I have the problem with previously good songs becoming corrupted when I upgraded to Itunes V7. I have the same songs on 3 computers and all were corrupted when I updated the software. This is clearly an Itunes bug and not a driver issue as the same exact songs were effected on three very different machines once each was updated.

Word document became corrupt when attempting to append...

I'm going crazy here. I'm using RoboHelp 4.1 and I am having
an issue with trying to create printed documentation. I was
receiving the error message, 'The Word document became corrupt when
attempting to append a malformed topic.' Then it would say failed
to update 'topic name'. So in trying to fix it I deleted the entire
folder which contained the file where it blew up, and tried
recompiling it. It went past the point where I had removed the
folder and blew up on a topic in the next folder and gave the same
error...so I deleted that folder also. Now it will make it entirely
through the printed documentation process....but at the end of
compiling it, it tells me Failed to Update images....but at least
now it will give me a finished document (it just has a bunch of
dead linked images). Is this an issue that would be cured with an
upgrade to X5 or is this something else that I have not thought of
yet? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The first thing I suggest is a search of the forums on the
word "malformed" - you are not alone! Seems like the problem can
have multiple causes: one bad topic, a bad style in the CSS, not
enough RAM, some kind of weird invisible running corruption...
The solutions offered seem to fall into general categories -
1) generate with half the topics, then a quarter, etc. to narrow
down and kill the bad topic, 2) change all styles to Normal and see
if printdoc generates correctly, 3) take a copy of the project and
restore it from .hhp (see
Peter Grainge's website for
help), 4) start over.
I'm afraid they all have one thing in common - trial and
error. You're just going to have to slog through this.
BTW, this happens in X5 - I don't think an upgrade will be a
quick solution for you.

Save your L8 Songs as ' PROJECTS with ALL ASSETS ' (See L8 Manual for details...)
Open them in L9 and again Save them as ' PROJECTS with ALL ASSETS ' (See L9 Manual for details...)
And Give them a New Name...
Now you will have Projects that can be Opened by Both L8 and L9...

WS-X6816-GBIC became PwrDown when IOS upgrade to 12.2(18)SXD7

When IOS upgraded from 12.1(13)E8 to 12.2(18)SXD7, one of WS-X6816-GBIC module (in slot5) become PwrDown in show module output but another one (in slot 4) is ok. The only difference I can find is DFC hardware version. Is there any limitation about this ?

Watch the logs as it boots up , my guess there is a problem with the board . We had a brand new card for a 6500 with a problem and the box will power it off if it see's a problem. Ended up RMA'ing the card . Does it show anything when you do a "show diagnostic result all" command ?

Songs are scratchy when i upgraded to 7.0...

i upgraded to 7.0 and it automatically put every music file i have onto itunes (from windows media etc). Now, many, i don't know if all, my songs are scratchy and skip (1-3 secs). is it something with 7.0, my computer or what?

Pop up your task manager and look at CPU usage. iTunes 7 pegs the CPU at 100% doing just about anything. I had to downgrade back to verson 6.05 to make it usable again.
I'm waiting for an update to 7.0. Save yourself a lot of frustration and do the same.
7.0 runs great under MacOSX, so it seems to be poor XP coding to blame.

How do I recover photos that corrupted when I upgraded to iphoto 11?

I just installed iphoto 11 on my macbook and stupidly didn't back up my library, When the library was rebuilt, 40 photos have corrupted - weirdly, all the corrupted photos are black and white, landscape - and any photos in the sequence that are portrait are just fine. i can still see the photos as thumbnails, but can't open them.
I have tried 3 things:
Clearing iphoto preferences and cache (didn't work)
Repairing the library (it gets stuck every time at 74% and then I have to force quit)
Downloading iphoto library manager and rebuilding the library (it entirely deletes the corrupted images)
E-mailing myself the images (not sure where I was going with this one, but it wouldn't let me e-mail them anyway!)
Missing photos are the first photos of our newborn baby so pretty anxious to get them back... anyone got any bright ideas?

