Pri hdd error

I'm putting the next things together:
MSI 865PE NEO2 PFISR, 3,0 gHZ P4, MATROX P650, WD 360 SATA RAPTOR, PLEXTOR 116 DVD, KINGSTON PC3700 HYPERX 2x512Gb, Antec 3700BQE.
When booting there is an error: pri hdd error. Replaced the sata cable and tried the sata2, no result.
When I push f1(resume) windows starts setup but quits because it needs a hard drive...
What should I do?

Which version of Windows?
Are you booting from the CD and installing Windows and where does it stop. Blue screen where it says there are no drives to install to?
Also what settings do you hav in Bios>>Integrated Peripherals>>On-Chip IDE Config.
If using XP should be:
Native Mode
SATA Only
Keep PATA active-Yes
Both Channels
Configure as Raid-No
Leave rest at default

  • Satellite U200-181 Built-in HDD ERROR

I've bought "Toshiba Satellite U200-181" 2 weeks ago. Recently (2-3 days ago) Ive got problem with built-in HDD.
So the problem is that sometimes I'm getting the message "Built-in HDD ERROR" during Notebook startup. This message "Built-in HDD ERROR" appears from time to time and system stops booting from HDD, but can boot from other bootable devices. First time when message "Built-in HDD ERROR" occurred, it was accompanied by lot of strange clapper pop noise from inside of the Notebook. All other
"Built-in HDD ERROR" messages were accompanied with not so loud and strange clapper pop noise, but still with some pop sounds (not as loud as at first time).
To identify possible problems I saved S.M.A.R.T. data log (see appendix#1).
Additional information: After I've purchased the Notebook Ive made successful BIOS upgrade from version 1.40 to version 1.50 strictly according Toshiba official web-site instructions. After BIOS upgrade system worked well, no ERRORS, no faults. But 3days ago I got "Built-in HDD ERROR" message.
    Any ideas? Thank you.

I recommend you to contact Toshiba service partner in your country as soon as possible. The unit is new one and something like this should not happen. Explain them the situation and you will see what they can do about it.
You can also contact your local dealer and try to exchange the unit to new one.

  • Tecra S4 -125 shows built-in HDD error

I've bought Toshiba Tecra S4 -125 and Ive got problem with built-in HDD.
New SATA HDD does not work.
The message "Built-in HDD ERROR" appears from time to time and system stops booting from HDD and boot is very, very slow.
In BIOS settings HDD is not detected.
    What is wrong there?
    Thank you...

    Hi
Maybe dust is blocking the cooling ventilator and so your notebook shuts down immediately
So in your case I would clean the notebook using compressed air spray. This could blow out the dust from the cooling ventilators and therefore its not necessary to disassemble the notebook. Check this!!!
Which display driver you are using? I can only recommend the Toshiba drivers because they are pretested.

  • Qosmio F20 - Built-In HDD error

My F29 took a hefty knock today around the HDD area on the forward right, while my kids were playing around. In hefty i mean that when it got knocked it unclipped the speaker panal near the sreen.
For a while it continued to work but about 10 mins later i got a blue screen with a load of text and then it just restarted.
During the boot up screen a error came up saying "Built-in HDD error".. Now i checked the connection and they seem solid enough. is there anything that i can do to get my system working again?
    Thanks in advance
    J

    Hello
You can check this yourself ;)
On the bottom side of the notebook you must only remove the HDD cover that is secured with one screw as far as I know. Remove the cover and then you can see what type of HDD it is.
Anyway, as far as I know the Qosmio F20 was equipped with IDE HDDs. That means due the 28bit LBA limitation you can use HDDs up to 128GB.
So I think a HDD with 120GB would be best solution.

  • Portege R600 Built-in HDD Error

My Portege R600 has been working fine until today when it came up with the message "Built-in HDD error" when I switched it on. It then lists the following:
    Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.3.24
    PXE-E61: Media test failure,check cable
    PXE-MOF:Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
    Insert system disk in drive.
    Press any key when ready...
I am travelling in South America and do not have access to the system disks.
Can anyone help with this problem ?

you can read about this issue:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=8
It looks like your hdd isn't recognized by bios. The possible reasons:
1 Hdd is dead (should be replaced)
2 the controller on the motherboard is dead (the whole mobo should be replaced)
    3. In bios, lan boot set is the 1st boot device(Go to the Bios F2 on startup and check in Boot priority option)

  • Qosmio G15R - Built in HDD error

    Hello
I am getting an error message that says "built in hdd error" when booting up my laptop. The laptop has 2 HDD's. One 40GB and one 60GB.
I have tried both in the HDD1 slot and I am still getting the same message. I was able to use the recovery disc on the 60GB HDD and was able to start the laptop. It worked for a an hour then I got the same HDD message again. Everything is plugged in fine.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

    Hey,
    > I know that repair costs for these laptops are very exp.
Its just depending on the spare part that you need. If you need only a new HDD, it costs the same as for other notebooks I think. All notebooks using HDDs with SATA or IDE interface and thats all!
But parts as mainboard or display are more expensive. As far as I know they are the most expensive parts so sometimes its better to look on eBay or buy a new notebook. But its not unusual, the same is true of all other notebooks/manufactures.

