Previous Version of Local Repository

Hi ALL.
I need some help....
Want to find out if there is a way of retrieving my local repository's work?
The issue I face is that I mistakenly used the "Get Lastest Version"  (from the Central Repository) feature & as a result it has overwritten my work in my local repository.
Is there a way to revert back?? I know the one way would have been to have created an .ATL file.
You help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff.
They probably have.
Nevertheless, I found that most of the data flows are published in the Central Repo.
So what I did, is the the logs from a previously run job to see which dataflows were used, and I basically then re-used the same data flows, as a result the re-work was not as much.
Anyways moral of the story, ALWAYS make ATL back-ups.
Thanks guys for your help!

  • Can you re-release an app only in English while previous versions were localized

Like I said in the title: I want to release a new version for my app in ENU only, however previous version supported multi-languages. Can I do this? If so, what happens to the non-ENU language copies of the app (previous version)? Are those app still available to users in non-ENU app store?
    Thanks for your help!

    HI
Don't use WAV format as you will not retain metadate. You should use aiff if space is not a problem but Apple lossles format will be just as good with smaller file size.
When you reimport your CDS, you will be asked if you wish to replace existing copies. Select yes, you data changes should be retained. Be aware that when you reimport, CD track names and album title must match your existing files, otherwise they will not replace existing versions.

I updated vietmobile remote files app. this app is broken on iOS 5.1.1 I do not have a backup of the previous version of the (paid) app, how can I roll back to the previous version? Is there a repository of previous versions? Am I boned?
Seems silly to not allow a rollback from a file repository of previous app versions.

    >All apps are tied to the account that downloaded it, so to be able to sync back the previous version you would need to still have your copy of that version
I'm not sure I follow, I have not sync'd the ipad with my computer. I just saw an update in the app store and took it.
I tried to del and install the app from the purchased tab in the app store, that reinstalled v2.1 of the app. This also fails to launch.
I have made two service requests to the developer, no response at this time.
Is there somewhere I can download and install Remote Files version 2 file? I can only find the new version 2.1 in the app store.

  • Oracle VM 3.1.1 and local repository

    Hi there,
I have created one LUN hardware RAID 10 for 4x300G SAS disks, and then installed Oracle VM Server 3.1.1, during the installation I determined the remaining space on sda for Oracle VM repository on partition sda2 mounted on directory /OVS OCFS2 file system, installation completed successfully, and then I installed Oracle VM Manager 3.1.1 on a separate machine it is installed and working fine.
Now, Oracle VM Manager discover the Oracle VM server smoothly but unable to detect that remaining space on /OVS, my question how to use this remaining space for Oracle VM repository as I read on the new release document "Release Notes" : said that this issue is fixed with this release and mentioned it as bug in their previous version. I wish if any ideas or workaround to fix this issue as I always hope, there is a manual intervention to solve this issue and want at the same time to keep performance benefit of RIAD 10 configuration.
    Thanks in advance,

Sorry, you get to do it over.
You must install the Local Repository on an unused, complete, unpartitioned LUN of it's own. Build about a 50G LUN for Oracle VM and and additional LUN for the remaining terabyte. OVM will then see the space and utilize the repo. Create a non-clustered Server Pool.
You can put OVM in much smaller space, but I like to have "extra" (add a /dev/sda4 and mkfs on it) stuff on my OS disks. If you don't want to do that, OVM fits nicely in 5G. I"d give it 10G for growth with later upgrades, however.

  • Local Repository User Rights for the Data Designer

    Hello,
we are using the Data Services with 4 users and one local repository stored on the server.
Is it possible to hide in the Data Designer foreign objects and projects from other users in the local repository? What's the best practice for that, for every user a seperate repository or to restrict the repository rights with the cmc?
    Our system:
    Windows Server 2008
    Data Services 4.0 SP1
    IBM DB2 9.7 (Repository)
Thanks for some tips and hints!

