Primary and pooled samples

Hi all,
I posted a similar question before about the sampling procedure. But the request has been changed a bit. My client takes samples depending on the number of containers, lets call this the primary samples. The lab does not do the analysis on the primary samples, but they create pooled samples. They combine 5 primary samples to 1 pooled sample. They will do the analysis on this pooled sample. But they need labels for all the primary samples.
An example. They receive 10 boxes, so 10 samples need to be created. The lab will create 2 pooled samples (10 / 5 = 2). So when enter results recording only the two primary samples need to be visible for the inspection lot, not all of the primary samples. How can this be done?
Thanks for your help.

Generally the when you create sampling drawing procedure with Primary & pooled samples both then the number of samples are created as per the "Pooled" sample defined.This is what std SAP.
I don't understand what you mean by this...
I think i already found the solution. I configured the sample drawing proc as follows:
- Primary sample acc to formula TRUNC(SQRT(P2)+1)
- Pooled sample acc to formula TRUNC(P3/5)
The procedures is dependend on the number of containers.

    Hello,
    Hope the below link gives you an insight into how the pooled/cluster tables behave.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/EN/81/415d363640933fe10000009b38f839/frameset.htm
    For better understanding on how and when to create pooled/cluster table, refer to the below examples.
    All Condition tables i.e., Annn tables (pricing/discounts etc.,) belong to the table Pool KAPOL (Condition Pool) as the underlying concept is same across different condition tables, but, they have different Key (primary) fields.
    Accounting Document Segment (Line Item records) BSEG is a cluster table that belongs to the table cluster RFBLG. Also, other tables such as BSEC, BSED, BSES, BSET also come under the same table cluster as all of them possess the common Key i.e., BUKRS/BELNR/GJAHR.

  • Clustertable and pooled table

    hi guru
    which type of data is store in cluster table and pooled table?
    what is relation between cluster and pooled table

    Hi,
    . Transparent tables (BKPF, VBAK, VBAP, KNA1, COEP)
    · Allows secondary indexes (SE11->Display Table->Indexes)
    · Can be buffered (SE11->Display Table->technical settings) Heavily updated tables should not be buffered.
    II. Pool Tables (match codes, look up tables)
    · Should be accessed via primary key or
    · Should be buffered (SE11->Display Table->technical settings)
    · No secondary indexes
    · Select * is Ok because all columns retrieved anyway
    III. Cluster Tables (BSEG,BSEC)
    · Should be accessed via primary key - very fast retrieval otherwise very slow
    · No secondary indexes
    · Select * is Ok because all columns retrieved anyway. Performing an operation on multiple rows is more efficient than single row operations. Therefore you still want to select into an internal table. If many rows are being selected into the internal table, you might still like to retrieve specific columns to cut down on the memory required.
    · Statistical SQL functions (SUM, AVG, MIN, MAX, etc) not supported
    · Can not be buffered
    IV. Buffered Tables (includes both Transparent & Pool Tables)
    While buffering database tables in program memory (SELECT into internal table) is generally a good idea for performance, it is not always necessary. Some tables are already buffered in memory. These are mostly configuration tables. If a table is already buffered, then a select statement against it is very fast. To determine if a table is buffered, choose the 'technical settings' soft button from the data dictionary display of a table (SE12). Pool tables should all be buffered.
    "Major difference betwen Standard tables,Pooled tables and Cluster Tables?
    1.A transparent table is a table that stores data directly. You can read these tables directly on the database from outside SAP with for instance an SQL statement.
    2.Transparent table is a one to one relation table i.e. when you create one transparent table then exactly same table will create in data base and if is basically used to store transaction data.
    3.A clustered and a pooled table cannot be read from outside SAP because certain data are clustered and pooled in one field.
    4.One of the possible reasons is for instance that their content can be variable in length and build up. Database manipulations in Abap are limited as well.
    5.But pool and cluster table is a many to one relationship table. This means many pool table store in a database table which is know as table pool.
    6.All the pool table stored table in table pool does not need to have any foreign key relationship but in the case of cluster table it is must. And pool and cluster table is basically use to store application data.
    7.Table pool can contain 10 to 1000 small pool table which has 10 to 100 records. But cluster table can contain very big but few (1 to 10) cluster table.
    8.For pool and cluster table you can create secondary index and you can use select distinct, group for pool and cluster table. You can use native SQL statement for pool and cluster table.
    9.A structure is a table without data. It is only filled by program logic at the moment it is needed starting from tables.
    10.A View is a way of looking at the contents of tables. It only contains the combination of the tables at the basis and the way the data needs to be represented. You actually call directly upon the underlying tables.
    'The table which store information about Structures and Tables are as follows:
    DD02L - table properties
    DD02T - table texts
    DD03L - field properties
    DD03T - field texts

