Prices with PHP/MySQL

I want to use numbers from a database as prices. In the database (PHP/MySQL) the structure is "decimal(9,2)". If I put it out with PHP a number like 9.02 is € 9.02 but 9.20 looks like this € 9.2. How do I put prices with PHP/MySQL?
I hope my question is clear.. Thankx for any further help.

Use the PHP number_format() function.

    Hi friends,
I have a problem with php/mysql. I have created a form inton a php page with dreamweaver and when i try to fill the form with a string containing apostrophe ( ' ), i have a error. It seems that the insertion is not possible. Could you have any idea for that. I give you the php dreamweaver code and thank you for your help.

  • Thinking of learning to build sites with PHP/MySQL

Is it worth it to invest the time and brain power? I've been
using Dreamweaver for years. None of my sites really are so large
that I'm having issues. But, I could see some down the road that
might be too complex and large.
I'm having some problems figuring out where to begin. Any
suggestions on books that specifically deal with Dreamweaver and
    database driven sites?

David Powers 'Foundation PHP for Dreamweaver 8' is what got
    me started. I
was able to work through most of it in a weekend. He takes
    you step by step
on how to set up your computer to run PHP/MySQL, and then you
    build a series
of increasingly complex projects with each new aspect of
    PHP/MySQL that he
    teaches.
He has some newer books out, too, if you have a more recent
    version of DW:

  • Problem when displaying images when working  with PHP, mysql and dreamweaver in a brower

    Hey Guys
I am new to dynamic development but I already did some
research and tutorials about how to get a dynamic web site working
with PHP and Mysql in Dreamweaver. I set up a test page to view
some content on it directly from the mysql database and it worked
just fine in dreamweaver only when I pressed the
    live data view.
When I tried to view the same page using the browser preview
with firefox and internet explorer, plain text from the database
was correctly displayed on the brower but the images were absent.
In the mysql database I used the varchar as my picture data
type field so that I will refer in dreamweaver in the data binding
panel in the img.src to the picture column of my database.
I anyone can tell me what am I doing wrong so that my
pictures are not displayed in the browser when i click the browser
preview facility in dreamweaver I would be very very and very
    pleased ! :)

The odds are that it is the way that you have referenced the
    images rather
than an issue with the database. If you have the images root
    relative like
this "/images" then they will work in preview, and on the
    webserver, but
will not view when looking at the file via localhost.
If possible make the links page relative and then they should
    work fine.

Hi i have a website which is a gangster MMORPG, it using PHP,
CSS, HTML and some javascript but however with the amount of game
similar to mine i want to make it unique so i bought "building
flash websites for dummies" i have read must of it and understand
most of it. but however don't really have a clue i it could
    actually work with my website.
what i want to know is can it work with my current PHP &
MYSQL, so for example i want to create a logging page with flash to
replace my old PHP/HTML one this will be my first crack at it. but
will flash be able to check the MYSQL database and send error

Yeah, this can work... My recommendations would be to read a

  • Spry accordion with php mysql as data

    Hello
I`m trying to create a spry accordion where the Labels are pulled from a mysql database table and the Content of that label is pulled from data in the same database. I tried adding first the spry accordion and then created 1 recordset for the labels and a second recordset for the content , then I added a repeat region for the labels DIV and inside this div I added a repeat region for the content.
Unfortunatly when viewed in the browsers the accordion doesn`t work.
Can anyone look at the code and tell me where is the mistake.

