Previewing Rif files in Bridge

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a plug or something that will help previewing rif files (corel painter) in bridge.
I know there is an application that can do that, but I prefer to work with one and not many so i'm not looking for a workaround....

Found A Quick Look plugin for viewing Painter files for win/mac here. http://painterfactory.com/blogs/spikes_blog/search.aspx?q=rif+file After installing you have to resave your file in Painter then you will get a preview you where looking for.

Can't preview RAW files in Bridge CC.
When i try to upate Bridge, it says:
Bridge is unable to check for updates, cause it can't connect to the internet or user is logged in as a non-administrative user.
So then i have to log in as a administrative user to the Bridge...and update..
Can't it be done easier???
I must also say i have also Bridge CS6 installed on pc and there everything is working fine.

1/ Adobe Bridge should be possible to open without administrator issue.
By default it does, something seems wrong with your install
2/the images DO appear first for 2 or 3 seconds , then it turns to a RAW file icon.
Again indicating a wrong install, you see the embedded jpeg previews briefly but then the Raw thumbs should be build. When you see the generic Raw icon this means you don't have the correct version of the ACR plug in installed to match your camera or no converter at all.

3/i only succeed in openening Bridge descently , so with ableing to see RAW files , WHEN i go to c:/progamfiles/Adobe/AdobeBridhecc/Bridge.exe
When, If i copy the exe file for opening Bridge CC and i put it on the Desktop, it DOES NOT Preview the RAW files.
Here you have lost me. As a Mac user I'm afraid I don't know nor understand anything about .exe, I download the .dmg file for an application which then automatically opens and I just click on the install icon, provide admin password and serial number once and then start using it without bothering about install ever again

I can't preview RAW files in Bridge CS5 or open them in Camera Raw

I've been using Photoshop CS5, Bridge and Camera Raw 6.7 with no problems whatsoever. I recently upgraded the OS on my MacBook Pro to 10.8.5 and can no longer preview RAW files in Bridge, or open them in Camera Raw.
I've downloaded the Adobe DNG converter, but would much prefer to using my existing workflow if possible.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help!

Adobe doesn't support CS5, an when I spoke to Apple, I was told that this is a known issue with OS 10.8.5 and that they're working on a patch. In the meantime I'm using Adobe's DNG as a workaround.
Have not heard before of this Known Issue, also find it hard to believe being true. But can't test my self because I only have CS6 and CC installed and always use Photodownloader to convert to DNG upon import. I have just installed the 10.8.5 update and checked in Bridge CC pointing to an attached card reader. no problem in showing the CR2 thumbs, it works as always and as expected.
To my knowledge Bridge CS5 is already 64 bits and I can't think of any valid reason why an OS update would cause this problem so suddenly (but I'm not a technician I have to confess…)
However, I would first try a check and repair permissions from Apple Disk Utility and also try Cocktail (good and cheap 3th party maintenance application for Mac) to clear caches and check permissions.
Also try a new user account just for testing to rule out your current account as the culprit.

I can't preview svg files in bridge cs6 on mac 10.6.8. Help!

Hi, I want to know why can't I preview svg files in bridge cs6 on mac 10.6.8. It's really frustrating as an increasing number of Illustrator files are saved in this format and I need to check through a gazillion of them. Help!

That was the reason why the thumbnail icons weren't showing up in Bridge. Saving to include XMP data somehow brings in the previews in Bridge.
I don't really need SVG files for print jobs (prefer .eps or .ai), however this appears to be the preferred file format at the picture library where I bought the vector images.
Darn, I was hoping that was not the solution, as in order to view the images in Bridge, I will first have to open and re-save them.
Seems painful but thanks all the same. Would there be a way in Bridge to batch open and re-save files in another format, say from .svg to .ai ?

Inconsistent Previewing Raw Files in Bridge

About two weeks ago, without warning, I was no longer able view my raw files in bridge. The strange thing is, when looking at raw files from a CD in bridge, it will give a preview of about 75% of the files. I am running leopard on my MAC OS X 10.5.4, using CS3, 1) always updating when it needs to be 2) i have reset all my preferences in bridge. Has anyone else run into this problem? Cheers

This sounds to me like you installed the updated plug-in incorrectly.
It's a common mistake to pick the wrong plug-in folder when copying Camera Raw. Unlike Photoshop plug-ins, plug-ins which work in Bridge must be installed in the 'Common Files' directory branch. On my computer, Camera Raw (Camera Raw.8bi) can be found here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CSx\File Formats
Similar Photoshop-only plug-ins are located here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx\Plug-ins\File Formats
Note that they are similar but different, and consequently quite easy to confuse. Also note that you should ONLY HAVE ONE copy of 'Camera Raw.8bi' installed (or two if you're running 64-bit Photoshop). So, if you previously installed the update in the wrong place, you should remove it, and put it in the correct place.

