I removed the Beta Version of CS6 Photoshop Extended from My MacBook Pro. When I try to install my copy pof CS6 Photoshop Extended I get the error previso verison of Cs6 Photoshop is installed please remove before proceeding. I have even attempted to install it from the we with the same results. How do install my copy of CS6 Photoshop?

According to Wikipedia, 4 years ago you would most likely have bought Photoshop CS5.
You can download Photoshop CS5 from Adobe. Start here:

You'll need your serial number to activate it. If you don't have that, you can likely find it on Adobe's main web site after you've logged-in with your Adobe ID. See the Find your serial number quickly link to pursue that.

I've tried to download previous versions but don't know how have followed the steps that adobe has given but my creative cloud doesn't come up with install but try and when i press it, it downloads and i just wanted to fins previous versions of photoshop such as cs6 and trial it thanks.

You can access previous CC versions of Photoshop from the CC Desktop.
First under "Find New Software", select "Previous versions"
Then under Photoshop, click the arrow on the Install button to see and install Previous Photoshop versions.

If this is on the same computer just install PSE 12. It should find your old catalog and upgrade it to PSE 12. If for some reason it doesn't, then go to file>manage catalogs, find your old catalog and tell PSE 12 to convert it.
If this is a new computer, then yes, full backup and restore.

iTunes only keeps one normal backup per iOS device. As you've found out, its an incremental backup in that only data that has changed is actually backed up or overwritten. You can view available backups under iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Any backups listed that are time/date stamped are backups from restore points. These backups are not overwritten. Do you maintain a backup of your computer data? If so, you might be able to retrieve a prior iPhone backup from your computer backup.

CS4 Upgrade and Previous Versions of Photoshop

As a long-time Photoshop user, I have upgraded my versions of Photoshop over the years and currently have the CS4 Photoshop Upgrade loaded on my computer. I have an older computer with limited hard drive space and am running out of room. Is it necessary to keep all the previous versions of Photoshop on my computer's hard drive in order for the already-loaded on my computer CS4 Photoshop Upgrade to run? In other words, can I remove the earlier versions (like Photoshop 4, Photoshop 6 Upgrade, Photoshop 7 Upgrade, and CS2 Photoshop Upgrade) and still have CS4 Photoshop Upgrade run ok? I'm trying to clean up hard drive space and would like to make space by deleting the previous versions, but I don't want to mess up my CS4 Photoshop Upgrade if that program somehow ties into components from the previous upgrades.

In addition to that, I also have on it Photoshop 4.0, Photoshop 5.5, Photoshop 6.0 Upgrade version, Photoshop 7.0 Upgrade version, and CS2 Photoshop Upgrade. What I need to know is can I remove the earlier versions of Photoshop or will it negatively affect the operation of CS4 Photoshop Upgrade (since it's not the full version and only an upgrade of the upgrades installed earlier)? (The only full version of Photoshop I have is Photoshop 4.0 -- everything after that was upgrade versions.)

Firefox will not install. I keep getting a message that I have to restart my computer in order for updates to a previous version can be installed.

this one is actually a really rare symptom of a flaky connection to the ipod on a Windows PC. there's more going on in terms of hardware on nanos and 5th gens than in the earlier models ... so if the connection is flaky to precisely the right/wrong degree, itunes will see the ipod, but misidentify it as an earlier version of ipod.
tracking down the cause of the flakiness can be tricky ... as you already know ...
just checking. have you tried connecting with a different (known-good) USB cable? does that seem to have any impact on the rate of occurence of the problem?

The title implies "importing photos & videos from previous versions" and only deals with "Organizer". It does not mention if regular "JPG" or other formats need to change. It does not discuss if images have been moved from one location to another folder or directory. It does not discuss any issues of previous versions or backward compatability of formats.

Starting with Photoshop Elements 8 I always upgraded the software to now PE 11 (following the instructions, I never disinstalled the previous versions). When running, the program (both, organizer and editor) is incredibely slow. Looking at the computer task manager, I notice that all previous versions of Photoshop Elements are still running (starting from the version 8) - in fact, i never disinstalled them. Question 1: is it normal? how can I prevent this? Question 2: if I now disinstall the versions 8-10, do I lose any data from version 11? (e.g. catalog) Thanks.