  • DW CS4 with PHP/MySQL

    Hi,
I have come across some buggy stuff today in CS4 that I have never seen before. Anytime I would filter a recordset  using "URL Parameter" ,Dreamweaver would totaly mess up the recorset. When I go to "Advanced" I see that there is an additional SQL Variable named "totalRows" in addition to another one named "colname". Everytime I cleaned up the SQL statement only to revert it back.
    Has anyone seen that?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Kal

OK...my bad. My problem basically amounted to "user error", which as we all know is more often than not the case. I have discovered that when you manipulate a MySQL recordset and associated variables via the Bindings panel, you must be VERY CAREFUL making additions or changes. I guess I have become complacent in that DW CS4 has proven to be very intuitive in 'cleaning up' old code in favor of subsequent modifications. Not really the case, in this particular instance. The interface basically inserts your changes via the Bindings edits ON TOP OF the existing code. It will often duplicate the recordset, code-wise. And if you modify a variable, thinking that DW will go in and clean up your old statements, beware - it will not! You are better off manually changing the code in the program itself. I am pressed for time here, but will be more than happy to provide specific examples if asked to, at a later date. Thanks much, Murray!

The second example you give is closer, but you need to
    enclose the query
fields in quotes and use OR rather than AND...
SELECT * FROM produtos WHERE prod_modelo LIKE '%colname%' OR
    prod_funcao
    LIKE '%colname%' OR prod_descricao LIKE '%colname%' OR
    prod_tags LIKE
    '%colname%' ORDER BY prod_modelo ASC

  • I need help with DW, PHP & MySQL please.

Hello, I am new to website development and am trying to set up a form for collecting data on my website and have a question that I can’t find an answer to anywhere else. I was wandering if someone there would be kind enough to help?  I am using Dreamweaver in CS4 and my host already has PHP & MySQL installed on the server that I can use.  My question is: Do I need to download XAMP or WAMP on my computer before trying to connect my form to the server?  Also, do I need to change the page I am putting the form on to .PHP extension or can I just embed the PHP form into an existing HTML page?
Most of the training tutorials I’ve read don’t start at the most basic beginning but rather expect people to already have a basic knowledge of the topics they are trying to learn.  If anyone knows the best place to get answers to the most basic questions like this one or a beginners guide to working with DW, PHP & MySQL I will gladly go there rather than waste your time on questions you’ve probably already answered a bezillion times.
    Thank you for the help.

Strictly speaking, you don't need XAMPP or WAMP on your local computer. But if you're serious about getting involved with PHP/MySQL, you should definitely set up a local testing environment with one or the other. It's safer and more efficient. Don't expose all your errors on a live server. You can find instructions on  how to set up a testing environment here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setting_up_php.html.
To develop with PHP, you should always use a .php file name extension. Any other choice is very rare.
There's a tutorial on building your first dynamic website with DW here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_dynamic_site_pt1.html.
For more in-depth help, you might want to consider grabbing hold of a copy of "The Essential Guide to Dreamweaver CS4 with CSS, Ajax, and PHP". (Yes, I wrote it, so it's a bit of shameless self-promotion, but you'll find it answers many of your questions - and probably a lot you hadn't even thought of.)

The reason you get nothing when you save the page with a .php
    extension
is because you have display_errors turned off, so you can't
    see the
error message telling you there's a syntax error. The
    semicolon is
missing at the end of this line:
    > echo "<font color='white'>Hello
    Swetha</font>"
The reason it doesn't work with an .html extension is
    probably because
    you haven't uploaded SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.js. I have
    copied your
page and tested it locally with the correct JavaScript file,
    and the
    tabbed panels work as expected.
There are lots of other mistakes in your page. You can't use
    float and
position:absolute on the same element. In at least one place,
    you have
used </br> instead of <br />. You have also got
    an closing paragraph tag
after the paragraph that contains abc.jpg.
Getting Spry or any other JavaScript library to work
    correctly relies on
good, clean code. Your mixture of inline styles and font tags
    is going
to make it difficult to incorporate Spry into your pages. I
    suggest you
improve your HTML and CSS before bringing Spry into the mix.

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 Mobile Apps with PHP and MYSQL?

    Hello,
I don't have Dreamweaver CS5.5 yet and I've been trying to search for information on this but I couldn't find any. I've been learning PHP and been developing with MYSQL with Dreamweaver CS5 but I wanted to know if I can use the same tags and everything if I would to build a Mobile App using the new Dreamweaver CS5.5 (http://tv.adobe.com/watch/cs-55-web-premium-feature-tour-/dreamweaver-cs-55-jquery-mobile- pages/). I overlooked at the video and it seems pretty easy building an app. So is PHP and MYSQL easily integratable? Are there any examples that I might be able to check out?
    Thanks!

