Previews do not show correctly

Hi,
I have previously used LR only occasionally and mainly done all my work with Photoshop. Now started seriously using LR 3.2 instead. Imported all my aproximately 40 000 ready made pictures (mainly 16 bit PSDs but also TIFFs and jpegs) into one LR cataloque Some of the pictures show (at least quite) OK in LR (both Library and Develop modules and both thumbs and full size previews), but most seem to be like approximately 2 Fstops overexposed (meaning useless for any further adjustments or assements even). When I open them in Photoshop (from within LR using crtl_E) they show as they should. This is a known issue in CS5 Bridge with JPEGs, but in LR it seems to affect also PSDs and TIFs. It is annoying because what I wanted to do with LR was to reduce the nuber of my many copies of the same original, which had been accumulated within years. LR library cleverly collected all the copies from the same original one after another from the many folders where they had been stored. Now decicing which are worth keeping and which not is almost impossible.
Sorry folks I am a PC user. My PC is as follows:Phantom GTX - Core i7 950 / 12GB / GTX470 / 1TB / BLU-RAY. OS is Win 7 ultimate 64bit. I use double screens. The main screen is Lacie 319. The screen is calibrated using Spyder 3 Elite, software version 4.0 (previously Blue eye one which unfortunaltely does not support Win7 64 bit). The system has four 2 Terabyte hard drives. My other Adobe software are CS 5 Master Collection and Acrobat 9. I also use DXO (After CS 5 more rarely but having or having not used it in the pictures affectetd did not seem to matter). I am printing to Epson 4800 via Image Print RIP, but cannot see how this could affect the LR (and Bridge) previews.
All in all with Bridge the issue is annoying, but with LR it is almost a catastrophe, because it actually renders LR useless in the work where it was meant to. However, the issue affects only pictures which are imported to LR awith all the adjutments already undertaken. The raws can be adjusted and they also show OK.

I am a bit new with my present system (meaning Win 7 and the graphics
card). In my previous systems the monitor profile could be changed
directly from the desktop, but now had to change it from the control
panel. Got advice from b-gossweiler (thanks). BUT it did not change a
thing. Lightroom still "overexposes" the previews when compared to
Photoshop started from within the Lightroom by clicking ctrl_E.
Because I have calibrated my display for printing the brightness is
set low (to 100), but this should not be a problem to dedicated
software. Rather I think there is a bug in there, which also affects
JPEGs in Bridge. I can send screenshots to show this, but I do not
need to prove the bug rather I would like to have it worked out. Of
course you cannot do it but I suggest you to check your systems to
know whether only 64bit Win 7 is affected.

I am suggesting that you try it because it is known that Lr doesn't
alway play well with some monitor profiles. Taking same out of the
loop can help as it either confirms that the profile is/isn't the
source of the problem. You need to temporarily make sRGB your
default monitor profile to carry out the test.

Spot colors not showing correctly in the output preview as well as the page correctly. I have a spot pms
295 on a page in a few different areas of text and backgrounds. The spot color shows on 1 of my backgrounds
and text and a spot color on another background does not. These items are on the same page. Although I
can use the eyedropper to check the color of these items and it states the spot color is present. The page
also prints correctly. Previews not happening.

I included 3 screen shots from Acobat 11 of the test requested. Also, included the last screen shot from Acobat 9 of same file.
Which shows correct preview. To eliminate possible ICC profile issue. I did change profiles to all that were in the profile list
with no change in either test.

How do I report a video not showing correctly?

I tried to find a Contact Us to "Report an issue" but ended up chasing my tail.

The site you downloaded this NewVideoPlayerSetup.exe from was a scam as it uses the inexperience of users and popularity of Mozilla and the Firefox browser to trick people into installing stuff like this.
Next time if you are uncertain you should ask as somebody will then tell you if it is legitimate or not for example.

MiniDV Video in Affert Effects not showing correct ratio.

I'd like to know how to edit minidv video in its aspect ratio in After Effects. Video is 720 by 480 and 16 by 9 (non-square pixels). When I import the video, it's stretched too tall (set to square pixels I believe). No mater how many times I change the composition ration to widescreen, it still does not show correctly.
I seem to do fine in Premiere. It automatically sets the aspect ratio for minidv video. But I can't get After Effects to do it. I don't want to spend time creating something only for it to be squished in Premiere later.
So how to do create a composition that's 16 x 9 using non-square pixels 720 by 480 that can be edited into miniDV video in adobe premiere?