My guess is that what you are seeing in the task manager is the downloader for all versions. That should not explain any slowing down. Try going into the previous versions and disabling the automatic start of the downloader. Only the most recent downloader task should remain.
Two reasons may explain the sluggishness : try disabling all autoanalyzing features in the Organizer - and using the 'optimize' option in the catalog manager. That may require some time, be patient.

So the automatic update for Photoshop to CC 2014 disables my plug-ins as they're not compliant with Adobe's changes. OK, fine, though some notice would have been appreciated. Where can I download from the cloud and reinstall the previous version of Photoshop while developers scramble to get their plug ins compliant with the new version?

Did you deinstall Photoshop CC 14.x? The upgrade process doesn't do that - it should still be available to you.

I have a laptop with 8 gigs of RAM, Windows 7, i3 Intel processor, but Photoshop is very slow in responding and often I have to wait three minutes from the time I click the text entry tool until I can type, then each additional step, tool selection, whatever freezes Photoshop for several minutes. This is unacceptable, of course. Other software works normally.
I recently bought a new laptop with an i7 Intel processor, 12 gigs of RAM, and a GeForce graphics processor and the problem is even worse! CS6 locks up so long and so often I usually just load the Task Manager and end the process!
I have lots of fonts but doubt they could cause a problem this severe. Since the new laptop has a high definition screen, I need my font preview size to be at the largest size to see them clearly.
Now, I have 32 and 64 bit versions of CS6, CS5, and Photoshop Elements 10 and 12 installed. I don't use them at the same time, but I'm beginning to wonder whether they might cause some performance problems. (Photoshop installed both versions when I set up this computer in January, both CS5 & CS6. I downloaded CS5 because I was afraid that if CS6 got problematic, I could switch to CS5 and use that instead but the problem is terrible.) If the 64 bit version is giving me too much trouble, I'll switch to the 32 in hopes it will work better. But especially in the new computer, Photoshop never works well.
I bought the new laptop with the extra RAM and heavier duty processor to solve this problem in my old computer, which also has those versions of Photoshop installed. I don't use large files and do light graphic design work for my own use. The most resources intense thing I do is use smart object product mockups I buy online. I did transfer all my fonts from the Windows 7 computer to the new Windows 8 laptop. I use different external HDs on the computers but I do occasionally connect any of them to the other computer to transfer large sets of files.
No, Photoshop is on Drive C, the main internal drive on each.
Last night I turned off font file previews in the font menu. I got much better performance. Photoshop worked much better, other than when I made a block of text and wanted to click on it and move it. It froze up for about thirty seconds before letting me do that.
If this is a font management problem, should I get font management software? I don't know anything about such software. Do they allow you to load only the fonts you want to use, on the fly? I see one, Fusion 6, which has a CS6 plug-in, leading me to think I might be able to preview and use fonts without the drain on Photoshop's performance.
Do you have any opinions or advice in that regard?

I have opened the CC PS CS6 and used the oil paint filter on a photo - no problem. I then opened the new CC Photoshop 2014 and edited a photo - no problem. When I downloaded the CS6 it did give me an additional CS6 Bridge. So far so good, but I will post if I encounter problems.

I have all Photoshop versions of Photoshop from v.5.0.x through Photoshop 13.0.6 on my Macs.
I find myself working in CS4 for most of my Photoshop editing, using CS6 13.0.6 only for the ACR to PSD conversion and whatever editing can be done in ACR. Both versions run simultaneously on my desktop Mac Pro all the time.
By all means do download the trial version. I've been able to discard a whole bunch of upgrades that way in Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat, as well as avoid buying Lightroom and all other Adobe applications.
Adobe's trial versions are a wonderful feature and a much appreciated, rare courtesy by Adobe.

It's not recommended nor is it not recomemnded. It's entirely your own decision. As Curt said, there are certain side effects, in addition to file associations also shared components possibly breaking down (PDF libraries), so if it's not that critical, leave them in place. otehrwise you may have to reinstall CS6 after you have removed the other versions.