No. PHP is a server-side scripting language that requires a server (or server-like environment) to run.
An iPhone (or Android) application does not allow for a "built-in" server (which is resource intensive and has scary security implications). You just can't build an application with PHP/MySQL for a mobile device. Instead you can build a web service that your HTML/JavaScript mobile application can then communicate with. This is the only supported way you can use PHP/MySQL in a mobile app. Again: the PHP/MySQL should reside on a server and your HTML/JS mobile app can then communicate with that web service. That's what instapaper and other applications do.
Frankly, just make a web application that's mobile device friendly and you'll:
    1) Avoid all the messiness of the app stores
    2) Have greater control over what your web app can do (don't have to tow the Apple/Google line)
    3) Have a web app that can work across mulitple mobile devices as well as standard web browsers (i.e. more audience = more $).
    4) Future proof your application (pushing updates to your server and everyone using your web app is updated)
Otherwise, read-up on Adobe AIR and what it supports and remember, the best apps are written natively for the platform (i.e. want to write an app for an iPhone? Learn Objective-C and use xCode on a Mac. Want to write an app for Motorola Xoom? Learn the Android SDK and use inteliJ).

  • Problems with recordset in PHP/MySQL setting

We use Dreamweaver CS5 for creating dynamic pages (PHP pages with MySQL database). We test the site locally on a Windows 7 operating system with EasyPHP as WAMP server.
We often have a problem in managing the record set.
The following problem occurs quite often:
We take a PHP page. We create a recordset. We use a dynamic table or a repeated region to show the results of the recordset. So far so good.
Then we want to change something to the recordset for example the filter. When editing the recordset, the advanced mode is shown, it is impossible to swith to the simple mode.
By deleting the recordset the problem is not solved. By deleting and afterwards rebuilding the recordset, syntax errors occur. It seems that the php code for building the recordset didn't dissapear.
The only solutions till now seems to completely restart with a new PHP page.
Anyone has a solution for this or anyone did experience the same problem ?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Ilse

You cannot switch to Simple mode in the Recordset dialog box if you have made any changes to the SQL in Advanced mode.
Opening the Recordset dialog box to edit the settings does occasionally result in the code being inserted again instead of being changed. This appears to be an intermittent bug, which I have experienced myself, and know that others have complained about it, too. As far as I know, there is no solution other than to watch carefully the code that Dreamweaver generates.
If you don't understand the code, you would be well advised to learn what it means and does. Relying on Dreamweaver to do everything for you severely limits what you can do with PHP/MySQL. Adobe regards the server behaviors as quick prototyping tools, rather than for developing production websites.

  • Any reason why a .exe projector would not communicate with a php/mysql

    hello;
    I have a .dcr in a directory, that when runs from a browser does everything as expected: calls php/mysql, etc;
however, I have a .exe in that same directory, published at the same time, but does not seem to be getting the php/mysql calls...
    any thoughts please... thanks.

currently everything is running on my computer ( win xp with apache server with php/mysql modules ) ... I currently use my default winxp firewall ... hmm, maybe I should turn it off and see what happens

  • Recommend PHP/MySQL Utility Application

To save time, I am looking to purchase an application development software / toolbox compatible with php / mysql.  One of the functions I am looking for is a php file upload via form upload script. I know that DMX zone has separate program they sell.  Ideally, I would like a tool that does more than just one function and not with a high price tag.
If you could recommend some products, it would be appreciated.

When it comes to using a reasonably priced "no additional coding required" PHP/MySQL code generation software, I´ve always been very pleased with PHPMAKER -- however it should be mentioned that there are lots of other tools out there as well which might suit your needs better than this one, so just google for "php code generator" to get a general idea on what´s available.
    Cheers,
