Previews in Captivate4 with CS5

Has anybody had any experience using Captivate 4 with the CS5 programs?
I installed CS5 this morning and now flash animations that are on my slides show up very small when I play the slide. When I preview the slide, the animations appear to work and be the proper size. But, if I simply play the slide, the animations are too tiny to see. I'm just using the standard animations that come with Captivate so nothing fancy. (I'm using the actionscript2 versions of some of the arrows and text animations.) I've used them in projects before and they worked fine.
Any thoughts? I can always preview the slides but that obviously slows the work down.
I'm running Windows XP on a fairly old Dell.
Thanks!

Hi there
Interesting situation. I too installed CS5 Master Collection trial the other day. I had not tried any animations but did so moments ago after seeing your post. Here's what I see:
Not sure what to advise other than to just preview using Next few slides or in browser. Those types of previews are always preferable to the "Play this slide" type of preview anyway.
Hopefully Captivate 5 will arrive before long and we won't see this behavior.
Cheers... Rick

  • Preview to open with thumbnails by default

Is it possible for thumbnails to display automatically when opening a document in preview?
I'm just so tired having to click on View/Thumbnails every single time.
    Thanks a lot

You were on the right path Mylenium, I managed to fix the problem.
So here's some tips for anyone who upgrades to CS5.5 from a previous version like I did, in this case CS3.
When I uninstalled CS3 I didn't quite do a full uninstall of all programs as there were some things I wanted to keep, like soundbooth etc.  Now, I was pretty sure I completely uninstalled AE CS3 but it seems that some of the folders and files lingered behind during the uninstall process.
When I uninstalled CS5.5, it did warn me that there was a minor issue with the installation that a reboot would fix.  I did this and everything was working perfectly, until I of course tried to open an After Effects project by clicking on the folder, then the project.
As you saw, the program wasn't allowed to be selected as the default and for some reason it wouldn't stick when using browse. SO! I rebooted my computer into Safe Mode and went into the Adobe Folder that had the old After Effects CS3.  I completely deleted that folder and all of its contents and ran CCcleaner next to go through the registry.  It found various conflicts with After Effects including invalid keys, could not open with CS5.5 by default, etc.  Not exactly in those words, but clear enough to state that there was a conflict with the default program launcher.
After fixing the issues with CCcleaner, I went back into normal Windows.  Right clicked on the icon properties, selected browwse, support files, AfterFX, and the problem was solved!
Was very boneheaded of me not to do a complete wipe of the installation, but after Adobe had gotten rid of audition initially, I was afraid of losing programs that I had use for.
Anyway, if anyone else runs into this problem just make sure to completely delete the old installation and run a registry cleaner to fix the issues.

  • Windows 7 Firewire Issues with CS5 and ADVC-700

I've got a Windows 7, 64 bit system with CS 5. In dubbing out for playback, I route a firewire cable from the PC to an Canopus/Grass Valley ADVC-700. Both units are less than a year old and are having issues with "black outs" during the dub out process. I've read different things about Windows 7 having issues with firewire drivers. After speaking to someone with Adobe, I've changed my firewire driver to Legacy. That hasn't helped.
The ADVC-700 has s-video out running to preview monitor and BNC out/XLR audio running to my playback system for ingest. When the video goes to black (usually for a 1/2 second), the audio drops out with it.
I've reset the settings on the ADVC-700 with no luck.
Any suggestions on a fix or something else to try?

