Previous answered/unanswered questions !!

Hey Friends all my previously asked questions whether resolved/unresolved have disappeared from SDN database. Even if I click on "your questions" then also nothing appears.
What could be the reason ???
Only the questions of last two days are visible

  • How do I view previous strings of questions and answers on FF support?

I read this response but it really doesn't answer the question.
"If you are logged on then you see a My Contributions item in the Filter bar at the top that goes to:
    https://support.mozilla.org/questions?filter=my-contributions"
I don't see the "filter bar" or "my responses" after I log in. I just see "Ask a question" "my log in name" and some other stuff to the right of that and below that.
So after I log in, how do I look at strings of my previous questions and all responses to them, including new ones?

I just figured it out!!! Wha-lah. Go to a question and then click on the underlined text in the question. Then a string of the Q and subsequent responses appears.

  • I am trying to change my security questions but cannot remember previous answers

I am trying to change my security questions but cannot remember previous answers it is asking me for, is there a way to reset these answers and insert new ones?

    Hello nicholas,
This article should help you reset the security questions, found here:
    About Apple ID security questions
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Select “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
Select “Password and Security” on the left side of the page.
If you already have security questions, you'll be asked to answer them before continuing. Forgot the answers?
Choose your new security questions, then enter the answers.
Add and verify a rescue email address, if that option is available.
    Click Save.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • I lost my Download Stacks option. Now it is just a Download folder. Need to find out how to get the Download Stacks option back. Previous answers to this question don't make any sense to me. Please help in explicit detail. PS I'm using Mountain Lion.

Need to know how to get it back to its original Download Stack. Previous answers to this questionin Apple Support just don't make any sense to me. I'd appreciate explicit directions on how to restore this feature. Currently it's just a Download folder... must have accidently poofed it away.
    Help!

And if what WZZZ suggests doesn't work (and hopefully it will) move the file name below to the desktop, log out or restart and the Dock preferences with its defaults should be recreated. You'll need to re-configure it as you like it:
    com.apple.dock.plist
It's located: in Finder hold the Alt/Option key and from the Go menu select Library>Preferences.
If it fixes things, delete the file on your desktop.

  • Unanswered questions on Quiz are not counted correctly when going back

    Hi,
I'm using Captivate 8, and made a simple multiple choice quiz, with a "submit all" option.
It works fine, except for when using the back button.
When trying to submit, I get the following message:
"One or more questions is incomplete. Answer all questions to continue."
It seems that questions that are revisited keep the previous answer, but are marked as unanswered.
    Thanks,
    Yuvalal

ok... so re-reading your original question I see the reason... the back button seems to screw things up.

  • How to see my unanswered questions? Some forums missing?

I miss the old format... Maybe I'm old and stubborn, but this new Apple forums format isn't growing on me - I'm finding it difficult to navigate. Is it possible to customize my view so that I see all of my unanswered questions, and perhaps some select forums?  If not, what's the easiest way to find my open questions - I can't seem to find the link. Also, are all of the forums here or have some been removed/consolidated? Either I'm not searching correctly or they're gone - it seems like some are missing; the old list was much clearer than this scroll-down thing.

  • How to get a mod. removed question out of my "Unanswered Questions screen"

    Hello All,
I don't know where to ask this. So, I'll try here.
I have a question still listed in my "My Questions" screen.
It was removed by the moderators some time back, but remains in my "My Questions" screen.
It was removed pretty quickly by the moderators, so there was no time to mark it as answered.
So, now it appears as though I have a permanently unanswered question. So, my log-in will always show 1 unanswered question.
Right now, I see on the left-hand side, a message that says:
    "You have 1 unresolved question(s)."
So, I am wanting to find out if there is any way for me to have this question removed from my account. This way I won't have any unanswered questions listed that are not actually active.
If you are a moderator with access to this, I'll grant you permission right here to remove this from my "My Questions" page.
    The question in question is:
Mac Mini 1.5 CoreSolo really a CoreDuo???? - No Intel 1.5 CoreSolo Made
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=392125&tstart=0
Under the link, it says: "Administration » * Posts Removed by Hosts"
If there is a way that I can remove it from my "My Questions" page, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
Otherwise, could a Administrator or Moderator help me to do this.
Now, understand that if contacted for log-in information, I'm going to need some proof of the person being a moderator. I'm not going to give my account info to just anymore
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
I'll look forward to hearing from you

    Hello All,
I just came back in, and noticed that they have removed the question from my "My Questions" screen.
So, looks like it is all fixed now
    Thank you Moderators / Administrators.
    It is much appreciated

  • Bad Stats on threads for unanswered questions

There seems to be a bug in the thread view for unanswered questions that says
This question is not answered. Helpful answers available: 5. Correct answers available: 1.
for any unanswered questions. The 5 and 1 numbers are fixed text and never change, like they are placeholders for some calculation that was going to be implemented to count posts flagged as helpful / correct that was never implemented.
Also, it would be nice when replying to a post if the new page displayed contained the original post being replied to at the top for reference and copy/paste whlie composing the replies. This is pretty standard functionality on public message boards.

It's amazing how many newbies to the forum come on and complain about the way it works before even getting any proper knowledge of it. Did you really think that something as basic as those things would not have been considered before?

  • Cycle back to unanswered questions

I am using Captivate 4. I have created a quiz consisting of a few random question slides that take questions out of the same pool of even more questions. I have allowed users to skip questions till the end of the quiz. When they reach the end, I would like the quiz to cycle back to the first unanswered question without the result slide appearing, of course. Then, again, at the end of the quiz, cycle back again until all question are answered, then we can see the results page. I tried using advanced actions and particularly the cpQuizInfoTotalUnansweredQuestions system variable which I added to a "On slide enter" function of a blank slide before the results page so it can check if all questions have been answered, then proceed to the next slide which is the results page, a thing that for some reason it doesn't do. On the other side, if not all questions have been answered how can I track the first unanswered question in the quiz so I can send the playback there? Someone should have come across this scenario, I hope.
Also, I would like to ask of there is a way to customize the review questions proccess and instead of showing each question one at a time,  to list all questions at once with the correct answer and the answer the user chose.
    Thanks in advance.

This is why I put the bank slides set at a half-second each between each question slide. You can set an advanced action upon entrance of these slides. So my advanced action looks at the variable for the next slide and checks to see if the value is > 0. If it is, it jumps to the following slide (which is another blank slide and that one executes another version of the same command. In terms of the Submit button, what I meant to say is that I set the same (separate) advanced action no matter if the user gets the question right or wrong. This one changes the value of the variable associated with the slide from 0 to 1 and then advances to the next slide.
So in a 3-question quiz, it would look like this...
    Blank -> Slide 1 -> Blank -> Slide 2 ->
Slide 2 as the second-to-last question would have it own advanced action upon exit that looks to see if either slide has a value  > 0. If both are > 0, it jumps to the final question. If either has a value of 0, it jumps to slide that tells the user he or she has unanswered questions and gives them the opportunity to go back.
Once the user goes back, the blank slides SHOULD cycle past all completed slides (since they have a value > 0) and stop only on the uncompleted slides.
I am still working out the final details. And once I get them working this way, I would like to see if I could do it with a more elegant plan, using fewer variables and actions. But the basics are working for me right now.

  • Branching quiz based on unanswered questions

I'm using Captivate 5.5 to design an awareness module that contains 2 short knowledge checks at key points in the module (around 5-6 questions for each). The knowledge checks aren't compulsory and learners can move freely backwards and forwards through the module, and therefore can skip questions.
We want to encourage them to answer all the questions (but not force them to if they don't want to). I've thought of branching the module at the end, with uncompleted questions branching to a reminder slide, and all questions completed going to a summary of the module.
The way I've tried to do this is to use an Advanced Action with the CpQuizInfoTotalUnansweredQuestions variable to trigger the branching. This works okay if the learner doesn't move backwards. Once they go backwards past a question they haven't answered yet it will be counted as unanswered a second time. This means that there is no way they can ever get the variable to 0 and then move to the summary slide.
Is there any way to use the CpQuizInfoTotalUnansweredQuestions variable to get it counting the unanswered questions correctly?
The other way I had thought of doing it was to add another variable that changes when the branching/reminder slide is visited the first time, and having the Advanced Action check the variable to see if the slide has been visited before and if it has then it forces the slide to be skipped. This would assume that the learner went back and found and answered all the questions they missed or decided not to answer them all.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

My latest blog post has a work flow, not totally the same because it is meant for Review status, but can easily be translated to make your last scenario possible.

  • Unanswered questions and poorly managed forum?

I find myself on forums a lot when I cannot find answers to any problems I might have; sometimes even before I search through help files and manuals I'll go into the forums. I must say though, that this forum does a very poor job at answering questions. I'm not only speaking for myself. I've only asked maybe 2 or 3 questions, still which none have been answered (one I figured out on my own). But I've been searching through past topics as well only to see other people's problems going unanswered or given 1 measly reply and then abandoned.
I usually get replies to posts on other websites within days of posting. If it's not from another user than it's from some sort of administrator. With a company like Apple, which I preach has the best customer service out of every company I've ever dealt with, I'm surprised customers aren't met with the same respect in the forums. Granted, this is user based and relies on other customers helping customers, I just think the forum could be better managed somehow.
I guess I'm just seeing if any one else is seeing this same thing going on in this forum. I may just be new and there's a certain way things work but to me something seems wrong. You tell me.
    -Neil

Also keep in mind who visits the forums. Apple just provides the space but otherwise is pretty hands-off about who posts, so anybody answering your questions is a self-declared volunteer. I am not an IT person at all. I have learned a bit about computers through using them. Probably only about half of the posts to which I respond do I actually know the answer in advance. The rest I usually answer because the topic caught my interest and I did on the spot research myself (it is surprising how much a general web search can reveal) and found an answer. Anyway, I may spend 10-30 minutes of my own time researching an answer to somebody's question. I haven't even looked at your questions so I can't make any comment about them, but honestly some questions are just beyond my abilities and maybe I'm not alone. At that stage you are depending more and more upon a smaller number of real experts and the time they are willing to donate. If you look at some forums 90% of the answers are provided by just a handful of respondents and I guess even IT volunteers need to eat and sleep.
Many of the questions I see unresolved* after a day or so are either requiring a very specific familiarity with an issue, or are poorly worded with very little background (the, "My computer isn't working, tell me what is wrong," but that's all the information they provide and it could even be unplugged.) Sometimes I'll chip in what I know and if doesn't solve the problem, well I'm out of answers and people have to realize that.
    * When I say "unresolved" I am not talking about flagging which is up to the individual poster as to if, when, and how they decide to flag.

  • Unanswered question

    Hi,
I am bit confused about what 'Unanswered question' means which is present at the bottom on every forum's main page. Now according to my understanding it means that it has not been answered. No replies at all.
But why has the following thread been still marked as an unanswered question
    DB Performance problem
Or maybe I need some more clarification.

The icons to the left of :
    Answered question
Unanswered question with answer points still available
    Unanswered question
Are the keys to symbols used in the second column
If this answers your question then awars points and mark your question as answered ;-)

  • Unanswered Questions a request and a suggestion

I, like others, have an inaccessible unanswered question. It has been deleted but still shows up as unanswered and there is no way for me to mark it as answered. I would appreciate it if the mods would mark it answered.
I would like to suggest that when a question is deleted it should always disappear from the asker's unanswered list.

    Hi Hardy,
You should have no unresolved questions now.
We try to mark it as answered when we lock or remove but some slip by. I have been going back to some older ones and marking them when I can.
    Regards,
    Kady
