Previous version of Oracle

I am looking for previous versions of Oracle, specifically 8i or even 7 . I need this to test an older version of PeopleSoft that require Oracle 7 or 8.
Where can I find Oracle 8i or 7?
thanks.

  • Uninstalling Previous version of Oracle Provider

Hi!, I have an Oracle NET client installed on my PC (windows 2000 professional SP3) and I'm trying to connect through OLE DB to an Oracle 8i server on another PC (Windows 2000 server) I downloaded Oracle Provider for OLE DB, but I read I have to uninstall previous versions of OLE DB providers....how can I do that? I couldn´t get any info about this.

Oracle OLE DB should be de-installed automatically when upgrading.

  • Downloading previous versions of Oracle Service Bus (other than 11.1.1.7)

Current release of Oracle Service Bus is 11.1.1.7.0.
    Which is downloaded here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/service-bus/downloads/index.html
But where do I find earlier versions?
I need to download 11.1.1.6.3 but can't find it.

I think it has been possible before to download previous versions.
For WebLogic Server it is possible to download different versions.

  • Tablespaces in previous versions

I would want to know if the extent management in tablespaces in previous versions of oracle could be managed locally, dictionary or it could be both ways as in 9i.
    Thanks and regards.

Locally managed tablespaces were available in 8.1.7.

  • How to download a previous version of an object.

    Hi,
one quick question: what is the easiest way to download a previous version of a source file in SCM? Say, for example, that I want to download v1.2 when the current (last) version is 1.4.
    Thanks in advance.

    Juan,
If you make use of the Oracle Designer Web Assistant 6i/9i (ODWA) (part of the iDevelopment Accelerator Suite), you have a far easier choice:
    - enter ODWA
    - browse to any version of the file you are interested in (using the Search, the Navigator or the Browser)
    - open the Version History Viewer for the file
    - click on the version you are interested in en start downloading
(from the ODWA Version History Viewer you can immediately download any version of the object whose version history you are viewing; hopefully this functionality will be retained once the ODWA has been incorporated into Oracle Designer 9i by the Designer development team in a few weeks time).

  • Latest Version of AIR windows 3.5.0.880 will that fix all previous version

    Hi
If i try to download latest and greatest version of AIR 3.5.0.890 -will the patch include 3.5.0.880 also
    How does this work
Is there a way to find more information on what are the bugs the latest and greatest fixes
any thoughts or guidance would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks again
    sri

    Hi Chris Campbell,
First of all, i am so happy that you took time to respond so quickly and promptly. We really appreciate the gesture.
Super news on the latest and greatest of AIR is actually 3.9.
Our question to you, Chris -if you dont mind or would be happy to talk on the phone if you have a minute
    Work project number 1 843 501 1026 and Cellphone 1 407 310 7933.
What are we trying to accomplish is :
Our customer wants to ensure if we apply the latest AIR 3.9 -will that fix anything or issues which are in earlier versions. Whether all the bugs have been updated/fixed. Like in Oracle if we release
mega patch or latest patch, it should fix the previous versions.
This is for Dept of Defense we wanted to ensure this happens correclty, we give the information appropriately from the IA perspective for security reasons.
We have lot of CVEs which is suggesting to upgrade or update the patch-will all of them get resolved or consolidated or merged if we go to AIR 3.9
    did i understand that correct.
here is my notes if you dont mind from notepad -there is no way to attach.
those lines are in excel -i am stating what is the solution so we wanted to merge or consolidate will the 3.9 resolve 3.8 or other AIR issues- thats our question. did i make sense
    Pl advise
    here are details
    thanks again

  • IMP.EXE not working in 11gR2 as it did in previous versions

I am trying to restore a database which was backed up using EXP.EXE on Oracle 10g to a new Oracle 11gR2 instance.
I was having trouble with the tablespaces at first and finally gave the user unlimited quota on the data and index tablespaces. The scripted commands used to create the user used to accomplish this, but apparently this doesn't work in 11gR2 and I had to do it one at a time through the database management web page.
Once I got past this, I still had trouble because of a reporting user granted access to the original database did not exist in my new instance. This was never a problem in earlier versions and it used to restore the database and just allow those grants to fail. I created the reporting user in my new instance and now IMP.EXE just fails after restoring the sequences and one table (of many) with no errors output to the console.
What needs to be done to get IMP.EXE to behave like it did in previous versions? Why is it failing after restoring the first table?
If it makes a difference, the OS is Win7 x64.
    Rod

Here is the output from the console. As you can see, I am using the log parameter, but the log file is empty. IMP.EXE is crashing and not writing anything to the log file. I have included the information from the application log as well. I couldn't find anything helpful there. EXPORTBKP is a user we create specifically for the backup on restore of databases through a canned script we created. I have included the statemements used to create that user after the application log entry. This user is created logged in as SYS as SYSDBA.
Typical command used to create the backup:

Command used to restore the database:

  • Get previous version of a package

    Hi,
I recreated a package mistakenly, does it exist a method to get a previous version of the package?
    Thanks, bye bye.

Do you have source control? Obviously not, otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question.
If you are lucking your database is configured for flashback query. In which case you can get at the ALL_SOURCE view at a point-in-time. [Find out more|http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=flashback+query+in+oracle].
If you're out of luck, you've got a bit of typing to do.
Next time, use source control - there's plenty of free tools out there.
    Cheers, APC

  • Getting Metadata of previous versions

    Hi ,
I have a requirement to store various versions of an XML using oracle Xml db. I also have some custom metadata which is associated to each version of the file.
We are having problems when updating the metadata.
We tried using DBMS_XDB.UPDATERESOURCEMETADATA but the metadata was not updated , only the version of the xml was incrementing.
Can some one help on the usage of "DBMS_XDB.UPDATERESOURCEMETADATA"
I would also like to know how to access the metadata of previous versions of xml.
Any information regarding these would be helpful.

probably doesn't help you anymore but might help others...?