  • No. Of Pooled Samples in QPV2

    Hi Experts,
    One of the required scenario for no. of pooled samples is:
    If No. of Containers is < 81 , No. of Pooled Samples is 1
    If No. of containers is  81 or above ,  No. of Pooled Samples is 2
    How to set this in system. I am not able to put any if statement in Formula field in QPV2 (Pooled Samples TAB)
    Thanks in Advance
    Junaid

    Whenever I've had this problem, it was due to my Hard Disk going into "energy saving mode" and needed time to rev up. Thus only the part of the EXS instrument thats loaded in RAM will play. There are two things you can try:
    1. Make sure your energy preferences are set so your hard disk NEVER goes to sleep. Note this setting does NOT work for external HD's, so if you have your samples on an external HD move them to an internal drive and see if that fixes your problem.
    2. Turn off Virtual memory preference in the options menu of the EXS player. Its my understanding that with this turned off, all samples will be loaded into RAM, and thus your HD will not be a problem.
    Hope this helps!

  • BC4J pooling sample

    Hi, I am trying to get an application module from the Web context (without using data bindings). Searching through this forum I found the following message:
    " An alternative approach that would provide tighter integration with the web container is to use the HttpContainer to acquire a SessionCookie and to then use that SessionCookie to acquire/release an AM. This approach is documented in the BC4J pooling sample that should be available here on OTN. "
    Does anyone knows where I can find that document ?
    Thanks in advance.

    If you download the 9.0.4 JDeveloper release from:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/index.html
    the sample is included in there in the ./BC4J/samples/Pooling directory.

  • Wat is the exact differences between clustered table and pooled table

    hi,
       can you tell me ravi...wat is the exact differences between clustered table and pooled table
    with regards//
    anilreddyg

    Hi Anil Reddy
    Pooled Tables, Table Pools, Cluster Tables, and Table Clusters
    These types of tables are not transparent in the sense that they are not legible or manageable directly using the underlying database system tools. They are managed from within the R/3 environment from the ABAP dictionary and also at runtime when they are loaded into application memory.Pool and cluster tables are logical tables. Physically, these logical tables are arranged as records of transparent tables. The pool and cluster tables are grouped together in other tables, which are of the transparent type. The tables that group together pool tables are known as table pools, or just pools; similarly, table clusters, or just
    clusters, are the tables which group cluster tables.Not all operations that can be performed over transparent tables can be executed over pool or cluster tables.
    For instance, you can manage these tables using Open SQL calls from ABAP, but not Native SQL.These tables are meant to be buffered and loaded in memory, because they are commonly used for storing internal control information and other types of data with no external (business) relevance. SAP recommends that tables of pool or cluster type be used exclusively for control information such as
    program parameters, documentation, and so on. Transaction and application data should be stored in transparent tables.
    Table Pools
    From the point of view of the underlying DBMS as from the point of view of the ABAP dictionary, a table pool is a transparent table containing a group of pooled tables which, when created, were assigned to this table pool.
    Field Type Description
    TABNAME CHAR(10) Table name
    VARKEY CHAR(n) Maximum key length n =< 110
    DATALN INT2(5) Length of the VARDATA record returned
    VARDATA RAW(m) Maximum length of the data varies according to DBMS
    Table Clusters
    Similarly to pooled tables, cluster tables are logical tables which, when created, are assigned to a table cluster. Therefore, a table cluster, or just cluster, groups together several tables of type clusters.Several logical rows from different cluster tables are brought together in a single physical record. The records
    from the cluster tables assigned to a cluster are thus stored in a single common table in the database.A cluster contains a transparent cluster key which must be located at the start of the key of all logical cluster tables to be included in the cluster. As well, a cluster contains a long field (VARDATA), which contains the
    data of the cluster tables for this key. If the data does not fit into a field, continuation records are created.
    Field Type Description
    CLKEY1 CHAR(*) First key fields
    CLKEY2 CHAR(*) Second key field
    CLKEYN CHAR(*) nth key field
    PAGENO INT2(5) Number of the next page
    TIMESTMP CHAR(14) Time stamp
    PAGELG INT2(5) Length of the VARDATA record returned
    VARDATA RAW(*) Maximum length of the data section; varies according to database system
    Working with Tables
    The dictionary includes many functions for working with tables. There are five basic operations you can perform on tables: display, create, delete, modify, copy. Please do not confuse displaying a table with displaying the table entries (table contents). In order to display a table, it must previously exist; otherwise the system will display an error message in the status bar. For the following example, the table TABNA is used. To display this table, from the main dictionary screen, enter the table name in the Object name
    input field with the radio button selected next to Tables. Then, click on the Display button at the bottom of the screen, or press the F7 function key, or, alternatively,
    select Dictionary object Display from the menu.
    In this screen, you can see table information such as
    ¨ Table type, shown next to the name of the object. In the example, it is a transparent table.
    ¨ Short text description.
    ¨ Name of the user who made the last change, and the date of the change.
    ¨ Master language.
    ¨ Table status. On the screen, you can see this table is saved and active.
    ¨ Development class. For information on development classes, refer to Chap. 6.
    Delivery class, which sets the maintenance group for the table. It controls how tables will behave during client copy procedures, upgrades, and so forth.¨
    Tab. Maint. Allowed flag, which indicates whether you can generate a screen for maintaining table entries.
    ¨Then, on the lower part of the screen, you can see the table fields with all associated characteristics such as:
    ¨ Field name.
    ¨ Key indicator. When set, this field is the primary key, or part of it.
    ¨ Data element.
    ¨ Basic data type.
    ¨ Length.
    ¨ Check table.
    ¨ Short text, describing the field.
    Additional information about the table can be displayed by selecting the corresponding functions from the menu or directly from the application toolbar, such as keys, indexes, or technical settings
    Standard table:
    The key access to a standard table uses a sequential search. The time required for an access is linearly dependent on the number of entries in the internal table.
    You should usually access a standard table with index operations.
    Sorted table:
    The table is always stored internally sorted by its key. Key access to a sorted table can therefore use a binary search. If the key is not unique, the entry with the lowest index is accessed. The time required for an access is logarithmically dependent on the number of entries in the internal table.
    Index accesses to sorted tables are also allowed. You should usually access a sorted table using its key.
    Hash table:
    The table is internally managed with a hash procedure. All the entries must have a unique key. The time required for a key access is constant, that is it does not depend on the number of entries in the internal table.
    You cannot access a hash table with an index. Accesses must use generic key operations (SORT, LOOP, etc.).
    Index table:
    The table can be a standard table or a sorted table.
    Index access is allowed to such an index table. Index tables can be used to define the type of generic parameters of a FORM (subroutine) or a function module.

