my daughter locked herself from her ipod with a passcode she forgot ?  how do we reset the ipod?

    From another post by Philly_phan:
Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • I bought a used ipod touch from someone on craigslist and it has a password on it which I do not have.  How do I reset the ipod

Have a used ipod touch which apparently have a passcode on it.  I do not have the passcode and the seller will not respond to me.  How can I access the ipod to open it and reset everything.

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes.

If not successful, try DFU mode.

No.  You won't be able to activate and use it without the help of the previous owner and no one, including Apple, can help.

  • My daughter has changed her  ipod  password so many times ,how do i reset the ipod  when i cant get passed enter passwod step

my daughter has locked herself out from her ipod and cant remember her new password  .how do i reset this

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • My granddaughter forgot her unlock passcode? How can we reset the iPod touch without losing her music?

My granddaughter forgot her unlock passcode to her iPod touch 4. How can we unlock her iPod?

you can only restore the iPod using:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212, but all data (purchases excluded) will be lost.
If the music was purchased with iTunes, here's how to redownload it: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519  but all other music is lost.

A Reset just restarts the iPod; it is not erased.  In case the battery is drained, you can do it while the iPod is connected to power.

  • How do you reset the iPod Classic?

My iPod Classic froze up the other day and is totally nonresponsive. Does it need repair, or can it be reset?

Try a hard reset.  To do this, toggle the hold switch on and then off, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  This may or may not work the first time around, so don't be afraid to try it more than once.

  • HT4113 How do you reset the Ipod once it is locked up and you frogot the code

    Help

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

  • How do you reset the ipod if the restrictions forbid this?

    what the title says

Restrictions can't keep you from holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back. You will not lose any data doing a reset, but you will, if you set up the device "as new ipod".

  • HT201441 I bought iPhone 4s device from the owner and the previous owner is not present and the device has already been erased, how can I use this device using my Apple ID and iCloud

I bought iPhone 4s device from the owner and the previous owner is not present and the device has already been erased, how can I use this device using my Apple ID and iCloud

    Hello adilx
The only way to get passed that and to use that iPhone is to ask the previous owner to remove it from icloud.com in the Find my iPhone section.
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515
If the previous owner is not present
Make sure the device is powered on and connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Then contact the previous owner and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account:
Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Click All Devices to open a list of devices linked to their account, then select the device to be removed.
Click the Erase button to erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, don't enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device is erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.