If you properly interpret your footage as widescreen (AE may guess incorrectly here) and put it in any square pixel comp it will not look distorted but it may or may not fill the frame. It will only fill the frame if the frame size is the square pixel equivalent size of your widescreen footage. This applies to all non square pixel aspect ratio footage.
If you interpret your footage as widescreen and put it in the same format (NTSC, PAL HDV) widescreen comp it will also fill the frame. There may be some black pixels on the left and right side because almost all cameras don't put live pixels in every column or even every row of the frame, but the footage will fill the frame. The caveat is that this footage will look distorted unless you activate pixel aspect correction preview in the Comp window because computer displays are always square pixels. You have to fool the display by selecting this option.
When you render your widescreen comp, if you're using any of the standard DV codecs or a codec like Quicktime Animation or JPG, there is no place in this codec for an aspect ratio tag that will tell apps like Premiere or FCP or Avid that this footage is supposed to be widescreen. Once you import the footage to another app you'll have to check and make sure that the footage is interpreted as widescreen there too.
I hope this helps. What ever you do, do not use the Fit to Frame option to force footage into a comp frame. If you insist on using Fit to Frame then check the X and Y scale values after you do and make sure they are identical. If they are not, you've distorted your footage at that point and it will be difficult or impossible to fix it later.

Site does not show correct on Samsung Tablet

Hi all,
I've seen a few questions regarding Muse sites not being displayed correct on a Samsung Tablet. My problem is similar but still different. The site is displaying correct on the desktop/ipad/iphone but not on the Samsung Tablet.
In the previewt his is not shown. Now I also know that the preview more or less simulates how a site should look.

I have looked at the links and they seem to be ok. I mean all the links link to the Tablet version.

Hi sanjit, the thing is that on a samsung tablet from around 3 years old the problem occurs. But on a samsung tablet almost a year /2years old the site displays correct.
Both of them has got android 4.04

Also which browser are you using , browser version would help. Do you see the same problem with any other browser on same tablet.

Lion: Finder: Column View: Date Last Opened is not show correctly

Hi Folks,
I have upgrade my macs from 10.6.8 to 10.7.
I am using the column view in the finder and I noticed that the
Date Last Opened is not show correctly in the preview column.
If I use the the list view and show the column Date Last Opened
all dates are correct. Using the column view, the Date Last Opened
allways matches the Date Last Modified.
The attached screenshot shows an example with the same
file at in both views mentiond above.
I have noticed this problem with internal and external drives
using the filesystem Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Is there way known to fix this behavior. In Snow Leopard it worked fine.

Same here, however I found a strange work around.
Go to your applications folder, for instance. Click the gear icon, go to Arrange By, then select Date Last Opened. It will correctly show the last opened time and arrange them accordingly. Switch back to arrange by name and the last opened date reverts back.
It's not a bug, it's a feature!

SharePont 2013 Document Library lookup Column Properties not Showing Correctly when editing in Word

I keep seeing this issue albeit intermittently. I have set up a doc library for my users which has a custom content type (lookup, metadata columns, etc) . They all appear perfectly most of the time except the lookup column. Sometimes is just
decides to display the title field of the current library and not the lookup list title . It is weird as it has been working perfectly for ages given the library is populated with valid documents.
There are some fixes listed here. Has anyone got any experience of this?

According to your post, my understanding is that the lookup column not display well while editing in word.
Did you customize the Document Information Panel?
I recommend you edit your custom document information panel or create a new document information panel, then re-publish it to check whether it works.

The web site of Adobe does not show correctly in FireFox

I have a bizarre problem. The site of Adobe (including where I can download the flash player) does not show correctly in FireFox and I only see it as a text HTML page, but without most images (typically, for instance, I do not see the image "Download now" but see a text line "Dowload now", and so on...
This seems to specifically affect the Adobe web site as I have no problme for other web sites (so far).
It is something specific to FireFox as I do have the problem with Internet Explorer.
The problem persis even if I restart FireFox without any add-on (safe mode).
Any suggestion ?

Does this only happen in Firefox? What do you see with Internet Explorer or Chrome? If it is only Firefox, I'd try these steps in this order:
1. Clear your cookies and cache
2. Reset your Firefox settings
3. Make a new profile

Hi paulique, the simplest next test would be to disable all plugins and extensions (except Shockwave Flash, which is pretty much indispensable) here, restart Firefox, and see whether your font works without them:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category<br>

Few of the text in Tibetan language subtitle is not showing correctly

Dear frds, I am working on 2 hours project which consist of 3 language i.e. English, Russian and Tibetan. Both English and Russian is showing correct while importing in Encore DVD 2 but few of the text which is in Tibetan Subtitle is not showing correctly. I have choosen the font correctly still few of the text is not correct format.
Is there any way to correct my Tibetan language text either by disabling speeling or grammer check or something else ???
Or is there any other way to import the subtitle is Picture format ???

We had Encore cs3 and that didn't handle Tibetan well.
Did you use Encore Cs6 to get Tibetan to work ?

Account Balance not showing correctly

Sir,
Suppose , i have posted an invoice of Rs.200 against a customer and after some times i recieved payment from this customer of Rs.200 So, accout balance of this customer should be zero.. But when i see the account balance from business partner master data , it should me Rs.-400 in accout balance field but when i navigate through orange arrow in to accoutn balance details , there i get zero in balance due field?? ie. it is showing coorectly in details of account ballance but in the business partner master data it is not showing correctly??

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.