    Hi Alexander,
At any point in time, you should only have one user connected to one repository in Designer.
If two users are using the same repository at the same time, then there is a risk of corruption of repository objects.
Best practice is to have a repository for each (concurrent) developer and a central repository for version management.
Depending how testing is organised, you might also need to have repositories for unit test / QA (UAT) and finally a production repository.
For good measure, an additional central reposotiry for production can be valuable:
    - if development for new project start before the 'previous' project has gone into live.
    - You can prepare go-live by checking in all the objects required for live into central-production first.
    - It's the final safety measure, if objects in production are corrupted and dev/test systems have modified versions.
So, a typical landscape would look like this:
    DEVELOPMENT:
n number of development repositories, one for each developer
    1 test repository (local)
    1 dev central repository
    TEST
    1 UAT repository (local)
    PROD
    1 PROD repository (local)
    1 central repository

  • Error when trying to make local repository (solved)

i'm trying to make a local repository for a laptop without internet connection.
on my desktop, the packages are in /var/cache/pacman/pkg and the corresponding PKGBUILD in /var/lib/pacman/local. but whenever i run (as root)
    #gensync /var/lib/pacman/local /var/cache/pacman/pkg/laptop.db.tar.gz
    i get the following error:
gensync: building database entries, generating md5sums...
    gensync: compressing to /var/cache/pacman/pkg/laptop.db.tar.gz...
tar: *: Cannot stat: No such file or directory
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
i can see the file laptop.db.tar.gz, but it's only 45 bytes!

Maybe you could describe what you are doing a bit more. What I gather is that you want to take the pacman cache from the desktop system and somehow (how?) use this to update (or install to?) a laptop.
You can make the desktop cache into a repository with gen_repo - but I forgot to say that you need to check that only a single version of each package is present in the cache (I think pacman -Sc should do that).
If the laptop and desktop are then connected, e.g. by lan, you can set pacman.conf on the laptop to point at this repository (e.g. using NFS). Or you can copy the repository to the laptop and set pacman.conf to point at it.
Another possibility would be to copy the pacman db (/var/lib/pacman/) to the laptop, and the package cache, then use pacman -S to install stuff. For that you don't need gen_repo, etc. Or you could just mount the desktop cache using NFS.
There are all sorts of possibilities ... did you have something particular in mind?

  • I do updates and then have to reinstall previous versions - time and time again because of the number of unsupported add-ons

4 or 5 times I've updated Firefox only to have to reinstall the previous version due to incompatibility with add-ons / plug-ins / toolbars. I'm not a big user of Toolbars but I have some add on I use daily.
The last 3 times I did a "suggested by Firefox" update I've had to reinstall a previous version from my saved files in order to use Firefox. This problem has caused me to return to IE as my default browser - but unwillingly.
My current setup is Firefox 4.0.1 Beta and I had to reinstall a version 3 in the Firefox folder until addons starting working in this 4.0.1 Beta. However 4.0.1 has always hung up, even opening a tab and ceases to respond; sometimes for minutes.
I run Win XP - SP3 Dell Pentium 4 - 3.0ghz with 4 gigs of DDR2 - GX520. So it's not an equipment problem - (I have 4 PC's on my home LAN - although each serves it's purpose and seldom are 2 used at the same time.
When I installed 4.0.1 and then reinstalled 3.x ... I've been hoping for an update --- I love Firefox - have ever since first use - and then today I saw the update versions had jumped from 4 all the way to 7. I was enthused.
Same issue. On install over the V 3.x it showed 6 items of add-ons that were incompatible. I did not remove the V 7 ... I simple reopened the 4.0.1 beta. I use it for single page browsing as tabs locks it up or slows it to a crawl.
I'm having to continue using IE as my default --- I always keep a backup browser, but I don't care for much of anything that has an MS on it's name.
I've never posted to Mozilla ... but the idea crossed my mind over a year ago when I updated and had to back-up and reinstall. WHY can't a program precede the update to check for compatibility, just as an upgrade adviser from one OS to another?
This was the biggest list of all. NET Framework Assistant, Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, Roboform ... there were 2 others. I don't use the Yahoo Toolbar. I have Google Toolbar installed but keep it hidden except when I need it (for Page Rank, etc., I work websites).
But I won't use a browser that doesn't support AI Roboform.
I honestly love Firefox. I code webpages - .asp, .html and do SEO ... but I don't know the difficulty of writing even a small application. Would it be too difficult to have a small program that would check for these add-on incompatibilities before installing the updates.
I was impressed with 4.0.1 beta until I realized that opening a new window or tab bogged it down.
I want Firefox back but not with band-aids and work-around bandages. Is there a version between 4.0.1 and v7 which I tried tonight that would support my plug-ins / add-on. My experience with Firefox using versions up to 3.x has been great. But for months and months I open 4.0.1 and open my TV guide at ZapIt and then I've had to use IE 8 for all my web browsing.
My most important add-on is for Roboform and 2nd would be for Google Toolbar - but on a scale of 1-10 Roboform is a 10+ and Google Toolbar a 3.
If this post does not go to the support team at Firefox then how would I go about suggesting an Update Adviser prior to installing an update?
Anyone with a flexible solution - even short term - that would allow me to see Firefox improvements since the v4 I'm using would be more appreciated than I could ever express.
Since I've never posted before I'm not even sure how I'll get a response or be able to see any responses. Something during the registration said I could get an email when a reply was posted.
Thanks again for listening to me whimper and beg for a workable Firefox; I miss it.

this is all I can find, thank you for your time.

