Previews of TV episodes are worthless.
Why is it that all of the TV episode previews are the first 30 seconds... or the opening title sequence? If I want to preview a particular episode, I'd like to actually see something from the episode... you know to see if I want to download that particular episode.
For example, I clicked on the Phoenix series on the store homepage because I thought that might be interesting. It caught my eye. I previewed the first episode - saw part of the opening title sequence. Previewed the second episode - saw the exact same part of the opening title sequence. Did that a couple of times with other episodes - the same thing. Guess what... Now I'm not taking a chance on it. The store drew me in from the front page and then lost me on the previews. I think there's a smarter way of doing that. Like showing 30 seconds from within the actual episode.

Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

Just installed mountain Lion. Viewing a pdf sent to me using preview and some colors are appearing BLACK, however when I view the same PDF in Acrobat they are perfect and what they are suppose to be. WHY would PREVIEW showing a different color?
Here's what I've found on the issue:
Pantone color definitions have changed (coinciding with CS6) — they are now "Pantone+" (I think that's what they're called). The "+" apparently means they're now LAB colors. Lab colors are not properly displayed in Preview (or in Finder previews) — they display as black (as far as I can tell, in all circumstances). I'm sure it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the gist.
Now the bad news — nobody seems to know anything about a fix or workaround (unless you convert your PDFs to process — this might be a fix for sending to clients). It causes issues for me in AI files — being able to view them in the finder (with previews) is a HUGE time saver for my workflow... when they're all black, not so much.
In my chat with a director of product dev at Adobe, they placed the responsibility to fix on Apple (assuming Apple wants to support Pantone color definitions in their OS). -
I have purchased a TV show series. I show that from the purchased screen it has downloaded. However it is not in my library. How do I watch this episode? Several of the episodes are in the library but a few did not make it there. Help please!

My podcast Episodes are missing!

I have a podcast on itunes and just published 5 new episodes. So, there should be a total of 9 episodes; however, my 4 previous episodes are gone.

This feed contains the same 5 episodes you are seeing in the Store. In common with many podcast creation services or programs, iWeb limits the number of episodes in the feed - the default in iWeb is five. As more episodes are added older episodes are moved to an archive page and removed from the feed.
You can increase the number of episodes in the feed to a maximum of 50:
Increase the number where shown and re-publish the feed. Subscribers will see the extra episodes immediately but the Store will take a couple of days or so to catch up.
When you get to 50 episodes the same thing will happen and in iWeb you can't increase it (the Store allows up to 300 episodes). -
My older podcast episodes are missing on iTunes.
Just noticed last week that my nine oldest podcast episodes are no longer on itunes. They're alive and well on my blog page so I'm nor sure what happened. Did I reach some magical quota on iTunes? I have no clue how to resubmit or do any of that stuff. Thanks for any help!
iTunes imposes no limit (at least up to 300). Many podcast creation programs or services limit the number of episodes in the feed, removing older ones when this limit is reached. There is usually a setting to increase this number.
However there might be other reasons; but it's not really possible to comment unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'. Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable. -
I have downloaded a series of prison break but 3 episodes are saying "you do not have permission to access the requested resource" and "this episode can not be downloaded at this time" any idea how to fix this please??

ITunes TV show episodes are incomplete
I downloaded some "Commander in Chief" episodes and was disappointed to find out that they were incomplete. That is, the show's opening sequences (the part that shows the actors, etc., and includes a show's theme music) are not included!
I don't actually get the show itself where I live, so I can't even tell from the downloaded episodes who all the regular cast are (though I recognize Geena Davis).
I wrote Apple about it and they responded, basically, that that's the way it is.
I really think for honesty's sake that Apple should note that the episodes are not complete start-to-finish episodes in the store itself so people are given fair warning.

The most likely cause is just like the missing Beatles catalog from the iTunes Music Store. The copyright holders of the opening theme music refuse to let their material sell through digital channels. And the show's producers just cut the sequence rather than pick different music or release it without music.
Some TV shows sold on DVD even come with completely different music tracks - Married With Children DVDs, for instance, don't include the classic opening theme of "Love and Marriage" from Frank Sinatra.
How they (the owners of the show who provide the file to Apple, not Apple) deal with the situation is their concern. And you need to go to the producers of Commander in Chief to get a response on the issue. Apple is just a retailer in this situation, they don't produce the content available in the store. -

We had to change the feed adress (<itunes:new-feed-url>)and the epsiode adresses in the feed because the feed and the episode-files are on a new server. Now when i open my iTunes subscription of our podcast all the episodes of my podcast are downloaded again (although i have downloaded them already).
My Question therefore is: How can I make the changes in my feed and avoid that all the episodes are reloaded?