Can't preview NEF files in Bridge to see/sort/rate

I've purchased CS6 and cannot view my new nikon d800 NEF files in Bridge. I can see them in Lightroom, but have always used bridge to sort/rate my images before importing them.

Just upgraded from CS3 to CS6 .
I also use Corel Painter and was able to preview Corel's Rif. files in the CS3 Bridge. In CS 6 unable to preview, Rif. files show up as Icons. I'm I missing a setting in preferences ?.

Preview SVG's in Bridge?

When I try and preview SVG files in Bridge CS4, they just come up as icons. Is it possible to preview them in Bridge, either with a plugin or change in preferences I'm missing. I appreciate any help.

If you have the CS4 suite including Illustrator CS4 it should be possible to
view them in Bridge. Check the Bridge preferences file type associations,
they are there and check if you have Illustrator CS4 selected as the
application the should be visible in the list.
And also select one file and with right mouse click menu choose purge cash
for selection. If that helps you can either use purge cache for Folder in
the Tools menu or select all other files and again choose purge cache for
selection.

How to play back mts files in Bridge CS 5.1?

I figured out that the reason of slow and stuttering playback of my AVCHD clips in Premiere was that I used re-wrapped H.264 files in .mov container. That makes it easy to visualize them in QT or in the Finder, but Premiere cannot play them smoothly. The original .mts files play smoothly in Premiere, but they are not recognized in Bridge. What gives? How can I make Bridge to use the playbacl engine of Premiere so that I can first add metadata and annotations to my clips (in Bridge) and then edit them in Premiere?

yes I second that! It'd be quite helpful to preview MTS files in Bridge - especially since you can't preview them in PPro either!

Preview multiple artboards in bridge

Hi,
I am using the subscription service so I have the most current version of illustrator and Bridge. When I create multiple artboards in an illustrator file and I then preview that file in Bridge I am only able to preview one page/artboard at a time. What I would like to do is see an overview of the illustrator file and all artboards at once with the ability to zoom in and out in bridge at high resolution the more I zoom in.
I have found if I save my illustrator file with the "create pdf compatible file" option not checked it does work but it does not allow me to see a hi-res preview of the entire file (all artboards at once) in bridge. I am just let with a low res preview of the entire file.
Any help is appreciated.

The next question is how do you re-order artboards? In other words, if I add a new overall artboard and it becomes #5, how do I change it to become number one and push all the numbers for the other artboards up a number?

Corel Painter RIF Files In Adobe Bridge CS5.1?

Hello,
Does anyone know how I can view Corel Painter 12 RIF file thumbnails in Adobe Bridge CS5.1 For Windows? Right now Bridge just shows a blank icon. When I used Painter 11, the RIF file icons showed a thumbnail of its image in Bridge. When I upgraded to Painter 12 this went away. I can see the Painter RIF file thumbs in Windows Explorer, but not within any Adobe application.

Yep, same here. Running Adobe bridge CS5.1, upgraded to Mountain Lion yesterday. Navigated to folder that contained a zip file and Bridge crashed. I removed the zip file, launched Bridge again,and went to that same folder. Worked perfectly. On a hunch, I dragged a zip file back into that folder in Bridge, and *WHAP* down she goes again.
Looks like we wait for a fix. *sigh*
Unless...File type association somehow comes into it? Interesting, I just checked (it's under Preferences) and neither a zip file or a doc file is in the list.
Furthermore, there doesn't seem to be any way to add a new file type. Hm. Don't know if it has anything to do with the crashing, but man, what a pain this is!

How do I preview .eps or .ai files in Bridge CC? I only see the icon thumbnail and the file name but not a preview pic of what is in the file.

A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.

Bridge (CS5) stopped previewing avi Files.

All of a sudden can't preview avi files (dv-avi mainly) in bridge. Other files show ok.
I get the thumbnails but no preview. Bridge is a part of CS5 Production Premium.
Used to be ok. Haven't made any changes to the PC (Win7 Pro 64bit)

Movie fles can be tricky. I also have some avi files that have no thumb and others that do. However, they all play.
Check the edit/preferences/playback and see if the correct boxes are checked.
Also, check Quicktime and see that it is up to date. If it has been updated recently perhaps that has caused the problem. Believe Bridge uses Quicktime for video preview.

How to preview a .PAT file in Bridge (Photoshop Pattern File)

How can I preview a pattern (.PAT) file in Bridge? Bridge seems to be able to preview just about anything, but .pat files just show up with a default PS icon.

I don't see that as one of the supported files in Bridge (preferences/file type associations), so would guess you have to live with default icon.