    Right now, I have:
    int compare_login_ts(dbp, a, b)
         DB *dbp;
         const DBT a, b;
         int time_a = 0;
         int time_b = 0;
         time_a = atoi ( (char *)a->data);
         time_b = atoi ( (char *)b->data);
         return time_a - time_b ;
    for the timestamp secondary, I set that compare function:
              if ((ret = (*sdb)->set_bt_compare(*sdb , compare_login_ts )) != 0){
    Does anyone know how can I make it sorted according?

    Hi,
    The DB->set_bt_compare() is used to compare keys in Btree database. In the callback function, both the DBTs are key, but not data. Please refer to http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/dbset_bt_compare.html.
    If you want any field in the data to be sorted, you might create a secondary index on it and define the compare function as you wish.

  • Data guard synchronization after link down b/w primary and physical standby

    Hi All,
    I have configured data guard on oracle 11gr2 db. Normally switchover between my primary and physical standby happens smoothly and the Apply lag would be zero. Recently We had to test a scenario when the network link between Primary and Physical standby is completely down and Physical standby is isolated completely for more than half an hour.
    When we brought up the link every thing worked smoothly but apply lag started increasing from 0 to around 3 hrs. And then it started reducing to 0. Currently Apply lag and transport lag shows 0.
    But is this normal behaviour of oracle data guard that when the link between primary and physical standby is completely down, It requires 3-4 hrs for resynchronization ??? Even when during isolation, there were very few transactions happend on primary database ??
    Are there any documents available for this scenario??
    Thanks

    Hi, after the link is up, if there were some transactions and produced archive logs it's normal to take some time for resync. To check if 3-4 hours is normal or not, you can repeat the scenario and this time check
    - how many archivelogs does primary produce in this period.
    - after the link is up, does archivelog transfer immediately starts from primary to standby? Is primary able to send these archivelogs parallel?
    - Is there anything wrong with the apply process?
    check primary & standby alert log files, and run this query on standby to check the transport and apply processes:
    SELECT PROCESS, STATUS, THREAD#, SEQUENCE#, BLOCK#, BLOCKS FROM V$MANAGED_STANDBY;