I did test with a JVC GY-HD200U and there weren't any performance issues which led me back to the PC or other on the PC.
The system is running Windows 7, 64 bit with CS5 Production Premium following an upgrade from the CS4 version.
I've got 12 GB of Ram, (2) Intel Xeon Quad Core E5560 -2.8 GHZ processoCrs.
    (1) 500GB SATA2 hard drive, 7200 RPM, 32 MC (System Drive)
    (3) 1 TB SATA2 Hard drives, 7200 RPM, 32 MC (3 TB, RAID0 Storage Drive)
    Nvidia GeForce 9800GT graphics Card
    Supermicro X8DAi motherboard, Intel 5520 Chipset, 2-PCIe X16, 1 PCIe x4, 3-PCI, 10-USB2 ports, 2-pro/1000 NIC, 8-channel HD audio, 6 SATA ports, RAID 0/1/5/10
I've got the legacy drivers for the firewire card. I've checked to make sure all of the power save options are off along with all screen saver options. I've cleaned my Adobe Cache out, deleted my Adobe Preferences, went from the 4pin/6pin cable to a 6pin/6pin cable to feed the ADVC-700 from the PC, reset the ADVC 700 back to factory specs...all of this with no luck.
The problem seems to be worse since the move from CS4 to CS5 but it's hard to tell.
I've also hooked up an older ADVC-500 unit with the same output results.
I think I noted in the first post that this is happening on two indentical systems with the same cabling and programs and the same ADVC-700 boxes.
I've been told by Adobe to clean my C; drive and reload the OS and Adobe CS5 as I should have done that when I upgraded instead of just upgrading the system from CS4 to CS5 using the discs. I haven't done this yet as I have to budget time/workflow to accomodate.

  • Can't open print settings with CS5 and Epson R1900

In Photoshop CS5, go to File > Print.  In the Print dialogue window, click on Print Settings... and no response.  The blue Print button in the lower right corner flashes when I click, but nothing else happens.
I've tried running Photoshop in 32-bit mode as well.  Doesn't behave differently.
Running on a Mac Pro 2.26 GHz (most current generation).
    12 GB RAM
    OS 10.6.4
Printer is connected to Airport Extreme USB (most current generation).
Can successfully print with CS4; seems to be a new issue with CS5.
Hope I've included enough info to troubleshoot this problem.
    Thanks for any help!
    Brian,.

I've been trying to trouble shoot this problem since the beginning of September. I wasn't sure if it was a snow leopard issue, a Driver issue, or a CS5 issue. I guess it's CS5. I recently discovered the work around of asking Photoshop to manage the colors, opening the print settings, saving, then returning to printer managing colors but this just doesn't cut it in our graphics lab. We need the settings to be as straight forward as possible for our students.
Also, unrelated sort of, Photoshop remembers the settings from the previous print job. Which again doesn't work well in a lab/public environment. So if jimmy printed 20 copies of a file and set it to print colors as gray; Susie, the next in line, would have the same print settings for her file. This seems to only happen with photoshop. Not Preview, not safari, nor any other program.
We're seriously considering moving back to CS4.
...at least that had contact sheets.

  • Want to open Kodak Photo CD files (.PCD) in Photoshop CS5.  In CS4 i copied file "Photo CD.8BI"  from an older version into the File Format folder.  This does not work with CS5.  Any fix?

I have several old Kodak Photo CD with PCD image files.  I am now using Photoshop CS5.  Some years ago while using Photoshop CS4 I copied a file:  "Photo CD.8BI" from an older, CS2, version to the Plug-ins/File Format folder of CS4.  This does not appear to work with CS5.  Any fix?

It can be made to work, but you have to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5, and as I recall there's an additional DLL called pcdlib32.dll that's needed from the old installation.

  • Crystal Report Print Preview presenting users with Database Login

    Issue
A user amended a crystal report form, on doing so has now made that Form unavailable to the majority of users to Print or Preview this is in 8.8 PL10. All other users on Previewing are presented with a window  Database Login, but this only presents the server name, Database name is blank and greyed out and then there is only Login ID and Password available. If you enter in the database password a message appears stating failed login.
We have access to the SAP server and logged in and get the same message! but on the users machine who amended the Form they can print? any suggestions greatly appreciated

    Hi Roger,
The problem sounds similar to what I've had recently, it was resolved by changing the database connection type to SAP Business One in Crystal Reports 2008, I can confirm that using OLE DB or other will still cause the login issue on other machines off the SQL server, the SAP Business one connection solves the issue.
I was fighting with this for hours, hope this helps you all.

