PRI B-Channel
Can someone remind me what the command is on a gateway to change the state of individual channels? i.e to busy
Thanks
You can use the "isdn service" command as detailed in the following link.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1828/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00800ca4be.html#4897
Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

RTMT Specific PRI Active Channel Graph
Is there a way in RTMT to see the active MGCP PRI B channels for a specific span? It appears the only real time graph is a total count of all the active B channels registered to the cluster consisting of multiple PRIs, nothing span specific. Any pointers or alternate ways of doing this would be greatly appreciated. I have pulled CDR records and translated into line graph averages, but would like to be able to see a specific PRI line graph in real time instead of doing a constant "sh voice call summary" over and over on the gateway. This is my 1st time to post on the Cisco Support forums, be gentle. :)
Thanks,
PaulHi pjsooner7,
welcome to the Community.
Try this:
In RTMT > Performance > StandAlone Cluster > <CUCM's IP Addr> > Cisco MGCP Gateways:
- PRIChannelActive
- PRISpanInService
Hope this helps. -
Dialin and dialout on the same PRI
Dear all,
we want to configure a 3640 router with a dual e1-pri card to cover following tasks:
- dial-in (X.25) and protocol translation to TCP
- dial-out (protocol translation from TCP to X.25, routing to a dialer)
Unfortunately we have the problem that once dial-in works and once dial-out works but never the two at the same time.
As far as I understood there are several ways to configure dial-in and dial-out:
- dialer pools
- rotary groups
I tested both but none of them worked fine.
The best working was was to add the E1 interface to dialer-pool 1 and define a dialer which uses this pool.
Unfortunately when the E1 is added to a dialer pool the X.25 dial-in does not work anymore (call not accepted).
Please see at the end of the mail the output of "sh ver" and the config part used for dialling.
Any hints, help or sample config very appreciated.
Best regards,
Bernhard Roth

Load balancing & reduncey with 2 Pri Lines
Dear Friends.......
I have a requirement of VOIP setup and I have 2 Pri Lines of MPLS cloud.
I have 3 r routers, router1 is for IPS 1 (Pri 1), router 2 is for ISP 2 (Pri 2) and router 3 is for Load balancing.
plz explain me how to config load balancing & redundancy....
my another question is E1 Leased line will cupport voip?
ISP 1 IP_172.16.10.1/24
ISP 2 IP_170.16.5.1/24....
Plz explain with config,....
Thanks & Regards,
Srinivas. NHi Alex
Sorry, I have 2 PRIs, PRI one is for main line & PRI two is for backup line, both should work as a load balancing... they are for placing voice calls to the PSTN ..
My concept is I have 3 routers... Router 1 is for PRI one, Router 2 is for PRI two & Router three is for load balancing...
Plz explain me how to config three router...
I hope In router one need to config with pri voice channels, In router two need to config with pri voice channels & In router three need to config load balancing...
Thanks & Regards,

This (2) Port NM should allow to be configured for either Data T1 or Voice T1 or just the Data Only.
Please ClarifyHi Ali,
This module is "Data Only". Have a look at the description for the NM-1CE1T1-PRI;
Module as "Data Only",
The versatility of Cisco 2610-51XM, 2800, 2691, 3660, 3700 and 3800 series routers is demonstrated by their broad support of E1/T1 connectivity and Integrated Services Digital Network Primary Rate Interfaces (ISDN PRI). Customers continue to deploy E1 and T1 circuits for Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity, ISDN dial-backup, and digital modem termination in the Power Branch Office Environment. Cisco now makes it possible to terminate T1 and E1 PRI connections in a single network module. Available in single and dual port models, the NM-1CE1T1-PRI and NM-2CE1T1-PRI cards coupled with Cisco 2610-51XM, 2800, 2691, 3660, 3700 and 3800 Series routers, enhance and simplify customers' WAN connectivity options
The Cisco E1/T1 ISDN PRI Network Module's integrated channel service unit (CSU) provides direct connection to the Telecommunications network, thus allowing customers to consolidate customer premises equipment (CPE). This provides multifunction dial access aggregation, routing functionality, VPN and firewall security, and other capabilities right inside the Cisco router in power branch office environments. Both the 1-port and 2-port versions offer support for balanced and unbalanced E1 connectivity and conform easily to customers' specific applications.
The Cisco E1/T1 ISDN PRI network modules also supply connectivity for internal digital modems in the Cisco 3660, 3700 and 3800 series routers, with connectivity options for PRI, T1 channel associated signaling (T1-CAS), and E1-CAS R2 signaling. This provides for a high concentration of V.92-compatible modems, while still allowing expandability for other critical services.
FEATURES AT-A-GLANCE
Cisco IOS Software configurable for T1 or E1 operation
Balanced or unbalanced E1 termination in the same module
Integrated CSU/DSU (channel service unit/data service unit) per port
Full or fractional E1/T1-can be fully channelized
***Supports PRI for data, T1-CAS, and E1-CAS R2 signaling
E1 unframed and framed modes (G.703/G.704) available
Interoperates with NM-xDM digital modem network modules
Bantam (tty) jacks for easy network monitoring
V.54 loopback compatible
Supported on Cisco 2610-51XM, 2800, 2691, 3660, 3700 and 3800 Series routers
Online insertion and removal (OIR) supported on Cisco 3660 3745 and 3845 routers
On-board expansion slot for future technologies