Without a backup you are probablhy out of luck - remember that withou a backup you are guarenteed to lose your files including your photos sooner or later - things happen and a backup is the only protection you have against hardware, software and human failure
It may be because the photos were B/W - unless they had a RGB color profile then that is the most likely cause - iPhoto does not work with other color profiles including grey scale - what was the source of these photos?

'iPhone previously synced with computer' error when I connect to itunes

I have a v1 iphone and yesterday morning upgraded to 2.01. That seemed to go just fine and I used it all day.
Last night the batter ran out and upon plugging it into the charger it seems as if the phone has been de-activated. I then connected to iTunes and received the message saying "An iPHone has been previously synched with this computer" and I chose to restore from my backup which seemed to work fine. I could use the phone no problem.
This morning I connected it to iTunes to move some music over and it gave me same "An iPhone has been previously..." message as before. So I'm restoring again, but I'm wondering what is up and if anyone else is experiencing similar issues

I also have been experiencing this issue since yesterday when I tried to upgrade to 2.0.1
Half way through installing the firmware update, my phone went nuts and kept disconnecting and reconnecting (hardware growler notifications) before throwing up an error (which I unhelpfully cannot recall now, but which I think was of the 0x800 'unknown error' variety). I cancelled the procedure and ejected the phone, before physically disconnecting it. Upon reconnecting, I was greeted with the same message as the original poster.
I went through the backup restore procedure successfully, but now every time I reconnect the phone to my computer it comes up with the same screen:
*An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer.*
*1. Set up as a new iPhone.*
*2. Restore from backup.*
I've been through the backup option at least three times now (takes an age) and each time I reconnect the phone I get the same message. I've rebooted my Mac, rebooted the iPhone, all to no avail. I'm very hesitant to try option 1 above, which I feel may solve the issue but I'll lose all the phone data in the process. I'm aware I could write it all down and re-input it, and some things, like my contacts, can just be re-synced from my Mac address book, but there's plenty of other stuff on there that is unique to the phone that I would not be able to get back on it easily.
If anyone has any insight on this matter it would be gratefully appreciated...
For the record I'm running an aluminium 20" iMac, Leopard 10.5.4 with an iPhone 3G.

Songs won't authorize after upgrade to itunes 9

So, I recently upgraded my os, and then got an iphone and upgraded itunes to 9. I go to play the the album I purchased on before the upgrade, and the computer gives me a message that the computer is not authorized to play it. I haven't put it on more than 5 computers, as this is the only computer or device I had it on. I didn't have an ipod for music playing prior to this, so I didn't download a lot. Now I do.
Anyway, so I went to authorize the computer, and it tells me it already is. Even deauth'd then reauth'd, still won't work.

Strange this is that all music was purchased by the same account name.
Some purchased songs play, two don't.
When I try resetting the password via the web it says that this apple id is unknown!
And that while I have the itunes confirmationemail when I created the account!!
I am disgusted that apple doesn't seem to react to this problem.

I'm getting ready to purchase iPod Touch 2.0 software update. It requires iTunes 7.7 (and I'm running 7.6). I download 7.7.043 and when I install, it gives the message "Cabinet AppleMobileDeviceHelper.cab may be corrupt" so I cancel the install. I am running Windows XP, not Vista. I've had problems in the past with versions of iTunes and that is a big warning to me since I read on here that there have been a lot of problems with that particular file on Vista machines over the past few weeks. I guess Apple won't get my money for the purchase of the software upgrade until I can run a clean install of the new iTunes!

Talk about chasing your tail. I can not delete the program no matter what I try. I was warned by a fella at the apple store that if you do get itunes up and running do not sync the ipod to the program like you normally do. You will lose everything. There is a faeture that will help you up load to itunes from you ipod. Be carefull.

I borrowed a hard drive from a friend that contains many thousands of songs. Somehow when tranferring these to iTunes I managed to get several copies of each song. How can i do a bulk delete of all the copies leaving just one version of each song?

When i upgraded to itunes 10.4 the install freezes during intallation

This first happened when i was prompted to upgrade to the newest version of itunes, when following the promts on screen the install of itunes freezes.There is no error code or warning comes up on my screen, it just freezes during the installation. it happenes after quicktime has been installed. i tried removing all itunes and associated programs and downloaded the latest version and tried installing again but it freezes every time.