  • Is there a way to build an App with CS5.5 that can run in older iPods

    Hello
Does anybody know if there is a way to build an app with flash CS5.5 that can run in older iPods?, just like with CS5?
Each IPA I build with CS5.5 cannot be installed in my iPod 8GB with iOS 4.2 and before with CS5 I could install all the IPAs there and test.
The lack of support to iPod 8GB would be limitating for the market and sales...
Is there some setting to build IPA to older iPods?
    Thanks

    AIR 2.7 release notes:
AIR runs on "iPodTouch 4th generation iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4iPad".
    But:
AIR 2.7 runs on iPod Touch 3rd Generation, too - but only on the 32GB and 64GB models. The 8GB model is in fact only an older 2nd gen iPod Touch.
We tested this and we even have some apps in the app store running on the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I posted about this, look here:

  • Strange window behavior with CS5

I have begun experiencing strange behavior with PS CS5. I should begun with the machine configuration: 2.66GHz iMac (8,1) Intel Core Duo with 4GB RAM and OSX 10.6.6, Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics card. The initial symptom showed up suddenly as an inability to display an image window; that is, I could open PS normally, everything would show up properly, but when I opened an image file of any sort, there would be no image window. Other cues indicated that the file was open; for example, the window menu would show it selected, and the layers palette would show the file's layers.
It did not seem to matter what type of file was involved: PSD, JPG, TIF, whatever. Occasionally, this behavior would begin during a session. Sometimes it would happen right off the bat. Sometimes, stopping and restarting PS seemed to clean things up; other times, this had no effect. After messing around quite a bit with different permutations and combinations, all I could say was that the problem was random.
I might add that I've had PS CS5 on this machine pretty much since it was announced, and had not had problems with it before. So this issue came along quite suddenly a couple of weeks ago. This was a little after I'd installed an update for Nik's Viveza 2; and I began to suspect that. Although why Viveza should do such a strange thing was odd, and Viveza was never part of the files I was experiencing issues with. Anyway, I went back to an earlier version of Viveza and the problem persisted.
Since I run Time Machine, I also went back to versions of the entire PS folder from a month back, and found the same problem. Along the way, I experimented with the files I was using with PS CS4 & CS3, which I also have installed on this machine. These two versions of PS run perfectly well. At least the CS4 version has precisely the same plugins as the CS5 folder, and this seems to discount the potential problem with plugins.
To be sure about CS5, I completely deactivated, deinstalled, and reinstalled it. The same issues occurred. Now, I have to admit that I let PS run its update process so that I brought it back to the most recent version in this step of my troubleshooting. So, I can't be certain that the issue isn't with some update of CS5.
I might add that I have been running CS5 in 32-bit mode, for compatibility with certain plugins. This may or may not be an issue, since I have limited experience with running in 64-bit mode. At this point, I should add a bit more about the confusing behavior.
While messing around with CS5, I also suspected the GPU support, since my problem had to do with windows. When the problem presents itself, the usual cycle through window views that you get by pressing the "F" key seems to get messed up. In particular, the "F" key doesn't work at all. Next, if you use the View menu to select different views, the full screen with menu bar view will often have garbled pixels, while the full screen view will show a blank grey screen. Then, cycling back to a window view will show a window with blank grey contents. This is interesting since the starting point was no window at all; but going into full screen and then back will produce a window with bogus contents.
Now, the next strange thing, having to do with the GPU, is that CS5 often fails to recognize the Radeon HD 2600 card. Oddly enough, it did originally. And I had it running in Basic mode. However, CS4 does recognize the GPU; and I can set it in any variety of modes: Basic, Normal, and Advanced. This behavior is not consistent at all either; that is, while CS5 almost always now fails to detect the GPU, sometimes it does. As near as I can tell, this failure to detect the card does not depend upon whether I start CS5 in 32-bit or 64-bit mode. OTOH, CS4 always recognizes the GPU.
Another form of this odd behavior arises if I start CS5 cold, and then just open a new blank window. This almost always works. I get a blank white window, and I can paint on it with a brush, etc. However, if I go ahead at this point and open a file, then the new file takes over the window; and there are no tabs. If I select the original new file, usually labelled "Untitled", the window bar will show the change of filename but the window's contents and the layers palette will continue to show the old file that I had opened. Cycling through views can sometimes get back to the new Untitled file, but just selecting file windows never works.
Yet another aspect of this messed up window behavior is that the workspace bar, which shows the Bridge, MiniBridge and view icons on the upper left and the various workspace options and CS Live on the upper right, is present but blank. OTOH, the tool bar is always displayed correctly, as is the horizontal bar that shows the various tool options. Likewise, the palettes for the workspace such as layers, swatches, adjustments, and so on, are always correctly displayed on the left.
My next steps in trying to figure this out will be to ensure that I am running the latest of all plugins so that I can get everything running in 64-bit mode and try this again. However, the single factor that seems consistent in this whole mess is that whenever I do find this odd behavior, the performance preferences window will indicate that CS5 is not detecting the GPU. Whenever this happens, if I open up CS4 and check the same performance preference in it, the GPU is detected. I can have the two preference windows side by side on the screen in fact, CS4 sees the GPU and CS5 does not. The counter-indication is that sometimes CS5 will work properly and the preferences window still shows that the GPU has not been detected. Having said that, I can add that if I have opened up CS5, and it has found the GPU, and I have set it into, say, Basic mode, and then later found CS5 messing up, and I go back and check the performance preferences again, the GPU has always been lost. So, CS5 can mess up windows with or without the GPU detected and active; but when if it started with the GPU present, it will show up as lost after the weird behavior starts.
To add one more observation, I have had Macs and other computers with failing GPUs. This computer is showing none of the typical signs of that. Every other program seems to be working just fine, and I have a lot of these, many graphics intensive; e.g., Corel Painter 11, Parallels v6 running Windows 7, PS CS4, Lightroom v3, Aperture v3, and so on. It is just CS5 that is messing up.
I could load up this message with screen shots of all this nonsense, but I'm not sure what that would add to the strange tale, other than I'm not pulling your legs. I am, however, pulling out my own hair.
As I stated before, this began quite suddenly a couple of weeks ago, early Feb 2011. My best guess as to cause is some combination of incompatible updates between CS5, OSX, and maybe some plugin or other. I found unusual behavior with onOne's FocalPoint v2 last year after Apple updated GPU drivers in some OSX update, and cratered that program. It took onOne a month or two to fix that. I have CS5 on a laptop with the same OSX version, and on that I haven't seen these issues; but then, I haven't been using it as intensely over there. Also, that machine has different CPU and GPU models than this iMac.
So, to the community: is anybody else starting to see this odd stuff? Am I alone?

