer.
Does anyone have any input on this problem?

I have noticed the same thing regarding the missing preview after returning from space bar/review mode. I have what is supposed to be a CS4/OpenGL compatible card (Nvidia 8800GT).
I suppose this is one of those things that Adobe blames on Nvidia and Nvidia blames on Adobe.
I have found a relatively simple way to get the preview back though. I just minimize Bridge and then bring it back. That seems to work. In Windows, this can be done pretty easily by just clicking on Bridge in the task bar twice (once to minimize and once to bring it back).

Presenter 8- Theme Editor Preview stopped working

When I click on the Theme Tab the pop up window for the Theme Editor shows but the preview display has the Adobe Presenter pre-load screen and nothing else.
This was OK in the trial version and then it stopped. I just purchased the license and uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing changed.
I did a repair for MS Office 2010 thinking that maybe my Powerpoint got messed up.
I can change the theme but then I have to preview the current slide to see if I got what i wanted. .

Am having same problem. Checked in PowerPint Options/Add-Ins, and it listed the Adobe Presenter PowerPoint COM Addin's location as C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Presenter 8\MenuLauncher.dll. This suggests I'm actually running Presenter 8. Am I reading this correctly?

ERASER AND PENCIL PREVIEWS STOPPED WORKING

Hello. I have been running Adobe CS6 Photoshop extended for about 18 months, and tonight, a problem occurred that I am not able to fix. The eraser and pencil functions normally preview showing their diameter with an outline. I was working away, and doing some erasing, and suddenly, the preview diameter vanished, and only the center mark for the eraser and the pencil showed. I have no indication of how large the eraser and pencil are until I actually erase or draw, then they work, but I have no preview.
I checked for updates, and there are none, so I am up to date. I went to the reset tools, and did a reset, but that did nothing. I logged out of Photoshop, and restarted, and the problem still existed. I opened other Photoshop files, and the problem still existed. I tried turning on Photoshop while holding shift to disable external plug-ins (a desperate grab at a straw), and that didn't help.
What do I do? I can't use the pencil or eraser efficiently without a preview. Thank you, Chuck

After Effects Live Previews Stopped Working

When working inside of after effects my live previews are not working anymore, I used to have it so when I moved slider it would let me watch things, now that this has been disabled somehow its way harder for me to do my work done efficent & fast.

Viewing a folder full of images, it will only give me generic icons for previews.
folder options "show icon preview" is checked.
any ideas why it stopped previewing?

In addition to repairing permissions using Disk Utility, try the suggestions in [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1526528], specifically to 1) trash the Finder plist file and 2) try if the problem occurs when in another user account.

Preview stopped working in finder

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, my preview pane (the third one along with list and cover flow) in the file system ... isn't showing majority of documents in preview .... just staying as blank.
But if i drag the preview window out slightly from the edge, then the image appears??

Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash this file:
com.apple.finder.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You may have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

Preview stopped working macbook

Preview crashed a few days ago and now it's stuck in a crash loop. Everytime I try to open a file with preview, it tells me that the last time it was opened that it crashed and would I like to reopen it. If I click "reopen" it crashes again. And then repeat. I have restarted my computer but that has not helped. I NEED preview...HELP!!

mariano19, Silkrooster gave me this advice (so if it works try to give him credit for the fix) when I needed to re-install PSCC by using the Creative Cloud Manager on your PC. I never knew this was possible. You can select PS CC(2014) to basically reinstall it with this method.
In the manager, scroll down to the new apps installs you will see filters. Just change it to previous versions to see CC instead of CC (2014).
Yeah, I would uninstall both versions (which can now be done in the latest version of the manager on the same line as the app, look for the small icon)
You may want to do the manager as well (that is done in the windows add/remove programs window)
Wouldn't hurt to restart your computer then go to town installing it all fresh.
Hope this helps. Make sure that your CC Manager is at version 1.8.1.451 first.

Preview not working!!! Blank document appears!

My Preview stopped working! I downloaded a few PDF documents, thinking that Preview would automatically launch and open the files. Preview did launch, however, all I saw were blank white documents, nothing on them.
Next thing I did was open my Adobe Reader application and tried to read the PDF documents. Yes, it worked. I was able to see the documents.
But why is Preview not working correctly? What is happening?

Hi, Makiko. The version of Preview that came with Panther is old, and some of the features that newer PDF-creation software can build into PDF files may not be supported by it. In other words, your Preview application became static several years ago, while the PDF file format has continued to evolve. Your Preview can probably still open all the other file formats that it opened when it was new, but you may want to set things up so that all PDF files are handled by Adobe Reader instead. To do that, click once on any PDF file in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu. In the "Open with" section of the Get Info window, choose Adobe Reader from the drop-down menu, then click the Change All button. Close the Get Info window. Now all PDFs that you double-click will open in Adobe Reader.
Note that at present, the latest version of Adobe Reader that works in Panther is 7.1.0. If you have an earlier version, you may want to update it.

Adobe Illustrator CS2 preview icons stopped working

Has anyone seen this? Is there a solution?
All my .ai previews are now generic icons, they used to appear as a preview of the file under Tiger...This is really annoying -- I have hundreds of these!
(they seem to appear just fine under coverflow!)

I have the same problem (but I had it with Tiger to). First (with Leopard) it was OK, but it suddenly stopped working. I haven't changed anything and can't get it working again.
