Previous month cost estimate

Hi,
Cost estimate of One material, which is a Semifinished goods nature is not released for March 09. But the Cost estimate of Finished goods is release in March 09, of which the above said Semifinished goods is part of BOM.
Now please suggest how to do the production in the Semifinished goods without cost estimate or any other way to release the cost estimate for March 09 (Previous month) or any otherway for this problem.
Regards
Prakash.

Hi Bhanu,
First, you check, when you released the Cost Estimate for that Semi-finished Product in the month of February, what was the "Costing Date To"?  If it is upto 31.03.9999 (for ex), then there is no problem.
You can make inventory transactions for that Material without any problem.
If it is only upto 28.02.2009, then you can Release the Cost Estimate in the current month.
Try this and get back to me if you face any error.

  • Deleting the released cost estimate -reg

    Hi,
I have created std cost estimate for one material through CK40N and released.
After that , I tried to delete the cost estimate through CK44 , The variant (costing name) only deleted but  i could not delete the released cost estimate  for the material.
No GR , sales invoice any posting were happened after releasing.
Can you suggest me, what could be the reason and  how to delete the cost esimate.
    Regards
    Karthikeyan

    Dear Karthikeyan,
If you want to delete the released cost estimate use CKR1,which is not recommanded,as it may create
    discrepancies.
CKR1 is used to reorganize or delete the existing or the future or the previous standard cost estimates.
CK44 is used to delete the costing run datas.

  • How SAP use transfer control or material cost estimate

    Hello!
I have strategy "3-Previous standard cost estimate" in transfer control material cost estimate.
I have cost estimate for product AAA with status KA and costing date from 01.01.2014.
Product AAA produced from component BBB.
Component BBB has two cost estimates with costing date from 01.01.2014 and 01.02.2014.
I run cost estimate for product AAA with costing date from 06.03.2014.
Cost estimate not use existing cost estimate for component and create new cost estimate.
In help.sap.com contains next information about transfer strategy 3 - The system searches for existing previous cost estimate.
why my system does not use the existing cost estimate for component?
    Thanks for attention.

    Thanks, Szymon!
I use russian interface and read russian help. Where stragegy 3 has name "Прошедшая плановая калькуляция" which means "The last planned cost estimate".
    This led me astray.
In english help i read next:
    Previous standard cost estimates
The system searches for an existing previous standard cost estimate.
    You are completely right!
    two more questions:
    - We can not use strategy 3 if we not realesed cost estimate as standard price?
    - What strategy we should use for transfer material cost estimate with status KA?
    Thanks

  • Delete Costing in Previous Month and Re-release in Previous Month

    Hi Experts,
I have a query, actually we have released costing of certain fg's in the month of march 09. One component which is common in all the fg's cost were wrong. hence all the costing of last month were released wrongly. Although we have corrected cost of that component thru MR21 in the current month. Now we want to delete costing of those certain fg's in the month of march and correct that component cost and want to re-release costing on 31.03.2009 date.
Can we do it. If yes, kindly help me out.Full Points to helping answers.
    Regards
    GR

    Hi G R,
It's true what the other folks have already suggested. Though you will be able to delete the Cost Estimate of Previous period (using CKR1 - which is not suggeted basically), you will not be able to run, mark and release for a previous date/period.
It is made not possible to avoid the data inconsistencies. Just imagine the reason and consequences, with the Old Standard Price, all you material transactions have been done and the period is also closed...now if you delete the Cost Estimate and try to re-run, how the system has to take the Inventory Valuation effects?
Hope this is clear, pls revert back for futher explanation...

  • Product Costing in Previous Month

    Hi Experts,
Actually we are using repetitive manufacting in our company, and we run the costing on every 1st day of the month, sothat we can book the production during entire month.
Now our management want to run the costing on 28th of previous month. Means for Production starting from 1st Jan 2012, we have to use the costing results on 28.01.2011, but system is not allowing to book the prodction in our system untill we run costing on 01.01.2012. Means we don't want to run the costing on 01.01.2012, but for Jan 2012, we will run the costing on 28.12.2011 and for feb production we will run the costing on 28.01.2012
How can I achive this, please suggest me urgently.
    Regards
    Ishu

    Hello Ishu
Check the costing variant you are using. In customisation for costing variant OKKN check the date control. In the date control configuration select cost date from as Start of next posting period and costing date to as end of next posting period.
So when you run the cost estimate this will be effective from 1st of next period.