Here's the reason I say that the same plugins exist for both CS4 & CS5. Sometime last year, the internal hard drive on this computer died (as they so often do), and it was replaced under the Apple care warranty. As a consequence, I decided to rebuild the OS and applications from scratch and bring back my user files from backup. I among other things, I reinstalled all of CS4 as well as CS5 (and I had to put CS3 back too for reasons having to do with printing calibration images for Quad Tone RIP). Then, I went to reinstall the plugins that I needed. I use Nik Software, onOne, Portrait Professional and various Topaz plugins. To my recollection, most of these install in PS CS3, CS4, CS5, Aperture, and Lightroom. In short, it is not that I've copied or moved plugin folders from one application folder to another, just that the installers automatically detect the presence of the various applications and put the various plugins into each, as appropriate.
The only 32-bit plugins that I have that don't fit into this category are from Vincent Versace. He provides special versions of certain Nik plugins (Tonal Contrast, Contrast Only, etc) that function with some Acme Educational extensions for performing B&W conversion, sharpening, blah blah blah. These plugins are only 32-bit and the extensions are only CS5 compatible. I've installed these ones only into CS5; so, you've got me. OTOH, I've had these from Vincent as soon as CS5 was available; and they've worked so far without problems. Perhaps I should just edit the extensions so I could use the latest plugins direct from Nik instead of the Versace special editions...
I've checked fonts and repaired permissions. I am presently going through the rather tedious process of disabling plugins and extensions to see if anything yields consistent results. The rather random arrival of the strangeness makes ensuring that a change is really having an effect more difficult to validate, as you will appreciate.
I apologize for my long-winded original post. I add all of the detail so that anyone who'd experienced similar strange behaviors might properly pattern-match what they were seeing. On the one hand, in finding the cause of a problem, you look for what's changed; and theoretically nothing is new. On the other hand, there's always so much changing behind the scenes with automatic updates of this, that, and the other thing that it's impossible to make the claim that nothing's new.