  • Is editing a previous version possible?

I have read through the Developer Reference (9.0.1) section on Versioning but I couldn't find the answer to this question. Is it possible to edit a previous version of a public object? I understand I can have the Family ID reference a previous version. I would like to be able to go back and edit a previous version and then save this (with out creating a new version). My guess, from what I've infered, is that this isn't possible. If it isn't possible, I'm curious why not. It seems like there could be a switch to turn on or off the ability to edit previous versions. Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction to find some documentation on this? Thanks.
    -Nick

    Alexandre,
Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. Branching would be the best way to achieve what I want. Unfortunetly, iFS does not support multiple branches right now so I can not do what you suggest. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. I've seen indications in older documentation that multiple branching was supported but in the latest documentation it looks like Oracle is saying that it isn't supported. Here's a posting from Alison Stokes of Oracle:
"Author : Alison Stokes Type : N/A Date : Aug 9, 2001 20:49 PT Although Oracle iFS provides an object model flexible enough to support more advanced versioning applications, the methods required to create secondary VersionSeries in a Family are not published or supported in the current release of Oracle 9iFS.
Your feedback on the importance of supporting this capability is greatly appreciated."
Since branching is not supported I'm trying to figure out a work around. Oracle iFS does not use 'diffing'. So instead of version 2 of a document only containing the differences from version 1, in iFS, version 2 is actually a full copy. This is why I think that it should be possible to update a previous version without creating a new version (even though this isn't standard behavior).
I'll describe my problem and maybe someone can suggest a solution. At a certain point in time we have the need to cut a realease (v1) of a document and then start working on a new release (v2). The old release must be frozen so we can go back to it and 'print' out additional copies. To freeze the old release, my idea was to just change the pointer to the physical object id of the document rather than pointing to the family id. Work on the next release would continue on in subsequent versions. The problem arises when someone finds a typo or some problem in the frozen v1 release. We need a way to be able to go back and edit this old release. I've over simplified our situation. A frozen release is not just made up of 1 public object. It could contain 100 objects, with references to each other (we are using iFS together with Epic XML editor and a iFS adapter). The only thing I can think to do is to physically copy the 100 objects making up the document so that we would now have 100 new family objects. This seems wasteful since we may only need to edit one or two of these 100 objects.
    Thanks for any help.
    -Nick
    Nick,
AFAIK, there is no possibility to update public object without creating a new version. If you need it, than it's wrong design, or it is not versioning, strictly speaking.
I would consider another approach: branching. You can have version 1, than version 2 and so on. Instead of changing version 1 later, you may use vesion one as a base document and create versions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3....

    Alexandre

  • Help with registering multiple XML versions with Oracle 9i

    Hello,
I have a fundamental question. Probably someone had been in similar situation and thought of the best way to handle.
Our product has about 15 versions that we need to support.
Each version publishes its 'xmlschema' and is slightly different from the previous version.
Now if I register each schema version with oracle9i it will auto-create tables for each version (even for xml elements/attributes that are same across different versions).
2 options that we thought of so far to handle this is
-Combine all 15 versions schema's into 1 super-set schema and register with oracle db. Fields/elements, a version does not use will be empty
-Use XML 'extensions' in various xml schema, such that each version in 'extended' from the previous one and keeps on adding its additions attributes/elements. My question is then if I register these 15 'extended' schemas with oracle, will it create common DB tables per version or it will still create unique tables for all 15 versions.
Anyone has any better suggestions or comments to handle this situation ?
    thanx
    -Manu

But I'm still stuck on the problem. It still doesn't read the second object. There is no second object.
    The code is quite big, any specific portion would be helpful, please let me know?This is a minimal load and print for an XML bean:import java.io.*;

  • Firefox update 10 won't open and the previous version 3.6 won't load any pages. I have done everything this site said to do. HELP?

The last version of Firefox that I had was the one before 3.6. I stopped upgrading due to it always messing up and not working right for me... whether it be due to vista, or just errors on your part. My husband decided to upgrade firefox to the newest one two days ago because the version I had was just "too slow!" Ever since he did that, I cannot get firefox to open. No matter how many times I uninstall it and delete everything mozilla on my computer then reinstall after restarting my computer, it just refuses to open. Every time i try it says that firefox has stopped working. It cant even check for solutions. I then try to click on the icon and I get something that says: firefox.exe - Bad Image C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\MSVCP80.dll is either not designed to run n windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
I have tried installing it over and over again several times, same message shows up. So i had clicked on the link to go download the previous version of firefox... what sucks is that the only version on the site is 3.6.27. I have never upgraded to this. So the second i installed that version, i now am able to open up firefox... BUT it is unable to connect. I have internet... a pretty bad ass connection. So my internet is not the problem. I then looked up how to fix that issue and did all 5 things listed under the Firefox cant load pages but other browsers can link. Still nada! I am now stuck using IE and going insane. I am on the verge of throwing my laptop out of the damn window because I have to wait 3 hours for google to load. Nothing is working for me... and it would be appreciated for something more. If i can get help with a ton of details on what to do or how to fix this issue... either version... i would greatly appreciate it. I am going nuts having to put up with IE because my husband decided to update Firefox to a version that sucks with vista!

Here is the system requirements page: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older has the latest 3.6.x version, and http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/ is another option.

    Hi again Bob,
I believe I've found the feature you were speaking about now. Information on the "In the Store" feature of iTunes can be found here:
Apple - iTunes - Inside iTunes - Using In the Store from within your iTunes Library.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!
