Previous Version of Yahoo Messenger (before 2.5)

Hi,  can anyone tell me where to download the previous version of yaho messenger?  I have several issue with the latest yahoo messenger (2.5.32 and all other 2.5 version) on my 8820.  I keep got disconnected and when I reconnect, the conversation group is empty.

See [[installing a previous version of Firefox]].
Possibly at some stage Yahoo will release an update to the toolbar so it works with Firefox again.
Update <br>Note Yahoo toolbar is being made compatible with Firefox 5, and it was hoped to have been done by 21st June. ([/forums/contributors/707024?last=40411#post-40357 see] ) Yahoo toolbar is therefore likely to become compatible very soon, if not already.

As my harddrive crashed I have had to install windows 7 and this version doesn't seem to allow me to change my homepage, why is this? Cheers Ernest

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • Do I need to uninstall previous version of Logic Pro before I install Logic Pro X?

    Basically what it says above!?

You don't need to delete the previous Logic Pro version before installing Logic Pro X. Logic Pro X is a new version and won't replace the old Logic Pro version, so if you like Logic Pro X and that's what you need after testing it, remove the old Logic Pro

    mwahhhh.....

I just tested Messenger for Mac, which I just downloaded because of your question. I had no problem getting my recently bought Macbook laptop with Leopard to engage and send a webcam picture to a Yahoo messenger account using Windows XP yahoo messenger on the other account's computer. I did not test all the features, just typing an IM and sending a webcam picture from my built in laptop webcam on this Macbook over to a computer with Windows XP. All I had to do after installing and logging in was go to WEBCAM / Start Broadcast etc. It worked fine.
I used the Mac Leopard OS on the Macbook and do not yet have windows added to my macbook but am thinking about how to get it because of the need to occasionally use Internet Explorer on certain websites.

  • Why no Ipad versions of Skype or Yahoo messenger yet?

I am really surprised that native iPad versions of skype and yahoo messenger haven't come out yet. I'm beginning to think that it has something to do with ATT? It just doesn't make sense that those companies would not release versions by now.
The iPhone versions suck on the iPad. Plus the iPhone version of yahoo messenger doesn't even come with voice in or out. I use yahoo voice to make calls on my iMac all the time. Kinda blows I can't do so on my iPad yet.
What gives? Anyone know? Why the delay?
    Thanks

This is really a user to user forum for Apple products. I don't think anyone here is an expert on non-Apple apps. Furthermore, if you need to complain, why aren't you doing it at forums focused on the two products you're discussing.
That being said, Skype's app does work on the iPad, though not well. It doesn't work over 3G (or at least not well). And it can't work in the background, because iOS 4 is not available for the iPad.
The iPad makes a pretty bad iPhone, to be honest. It's huge. And when you're using Skype, you can't do anything else. Reading several comments by Skype from way back in April, it appears that they are not working on an iPad version at this time. Who knows what they're doing when iOS 4 shows up.
But you really need to take your complaints to Yahoo and Skype.

  • Yahoo messenger not working on messages in Yosemite

As of today, I can no longer get Messages to sign in to my Yahoo Messenger account. It was working earlier today, but since about 10 AM EDT, after selecting "Available" from the "Offline" status for Yahoo, it says "Connecting" for a while, then changes to "Disconnected."
I have seen this behavior before, in recent months, but it was only intermittent and would usually reconnect on a retry. Now it won't connect at all.
I downloaded the latest Windows version of Yahoo Messenger into a VMWare VM on this Mac just to verify that my account is still working, and was able to sign in from there just fine. But it's more convenient to have all messaging in one place.
Is anyone else seeing this? Any idea what's wrong or how to fix it?
I'm on a MacBook Pro (late 2013 Retina 15-inch) on Yosemite 10.10.2 with all updates applied.

Oh but guess what - it just started working again! Must have been something else outside my control that was broken out on the Interwebs...

  • Problem with Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry 10

    Hi Blackberry Team,
I've recently encountered a problem with Yahoo Messenger 10.1.0.88 on my Blackberry Q10 running OS 10.1.0.4181 software. It had been working fine for like a month after I purchased this phone from the authorized shop in Thailand until a few days ago it started showing the message within seconds after signed-in: 'Your connectino to the instant messaging provider has been lost. You can wait for the connection to be re-established or close the application and try logging in later'.
This is only when I'm on 3G cellular network. It works fine through Wi-Fi connection.
I did some research on website and found that the latest version of Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry is actually 10.1.1.16 released on Sep 30th, 2013 but, for some unknown reasons, my Blackberry World only shows the '10.1.0.88' (which already installed on my phone) as the latest version.
I really need this for work as I'm communicating with international bankers over yahoo. Please help look into this problem and get it fixed at your earliest possible. Thank you.

I have the same problem with my z10 always unknown error it getting me crazy

  • New iPod wants me to uninstall previous version.  Will I lose my music?

