Previous Operating System
I have a an iPod Touch - generation 2 and I was using the "Sleep" application and when it updated the operating system the "sleep" applicaton says it won't load because it needs a higher operating system which is not available for the iPod generation 2. It worked with the previous operating system so I wondered if I could revert back to the previous operating system? Any help is appreciated
If you still have the previous version of the app (the one that didn't require the later version of iOS) in your iTunes library or in a backup somewhere, you can restore that version into iTunes and resync it over to the iPod Touch.

Apple, please fix this bug. Sending scanned images to "Pictures" is not what I want nor what I was able to do in every previous operation system. I want to save all scanned items in a specific folder - NOT "PICTURES" Please fix this bug NOW!
I only use Image Capture, so I can't speak for other software.
Here is how I select a Scan To destination:
If you are using the minimal details screen, you should have the same submenu to the left of the page size. -
IOS 8.3 uses too much battery power. Can I remove it and go back to the previous operating system?
Downgrading is not supported.
As a test, restore as a new phone, not from a backup, and see if the battery life is better. You can restore from a backup after your test. -

I have recently upgraded to Mavericks and I am being subjected to additional password requests and the monitor take store ever to boot up. Approximately 5 mins which is way in excess of previous operating system.
You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

Yosemite looks like a downgrade, flat, childish and no more ability to make the view of anything personal. How do I go back to the previous operating system?
Erase your hard drive using Disk Utility from the Recovery HD, then restore your old system from your backups.

I own an iPhone 4S and have installed ios8. Subsequently none of my apps will work. How do I uninstall and go back to the previous operating system?
Good luck at the Genius bar.
I have figured out that if I do a hard restart of the phone the apps will work for a time, but then they begin to all freeze up again after a short time.
This may be a problem of not enough free storage. Have you checked the storage used by your apps?

How do I get rid of Maverick on my computer and revert to the previous operating system? This update has nearly ruined my iMac destroying its speed, efficiency and flexibility.
If restoring to the previous state from backup isn't an option (hopefully it is), it may be easier to try to resolve what is causing problems. It's possible that some incompatible software you have installed is messing with the smooth running of your Mac.
Can you describe more fully what problems you are experiencing? You could also run EtreCheck and post the contents of its report here - it may reveal the cause as there is some software 'out there' that is known to create problems: http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck -
Is Lion going to be offered on a disk similar to the previous operating systems where you can get a family pack? of like 5 instals?
You don't even need the family pack anymore! Just use the same Apple ID to connect to the App Store on each computer and upgrade... pay for it once and you can use it multiple times. According to the Lion page on www.apple.com, this is intended, and...
According to the App Store OS X Lion 10.7 License Agreement Section 2 Paragraph B:
B. License from Mac App Store. If you obtained a license for the Apple Software from the Mac App Store, then subject to the terms and conditions of this License and as permitted by the Mac App Store Usage Rules set forth in the App Store Terms and Conditions (http://apple.com/legal/itunes/ww/) ("Usage Rules"), you are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license:
( i ) to download, install, use and run for personal non-commercial use one (1) copy of the Apple Softward directly on EACH Apple-branded computer running Mac OS X Snow Leopard or OS X Snow Leopard Server ("Mac Computer") that you own or control;
et al.
This means that you can buy OS X Lion with your Apple ID, and any Mac you own (or have control over) that is legally defined by the license agreement can be connected by the same Apple ID and upgraded.

I have just updated the operating system on my ipad2 to iso7. Big mistake. It is ugly and unpleasant to use, and the Safari element comes loaded with icons I will not be using, but can't seem to get rid of. Does anybody know how to change the operating system back to the previous one?
Thanks.Firstly, the icons when you load safari are your bookmarks in the favourite section. To remove them you can simply either delete them or move them to another bookmark folder. To access your bookmarks tap the blue book in the top right corner and then go through to bookmarks and select and edit from there, goodluck :)

How do I downgrade a computer to a previous operating system?
I recently upgraded to Yosemite but I didn't like it. Can I downgrade? If so how?
Hello Hamstersrule,
In order to revert to a previous version of the OS, you would need to have a backup in Time Machine of your system before you upgraded. This article will help you do that:
OS X Yosemite: Revert to a previous OS X version
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
