Previous music purchases

Hi, got a new I pad mini and trying to download previous purchases through I tunes. Says songs are downloading but they aren't showing in my music? Any ideas?!

Update: I just downloaded iTunes 9.0, but most of my purchased songs still dont play. I say 'most' because I tried an experiment today:
I bought one song from band 'X' from iTunes. I already had other songs from X before, but they werent working on my new iPod touch, as mentioned in my post above. However, after buying the new song, it will play along with all the other songs from X that I bought previously.
What the **** is going on?
Im going to reset and restore my iPod touch right now to see if that does anything - it didnt last night (before downloading iTunes 9).

How do I down load previous music purchases from iTunes.

You can currently only re-download music purchases if you are in the US (re-downloading), and then only if they are still available in the store and if you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them. If you are not in the US then have you not got backups of your purchases on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs that you can copy onto your computer and add to iTunes ?

  • HT201272 Can't re-download previous music purchases

Hello - I updated my iPhone 4 to the newest IOS 6 from my PC. After this update I'm not able to re-download all of my previous music purchases?! I am not able to see any previous music purchases in iTunes Store - only all of my previous app purchases... I have tried everything from this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519. I can see receips from all previous music purchases in iTunes Store under my account ID so Apple knows I have bought this music but somehow wont allow me to re-download it.... Would appreciate it if anyone know a little trick - I guess there's some settings that are wrong or something I can do to get all of my music-purchases back!

Have the same problem. The country is the USA.
    USA permits re-downloads.
So do you have another suggestion? Here's what Apple support says:
"click the iCloud download button next to each item to download them one by one, or click the iCloud Download All button at the bottom."
Unfortunately there is no "iCloud download button". Did a google images search for same, and it's definitely not there. What is there is a greyed-out icon which says "Downloaded." Click on this and the only option is "remove from list."

As you know how to open the iTunes Media folder, go to this folder and open iTunes. Then, go to Apps in iTunes and drag the IPA file of the app you want to show up to the iTunes window, so it should be added.
If it doesn't work, delete the IPA, empty the Trash and you will be able to download the application.

  • HT201272 Cant download previous music purchases

Hi, I'm having problems dowloading certain previous music purchases.  I can see the name of these songs in my library and even have a download cloud beside it, but cant access them.  I bought a lot of music in the UK before moving to Australia, would that make a difference?

I've got all my music still on a PC at my parents home in the UK, next trip home i will put it onto a portable hard drive.  I only took my music out on my Ipod at the time, but of course you cant retrieve music from there.  Thanks for your help.  It was annoying me i could see the names of the songs on my play list but couldn't access them.

  • I have recently opened a new account with Itunes.I want to download my previous music purchases to my new account which has a different computer name, email address and Apple ID. My credit card details remain the same. Please HELP.

How can I restore my old account music purchases which I closed, to my new current account which has a new computer name, email address and Apple ID? The credit card details remain unchanged, so would this act as a tracking device  for Apple to locate my substantial past purchases?

Why would you start another account?
You cannot transfer purchases to another account.

  • How to download previous music purchases

    I have iTunes 10.6.3 on OSX 10.5.8
When I go to the STORE -> Purchase section in iTunes, it is empty.  It should not be.
When I click Download Previous Purchases, it takes me to a page which has Music, Moves, TV Shows etc across the top.
When I click on Music, nothing happens.
I have tried Signing Out/In.  My computer is Authorised.
I tries following the steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
...but it does not work, and my iTunes window looks different in step 4.
    Any advice appreciated...

    OK I got it working.
My Safari was not up to date (I don't use it for web browsing).
I had been accessing the above windows from the left hand menu in iTunes.  For a laugh, I tried accessing via the right hand menu.  This link gave me a warning about Safari needing an update, whereas the left hand menu did not.
First click "iTunes Store" in the right hand menu, see the Home page with all the ads for pop music you don't want, then click "Purchased" in the "Quick Links" section to the right to get the warning.

  • I've lost all my previous music purchases

My library with musis & ringtones is blank how can I recover it..

Instructions here >   Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Note: Previously purchased music is only available through iTunes in the Cloud in Australia, Canada, Cypress, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Previously purchased TV shows are only available through iTunes in the Cloud in the United States.

  • The iTunes Store app freezes on my iPhone when I try to browse my previous music purchases.

Basically, when I browse the purchased section of the iTunes Store app, I can't scroll at first at all. I let the list load for a bit, and it will let me scroll a little bit, but it then freezes again.  I've never been able to make it to the bottom of the list of purchased songs. The screen has some strange visual disturbances, like white bars or grey bars above or below the list when I try to scroll sometimes.
I realize it's a long list, probably about a thousand songs or so, but it seems like there should be a way to do this. When I try to scroll through my purchased apps from the App Store app, it's also very choppy, and not all the icons will load, but I can get through them all, maybe because I have purchase far fewer apps than music.
I have tried turning the phone on and off. But it's a new phone, so I wasn't planning on doing a restore just yet for a problem like this, which seems like it could just be a problem on Apple's end.
Just wondering if this a known issue or if anyone else has had this issue?

    Try a reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
If it doesn't work, time for a restore.

  • How can I download previous music purchases in iTunes

There seems to have been a glitch in one track of an album purchased from the Store. On advice at an Apple retail store I deleted the tracks from the album (with the intent of re-downloading the album hoping for a clear download) and yet when I check available downloads I am told that all purchases have been downloaded. Any clues?
