Previously ringtone-able songs in library no longer ringtone-able?

I have hundreds of songs purchased from the iTunes store. When ringtones were released, more and more of my Purchased music showed up as ringtone-able in my library (showing the bell icon). At one point, over 250 songs in my library (Purchased music playlist) showed the bell icon, and I made ringtones from selected songs with no problems whatsoever. But in the past few days, only a handful of songs (20, to be exact) in my Purchased music playlist show the bell icon - hundreds less than previously. When I right-click on a song that was ringtone-able a short while ago and select "Create Ringtone" I get an error that says that song "can no longer be made into a ringtone". What is going on?

Anyone? No ideas?

  • How can i set a song from my music library to a ringtone for my iphone 4s

how can i set a song from my music library to a ringtone for my iphone 4s?

    The procedure is the following:-
*right click the song on itunes and click get info.
*under the option, check in the start time and end time- This is the exactly which part of the song you want to make your ringtone.
    *Click Ok.
    * Again right click in the same song and click the CREATE AAC VERSION
    * Now you can see the same two song. if you have made the short length in step 2, lenght will be different.and this will be in (.m4a) format. and if you dont see on itunes you can search the name on finder. you will find both files.
    * Now you try to change the format (.m4a)  to (.m4r), you just delete a and add r and press enter bottom. and conform it.
*Now you add this files to the ringtone/tones on itunes which is located on the left side bar of itunes.
*make sure under the preference of your itunes under the general the tones section is checked in.
*go to your device on itunes. Under the tones check in sync tones. You can Sync all tones or the particular tones which you want.
*Now this tone is on your iphone. You can change your ringtone through setting>sound>ringtone and choose the particular one.

  • Is it possible to set a song in my itunes library as a ringtone straight from my phone, without having to use my computer?

Is it possible to set a song in my itunes library as a ringtone straight from my phone, without having to use my computer?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to make the Workflow Tasks work out with a pre-determined due date that it's 2 days from today in your client list workflow.
I recommend that you can create this client list workflow as below in your environment.
Then, you can go to “Start Options” to check “Start workflow automatically when an item is created”, publish this workflow and test if it works.
When an new item is added in the client list, its corresponding Workflow Task is shown as below:

This is not particularly helpful. I've looked on 3 websites and none of them match my configuration of iTunes. I've gotten as far as creating an AAC file and that is it. Can't find the .m4s designation to change it.

Use the Deauthorize All command documented in this article, or if it isn't an option, the 'contact iTunes Store support' link at the bottom of it.

itunes is telling me i already purchased a song but it is not in my library. Where do all your purchases go?
Purchases go in your library. They'll be listed in the main section for each type of content, and normally also in the Purchased playlist. Was the song ever in your library, or have you been totally unsuccessful in getting it to download?
I am tried of repurchasing songs.  You should always be able to access any song you've bought in the past!
Unfortunately the content owners do not as of this time agree. All the major download stores have the same "one purchase one download" for content other than apps because the content owners require payment for every download whether or not it's a new purchase.
If you can post more details about your setup, software versions, and the exact nature of the problem, perhaps someone here can help you figure out what's going on.
    Regards.

  • I had previously purchased 56 songs, over a year ago. Tonight I purchased 22 more. It seems that I am being charged for all 78 that are currently in the library. How can this be stopped?

I doubt that this is happening.  Why do you think that you are being charged for all 78?
    Did you buy them again?
You only buy one download, so if you downloaded them again you would have to pay again.

  • USing a song from my collection for Ringtone?

If I have a song from a CD I own that the iTunes store shows can be made into a ringtone, can I do it? Or do I have to buy the actual song and then ringtone from the store?

I didn't know how either but after learning from trial and error, I got it and will gladly explain to you.
Open Garage Band, select Create New Music Project.
Provide name for your project, "+Name of Song+ Ringtone" and select create.
Mine opens with a keyboard on the screen so I close out the instrument to get out of my way.
At the bottom right corner, there is a music note icon, click on it and it will open to your itunes music library.
Select the song and drag it onto the grey area of the screen (loop area).
Now you can play your song and begin to cut out the sections you don't need, just keeping the section you want for your "custom ringtone"
Use the scissor icon and the lower section will appear where you can cut out the sections out.
After you have cut out the front and end portions of your song, be sure to drag the remaining portion of song to the left so it will begin a 1 of the ruler.
That can be done by grabbing the song on the top section of the screen, not the editing lower portion of screen and pulling it to the beginning of the loop area.
Once that is done, click on Share, Send Ringtone to iTunes.
A message will appear indicating you to adjust the length of your ringtone, select Adjust
A yellow bar will appear below the ruler and all you need to do is click on this and pull it over the length of your section
I've found that it's best to keep your section no longer then 15
Once the yellow area is adjusted to the length of your ringtone, select Share, Send Ringtone to iTunes and it will begin.
The ringtone will play on your iTunes and be saved in a Ringtone file within iTunes
When you iphone is connected to your mac, pull the ringtone from your library to your ringtone file on your phone.
Then you can go to setting on your iPhone, sounds, and select your Custom Ringtone as your ringer.
    Hope this helps

  • HT201272 When I try to play a previously purchased/downloaded song, I get an error message...