I lost my 2 G nano, just got a 30 G to replace it. My library on my computer is full of good stuff, subscriptions to podcasts, etc. When I try to install the software from the disk that came with my new unit, it tells me to uninstall the previous version of the software before I can load the software for the new unit. Is there a chance that my library, etc will be erased when I uninstall the old software?
Any help would be appreciated. Please also reply to [email protected]

    Hello
There is not a such 100% sure in this world, so I suggest that you have all the back up for your music files, if you do not want to run any risk before upgrade.
It may have a chance that some unexpected thing happen during the upgrade such as power being cut off, the iPod cable get accidently plug off etc.
Normally, the update of iTunes and iPod updater to the latest version, would not erase your music files, unless you do the Restore on iPod updater for your iPod. The software will give you the warning !!

  • Where can I find an older version of BB Messenger

I looked around here to see if I could find this answer, so apologies if I missed it, but my wife and I would like to go back to the previous version of BB Messenger V5 is not ready for primetime, clearly based on many posts here and on other sites.
Why? Many of the reasons are enumerated by others here but beyond features that have been taken away,  her Pearl has locked up regularly since installing it. If we delete BB Messenger it runs like a champ. Reinstall, it locks up and runs slowly. We both have problems where someone will send a message and it will buzz and show the icon on the home screen but the message won't be in the conversation. Exiting out and coming back in a series of times will usually show the message. So we would both like to go back to where Messenger was usable again please. For now it's back to SMS or PIN messages.
BTW, I see now where this landed in the Desktop software, not in the device software section. My aplogies. if I could delete it I would, but the question is still relevant and I'm guessing the only way to install the old version is thru the desktop software at this point anyway so it's semi-related.
    Anyone?

    Exaclty as you said...
First delete the new BBM v5 from yoru device at Options > Advanced > Applications.
Make sure your devcie OS is installed to the PC, then run Desktop Manager > App Loader and install the old one.

  • How do I Get Yahoo Messenger back?

A couple of months ago it seems I inadvertently/accidentally removed my Yahoo Messenger while trying to upgrade to a newer version. It's not even in my dock anymore. I'm not tech savvy at all, so I have no ideal what I did.
On the Yahoo page the Yahoo "Messenger" button still responds when I click it as far as showing me which one of my friends is on line, but if I click on one of their names, attempt to launch Messenger, OR, try to download any version of Yahoo Messenger, even the Beta version, nothing comes of it, with the exception of having a drop down window on this Yahoo page stating the following:
    Alert:
    +Firefox doesn't know how to open this+
    +address, because the protocol (ymsgr)+
    +isn't associated with any program.+
... I thought it was just on my Mac here at home, but when I tried to launch Messenger on my friend's PC laptop, the same response from my Yahoo page ensued. What's going on? Can anyone help?

Yahoo Messenger is not part of OS X. You can download it from Yahoo or VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Where can we suggest new features for Yahoo Messenger and other RIM IM clients?

I just downloaded the new version of Yahoo Messenger and I like the user interface. But every time a new version comes out, this application creates a less-complete history of contact behavior. Several versions ago, the contact's status showed up in the open conversation, along with the time stamp of when the status changed. This included Idle and Custom Status changes. That disappeared. In the last version, you could see the time the contact signed in or out last, and sometimes both. Now they're gone as soon as you close the conversation.
The whole idea of having Yahoo up on the BlackBerry all the time is that you don't have to be staring at the screen all the time, that you should be able to take it out of your pocket and check out those events that occurred that didn't set off alarms. I'd like the whole contact history to be right there, for as long as I want to keep it active. How can I make this suggestion to RIM for the next version of Yahoo Messenger? Thanks.

  • Yahoo messenger for older iBook?

    Can someone help me here???
I want a version of Yahoo Messenger that will run on this iBook. I don't have Classic installed, so I'm not sure if Y Messenger 2.5.3 will work.
Beta 1 will not work, as it needs 10.3.9, which I don't have.
I tried emailing Yahoo, but they were of no real help.
    Thanks!

You can download the 10.3.9 update:

  • Removing all previous versions of IronPort

I have been tasked with automating the install of IronPort . It has come to my attention that many different versions of IronPort are already installed (going back to version1.x). Can anyone confirm if the current 7.x installer will recognize those very early versions and uninstall them, or failing that, if there is any kind of removal tool that will?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,
the answer can be found in the release notes for the plugin:
To install the Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-in, you need to uninstall any previous versions of Cisco IronPort Email security plug-ins that you may have installed. This includes:
    •    Any previous version of the Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-in •    Any previous version of the Reporting Plug-in (also called the Complaint
    Plug-in)
    •    Any previous version of the Encryption Plug-ins (Desktop Encyrpt or Desktop Flag)
BTW, last version before the current Cisco Plugin (version 7.x), was 1.8, this big jump in versioning is caused because we combined a number of different appliacation (spam, encryption) into a single plugin. Also it was always nessesary to remove the previous version of a plugin before installing a new one, so this is why you'd only find one installed instance on an user's PC.
    Hope that helps,
    Andreas