I am trying to update to iTunes 10 to us my new iPad, but I can not remove a corrupted? "apple software update" program... I can get everything else off, but due to "previous version" of software update it will not continue.
I stopped in to see one of the genius at the local store who referred me to "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable" (I am trying to install it on a Windows XP System)
The last version on iTunes on my PC was iTunes 7.
    Thanks for your help,
    Julia from Woodridge

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • I try and install firefox 7 and it wants to reboot to finish uninstalling a previous version but rebooting and restarting doesn't help

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 - Restore Previous Versions - Restored File Filled with Nulls

    ISSUE:
The Restore Previous versions feature on my file server stopped working some time in the recent past.  If I look at the Previous Version for a file or folder the items are listed and they show a valid file size.  However, when I restore a previous
version of a file it is completely filled with nulls.  I have tried local restores on the server and remote restores.  The results are the same; I get a file that is the correct size but completely filled with nulls.  The Server is Windows 2008
R2 64.  I have searched for any reports of similar issues to no avail.   I'm looking for any ideas on how to resolve the issue preferably while maintaning archived files.

    Hello,
Can you help me with this too?
    My Shadow copy stop working!
When my clients right click on Folders, they saw only date in the past.. and the new date not comming!
When i went to file server

  • How do I revert my iTunes library to previous version?

I have had horrible experience with my B/W 40GB clickwheel -- using with Windows XP. Several crashes and each time takes 20+ hours of trying various fixes to get it back up and working. This time I can't get it to restore, no matter what I try. (Only thing that I haven't tried is taking it to a Mac to restore. BTW, if I take it into a Circuit City, do you think they'll let me use the Mac on their floor to restore my iPod? I don't live near an Apple store and don't know anyone who owns one.)
Anyway, I'd like to revert to a previous version of both iTunes and iPod Updater, 6.0.5 and 2006.06.28, respectively, in hopes that that will put me back in business. But I have been unsuccessful because iTunes tells me it can't read my library because it was "created in a later version of iTunes", i.e. 7.0.1 or 7.0.2. Can I revert my library? Do I need to reinstall iTunes 7.0.2 and do something?
How can so many of us be having such horrible problems with iTunes 7.0.x (and Windows in general?) and still no fixes?? If this thing hadn't been such an expensive gadget, I would have chucked it out the window a long time ago and gotten some sleep.
Thanks for any help you can provide!!!

    First, go through this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538
Restart the computer when you're done.
When you get the system configuration message, click OK, and cancel the utility when it opens.
    Open My Computer
    Click Tools > Folder Options
    Click the view tab
Towards the bottom, select the option to "show hidden files and folders"
    Click "apply" and "ok"
    Open:
    C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings
Right click on the temp folder and click delete
    Empty the recycle bin
    Restart the computer
Now, go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall anything that says iPod for Windows
    Uninstall anything that says iTunes
    Then, open C:\Program Files
Delete the iTunes folder (if it's there)
    Open the iPod folder
Delete the bin folder (if it's there)
Now, go to My Music and double-click the iTunes folder. There is a data file that is simply labelled "iTunes Library." Delete it.
Go here to download and install iTunes 6.0.5
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes605forwindows.html
Go here to download and install the corresponding iPod Updater
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ipodupdater20060628forwindows.html
When it's done installing it should ask you to restart your computer. Go ahead and do so. Then, try to open iTunes and let it put your library back together. When it has done this, exit iTunes and go back into your system configuration utility. (Click Start > Run and type MSCONFIG) On the general tab, choose the option for "normal startup" and click "apply" and "close" and restart the computer again. This has your Windows running normally. You should be OK from here on out.

  • In place upgrade to 2012 R2 fails, Setup can't continue. Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of windows will be restored.

I have multiple Windows Server 2008 R2 machines in which I am attempting to do an in place upgrade to 2012 R2, and it is repeatedly failing.
Setup gets all the way through, and it says Getting ready, followed immediately by an error saying: Setup can't continue.  Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of Windows will be restored.
    I am attempting to install:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter (Server with GUI)
    x64 Date modified 3/18/2014
I have found several posts, many discussing how disk space can be an issue, I have increased disk space so it shouldn't be an issue.  I have also made sure the only only partition on disk 0 is C: and system reserved.
I have disabled all unessential services and went through and removed all unessential applications, and extras.  Still getting the error.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this, or further troubleshoot?