When I try to play a previously purchased/downloaded song, I get an error message that states "The song .... could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" If I try to locate in my files, I can't find it. But when I go to my previously purchased songs, there isn't the option for me to re-download the song.

You are in a country where music can be redownloaded i.e. music appears as a category in the Purchased link ? If it does, and as long as that track is still in your country's store, then deleting that track from your iTunes library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' message) should get it to appear in Purchased with the cloud symbol for redownloading - as you still have it listed in your library iTunes is assuming that you still have the track somewhere and that it doesn't need redownloading. If that track still doesn't show in Purchased (and it's still in the store) then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

  • Ringtones are in my library but won't show up in the tones folder

I have iTunes10 and an iPhone 5. The files are the correct format (m4r), they show up in my music library as a ringtone, the tones folder is already showing, but the ringtones do not show up in my tones folder.  I have already tried saving the files to the desktop and then deleting them from my music library and then opening the file from the desktop.  It automatically adds it back to my music library as a ringtone but does not add it to the tones folder.  Does anyone have any idea why iTunes won't allow me to put anything in my Tones folder and nothing will show up in there even if it is the right file format?
Also, because there is nothing in the tones folder when I connect my iPhone there is no tones tab at the top of the screen to allow me to select any syncing options.  The tones folder shows on the left side of the screen when I click on the iPhone to expand it but no tab at the top and it won't let me put anything in the tones folder under my iPhone either.  Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem. I spent three hours on the phone with Apple Reps last night. They first said that they would have to reinstate ? my permissions, which they did (I had also lost some music) but after an hour of downloads, I still had no tones. Spoke with another Rep and they said if I purchased the Tones on Istore they should show up. I had. They didn't. Then said that it could be the "older" music was no longer compatible and it MUST be purchased through Itunes Store to show up in Tones automatically. So...I bought almost $20 of Tones last night after I hung up, and NONE Of them show up in my Tones folder. I have tried everything. I cannot move them by drag and drop.
This has been an ongoing problem for me for over a year, and so far, I cannot get any help.
I was asked if it was possible if I had different Libraries. I told them I don't know, since I have used Itunes since 2009 (and like the old version much better) and I have never changed my Itunes login or password. I have however, had different computers.  I hope someone can help with this issue.

  • All of my purchased ringtones and songs dissapeared out of the blue. How do I get them back without having to buy them all over again?

Out of the blue, all of my purchased ringtones and music aren't displayed anymore on my iPhone.
I went to iTunes to see if they were stored there, but the downloads folder also appears to be empty. If I try to select a ringtone I've downloaded before, a popup appears saying that I've already purchased that item and asking if I want to cancel or buy. If I click on buy, then I pay for the item again even if I already have it! The only place I can still see my purchased items is in the iTunes application on my computer, but even though I've already selected sync, the ringtones and songs still won't appear on my iPhone.
What happeneded and how can I get them back without having to pay for them all over again?
    Thank you!

I'm having the same problem on an iphone 4s running iOS8; when i updated to iOS8, all my ringtones went missing, and when i got a £50 gift card for christmas (2014), I purchased some songs from the iTunes store on my iPhone. i downloaded songs from paramore, panic! at the disco, coldplay, and imagine dragons, over wi-fi, and they went into my iphone music library; but when i re-opened the music app a few days later, in a place where i had no wi-fi, except for my 3G phone signal, some cloud icons appeared next to my newly purchased songs, telling me to re-download them from the cloud, when i haven't even deleted them. this has happened twice now, and i had to use up some of my 5GB data allowance to redownload them from the cloud. This is annoying and i need to fix this issue ASAP.

  • ITunes will not display ringtone eligible songs

My iTunes music folder has suddnely decided to not display which songs that can be converted to ringtones. I have clicked on the bell icon and restarted iTunes and rebooted my machine but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Mine also no longer displays the bell icon. I go to iTunes, see if the song in the Store has a bell, and then make a ringtone, or just go and click create ringtone from the menu, and if it lets me, I know I can, and if it doesn't, I know I can't. A hassle, but I've tried everything to get those bells back and I have yet to find a way.