  • Acrobat Pro 9, problems with CS5

I recently installed CS5 over CS4, then I uninstalled all the CS4 programs, keeping Acrobat Pro 9, now when I open Acrobat it gives me the Adobe Acrobat is installed as a part of a suite to run you must open another product pop-up, I have tried running it with Photoshop CS5 but it still gives the same error, I s this because it was connected with CS4, what should I do so I can run Acrobat Pro 9?

Since you uninstalled the rest of CS4 you removed the part that okayed Acrobat 9 to be activated. Uninstall Acrobat 9, then install the version that came with CS5.

I am not sure that Adobe realise there is no procedure existing that explains how to obtain the serial
number for Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 Pro as supplied with CS5 Design Premium.
You need a separate serial number for Acrobat Reader 9 Pro. I am still unsure how to get it but I am trying.
Following are two transcripts of live chat, personal information removed.
You are now chatting with Support person 1.
Support person 1: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.
    Support person 1: Hi (Name).
    Me: Hi.
Support person 1: I understand that you are unable to locate the serial number for Acrobat 9 Pro.
Me: Correct, the closest I have found is here -
    Me: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/636246
Support person 1: Let me check what best I can do for you.
Support person 1: Could you please provide me your email address which is registered with us and the case number?
    Me: (email address)
Me: No case number yet, unless you want the case number I raised to register Design Premium?
Support person 1: Yes, I am referring to the case number of Design Premium.
Me: (Case number for CS5 Design premium registering)
    Support person 1: Thank you.
    Me: Welcome.
Support person 1: Please note that you need to request for the serial number of Acrobat 9 Pro as well when you submit the proof of eligibility for CS5 Design Premium.
Support person 1: Once you request for the serial number of Acrobat 9 Pro you will receive the separate email with the serial number.
Support person 1: Please do go ahead and create the web case regarding this issue.
Support person 1: Your customer identification number registered with us is (number)
Me: OK I will try. For the record, it seems I am not the only person out there that does not realize I need to select
Adobe Reader 9 Pro as a separate package to get a serial number for it, refer to the above link on the forums, as well as
    this one - http://forums.adobe.com/message/2828659#2828659
Support person 1: (Name), earlier for CS4 products they will be using the same serial number to install Acrobat however there was complications and hence to avoid it we started to provide with separate serial number for Acrobat.
Me: I am having difficulty trying to locate the page where I start a new case / request...
Me: Just found "Register New Products" and "Manage Subscriptions"
Support person 1: Once you end this chat you will receive the email with the case number you can just login to customer support portal so that you will be able to view this case just below you can find the hyperlink you need to click on it and submit the web case.
Me: OK That sounds easy, perhaps we are finished now? Thanks for the help.
Support person 1: You are welcome.
Support person 1: I'm happy to help, is there anything else I can help you today?
Me: I don't think so, I'll go check my email.
    Me: Thanks again
    Me: Bye
    Support person 1: You're welcome.
Support person 1: It was a pleasure assisting you today.
Support person 1: We'd like to hear your feedback! Please click on the 'Close' button on the upper right to complete a short survey.  Use the 'Email' button to send yourself this chat transcript if you'd like.
Support person 1: Thank you for contacting Adobe.  Goodbye!
I gave them a premature glowing feedback.
You are now chatting with Support person 2.
Support person 2: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.
Support person 2: Please allow me a moment to review your request.
    Me: Hi
    Support person 2: Hi (name).
Support person 2: To locate your account, could you please provide the email address registered with Adobe?
    Me: (email address)
    Support person 2: Thank you.
Support person 2: Please allow me a moment while I check this information for you.
    Me: That's fine.
Support person 2: Thank you for waiting. One moment please.
Support person 2: Could you provide me that serial number?
Me: Yes, one moment while I open it, it is in my account portal...
Me: (Serial number of Adobe Design Premium CS5 supplied, not entirely comfortable supplying it here)
    Support person 2: Thank you.
Me: That number worked fine for the Design Premium install, but it does not work for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro install, a
chat last night indicated that I was supposed to get a separate serial number for Reader.
Support person 2: I understand that you need a serial number for the Acrobat 9 pro. Is that correct?
    Me: Yes
Me: I would also like to know where I was supposed to find the procedure for following to get this serial number,
    because I cannot locate it.
Support person 2: In that case, you can create a webcase by logging in to your Adobe Id and then Click the Support portal and send a request.
Support person 2: Our Adobe Representative will get back to via email.
Me: Yes, that is what the person said to do last night, but I found it was not as straight-forward as that.
Support person 2: If you create a webcase and send it, you would be able to get the serial number.
Me: The student licensing page indicates when I enter the coupon code I should get the "serial number/s" so I do not
know why I did not receive the serial number for Reader 9 Pro as it is part of the Design Premium package. I looked on
