Previous Post NOT solved - where is Sent folder?

I can find the Sent folder in my gmail account, but in my regular email account there is no Sent folder.  Any help or suggestions?

Since you didn't specify for GMAIL click on the Upper left where it says INBOX(x) and select The SENT folder...
In Mail for POP/SMTP click on Menu Then Folders (Maybe under the more if you don't see it on your default Menu) then select Sent.
Enjoy.

  • My sent messages are not going in my sent folder... Why not?

When I send a message it should appear in my Sent Folder... They don't... Where are they going? My sent folder doesn't work! How do I fix this?

You do not say whether you are using a standard Pop account using it's own folders Or a Pop mail account using Global Inbox(Local Folders) OR whether this is an IMAP mail account?
So the answer depends on your setup:
'Tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Copies & Folders' for the mail account.
    * Select: 'Place a copy in'
If Pop mail account using own folders:
    * Select : 'Sent' folder on and pop mail account
If Pop mail account using Global Inbox(Local Folders):
    * Select : 'Sent' folder on and Local Folders.
    If IMAP mail account:
    * Select : 'Other' and then choose the Sent folder on imap mail account.
    * Note: that sometimes the 'Sent' folder on server may be called something similar eg: 'Sent Items'
    Click on OK.

So, Where sent messages are stored?
Because if I go into my email account nothing appears in the outbox?Of course not. Why would it appear in your e-mail reader's outbox when your e-mail reader did not send the e-mail ?
    my Pl/sql looks like:
    BEGIN
    utl_mail.send(sender => '[email protected]',
    recipients => '[email protected]',
    subject => 'Test',
    message => 'HOlix');
END;And this results in the Oracle database server to contact the mail server and send the mail. Your e-mail client is not part of this process. Your e-mail reader does not know about that e-mail. Your e-mail reader is a client- not a server. It has no reason to know what another e-mail client (your PL/SQL code) send or did not send.
You want an outbox? You need then to design and code one for your PL/SQL mail client.
I dont understand what happen?Perhaps you should read up on WHAT a mail (SMTP) server is, HOW it works, and WHAT a PPOP3/IMAP mailbox is, and HOW that works?

  • Email sent but not found in the Sent folder

I just sent an email with Mail on my new Mavericks OS, I heard the "sent" sound, yet the email is not visible in the "Sent" folder and no error is displayed.
Where is it? Has it really been sent? 15 minutes have passed now, but it is still not visible and I'm still online and connected to internet.
I believe something similar might have happened to me already in the past.
    Thanks.

The email was sent from my mac.com account and it is not visible also when I access the Sent folder on iCloud.

  • I sent photos out of my IPhoto library, but they do not appear in my "Sent" folder on my GMail although that mail account was in the "From" field?

I sent photos out of my IPhoto library, but they do not appear in my "Sent" folder on my GMail although that mail account was in the "From" field?

If you're using iPhoto as your email client a sent version is not created.  You need to BCC yourself in order to get a copy.
The better solution is to use Mail as your email client in conjunction with Gmail.  This will give you a sent copy, better access to your contacts and, if so desired, photo templates to use via Mail's stationary feature.

  • TS3276 After updating software yesterday, noticed that sent emails are not showing up in Sent Folder for one of my accounts.

After updating software yesterday, noticed that sent emails are not showing up in Sent Folder?

Are you storing Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server via your .Mac account with Mail?
If so, do you access your .Mac account with an email client on another computer or regularly access your account via webmail on another computer?
If not, any other reason you need to store Drafts and Sent messages on the server?
While composing a message with Mail, it is temporarily saved in the account's Drafts mailbox so sounds like something went wrong with the process between finishing and sending the message with Drafts and Sent being stored on the server.
If you don't have any need for this, better to store Drafts and Sent messages locally on the hard drive with Mail.

  • HT1529 how can I open the outbox for mail? That is, mail that i have finished and pressed 'send' but has not appeared in the 'sent' folder

how can I open the outbox for mail? That is, mail that i have finished and pressed 'send' but has not appeared in the 'sent' folder

The reason it will not be in the sent folder is, it failed to send.
If it failed to send, then you will see the Outbox icon. 'Pending' would be a more descriptive name.
When it eventually sends, the Outbox will not show in the Mail app interface.
Until it is sent it will stay stuck in the Outbox.
If it refuses to send, you can manually delete it in Finder, at the location ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Outbox.mbox
Close Mail first, before you search for that email using the Finder.

  • Email sent on my iphone 5 does not show in the sent folder in mail on my macbook pro and vice versa especially since update to Yosemite

I have an iphone 5 and a Macbook pro. Since upgrading to Yosemite, when I send an email from my yahoo email account or another email account linked to my website, on my iphone, the emails don't show in the sent folder in mail on my macbook pro and vice versa.
I have deleted the accounts and re-created them on both my iphone and macbook pro but the samething keeps happening.
When last I was at the istore, they were unable to sort it out and said I needed to book it in.
Any suggestions that will prevent me from booking my macbook pro in are welcome.