  • "Built in HDD error" in Portege R200

    Hello,
My Portege R200 shows 'built-in HDD error" in boot time. In the BIOS screen, it says "no drive" in HDD.
What do I do? I checked the connection and the drive is plugged in fine. I didn't hear any noise while booting.
Is this HDD problem? or perhaps motherboard? Help!!
    Lee

    Does the HDD spin up?
Try resetting the BIOS to default settings.
Other than that, I think there is not much you can do, except for sending the laptop to a service center for repair.

  • T61P HDD Error 2100

Hey all, I have a T61P which I was running Windows 7 on. Two days ago my hard drive crashed. Following the boot screen there are two beeps and then I get an error 2100 message. I went out and bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 on it. As I was installing Windows updates and Thinkpad drivers the hard drive crashed and again goes from boot screen to an Error 2100 message. What can this be and how can I fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Reseating sometimes helps, a while ago I was updating 6GB to 20GB on my IBM 240, I noticed that the ThinkPad sometimes threw HDD error, I reseated the drive and noticed that one of the HDD pins was little bit crooked, I straightened it out and never got any error ever since.
There is an HDD firmware update, see if your drive qualiifies:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-63685.html
    From the txt file:-
This firmware update includes the fix for the case on a system with
Windows Vista, that the system may display the following error
message at each power on, and then cannot boot from the hard drive.
"2100: Initialization error on HDD0 (Main hard disk drive)"
Maliha (I don't work for lenovo)
    ThinkPads:- T400[Win 7], T60[Win 7], IBM 240[Win XP]
    IdeaPad: U350
    Apple:- Macbook Air [Snow Leopard]

I can't understand why its happening.
    HDD doesn't have cache?

The JVM had died in the GFX package.
I suggest you do a windows update and make sure you have the latest graphics drivers.
Failing that you need to get a new version of java when it becomes available. :)

PC now has a HDD error ( BIOHD-8 ) ? Tried everything I could think of to fix but still has this error. Is there a fix??

If that error is displayed as a result of a hard disk test in either the BIOS or the HP Support Assistant, it means that your hard disk is going to fail. There is no fix for this.
I suggest purchasing a new hard drive. Have you created an HP Recovery disc set or usb recovery media?
Save all of your data to an external hard drive.

    Hi,
The error code is a short Disk Self Test failure and would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know - include the full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see Here for a further explanation.

  • HDD errors - Wi-Fi: no hardware installed - Flashing ?-Folder

    Hi there,
for the last one year I'm having periodical issues with my macbook pro 13'' mid 2011.
Some time ago I started a discussion https://discussions.apple.com/message/22086569#22086569 concerning allocation errors on the file system etc.
I though I got it fixed with a new hdd sata connection cable. As it turns out I seam to only scratch the surface of a much bigger problem. As you can read in the title after getting allocation errors after a reboot my wi-fi hardware is not found (this also got repaired some time ago) and now i cannot boot into my system as I'm getting the flashing folder with the question mark in it.
With me changing cables and so I only get like 1 or 2 month of peace then the whole problem starts again. Could this be like a faulty logic board or some loose connection on it? I already paid like around 300€ for repairments on this **** thing and all they said or did was changing cables. I don't believe that cables are the source of the problem.
Do you have any other advices?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Guys,
I am having the same problem. In the "No hardware installed" (Macbook pro - mid 2009 model os x 10.6) Help ...please....!!!

  • HDD Error -36 question: Am I on the right track here?

