Previous persons data on download
Hi,
We have an inquiry screen where you can list the research output of a person and download the data to excel.
For some reason the 'download to excel' link on the report grabs the previous persons data instead of the current query - but I can't see why it would do that. When you look at the screen in debug all the parameters are pointing at the current person?

In case anyone's interested I finally found the problem. In a previous post a person that was getting 'no data found' when trying to do a csv extract was advised:
"When form items are displayed, their source values or default values are used for display purposes only, i.e., those are the values you see in the rendered form but they don't get saved in session state until/unless you submit the page. So the CSV page, which runs in a separate database session, cannot see those values for the item because they are held only in package state of the database session of the base page. To address this you can run a before/after header process or computation for the item to store the desired seed values into session state before the form is rendered."
Which is what we had done. It turns out that the computation had to be 'After Regions' not before/after header - otherwise it wasn't grabbing the latest calculations for the current person - and therefore the csv output was for the previous person.

Until the most recent versions of Firefox (let's say FF 10 or 11), when the software crashed I had the option to resume the last session when reopening it. I could do this even when I made it clear all my personal data when closing it in normal ways (i.e., when I quit the program without crashing, Firefox would not keep any personal information).
Now, however, Firefox will only restore the previous session after crashing if I don't make it clear personal data after normal quitting.
How can I fix this? I want it to restore previous session only after crashing, not after a normal exit.Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop down list:

#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Did you disable to remember form data if you do not want Firefox to remember it?<br />
Be aware that you still have to remove already saved form data in that case via Clear Recent History.

Something weird is happening in V4 so I've already rolled back to 3.6. On entering details (names, address, passwords) on website forms, V4 is sending personal data entered previously (cached?). It ignores what's just been entered on the form - it sends the old data! Has anyone else experienced this?
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

In Firefox 4 how can I cause the date on downloaded files to be the current date? (Some are and some are not. In FF3 the dates were ALWAYS the current ones.)

Employee overview and enhancing personal data
Hello,
at the moment I am testing the ESS and Portal KM. I would like to have an overview over all employees with enhanced informations about them. This could vary from favorite books to a complete consultant's profile with and overview about all the projects in the history.
What is the best way to implement it? Is there something to enhance (like personal data, employee search) or is it better do develop something by myself? What would be the best way/tools to implement something like this?

i would recommend serious custom developemnt for this requirement where you can keep pernr (employee code ) as the key field, create a custom ztable in it have field like
Hobbies, Interset, favourite books etc etc ..
can can build a complete Employee profiler.
on WDJ first screen you can search employee on first name last name basis, upon clciking it you can show all his profile, interest, hobby, education, previous employer, experience etc..
This employee profiler become a very nice applicaiton on ESS as well as for the HR. We also have Employee photo in it.

Solid Black Lines/Blocks Over Personal Data
Some printouts have solid black lines and/or solid black boxes in sections of the printed page. They generally appear over areas containing personal data (name, address, account #, etc.). Typically happens when printing statements from third-party websites. Occurs when printing black and white only and when printing color. Printer is calibrated and not experiencing other issues. Any thoughts oh what is causing this and how to correct? Thank you.

Nervous about losing personal data when updating Xperia X10 to 3.0

I was scammed on Facebook chat: is my computer and/or my personal data at risk?
I fell for a Facebook chat scam, and now I am concerned that my personal data is at risk. A FB friend started a chat with me, so I joined in. We were making "small talk" and then my friend started in with something like: 'I have wonderful news. I have made money on a Facebook lottery'. I stopped the chat immediately after that, closed FB, quit my browser and then shut down my computer. I feel so "violated". Have I been hacked and am I at risk for having my personal information stolen by these hackers??? What can/should I do now?
These FB chat scams seek to convince you to download and install something on your Mac. If you did not do that, and you supplied no personal information to this total stranger, then there is no reason for you to be concerned.
What can/should I do now?

I need to get rid of the variables p_start and p_end so that i cannot see them in the crystal report and include the Frequency in the procedure to get the Data based on the Dates.

My 2006 MacBook Pro has broken. There is a little bit of drive noise when I turn it on, but then nothing happens. It is no big deal. Most of my files were backed up. There are a few files I would like to recover if possible, but nothing worth a major effort.
I have seen that broken MacBook Pro's go for about $300 on eBay for parts, so I would like to sell the MacBook Pro. However, I only want to do that after I am sure that my personal data is wiped out. Does anyone know how I can accomplish that? Does anyone know of an easy way to search the old hard drive for some of the data that I lost? Can a Genius Bar take care of this stuff for me (and how much do they charge?)?

The ONLY real secure way to be sure that noone may recover data from your drive is, to remove the drive, and drill one or two 1" holes thru the disk.
A bit less secure but useful way is, to wipe out the data with a tool that's overwrite all sectors of the drive with randomized data in multiple runs.
For example: Permanent Ereaser http://www.edenwaith.com/products/permanent%20eraser/
Independent tests bring out, that even specialized recovery companies with forensic tools are unable to find useful data after such a run.

I'm in cycle mode, and 'merge' is clicked in preferences. However, when I record, my previous track data keeps getting overwritten. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong. Interestingly, I can still see the data in the region.

Can't see the ESS Additional Personal Data link within Personal Information
Hi All,
For some reasons, I can not see the Additional Personal Data link within the ESS Personal Information iView. I have checked the Homepage framework and the existence of the iView in the PCD and everything appears to be fine.
Do I need to assign any additional infotype to my id or give myself specific authorisations to see this link?
I would really appreciate if you could provide an answer to my query.

I think mostly you have maintained the data in PA30 Transaction and had data in Info type 0105.
After this try to check with your EA-HR patch and SAP HR patch in the services. If both are not maintained at the same patch levels such type of problems will occur.