How to fake ISDN b-channels as busy out of the pri-group timeslots definition ?
Hi, Cisco Support Community,
This is my first post here, so I hope I won't make mistakes... First, thanks for reading me.
I wanted to reuse an old 2811 to act as a SIP gateway on an ISDN primary rate interface. This router is featured with 2 PVDM2-8 modules, so that we're able to handle up to 16 simultaneous calls. So I ordered a pri with 10 channels, which is supposed to be more than enough for our usage.
Everything works fine, excepted that I discovered that the PRI which was delivered to us is a full one, meaning 30 B channels.
As a result, as incoming calls are dispatched round robin by the isdn line provider, when incoming calls start to be presented on b-channel 16, the call is rejected by the router with a "channel unavailable" message... The only way to have a successful incoming call is then to have 15 more unsuccessful tries so that the calls are presented on B-channel 1 again :-/
I have to wait for monday to deal with the line provider to sort this out, but meanwhile, I was trying to find a workaround.
My first try was to use B-channel negotiation on the serial interface (isdn negotiate-bchan resend-setup), but it seems that b channel negociation is disabled on the provider side.
So the other obvious solution would be to fake channels 17 to 31 as busy (isdn busy b_channel xx) ... But as the pri-group timeslots are 1-16, the related serial interface is serial0/0/0:15, and I'm unable to set busy B-channels over 15. And of course, I have no way to define pri-group timeslots 1-31 as I have not enough DSPs to handle more than 16.
I also tried to use the ds0 busyout directive within the E1 controller configuration, but while the command is accepted, it does not appear in the configuration
Below is my running configuration... If some of you can help, this would be much appreciated. Current IOS on the router is Version 12.3(11)T3
Kind regards,
Philippe Martorell

ISDN E1 PRI incoming calls busy out after 2nd b channel picks up
I have an ISDN E1 PRI line coming in from the Telco. D Channel comes up nicely and B channels accept calls, but only the first two calls. Once two callers are online, any further incoming calls get a busy tone. ISDN Debug data reports:
**ERROR**: call_incoming: Remote Protocol Error: No b channel assigned by switch, call id 0xCE
Hardware I'm using? Cisco 2650, 12.3(7T) and NM-HDV, VWIC-2MFT-E1-DI
Anybody please help?Problem sorted - believe it or not, it was the telco. They changed their switch setting for the line to preferrable B channel - and voila!
Thanks,

Controlling Multiple PRI T-1's with 1 d Channel
We are connecting a Redcom IGX to three Cisco 3745 routers (12.4(7g) ios) with 13 T-1's using MGCP and a Call manager running 4.1. We just converted to PRI using 4ESS between the two. The redcom has a way to control (span) up to 5 T-1's using one D Channel, is it possible to control (span) multiple T-1's using one D Channel on the call manager?
Hi Justin,
Teodor is correct here (nice one T!) NFAS is only currently supported with h.323 not MGCP.
Here is a Cisco note indicating this as well as a couple of config docs;

Can CVP Check availability of free channel in PRI and route the call?
We have UCCE setup with ICM 7.x CVP 7.x & CUCM 6.x. There is a requirement from operations team , an inbound call queued to a skillgroup for more than 30 second should be transferred to an external number through T1 PRI.And if no free channel is available on PRI call has to be queued back to skillGroup. We are able to achieve this using IP IVR using Custom call Transfer node . Iam not sure how can we achieve the same using CVP. Is this achievable through CVP /ICM scripting ? If yes how?
Hi,
It is possible in CVP to route the call back to an external number. For this you would need to configure a label (Probably the number to which you want to send). If the call is in queue for more than 30 seconds you can send back the label configured to CVP and from CVP you can point a static route to the Egress gateway through which the call can go to the T1 PRI

Why do we need to assign ip for the D channel ISDN-PRI
Why do we need to assign ip address to the D channel (signaling ) when we configure ISDN-PRI in the example below :
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/ap/ap_ts3/ap_ts3sw/apswisd.htm
<quote>
Step 1:Specify the D channel of the first Primary Rate Interface (PRI):
AS01(config)# interface Serial 0:23
AS01(config-if)#
Step 2: Assign an IP address and subnet mask to the interface:
AS01(config-if)# ip address 172.16.254.253
</quote>
RegardsYou can assing one there, and / or on dialer interfaces. It depends on what you are doing.
These will be the address used by PPP when it runs on the B-channels. -

Configure 2801 for 15 channel PRI
I'm new to configuring PRI's so excuse me if there is an obvious answer to my question. I recently purchased CUCM Business Edition and a 2801 router. I've configured the CM and the router and now have outbound calling working but cannot call in to any of the DID's. On the controller I did
pri-group timeslots 1-15 service mgcp
and i want to know if anyone knows if that is correct for a 15 channel partial PRI. Also if anyone has any ideas why I'd be able to make calls out but not receive calls. Any help greatly appreciated.

PRI channel busy issue , even when there are no active calls
Hi All ,
