'Primary Only', I seem to be stuck in it...
I see that other people have had similar problems. I already got caught out by this feature because I didn't know it existed (I'm a newbie, working my way through the manual and a Learn: Aperture video series) - but this time, I do know it exists (thanks to those of you who helped me out) - but I still seem to be stuck in a world of Primary Only.
For example; I flag some images. I look in the Flagged folder. If I select all images and then unclick one flag, they should all unclick - but they don't.
I was hoping to apply Auto Enhance to the entire contents of a project, but it only acts on one image although I have all selected. One image always has a stronger white line around it than the others.
I've seen suggestions like try rebuilding libraries, consistency check, etc. But before I start all that - am I missing something? As a newbie, I may be doing something head-slappingly dumb... (and I have a head cold, so I may be learning even more slowly than usual).

The "most selected" Image in a group of selected Images has a thicker border. The User Manual refers to these as the Primary Selection (also here):

The most important image in an image selection. Adjustments are applied only to the primary selection in an image selection. The primary selection is identified by a thicker white border. There can be only one primary selection in an image selection.
In general, actions issued via the Inspector (on either the Adjustments tab or the Info tab) are applied to the Primary Selection. Actions made any other way -- by menu (from the menu bar or from a context-sensitive menu), by keyboard shortcut, by the Control Bar, by the Tool Strip, by dragging Keywords, etc. -- are applied to all selected items.

Primary Only mode overrides this behavior for all actions. "Primary Only" restricts the items acted on to only the single Primary Selection. (This mode should be named Primary Selection Only.)

I'm running the Aperture Trial on my new Macbook Pro with Leopard pre-installed. Seeing the Aperture trial version in my apps folder, I decided to give it a spin on some of my RAW images that I've been using Bridge to organize. But I'm getting pretty frustrated because, while I generally like the program, I can't perform adjustments on more than one image at once. The "Primary Only" toggle seems to not be working. I can see the selection outlines change when I press S or pick it from the edit menu. But no matter what I do I can only seem to adjust one image at once.
Any ideas?Actually, it does move metadata. It'll move almost any settings you've made to the image you lift from including RAW fine tuning, adjustments, ratings and any IPTC or custom metadata you've added. I hadn't actually noticed that the contextual menu says metadata (admittedly confusing), as I always use the keyboard shortcut 'O' or the 'Lift Tool' button on the toolbar.
Have you watched the videos at http://www.apple.com/aperture/tips/ including the one on the lift-n-stamp tool?

How do I get my itunes to recognize my account, it seems to be stuck on my friend account even when my ID show up as sign in, only when I try to update an App, that my friend account appear. I try to reset it on the computer and the phone itself, but no luck. Please advise

The Touch Copy third party software for PC's is the way to go it seems and although the demo is free, if you have over 100 songs then it costs £15 to buy the software which seems not a lot to pay for peace of mind. and restoring your iTunes library back to how it was.

I have been downloading Mountain Lion for MAC for over 4 hrs. and it seems to be stuck about 2/3 of the way through. I have a I mac that is only 2 yrs old has 8 GB memory and I updated all software, checked utilitie for any disc repairs andbacked up everything before I started this process. Can someone tell me what to do Right now the version is OSX 10.6.8.
Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off. -

Why does my iphoto seem to get "stuck" a lot of the times when I try to exit it to the point where I have to "force quit" it and how do I fix the problem that causes it?
With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
does this only happen when you try to quit iPhoto?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Changing Primary only as default setting?
Is there any way to change the default setting so that it's not on Primary only by when opening Aperture? I find this really annoying and would rather toggle this setting when needed, rather than the other way around.
Thanks for any advice!Hmmm...wondering if there is something corrupt with my Aperture install then because I leave it off, yet everytime I open the program, it's turned on. Also, my browser window seems to have a mind of it's own as well...I will leave it on a certain file that I am working on close the application and reopen and it will be on a different file or will be in a different view mode altogether.

I seem to be stuck on the public beta 2. Under the update tab there is an update for OS X Yosemite Beta 2. When I click on it to update it nothing happens. If i try to download the official update in the app store it says "OS X v10.10 is already installed on this computer. Use the Updates page to install the 10.10 update or if you would like to download the full OS X installer click Continue." I don't have an option to click continue. theres an "ok" button but it only closes the popup. I feel like i need to do a clean install of Yosemite but i can't even download the installer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The clock on my iPad seems to be stuck ? Could this have anything to do with me not being able to connect with FaceTime ?
In order to backup to iCloud the iPad must be plugged into a power source, connected to WiFi and locked - meaning that it must be asleep - or with the lock screen only visible. This is for automatic backups.
If the iPad is not responding at all to any user input, try restarting it or resetting it and see if you can take the steps necessary to back up. You can initiate the backup manually as well.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
While updating I was asked for a "Rescue Email". I entered my email address but when I pushed "Next", I cannot advance. I seem to be stuck at this level. Suggestions?
I can't answer why you are not able to connect to WiFi but I can tell you to try the basic things, turn WiFi off and on again, restart your iPad, reset network settings, reboot your router, forget your WiFi network and try again .....
The issue with the email is probably a password issue. Make sure that your password is entered in the incoming mail server setting and in the outgoing mail server setting as well. The outgoing server setting can be accessed by tapping on the SMTP under the Outgoing Mail Server Setting and then tapping the smtp.comcast.net in the next window under the Primary Server Setting.
The outgoing mail server setting will be in the first window when you tap on the Comcast account in the Mail settings.

My gradient tool seems to be stuck on all black- help? (Photoshop CS6)
I usually use my gradient tool from black to transparent (linear) when masking the edges of my photos. It just provides a really nice gradual fade and doesn't require me toiling over it with the brush tool.
As of last week, my gradient tool seems to be stuck on all black, regardless of what layer I select or how many times I select the black to transparent option. I've tried it from white to transparent, as well, and this resulted in the gradient turning full white. It just selects the foreground color. I can't even get it to fade from orange to red (if I wanted it to do that)!
Here is a snapshot of it: (not that it helps, really) Any suggestions? Yes, I've restarted my program and computer on numerous occasions. I've also checked my channels, and they are selected correctly.It seems to only be that way on the gradients that deal with transparencies (didn't notice that before).

Primary Only vs. editing metadata?
I'm working with the Aperture 2.1 trial.
The manual says: "Primary setting A Viewer setting in Aperture that limits metadata changes to only the primary selection in a multiple-image selection."
Whether or not "Primary Only" is checked, changes I make in the metadata panel or metadata HUD are only applying to the primary selection.
(I realize that to make some advanced edits, I should use Batch Change... But for simple, homogenous edits, I should be able to use the metadata inspector.)

This is where Metadata Presets shine. At the very least you should have one for copyright info. I apply that one on import.
In Aperture, how would I remove a keyword from multiple images at once, while living their existing (possibly heterogenous set) keywords in place?
Not something I do often, but I would do it it to one image then Lift and Stamp it to the others. Someone may know a more elegant way.

These particular computers actually come directly from the vendor, so there generally is a longer processing time while we send them the order and they confirm they can fulfill it. My Muse site has a list of various forms to download. The list seems to get stuck on different titles, so you can't get to the form that you need.
