Previous message in email reply

On the original iPhone, is there a way to turn off the inclusion of the previous message when replying to an email? Hitting reply and then deleting previous messages (especially long stings of conversation) gets tedious after a while. LOL

oof. zero help.

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts?  If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane.  This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.

  • IMAC Email - Moving to Next or Previous Message

I am a new iMAC and iPhone user, and am using Apple Mail on both devices.
On my iPhone, after I view 1 particular message, I have the option to hit an "UP" or "DOWN" arrow, to move to the NEXT or PREVIOUS email message to view.   However on the iMAC, when I view a Mail Message in Full Screen mode, I can't seem to find a way to move to the NEXT or PREVIOUS email message, unless I close down the current message, and then open the next message.   I can easily scroll thru multiple messages when using the "preview panel" to view the contents of a single email, below the list of items in my Inbox, however some longer emails are better read full-screen, but is there a way to move to the NEXT or PREVIOUS message when viewing full-screen.....If it is a good feature for the iPhone, then I would suspect it should be a good feature for the iMAC as well.
Does anyone know if this is possible and what keystroke or shortcut might allow this, if there isn't a button on the toolbar to support this?
    Thanks,

With my large monitor, this is not a problem, but also having an iBook, I understand your question.
With my iBook, my method would be to look at the message in the message preview pane, and then double-click from the list to open it up in a separate window. In this fashion, F9 to invoke Expose, will let you toggle between both (or more) windows.
To transfer from the full screen view, click on Message in the Menubar, and choose Move To or Copy To from the resulting contextual menu, and then choose the target mailbox. Or toggle to the other mail window, select one or more messages in the message list, and control-click or right-click and choose Move To or Copy To and select the target mailbox. I find this much more useful (and less prone to mistakes) than drag and drop.

  • New email page covers the message I am replying to!

When I want to  Reply to a message in my email box, the new page which comes up for the reply completely covers the message I want to reply to. I cannot see it or find a way to move it.  I use Sky Yahoo email and this is very frustrating. I have to print out the message I am replying to so that I do not miss any points. Surely there must be a way of moving the incoming message to the lower half of the screen so that one can see it when using the top half of the screen to reply to. I am on iMac and have this problem on IOS Mavericks and it still exists now that I have downloaded Yosemite. Can someone help please?

Never crossed my mind Eric! Most embarrassing but thank you for pointing out the solution - although shifting the window sizes around takes some figuring out. Is there a quick and easy way to half-screen incoming message and reply?

  • In the Mail app, when I delete a message, the email above the deleted on is the next one highlighted. How do I configure it the show the next email below the deleted one?

How do I configure Mail so that when I delete a message, the next lower email shows? On my MBP it jumps back to the previous message.
Thanks for any help with this.

I am wondering if anyone is seeing my question? This is my first time and I am not sure if I am communicating correctly. If you are seeing the question above regading deleted messages reappearing please reply so I will at least know I am getting the message out.
    Thank you.

  • Next message/previous message - how to? new user

I'm new to Macs. So far I like it.
When reading an email message, can I click forward or backward through the messages in that folder? I don't see this option/feature.
I see "delete", "junk", "reply", "reply all", "forward", "print". I'm looking for something like "next message" and "previous message", so I can just click forward and backward through the inbox.
    Thanks
    - Ryan

    Hello Ryan.
You can use keyboard shortcuts to take pictures of the screen in Mac OS X.
To take a picture of the whole screen, press Command-Shift-3.
To take a picture of part of the screen, press Command-Shift-4, then drag to select the area you want in the picture.
To take a picture of a window, the menu bar, the Dock, or other area, press Command-Shift-4, then press the Space bar. Move the pointer over the area you want so that it's highlighted, then click. If you decide you want to drag to select the area, press the Space bar again.
If you press Command-Shift-4 and decide you don't want to take the screen shot, press the Escape key.
Screen shots are saved as files on the desktop. If you want to put the screen shot in the Clipboard, rather than create a file, hold down the Control key when you press the other keys. You can then paste the picture into a document.
You can use the Grab application to take a picture of all or part of your computer screen.
Open Grab (located in /Applications/Utilities) and choose a command from the Capture menu.
Selection takes a picture of a part of the screen that you select.
Window takes a picture of a window you select.
Screen takes a picture of the entire screen.
Timed Screen lets you start a timer and activate part of the screen (such as a menu), and then takes a picture of the screen.
    Follow the onscreen instructions.
To see information about a screen shot you've taken, such as the size and depth, choose Edit > Inspector.
To save a screen shot, choose File > Save. Grab saves screen shots as files in TIFF format. You can use the Preview application to view these files and export them to other formats, such as JPEG.

  • Next & Previous Buttons On Email?

I can find no option to go to the next email or previous email when I have finished reading an email. Are there no "Next" or "Previous" buttons for that?

And, while I'm here, is there a way to correct messages that we post here? I answered with "They aren't they" and I meant "They aren't there . . ."
Yep, if you look very closely to the right hand side of the 'tool bar', (above the text of the post), you'll see three icons.
    From right to left they are;
    Email
    Reply
    Edit.
The edit one looks like a pencil on a speech bubble. Green red and white it is.

  • What is the Keyboard Shortcut for Next/Previous Message in Lion Mail?

Using the 'full screen' message viewer (rather than the preview pane) how do I progress to an older/newer message in a folder without closing the window?

    MOE O wrote:
So Entourage can go to the previous message?  How do you do that?
I can't stand that Mail always goes to the next newest message after deleting.
Every other email program I've ever seen (including Entourage - see below) can do this.  Why can't Apple?  I don't want to touch the mouse most of the time because it really slows down work to move ones hands back and forth.   I did a quick web search and found these shortcuts for all the major programs.  If you know of any other program besides Apple Mail that doesn't have this, let me know.
Until then, if Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, Sparrow, Postbox, and Thunderbird have had this, what's Apple's problem adding it?

  • Receiving previous day's emails at 3 in the morning

I previously posted the subject line as "not receiving emails". At the time I posted it, I had not received any emails to my BB Tour for over 24 hours. At 3:54 AM I received a batch of the previous day's emails. I first noticed this last Saturday. As I stated in my previous post, I re-registered it, resent service books, deleted and added my email account and pulled the battery. It seems like my emails are scheduled to be sent to my BB at a certain time but I don't know how that would have happened. I appreciate any suggestions that can help resolve this. Thanks.

I've heard conflicting info as to whether AOL is push email like Yahoo or Gmail. Unfortuantely Blackberry doesn't have a setting for how often to pull your email and unless your service is true push it relies on BB ablitiy to pull it from AOL If you haven't received an email in some time have tried reconcile? While email window is open push the menu button and scroll down to reconcile now. I had similar problems with Comcast and what I did was
    Log onto BIS site
setup your blackberry verizon email account
click edit and under reply to email type in your AOL email address
go to AOL and forward your mail to the new email account
be sure to check leave a copy on server and you'll get a copy on your computer
once this is complete you will often get mail on your BB faster than the computer
when you respond from your BB it will appear you are replying from AOL email
    Hope this helps

  • My email reply has just started to float with no margin

My email reply page does not have a margin and 'floats' which it did not do before. A new message screen is fine, I.e. The cursor returns at the end of the line. Can atone help please?

Quit the Mail app and restart. Go to your home screen. Double tap the home button, find the mail app in the task bar, tap and hold down on the icon until it wiggles. Tap the minus sign to close the mail app.  To restart - Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut off. To start up, hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try the mail app again.

  • Next Previous buttons reading emails

How is possibile that mail version 4.4 still does not have the next and previous buttons when an in email is open? This is the only reason why I am still using entourage and outlook 2011.
The funny think is that iPhone mail application has very nice triangular buttons ..!
Does anyone knows a solution for this ?
    Thanks

How can you read emails without this extremely basic simple plain strait forward function?
I have provided this feedback to Apple for years now.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that!
I could buy an excuse that Apple doesn't think those features are necessary...except that they exist in iOS! It is a major oversight for them not to have it in Mail.
Well, maybe we'll get it in OSX Lion. Lion is supposed to introduce a lot of iOS features into OSX, so maybe the next/previous message buttons will be one of them.
Another feature that would be nice? The ability to separate the mail list by days (i.e. have dividers for emails sent on different days). Again, something that's pretty standard on just about every other email client, but is curiously missing from Mac Mail.

  • Sending text messages to email addresses

With my previous (dumb) Samsung phone I used to send text messages to email addresses all the time and everything was fine. Now, it turns out that when I send a text message to an email address with my iPhone 4 the phone sends it as MMS instead of text, and the problem with that is that my provider (Bell Canada) charges me extra for these MMS messages. I do not normally use picture or video messaging, but when I'm trying to create a message to an email address with MMS disabled, the phone tells me this cannot be done unless I enable MMS.
I can receive texts from email addresses just fine and they come in as text messages with no extra charges for me. How can I send a plain text message from iPhone to an email address without going through MMS?

Dododo, I have your same exact problem, right down to my last cell phone (samsung) that did it perfectly using only my included unlimited texts.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I think it sends them as MMS because bell sends the texts to email from the iphone as words on a notepad-like background that arrives in email as a picture attachment.
My problem is that I'd like to turn my 3G off when I don't need it, to save my mb's. Therefore sending emails right from the email app is not a viable alternative, when text --> email used to be free on my old, basic cell phone.
    Any suggestions/solutions are appreciated

  • Lost all previously sync'd emails and other strange things.....

Yesterday I noticed some odd things on my BB and was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
    1.  When I went into my phone to make a call around mid-day, the typical call log file was empty - first strange thing.
    2.  After I sent an SMS it was in listed in my mail as a sent message but then it would disappear from view.  The users received the message but my record of it disappeared without me deleting it.
    3.  I lost all previously sync'd emails from my corporate email before 4:56 PM yesterday.  Although emails from my comcast account which I sync still appeared.
    4.  When I looked at available memory it was 0% and then it slowly crept up to 14038765 bytes
Based on number 4 above, am I to assume my BB dumped items due to a memory issue?
Understanding that  can be the case I am still losing records of IM's received and sent without me deleting them.
Any thoughts from the forum members are welcome.
Lastly - what does Theme Controlled mean under General Options/ SMS and Email Inboxes?
    Have a nice day -

Grapechic, this probably has to do with your device memory. Please see the article below (pulled from the support page on blackberry.com).
Call and SMS logs disappear when BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory
    Doc ID : KB11570
    Last Modified : 2007-05-17
    Document Type : Support
    Environment
    BlackBerry® smartphone
    BlackBerry Device Software 4.2
ProblemWhen the BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory, Short Message Service (SMS) logs and call logs disappear.
CauseWhen the BlackBerry smartphone becomes critically low on memory, SMS messages and call logs will automatically be deleted in order to keep a minimum amount of free space available. This functionality is by design.
ResolutionIf the BlackBerry smartphone becomes low on memory, try the following:
Check how much memory is currently available. See KB04353 for further information.
Ensure that media is saved on the media card, and not on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Since web browsing results in cached files on the BlackBerry smartphone try clearing the browser cache. See KB03865 for further information.
Lower the reserved picture memory setting. See KB12383 for further information.
Use the application loader tool to remove any unused applications, such as themes, ring tones, or third-party applications.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. Check the available memory after the hard reset. See KB02141 for further information.
If the issue still persists, perform the following, checking the available memory after each step.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions see KB02141. Then clear unnecessary calls logs and phone messages.
Remove Phone Call and SMS log databases from the BlackBerry smartphone. See KB03974 for further information.
Perform an application load to erase all applications and install the latest BlackBerry Device Software. See KB03621 for further information.

When receiving a group message can u reply back to the sender only?

    Hi conhurst,
The easiest way to do that would be to forward it, and put in the Sender's email address in the "To"line....
