Previously Downloaded Music- Lost

Hi there.
I have had a new PC for a while now, but on the other PC that died, I had a few songs that I had purchased and downloaded onto iTunes. I have bought songs since on iTunes and it is all fine, but the songs that I had purchased and downloaded onto the old pc that has now died, are lost and I can't find out how I can re-download them!
Help would really be appreciated

are the purchased songs that u lost still on your ipod? if so, then u might want to do this:
1) open up iTunes*
2) plug in your iPod*
3) go to File > Transfer Purchases from "(name of iPod)"
this takes all the songs that u bought in iTunes that are on your iPod and adds them to the iTunes library
hope this helps!!!

I have downloaded music in Apple in the past, then forgot my sign-in information, so created different accounts over the years.  I am now using Apple much more, but would like to find the previously downloaded music. How can I find these previous accounts I had with Apple?

  • When I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, my previously downloaded music in iTunes library disappeared on my computer?  There was no warning of this happening.  What do I do?

Ok, so I downloaded the newest version of iTunes on my home PC, and the previously downloaded music in my iTunes library disappeared on my computer.  What happened?  I can sync my iPod but I am not sure how long ago I synced it so I may be missing some music downloads.  Why did this happen, and more importantly, why didn't iTunes warn me it could happen and advise me to sync with another device before the download?  I am not very happy about this and it's a huge issue for iTunes if this is happening.  It makes me very wary of iTunes.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps then you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • I have lost previously downloaded music during back-up.

I am trying to find music that I have lost during previous back-ups with older versions of iTunes, I had backed up my library to my external hard drive. I know where they are and am unable to get my music back. I have tried opening them. I have tried dragging and dropping them into my iTunes. I have tried double clicking, but have had no results. Any suggestions? Is my music lost forever?
I tried updateing my current iTunes to the latest version and it is running into install errors also. So...that was a bust as well. :'(

You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.  Use this to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy (not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

  • My itunes library says it cannot locate previously downloaded music

I'm preparing to copy my itunes library to an old ipod then to my new pc, and when checking several of my previously downloaded cd's, Itunes says it can no longer locate the files.  When you click to locate, it cannot find those.  I'm at 27+ cd's now and I've not checked everything.  It's changing on a daily basis and continues to loose more music.

  • Computer stolen and all downloaded music lost

Hi, I am trying to find a way to regrant a download of music I have purchased through itunes over the last three or four years. We had our computer stolen and all the downloads. While we have the music on our ipod and old iphone (bought a new one this week) I cannot download music from them to our new computer or new phone. I would really like to have the music I purchased back in our itunes. I have called apple and they said to go to the chat support. So here I am....I think I am in the right place.
    thanks so much

Have you looked at these instructions? iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Failing this, if you click on this link it'll take you to the support/contact page, from there click on Music Purchases then the Lost or Missing Items option. From there click on "Email Us" and explain your problem: Customer Service - iTunes Store Support

  • Error transferring previously downloaded music to ...

    Hi all
I have an X6-00 32GB and following the upgrade to Ovi Unlimited from ComeWithMusic I have tried to transfer all the songs I have downloaded to my phone. (For info, I have only ever registered one phone and one PC). Anything I downloaded under ComesWithMusic cannot be transferred, but anything new downloaded from OvI Unlimited transfers fine.
Does anyone know a solution to this, I know I could redownload the music, but that will take a long time and not everything is still available.
    Thanks in advance
    Gary

I have a Nokia N97 mini & I previously had an N81. I have the same problem as you. However I have come to the conclusion that I did not keep my username and password the same and therefore cannot access my previous downloads. I tried the option of deleting a track and re-downloading but this does not work because I cannot view my previosuly downloaded tracks as my Ovi login has superceded my Nokia Music login when I was asked to merge the 2 subscriptions. This is really annoying as I love to have my tracks on 1 device. Is there a way that nokia can create patch for this problem as there are many customers that have this problem and have already paid for their tracks. • How to download selected previously downloaded (and lost) mail - Mavericks?

Due to manual mail filtering under Mavericks deleting some mails when attempting a "copy & delete", I want to re-download selected previously downloaded POP mail.  How can I do that?
The "copy & delete" was tried as manual "move" copies and does not move mail when using filters.
    Thank you!

  • Having got windows 8 and another computer I now cannot play previous download music

Having downloaded music in the past, I now find I cannot access it since I upgraded my computer.
I get a message telling my computer is not recognised.

Authorize the computer.  Store > Authorize Computer
Also, you are aware that simply installing iTunes does not cause media to magically appear on the computer, correct?

  • It appears I have lost all previously downloaded music including songs I ripped from my own cds..can I get them back? I thought they were saved in the cloud but I cannot find them

I had previously had years worth of Christmas music in my iTunes. When not the holiday season I obviously deslect it so that it does not play. I thought it was all backed up to the cloud, but now upon trying to recover it and resync it to my phone for travelling, I cannot find it anywhere. Is my music gone for good?

Why did you think it was in icloud?
You can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries, but this does not apply to music not purchased via itunes.

  • Resyncing Previously Downloaded Music to Ipod Touch?

I have a lot of music downloaded that I removed from my library a long time ago and I redownloaded it and am trying to sync it to my Ipod Touch 4th generation, but it doesn't sync?

Update: The 12 songs were under a different account so that might be the problem.
Edit: The other purchased music mentioned in the previous post were songs from Amazon and not iTunes.
I just purchased a few songs from Amazon and didn't have any problem syncing those.
The free apps that I downloaded from iTunes synced and work just fine. I just bought my first song with my current iTunes account and the exact same thing is happening. The song shows up on the iPod but there's no sound. What am I doing wrong?

  • I somehow deleted all of my previously downloaded music from my mac once I synced my iphone

    Hey,
I have no idea what happened but when I synced my iPhone 4 (don't judge I am upgrading soon) to my Mac, it deleted all of my music EXCEPT for about 100 or so songs that I had downloaded via my iphone. Now when I go to my library for my Apple ID, all I see are the 100+ songs and all of my previous songs are gone (over 2000) :/ The backup I have is apparently corrupted so I fear that I am hosed.
Any idea why my Apple ID is now only associated with songs I have purchased on my phone? Shouldn't all of my downloads, throughout the history of time be available? Any help would be super duper, otherwise I guess I just have to start rebuilding my library..... <sigh>.....#firstworldproblems
    Thanks!

Huh? I am not sure what that means unfortunatly...