the forums and there are a number of people struggling with this.
Me: I will go and look at creating a webcase now, if I can leave this chat open until I achieve that it would be good...
    Support person 2: Sure.
Support person 2: That may resolve your issue.
Me: I logged, I clicked on Customer Support portal, the bottom half has the title "Get Support", under that there are 3 sub-headings - "Tech Support", "Orders and returns", and "Serial Number". I click on Serial Number. Then the drop-down box gives me 2 choices, "Lost serial number" and "Product Registration". I have not lost my serial number because I have never received it, and I cannot choose product registration because it assumes I already have a serial number in order to register the software. Can you guide me here please?
Support person 2: You can click Product and Registrations and type all your request and send it. Our Adobe Representative will check on that and will reply you.
Me: I cannot see "Product and Registrations" on the page I am looking at, (url of support page)
Support person 2: Sorry for the wait. Please do stay online.
Me: Under "Support Portal Help" on the right side, there is a "Register your product", but that requires a serial
    number.
Support person 2: Sure. I will be able to provide the information regarding that.
Support person 2: You need to click the Register your product.
Me: OK, it asks for a serial number. If I enter the serial number that I already received for CS5 Design Premium it tells me that software is already registered and I cannot register it twice, I tried that yesterday. I need a serial number for Reader 9 Pro before I can register it, this is the problem - I cannot locate how to receive the serial number for Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 Pro as part of the CS5 Design premium suite.
Support person 2: The software has been already registered under your account.
Support person 2: So you need to register the product once again.
Support person 2: So you need not register the product.
Me: The Adobe CS5 Design Premuim software has been registered, as I have a serial number for it. But I do not have a serial number for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, that is the problem.
Support person 2: This issue will come under the serial number problems. So you can click the lost serial number tab in the support portal and then just give your issue. So that our Adobe Representative will check on that and will give you the solution.
Me: I am on the "Lost Serial Number" page. First question is "Order Number" - which number do I use here?
Support person 2: I will give you another procedure to send the web case.
    Me: OK, I will wait...
Support person 2: Once you end this chat you will receive the email with the case number you can just login to customer support portal so that you will be able to view this case just below you can find the hyperlink you need to click on it and submit the web case.
Me: That is what the person I was chatting to said last night. But it was not as straight forward as that. You will see in my account portal there is an open case (number) where a conversation like this one appeared as a case and it was closed, I reopened it and added notes, will that suffice? Also, where did I go wrong in the registration process - I would like to know what I was supposed to do to get the Acrobat 9 Pro serial number.
Support person 2: I'll be right with you.
Support person 2: You have completed the registration process with your CS5 serial number. You can do the above procedure and create the webcase. Once our Adobe Representative will clearly check on that, will be able to provide you the solution.
Me: If you look at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/636246 and http://forums.adobe.com/message/2828659#2828659 you will
see I am not the only one struggling with this.
Support person 2: Once you get the serial number for Acrobat 9 Pro. You can again register that product.
Support person 2: I am sorry for the inconvenience. However, if you would request you to do the above procedure, so that you would be able to get the solution.
Support person 2: I would request you to do the above procedure so that you can get the solution.
Me: Exactly which above procedure am I supposed to follow? I assume you mean once the chat is closed I get an email with a link, this happened yesterday but the only link was a link to the customer support portal that showed me the closed case on the chat.
Support person 2: Once you end this chat you will receive the email with the case number you can just login to customer support portal so that you will be able to view this case just below you can find the hyperlink you need to click on it and submit the web case. You can follow this and you would be able to get the solution.
Me: Therefore the case that I currently have open should suffice, is that correct?
Me: Are you able to see that case?
Support person 2: I would not be able to open in your account. I checked with the interaction history and was be able see the the chat history with the previous Representatives.
Support person 2: So I would request you to do the above procedure.
Me: OK, lastly, can you tell me what I was supposed to do to get the Acrobat Reader 9 Pro serial number as part of the Design Premium registration process? The process is not listed anywhere, I would be happy to find out so that (a) I know where I mucked up, and (b) so I can take that info back to the forums and help the others that are struggling with this. Thanks.
Support person 2: By creating a webcase you would be able to get the serial number. This is the possible solution which could
    resolve your issue.
Me: Thank you for your time.
Support person 2: You are welcome.
Support person 2: Thank you for contacting Adobe.  Goodbye!
Me: Bye! Have a great day.
Support person 2: Have a nice day.