I also had this error: "Setup cannot continue. Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of Windows will be restored."
    trying to do a in-place upgrade of a Domain Controller Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2.
The problem was the separated System Reserved Partition. After I removed using this instructions:
    http://jacobackerman.blogspot.com/2012/12/how-to-remove-system-reserved-partition.html
The upgrade ran ok, and now have my DC as Windows 2012 R2.
    Hope that helps!.

  • Recovering backup data from a previous version of Rescue and Recovery

    Dear All,
can you please advice how can I restore the system&data (Windows 7)
I created recovery CDs and did the full backup (USB drive)
I changed disk (diagnostic reported warnings for the old one)
    I recovered system from CD
I wanted to recover full backup/image from USB drive, however
after reboot R&R 4 starts and error message "... backup taken with previous version..." is displayed.
I wanted to recover single file (R&R 4.31)  from USB drive, however
error message "The list box identifierwas not found"  is displayed
What shall I do? upgrade R&R to 4.51? downgrade R&R to 4 (where are downloads)? something else? what R&R versions exist for W7?
    thanks in advance.

Thank you for coming back to my issue.

  • [SOLVED] Create local repository

    Hello everyone!
First of all, I'd like to apologize for the terminology. I'm still not sure about what are the names I should use. That said, here's my problem: I want to set up a local repository to place all the packages I've ever built with makepkg. The main reason that has motivated me to do so is that, when building a package, I often need to install make dependencies, such as, for example, xorg-server-devel. That package in particular comes from xorg-server, which I have built by myself. Thus, if a package required it, I should install the correspondent package (the one I've built), and not the generic one coming from the repositories (this case may not be a good example, but, well, just think about kernel headers).
In order to set up the repository, I read Allan McRae's articles about makepkg, repo-add and package signing. I generated a key with GPG as explained here, taking the defaults, and added it to the pacman's keyring:
    gpg --export Kalrish > Kalrish.key
    pacman-key -a Kalrish.key
I also edited /etc/makepkg.conf as follows:
BUILDENV=(fakeroot !distcc color !ccache check sign)
    Note that I've enabled sign.
I decided to maintain my "local repository" (please, correct me if I'm not making use of the correct terminology) in /var/abs/local. For that purpose, I edited /etc/makepkg.conf:
    $ grep -m1 PKGDEST /etc/makepkg.conf
    PKGDEST=/var/abs/local
I then built dhcpcd (which is relatively small), just to try out. makepkg put the package file in /var/abs/local as I intended; then, I did this:
    repo-add 'local.db.tar.gz' 'dhcpcd-5.6.8-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz'
It asked me for the password to unlock my secret key. After entering it, all went well:
    ==> Adding package 'dhcpcd-5.6.8-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz'
    -> Adding package signature...
    -> Computing checksums...
    -> Creating 'desc' db entry...
    -> Creating 'depends' db entry...
==> Creating updated database file 'local.db.tar.gz'
And finally added the repo in /etc/pacman.conf (I'm only showing the relevant part of the file):
    [local]
    Server = file:///var/abs/local
I updated the package databases just fine with pacman -Syy. But, after removing the previously-downloaded packages from /var/cache/pacman/pkg, when trying to install the package:
    $ pacman -Sy dhcpcd
    :: Synchronizing package databases...
    local is up to date

So it seems that I have not added my key properly. Can anybody please help me? Any answer, even if it explained why I shouldn't be trying to do this or why I should try other alternatives, will be welcomed.
    Best regards,
    Kalrish

I was talking about make dependencies, not runtime dependencies. I always build with makepkg -sr :)
drcouzelis wrote:I hope I'm not being too critical. I just don't want you to work harder than you need to. :)
    Of course not, don't worry.

I love thought-provoking answers as well as personal opinions. Who knows when an unexpected explanation may change my mind and make me think different? You're right: it may not be worth it. But, well, you yourself pointed the "elegant" reason out:
drcouzelis wrote:I think the only benefit of creating a local repository is so you can use "pacman -S" instead of "pacman -U".
If pacman found the packages by itself, I wouldn't have to execute pacman -U --asdeps for every make dependency that is required by a package - but rather execute makepkg -sr and simply let pacman pick those packages I've built by myself from my local repository, and the rest from the official repos.