    Hey folks,
    HDD question here.
I have a 13” early ’11 MBP, 320 GB HDD, came with Lion, now running ML, anticipating a soon upgrade to Mavs. 16 GB of RAM. All updates current.
Started running out of HDD space with all my photo and video work and about a year and a half ago I bought a 1 TB WD portable, used it lots, no problems.
Last night, I bought a 2 TB WD portable. Started copying my Photo folder over, and I got lots of the dreaded Error 36, “The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “IMG_0596.CR2” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)”
This is the first time I have seen this error with either/any drive.
So I have these two external WD drives with two cables, so I tried copying one of the offending folders to both drives
(both the 1 TB and the 2 TB, one at a time) using both/either cables. Both drives and cables give me the same error.
In short, either drive, in either USB slot, with either cable gets the same error.
In shorter, I think I have eliminated the external drives as the source of the problem.
    Thoughts?
FYI, the 1 TB is Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
The 2 TB is MS-DOS (FAT32), though I am 99% sure I will be converting it to Extended/Journaled ASAP. (thoughts?)
In the last 6 months I’ve noticed things running slower…a LOT slower, at least it seems like.
Granted, my HDD has been a bit packed, but I’ve offloaded a lot too.
More beach ball action than seems to be normal, etc etc, even with all this RAM.
My total boot time (cold) is:
    1:30 to login screen
    1:57 to loaded desktop.
By way of comparison, this same MBP will boot to Snow Leopard off an external drive in 1:13 to a loaded desktop.
    My question:
I’ve HEARD that the Error -36 can be a likely precursor to drive failure.
[U]Given what I’ve mentioned here, is the most likely candidate for a failed drive my main HDD?
Are there other things I should check first?[/U]
I have a chance to buy a Seagate Momentus XT 750 GB hybrid SSD drive out of a Mac, and it has very little use on it.
(I'd be buying from a family member I trust).
    Thoughts on that?

I might not explain my question well in my previous post -- there is no business logic involved in what I am doing to go from the first entity bean to the second entity bean and to go from the second entity bean to the third entity bean.
Based on the login information, I have to go through those entity beans to find the very specific row in the third table in order to get the data field I need. That is to say, only thing involved is searching for rows.
    In my view, session bean -- > 1st entity bean -- > 2nd entity bean -- > 3rd entity bean
    1. session bean -- > 1st entity bean: remote call and returns the key to the 1st entity bean for locating the 2nd entity bean
    2. 1st entity bean -- > 2nd entity bean: local call and returns the key to the 2nd entity bean for locating the 3rd entity bean
    3. 2nd entity bean -- > 3rd entity bean: local call and then returns the value of the specific field to the session bean
    The alternative approach is:
    session bean
    |
    + + +
1st entity bean 2nd entity bean 3rd entity bean
    1. session bean -- > 1st entity bean: remote call and returns the key to the session bean for locating the 2nd entity bean
    2. session bean -- > 2nd entity bean: remote call
and returns the key to the session bean for locating the 3rd entity bean
    3. session bean -- > 3rd entity bean: remote call and the session bean can get the value of the specific field from the 3rd entity bean
I do not know which approach to go for. Please provide guidance. Thanks.

  • Strange HDD error, couldn't repair.

    Hi!
Yesterday turned off my Macbook normally, when today tried to start it, it started very long time - desktop and dash came up quickly as usual, but clock, airport indicator, bluetooth, battery etc didn't came up and i needed to wait about 20 minutes, and all this time i couldn't do anything.
After i started Disk Utility and checked my volume - it needed to be repaired.
But when i tried to do this, an error occured:
"Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit"
    (screenshot is here http://bestpics.ru/full/Picture-1.png )
I tried to start my macbook in a target drive mode, then connected it to another Mac using FireWire, but the same error occurs while trying to repair a disk.
S.M.A.R.T.status for the HDD is OK.
I also tried to use fsck command (ater taking root's privileges, of course) but nothing doing
Please, can anyone suggest, what should I do now?

Guys! Found a solution - just booted in a single-user-mode, then fsck with -fy option. That's all!

  • ISDN PRI Configuration errors

    Dears,
I trying to configure a ISDN PRI on a 1751-V router and the following error occur:
    CISCO_BARR(config-controller)#pri-group time 1-6
%Controller tdm clock does not have data capability
%Insufficient HDLC resource for pri-group - it has been removed
How do I to configure ISDN PRI in that router ?
    More information:
    Cisco 1751-V
    Router Version: c1700-ipvoice-mz.123-9d.bin

    Hi,
Please make sure that you putting the T1/E1 card in the WVIC and not VIC slot as PRI can do
voice but it is still considedred as data, so if you try to confiugre this in a slot that
is VIC (instead of VWIC) only then it will not work for you. Furthermore, you needed to
have the tdm clock command set to both and not just voice, as you are creating a PRI,
which, again, is Data, but can do voice too.
here is the example of command :--
tdm clock T1 2/0 both export line
    hth