  • Standard Cost Estimate Report Comparing Current vs Previous Year

    Hi Everyone,
Is there a standard SAP report that would provide materials with previous and current year standard cost estimates as found within the Costing 2 view of the material master?
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi,
You need to look into periodic reports. Here is the best one to provide the copmarision between two period -
    S_ALR_87099932.
Go into the report & select the costing runs taken in two diffrent periods. You will get all the required results of prices for two periods/costing runs.

  • We cannot do std cost estimate every month in ML

    HI
Can we do std cost estimate whenever required with changed price,
can i change the price in material master -how
    regards
    sowmya

    Hi,
We can do std cost estimate once in a month. If we want to do multiple times in a month we should reorganise the material cost estimate using CKR1.
We can change the material master price for a material with out standard cost estimate using MR21.
If standard cost estimate exist, use CKR1, the use MR21.

  • At the time of cost run CK40N, cost relese in previous month.

    Hi,
At the time of cost run CK40N, executing today or previous (05.04.2010). But Cost release in previouse month 31.03.2010.
I tried but system not allowing and saving the varient in previous period(31.03.2010).
Please provide solution and little biturgent. If any clarifiaction ask i will explain in detail.

    Hi Sreekanth,
We also faced the same issue with CK40N costing in previous month. What happened is that during testing in quality the new month started and the system is not allowing back date release. So we have to now open and close periods in MMPV and OB52 which is not possible because MM postings are pending. So the new costing release has to be carried after opening and closing of periods.

  • Previous cost estimate missing

    Hi All,
I'm still new in product costing. I have a situation like this :
    Material AAA plant 1111
Run cost estimate and released :
    - 28.06.2011 = RM147.65
    - 12.08.2011 = RM177.71
But when I checked in material master (MM03) - I don't see the previous cost which is the June. I only see current cost (August).
I checked CK13N - for the costing run on June - it's still exist, so It's NOT DELETED, But it does not appear in my material master.
Please anyone can help me to explain ?

  • Issue with Standard Cost estimates / Material Ledger

    Background:
We have been using SAP for the last 5 years with Material Ledger active. Due to a number of reasons, we have not revised its standard cost estimates from 2001 till now. This means that at month end, we do not mark and release prices as recommended, nor do we mark prices and use dynamic release.
    What Happened:
A new material called PFSW3 was made. This is a FERT. Before production
could start my team released the standard cost estimate for this material. Production was now able to proceed without problem. Then, when the time came to sell the material (VF02), SAP again raised the error 'cost estimate not found'. On checking the standard price in MM03, we discovered that the future cost estimate was missing. So we created and marked a new cost estimate in the middle of February 2007.
    Problem:
When the first sale took place, SAP released the marked cost estimate and posted a Price Change document to adjust for the new standard cost. I understand this was due to dynamic release. Now, when month end came, the system settled all the production orders of material PFSW3 but did not do multi level costing on it.
    Internal Investigation:
My team has determined that the material PFSW3 has price determination 2 set by mistake. All our other production materials (HALB and FERT) are
set to price determination 3 in the material master (accounting view).
    Questions:
    To sum this situation up,
we need to know why the material PFSW3 was not marked closed in its period status (CKM3) at the time of closing through CKMLCP?
What are the implications of not closing this material in Feb 2007 (current period status is showing 'Quantities and values entered')?
How can we close this material this month?
The future cost estimate is again missing for PFSW3 in March 2007 and I
fear we are going to face more problems as this material is sold to customers.
Please respond this is an urgent issue.

    Dear Shumyl,
Please, have a look at Note 645083 - Material period status set to "Closing Entry Completed" that might help to closing your material in previous period.
    Hope it will be useful.
    Regards,
    Flaviano.