    Hi,
Are you saying you are trying to synch iMessages across two iPhones ?
Or do you mean you are trying to get iMessage that were synced to one iPhone to show on another ?
Whilst the first is possible - from the date you add the second iPhone the second  is not possible.

  • IPhone Notes appear in mail sent folder

My iPhone notes suddenly appeared in my email sent folder. They are sent to "no recipient". These do not appear when I look at my sent folder on a computer, only on my iphone.
Is this normal? Were these actually sent to no one or were they sent to emails in my contact list??

Can anyone explain how Notes are backed up to gmail?
This is what i'm guessing but I would like confirmation: because my notes are backed up to gmail, they are being "sent" to gmail, and therefore are appearing in my sent folder?
Does this confirm that my Notes were never actually sent to anyone, it's just a place where they are being saved...?

  • My sent emails do not save in the sent folder. After mozilla runs the indexing service the emails disappear from the sent folder. I've checked the account settings and its correct. What do I need to do?

My sent emails are not being saved in the sent folder. When Mozilla indexes the sent folder, it simply deletes them from the folder.

Mozilla '''''Firefox''''' doesn't do email - and this is the Firefox support forum.

  • Folder with question mark - Previous posts not resolving my issue

    Good evening everyone
I have a Macbook Pro, which I bought in 2009.
I have never had any problems, and I have been regularly deleting rubbish to keep the memory ok (Pictures, downloads, old text docs etc)
I went online yesterday afternoon, to check out some information - It was fine. I closed the lid, and returned last night to use it.
When I opened it up, there was a white screen with a grey folder with a question mark flashing. As there was no cursor or response from the keyboard, I kept my finger on the power off button so it shut down.
I turned it back on to see the same screen.
I then went online via my iphone to search the meaning behind this error, and read several different troubleshooting feeds. I understand the error is because my macbook cannot find the files it needs to start up, or the hard drive has failed.
I followed the different options to the letter and each have been unsuccessful, my problem is, I have found no advice for when these instructions fail to work.
    I have tried:
Holding the 'c' button when hearing the chimes
Holding both shift buttons upon starting up
Holding down CMD, ALT, P,R upon start up
And I have also inserted my install disc.
All of these end in the same result - The apple logo appears on the screen, and then after a while, the loading circle appears - It then stays like this and does not give me the option to safe boot, or choose a language, or select disc utility.
Also, I can not eject my install disk.
Please can somebody help me with what I can do, or perhaps what the next step is?
    Thanks very much,
    Leah

    Hello Leah.....
That usually indicates that your Hard Drive is either failing or has failed.
Best solution is to take it to the Apple Store and have them check it out for you to see if that indeed is the problem.
As to eject your disk, power up your mb while holding the eject button or right click your trackpad until the cd ejects.
    Good luck....

  • My sent mail does not show in the sent folder

I can send mail but the mail doesn't show in the Sent mail folder...why is that? I am a Verizon user.

It's fixed...I changed settings Mailbox Behavior to "on the server." Worked for my iPad mini, also.

  • Mail not saving messages in Sent if previously in Drafts

This question was already posed several months ago but not really answered so I am trying it again.
I sometimes save a draft message in the draft folder only to send it later. Often it is the case that this previously saved draft does not appear in the Sent folder after being sent. I use IMAP settings and have four accounts running simultaneously. Other than in this case, mail is saved consistently in the sent folder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Gerry

Thanks for discovering this issue being connected to drafts. I have trouble with this for a couple of months as well.
Since you assume it to be connected to "drafts", I suggest to deselect "Store draft messages on the server" for your IMAP-Account. I just did this for myself, to see if it helps, and can't give you results yet. Maybe you just wanna try simultaneously. I guess, the reason for our problem could me some messy communication between Mail and the server, where one party get's confused.
    Greetings

  • Messages sent on device do not show up on Mac in ICloud Sent folder - Why?

When I send a message on my IPad, it shows up on the Cloud, but does not appear in my Sent folder in Mail on my Mac ICloud mail account

Joelrsny had the much easier fix:
For Sent folder not showing on the iPhone.
ALL of these ways work to add a Gmail account to the iPhone. Its not how you add it, its the settings in Gmail causing these folders not to appear.
Do not add the account to the iPhone first. Go to Gmail.com in a browser, log in to your email account and hit settings at the top right.... Select the Labels Tab at the top. On the right, you will see check boxes. Check all the folders you want to appear in imap accounts. Once you check them, go and add the account by just picking add Gmail account on your iphone settings for mail. ALL the folders you checked will appear...
    Done!

  • Rule Forwarded Messages are NOT in Sent folder

I have several rules which filter & automatically forward messages elsewhere. The forward works most of the time BUT it does not appear in my Sent folder. Any insight or help would be appreciated...

Thanks for that hint. Unfortunately I was not so lucky as you were. Also when trashing the .plist only the mac.com account remains in the account list after restart of Apple Mail. All other accounts need to be reinstalled
Still Mail does not store the mails in the sent folder. Need to say:
    - the "non-storing" is random, not all sent mails are affected. Sometime it is OK, sometimes not
    - Not only the Mac account is affected, it can happen also on my office accounts.
I am happy for further hints