  • How do I convert a file into inx with cs5.5?

    Hello,
How do I convert a file in indesign cs5.5 into the interchange format?
    Thanks for your answers

A complete review can be found here, but basically, you can't. CS4 was the last version that was able to generate INX - the format was replaced with IDML. You must export IDML with CS5.5, open that IDML in CS4, then export INX from CS4.
Why do you need INX? If it's for someone with CS3, then that person may not get a useable file, if any features introduced after CS3 were used in the CS5.5 document.

  • File saved as .5 file type with CS5, How to Open in CS5

I've been working on a certificate and i saved it without looking at the file type. For some reason it set the file type to (.5). What is that? Is there any way I can open it again in CS5? Is there a file converter I could use. I just need to basically open the file agian in CS5 so I can continue to edit the certificate. I have tried opening the file with CS5 and CS6 and I get this message:
"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."
    Thanks!

That's the problem I saved it in Photoshop CS5 and It wont let me open it in that. The message:
"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."
Pops up when i try to open it with Photoshop.

  • Will ACR8.6 work with CS5.1?

Bought a new Nikon D810, and my version of Photoshop, CS5.1 says it will not work with this raw image. Can this newer version of ACR plug in to my version of Photoshop?

Yes, you can use the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 to convert your raw NEF files to raw DNGs first, which you can then open in any version of ACR higher than 2.3.
But ACR 8.6 will never work with CS5.1, and you will never be able to open your raw NEF files directly in CS5.1.  You will have to take the extra step of running the Adobe DNG Converter on every batch of raw files you take with your camera.
More importantly, you should be aware that you will be leaving a lot of image quality on the table if you work with any version of ACD 7.4—which also requires CS6 to run.  The rendering in Adobe Camera Raw took a significant leap forward in ACR 7.4 and later versions.
It would be a real shame to work with an expensive Nikon camera and not obtain optimal raw conversions.

  • How does the mac mini perform with cs5

    Just curious
How does the Intel HD Graphics 4000 in the new mac mini perform with cs5 photoshop  cs6 photoshop?
    thanks
    Ted

Jeff, I appreciate your comment, so you haven't had any problem with using the painttools in CS 6 photoshop and the 3d type etc, in other words all the features that CS6 photoshop has.
I was thinking about buying the mac mini but was concerned how it works with CS 5 (which I have) I will have to take another look at the MiniMac server with the 3000 card. I do a lot of Digital Painting primarily Painter 12.2 but and would like to use the Painter brushes in CS 5 ( have not upgraded to CS 6.) My Imac is 6 years old and really is not fast enough.
    Thanks for replying