  • How to download  Standard Price of the Previous Months

    Hi,
I have a request to download the standard prices of the previous month.
    Below is the Example:
    Material A having the current standard price of $ 100 in Jan,2011 and $ 90 in Dec,2010.
I can see the standard price of  $90 under Accounting View 1 against "Period 12.2010" Tab.
I would like to know how can I download the previous month standard prices for the whole list of Materials using Tables or any standard Report.
    Pandu

    Hi Pandu,
You can meet your requirement through SAP standard report. Find more details:
    Use t-code: S_P99_41000111 - Analyze/Compare Material Cost Estimates.
Enter the below details in selction screen:
    Plant,
    Material................ To ................
    Costing Variant,
Costing Date, Valid From (enter the range of dates. e.g. 01.10.2010 to 01.01.2011)
Costing Status = FR (Released Without Errors).
    Execute the above selction.
Check in your output layout/change the layout to get Costing date (Key), Costing Status. Material, Plant, etc.
You will be able to view/download the current month & previous month standard prices.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • FG Valuation basis - Std Cost estimate or Net sale value whichever is less

    Dear SAP Experts,
    Query 1 -
Valuation of  Finished goods is done on basis of standard cost estimate (CK24) or Net sale value whichever is less
*Net sale value u2013 Net sales ( Sales value  minus Sales deductions)
Eg : Std cost estimate gives FG price as $100, whereas Net sale value price of FG $80,
now the client wants FG values should be at $80
Is there any standard way,  wherein SAP can capture whichever is less i.e standard cost estimate vs Net Sale Value
Pl let us know the options and which options would be ideal for query 1
Query 2 u2013 Can we use CRK1 and MR21 to manually change FG price whenever Net sale value is less than std cost estmate price?
u2022     In case the market value is less than the std cost estimate (CK11n) ,then Is this the approach to manually value FG price using  CRK1 & MR21.
u2022     What could be the impacts if we follow this approach
For Eg: Impact on prev months WIP, Scrap, stock returns etc
u2022     We simulated CRK1 & MR21 and MR21 entries are posted successfully, however following below warning is the message is showed when CRK1 is executed
Note u2013 Material Ledger is not active
    Warning Message
Deleting current standard cost estimates can cause inconsistencies. Your comments please
    Message no. CK669
    Diagnosis
u2022     If you delete a current standard cost estimate, the fields for the cost estimate are set to zero in the material master record. If you use the material ledger, the standard prices in the material ledger master data are also deleted when you delete the current standard cost estimate. The material master record for the material thus does no longer contains a current standard price from a standard cost estimate.
u2022     If you delete an active standard cost estimate, you can no longer determine scrap, work in process and variations for previous periods.
u2022     In certain countries, it is a legal requirement to maintain records of standard pricing. Therefore, you should check whether you are obliged by law to keep records of your standard cost estimates. Please also contact the relevant accounting and inventory management departments.

    Dear,
    Query 1;
The FG or SFG will be valuated at Standard Cost there is no provision to enter Net sale value
    Query 2:
Do not user CKR1 to delete Cost Estimate because it can bring lot of Descripenceies in CO, SAP do not recommend the same.
You can run the revaluation at the month end or revise your activity rates so that you standard price will be change accordingly and your inventory will be re valuated.
Hope it is clear, it not then please revert.
    Br,Vivek

  • Should cost estimate price be released before ML closing?

    Hi,
Do we have to release the cost estimate price before we do the ML posting closing step? If yes then why the ML mark price and release price is placed at the last step of CKMLCP list of steps which is after the ML closing step?

    Hi,
    Lets take an example.
Current period is 02 (Feb 2012).
Previous period is 01 (Jan 2012).
Future period is 03 (Mar 2012).
Befor 31st of january you can create Std cost estimate CK40N (you can complete selection, structure explosion & costing) for Releasing Std cost on 1st Feb.
Open MM & FI Periods on 31st night or 01Feb early
Perform the marking and relaseing (CK40N)
Run CO month end closures eg. OH cal, WIP, Var, Set, etc.
Create Actual Costing Run (CKMLCP) for previous period (Jan). May be by this time we are in 1st week of Feb.
Complete all the steps of ACR (till Post closing)
Last step Mark Material prices (if you perform this step it will mark ACR prices as standard price for March period. This step has some limitations like Itemization will not be available for Std cost estimation. Read the help.sap.com for more details.
Hope the above example provides more clarity for your question.