To avoid this problem in the future i would like to change guid tags. Can you please tell me how a guid tag should look like if it is not the URL?

HT5070 I purchased an entire season of a TV show, but only 6 out of 7 episodes are listed
I purchased an entire season of a TV show, but only six out of 7 episodes are listed in my library. When I return to the store, episodes 1-6 are noted as available to download, and episode 7 is listed as available to buy for 2.99. When I select buy, the store returns the message that I have already purchased that episode. That is true, so why is it not listed in the cloud as available to download, and/or available to view on my Apple TV list for Season 1?

If the emailed receipt shows you purchased a season of shows with Complete My Season but one of the episodes is problematic.
I would try signing out of the iTunes store from the Store menu in iTunes, then restart the computer and sign back in.

Normally the episodes are available to download the day after airing date. But this time, the episode that aired last night is not available to download. I'm just wondering if that episode for Married to Jonas will be available in a later date or not. I did purchase the season pass.
I created a support incident Saturday or Sunday.
Their first response by email asked
"... include your purchase's order number in your reply. You can find your order numbers on your email receipts and in your Purchase History. If you need to review your Purchase History, follow the steps in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727 ...."
They made it sound like it was my problem they would help me figure out. They already had my Apple ID so I don't know why they couldn't find the info. My luck they sent the email at 7:30 last night. The person working on my case only works Sunday - Thursday 4:30 - 11:30 pm so it will be tonight before they get my response. Nobody else can work on the problem? Come on Apple!
I mentioned this thread so they may or may not look here also.
Still very unimpressed with Apple TV process quality and the huge customer support hole. It's like they're completely unprepared for mistakes. Everybody and every company makes mistakes. -
I bought the season 7 pass for Doctore Who, but the new episodes are not showing up for download. I've been all over the support page, I even looked up my purchase history and there is are none showing and I even bought last weeks episode, The Bell's of St. John. Who can I contact to find out why I'm not getting the rest of season 7 for download?

ChristyQGarmin is sending you to Apple because it is Apple that would have to give you a refund as the actual point of sale. However, Apple states all sales are final.
Apple is sending you to Garmin because it is Garmin's fault their maps are out of date and Apple doesn't write the software. They may not even be looking that deeply and simply perceiving it as a programming "bug" it is up to Garmin to solve.
Who know whose fault it is that Garmin isn't getting up to date data to put in their maps.
Ultimately I think you stand the best chance in getting a refund from Apple though it isn't guaranteed. Apple is the cashier. You just have to convince them this isn't just a line of code omitted from an application and isn't something that will be soon corrected by Garmin. Make it clear it isn't a problem with the application running on your device, it is a problem with the data it contains. Either that or you have to hope Garmin will feel so bad about it they will delve down into their slush fund and send you a refund. -
Why can't the iTunes store notify me when new TV episodes are available?
Many times, I have had to purchase a TV show that isn't (yet) offered as a SeasonPass. Then, I have to check each week and buy the shows one at a time for the whole season. How difficult would it be for the iTunes store to offer a notification system telling me when a new episode is available... or, better yet, allow me to have the store automatically sell me the next episode when it is available (upgrade to Season Pass?). Apple iTunes Store is missing out on sales by not providing a simple solution to a simple problem. They already know which shows I've purchased, how tough would it be to provide some followup? --- Same holds true for when additional (previous) seasons are offered... why is the store making their customers do all the work?
Here again, Dave, I appreciate your answer...and it is probably the exact excuse that iTunes Store executives use to justify not correcting the situation. However, it too is a load of bull.
Apple has a database of the purchases of its customers. It also knows which shows were purchased on an episode basis (as opposed to a Season Pass)...generally because the show's producer didn't allow (or provide for a Season Pass for whatever reason). But again, regardless of the shows producer's "deal" with Apple regarding the show, there is NO excuse for Apple to not provide an easy mechanism for iTunes Store customers to track, and buy missing episodes. This is a win/win/win situation... the iTunes Customer, Apple, and the show's producer all get something! Don't tell me that Apple can't write an application that does this! We are not talking rocket science here. Most "sales" organizations attempt to upsell... create additional sales. Missed opportunity here.
I'm not even suggesting that the process be an "upgrade" to a Season Pass as far as pricing goes... merely a mechanical notification that additional episodes are available! This is clearly different than the "complete my album" system and would have absolutely nothing to do with the contractual relationship between Apple and the show's producers.
Again... it's too bad that Apple doesn't take these discussion comments seriously... there are substantial missed opportunities for TV show sales. Don't you guys that monitor these boards have any pull with Apple? After all, you've got almost 100k items of commentary on these boards...!!!