  • Unable to run XPSDrv Driver and Filter Sample

    Hello
    I'm facing to a problem with XPSDrv Driver and Filter Sample on my Windows 7 x64 machine
    I installed Visual Studio Ultimate 2013
    I installed WDK 8.1
    I installed WDK 8.1 Test Pack
    I installed everything from this
    site and I think that's all what I need for building the sample.
    Next I downloaded XPSDrv Driver and Filter Sample from
    http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowshardware/XPSDrv-Driver-and-Filter-980d24bc (btw. there is a step-by-step tutorial how to build the sample)
    1. Open the solution file in Visual Studio 2013 (I opened solution C++\XPSDrvSmpl.sln)
    2. Add all non-binary files (usually located in the \install directory of the sample) to the Package project
         a. In the Solution Explorer, right click
    Driver Files (HERE IS THE PROBLEM, WHAT IS DRIVER FILES ??? SEE PICTURE BELOW)
         b. Select Add, then click Existing Item
         c. Navigate to the location to which you downloaded the sample, and select all the files in the install directory, or the equivalent set of non-binary files such as INFs, INIs, GPD, PPD files, etc.
         d. Click Add
    Look at the picture how does my solution look like:
    Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

    So after I add the InstallPackage, I added all the files in the install folder to the driver files. Than I added all the files of the install folder to the package files in the properties of the driver package. I also added all the dlls of the sample to
    the package files. Then I edited the inf file:
    Change DriverVer to a new date,because the old one is not working.
    And this under the driverver:
    CatalogFile=xdsmpl.cat
    Add this to each Microsoft.xx sections: {GUID}
    Should look like this:
    [Microsoft.NTx86]
    "XPSDrv Sample Driver" = INSTALL_XDSMPL_FILTERS_PRE_VISTA,{GUID}
    [Microsoft.NTia64]
    "XPSDrv Sample Driver" = INSTALL_XDSMPL_FILTERS_PRE_VISTA,{GUID}
    Change the location of the dlls under SourceDisksFiles to 1 or leave it to 2 if you have subfolders for architecures.
    So my inf looks like that:

  • Error message trying to synchronise audio and midi sample rate 42463

    I have a Rode Podcaster mic that is terrific. It has been working fine in GB. suddenly I am getting this when I try to record my podcast:
    'Error message trying to synchronise audio and midi sample rate 42463 recognised. Check conflict between Garageband and external device'
    Has anyone experienced this before? How do I resolve it? I'm still using my Version 6.0.5.
    Apple, is this a way of forcing me to upgrade to V10?

    Just click the icon on each track that stops it acting as a live input. It looks like a sound wave. Only have them clicked orange when using the track to record! I don't know if that will solve your problem!

  • Error while trying to sync audio and MIDI, sample rate 39100 recognised??

    When I press record a message appears saying 'error while trying to syncronise audio and MIDI, sample rate 39100 recognised. Check conflict between garage band and external device. I'm using a Behringer UMC-202 interface. The inputs are selected as the device but no audio is present either.

  • Lack of Primary and Foreign Keys and Efficiency

    I am reverse engineering a Maximo database. I am shock that it does not have Primary or foreign keys define for 590 out of 620 tables.
    My question is does the lack of Primary and Foreign key relationships adversely impact the efficiency of an Oracle database? I think it does IBM techs do not think it does.
    Anyone has the answer?

    does the lack of Primary and Foreign key relationships adversely impact the efficiency of an Oracle database? Not necessarily. There are many large OLTP databases that do not define PKs and FKs.
    It is true that the presence of constraint defintions is used by the optimizer. However,
    what matters is how the application is written and how the optimizer handles it.
    Remember that Oracle Databases have been in production since before constraint definitions were introduced.

  • UltraBeat Drag and Drop Samples (once and for all)

    Hello I have searched through this and other forums for this one.
    I know someone can come through here... I have tried every which way
    of draging and droping aiff, wav, and mp3 samples into the Ultrabeat
    in the Drag ad Drop template provided.
    No Dice. I have no idea what is going on with this hoping someone can spell
    this one out - I think it will read by thousands...
    .::=::.

    Ok 2 discoveries for any one else reading this thread for help.
    I found;
    1. The Load Sample window is in the lower left hand corner of the Ultrabeat window.
    2. That is where you find the load and unload sample menu
    Question I have;
    I can load a sample here from out side of logic ie any sample from the browser
    BUT cannot load from the Apple Loops menu this is part of what may have thrown me off any info on this?
    Also, there seems to be no edit/undo function in ultrabeat can some one confirm this?
    Thanks to you guys and some pokin around I am on my way...
    getting there. if any one has anyhing to add about ultra beat feel free to
    post a link here or add it in maybe we can create a nice thread for other people like me :)-(:
