Preview won't let me print.

If i try and print a .jpg or .pdf from preview it gives me :
"Changing the destination paper to 8 1/2x11 would cause a conflict that cannot be resolved. No change will be made."
and then closes or just doesn't print.
This started about a month ago.
I'd be very greatful for any info on how I can get the abilitty to print back.
I can still print from word but i need to be able to print pictures directly again.

That means your original library is damaged and requires first aid. Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

I purchased this printer in late Dec 2013 and it HAS worked before & continues to "make noise" when it is turned on. This is Very Frustrating and Inconvient since I have a Business from my home. traceyss--this might work on mac air: on google cloud print i went to the cloud site http://w.x.y.z(put in your numbers) and then menu-utilities-energy saving settings, where i turned off "auto off" (clicking on it leads you to this choice) and turned on "auto on." then i turned off printer and restarted in 5 seconds to get the changes into the mg3520's little brain: so far, so good(on a chromebook). hope this works for you!--ceaisland55

AEBS, won't let me print wirelesly. problem over 2 months, please help.

I can not print wirelesly via AEBS, please help it drives me crazy.
Our computers:
Macbook pro 2ghz, lates update 10.4.6
G4 powerbook, latest update 10.4.6
AEBS latest update V5.7
Epson RX500, with latest updates on our machines.
We have ADSL conection. I have a router which connects AEBS to the internet.
Both G4 and Macbook connects without problem to the internet.
Epson printer is connected to AEBS.
When I tried to add printer in macosx I'm able to see the printer. I follow instructions and printer is added. I can see the name of printer and lokation on AEBS. All is corect, but won't let me print wirelesly. (with usb no problem).
I played with AEBS utility where funny thing happend. There is in Network share a single IP address. When I change it from 10.0.1.1 to 192.168.1.1 addressing then I can print, but internet doesn't work. (192.168.1.1 is my zyxel router so I understand that should not work anyway).
If I set it back 10.0.1.1 than internet works and printing not.
what else should I configure?

You should ensure that under the Network Tab, the AEBS is configured to NOT distribute IP addresses as you already have the Zyxel router doing that function on your network.

I purchased Pages and it won't let me print, save or export documents. It keeps telling me I have to buy I-Work because my free trial is over.

You have to delete the iWork trial first. Then install iWork or Pages again.
You cannot completely delete iWork by moving the iWork '09 folder to the Trash. Instead, use Yvan Koenig's script:
          •          Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
          •          Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
          •          Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button

Preview won't let me duplicate, edit and save jpeg?

I have a jpeg image that I need to make bigger. (Site needs higher resolution in order to print to canvas) I made a duplicate in Preview then did Tools-Adjust size. I chose the size, then hit save but the system won't let me save the bigger version. I read on another thread something about the color code thing (CMYK?)... forgive me, I don't know all the correct words and phrases. But everything I've tried isnt fixing the problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

It probably isn't because it's CMYK, because I just tried a CMYK image and it was fine.
Can you be more specific about what the system tells you when it won't let you save?
Does it allow the Save command but give you an error message?
Does it allow the Save command but nothing happens?
Does it disallow the Save command so you can't even choose it?
Where do you ask it to name and save the copy?
Are you trying to save the copy over the original?

My HP Deskjet 3050A won't let me print via my laptop!

I've had my printer quite a while now (about 3 years) it is a hp deskjet 3050A and has been set up with wireless. It prints off fine when I send something via Iphone, Ipod or Ipad over wifi, but when I try to send something via my laptop over the wifi (new toshiba with windows 8), it wont let me. How do I sort this problem out as I do not want to get a new printer. Why won't it let me print from my laptop?

OK so you have a new computer with Windows 8. You did install the new software and drivers for Windows 8 right? This always has to be done.

IMac won't let me print on both sides using my hp D2400 printer

I just received my iMac and was trying to print on both sides using my hp D2400. But, on the option page, it won't let me choose "Print on both sides". Why? How do I fix it? Thanks!!

From the HP Support site, have you done the following, as you need to:
Install or update the HP software with Apple Software Update
Choose your connection type for steps to install HP software using Apple Software Update.

J6480 Ink Cartridge Door Hinges Broke. Door Open error message won't let me print. What can I do?

Have always been very careful with cartridge & scanner doors. Pressing OK doesn't remove error message. Broken hinges will no longer go down, so Door Open message won't go away and preventing printing.

The problem is the spring tension used to hold the cover open is stronger than the poorly designed weak hinges.
The way I solved it was to break both the hinges, (pretty easy to do just open and close the cover a few times), lift the cover up being carefull not to break the ribbon cable (wires) from the cover to the base. Then I pryed out the lower spring plates, these are located in the hinge assembly of the printer and removed the black plastic plunger and the large springs below it from both hinges. The cover wil now stay closed and allow you to print. You just have to be careful when changing the print cartridges as the cover can open too far now and possibly break the wires going to the top cover.

Won't let me print documents from website link

For this specific website, when I try to print a document it will automatically download it for me but it won't print. I will click on the download and it will open up on Word, but since it is coded it will not show properly. How can I get it to print directly from the print link on the website? I've tried resetting it and it still won't print.

I installed a HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z (Network) printer but Firefox won't let me print to it: unknown error.

When I attempt to print or print preview I get the following message "An unknown error occurred while printing."

If the printer is connected USB to the Windows 7 machine, what you can do is share it to the network (assuming the XP computer is also connected to the same network). This way the XP machine can see the printer on the Windows 7 computer and install it. The only drawback is that the Windows 7 computer will need to be powered on for the XP computer to be able to see and print to it. Printer won't let laptop print unless desktop on

I have an HP Officejet 8600 Plus E- All-in-one printer set up in a small office (5 people). When employees are using their laptops and wish to send something to print; unless the desktop in the reception area is on, it seems that they are not able to print to the wireless printer. I tried to contact support but my printer is no longer able to receive HP Support help. Hopefully someone out there can tell me why this is an issue. We are all connected to the same WIFI source that the printer is connected to. Every laptop has either downloaded or installed the software and driver information. The desk top can even phisically be on, but sleeping and someone will have to either move the mouse or log back in to get back to the desk top in order to allow a laptop user to print. No error alerts pop up on the desk top when this happens either. Not sure if this is something as simple as unchecking a box thats in settings or if there is a bigger issue. ALL and any help would be appreciated. We have tried to disconnect and reconnect, forgetting the printer and then reinstalling... nothing seems to change.

My Airport express won't let me print

I have a network where I am using an Airport Extreme as my wireless router and an Airport Express as a print server. My printer is an Epson Artisan Series 50 printer. I can print directly from my Mac Book Pro but the network printing is no longer working.

Apple's Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule is a good place to start the process.
Sometimes the last step.....resetting the print system will work miracles.....but it is a good idea to work your way through the guide step by step.
I assume that you have already done the basics like performing a complete sequenced power cycle of your entire network.
If you have not done this......power down the entire network.....all devices......power down order is not important.
Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first and let it run a full minute by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Keep starting devices one at a time a minute apart until everything is powered back up

When I try and print a web page in the print screen ALL the Print Frame options are greyed out. It won't let me print a page as I see it. I need to pring a page as is. How do I do it in the new 8.0??

As far as printing a page as you see it, many web pages use '''print.css''' files for print-media. The print.css specifies exactly what is to be sent to the printer and it can control the formatting of the printed page.
