Primavera P6 Migrate database on standalone installation

I moved a user to a new computer but now I need to get the database to the new computer. What is the process? Is it as easy as Export and then Import?

What is the P6 version? What is the db engine being used?

Primavera P6 migrating Database to another instance with migrate.sh

I want to migrate an existing Primavera P6 Database to another instance.
What I have done so far.
I fully backed up the database with expdp and impdp, but I get an error while trying to connect with admuser (maybe because its not existing).
So I did not take more time in that.
Later I wanted to use the migrate.sh Tool which looked not that hard to do, because it only needs the credentials and Database connection Information.
The Database is large, that means over 14GB so I tried several times and the migrate.sh tool gives me after hours SQLExceptions.
So what should be the Problem?
Maybe the session time?
How to change?

Ok I will do the impdp import.
I found an db script: orpm_create_users.sql which will do the creation of all users.
But before I do that I got an error in the migrate.sh which says:
"Error in Run SQL Script orpm_ins_aux.sql : DatabaseToolException (ORA-02298: cannot validate (ADMUSER.FK_UPLIST_USESSION) - parent keys not found)
Do somebody has an idea for that?
I will post my impdp import after Ive done it...

Starting the database in standalone installation.

hello all,
In my office server I cannot access oracle tables via SQL * plus unless I start the database via the server manager utility, ie, svrmgrl> startup etc.
However, in my stand alone home machine I have installed oracle 9i. The database, it seems is automatically started when the machine is booting. I have searched for the svrmgrl/svrmgr30/svrmgr80 utilities, but in vain.
In this scenario, how can i manually start and shutdown the database in my stand alone installation.
Can any body help me...?

Hi,
which os and oracle version you are using ? i guess it's windows 2000 server anyway if my guess is right then start - setting - ctlpanel - adminstrative tools - service - open and right click and to the service choose properties and then choose manual in startup mode. you can also create a service for that ..
first delete the service for your db
oradim -delete -sid name of the service
now create the service with the same name
oradim -new -sid name of the service which you delte -startmode manual.

Check the installation option that you chose.
Not all of the options will install a database.
P.S.
I have a similar problem on NT.
Where I am able to access the database after the 8i Enterprise
Install. I can not access the database from a Developer or
Designer Installation. I am trying to run these tools locally.
How do I configure NET8 to access the local 8i Database?
Any ideas??

SSO and Forms/Reports Standalone Installation

we have different Oracle AS as forms/reports standalone installations in our company.
SSO_FORMSID and GROUP_DN were configured during the OracleAS installation. So you have during installation to define OID parameters (host, port). But that input is only required within complete application server installation.
In standalon installation you cannot define OID setting.
But in formsConfig.properties and formsweb.cfg placeholder for SSO are available.
So it is possible to use standalone forms with SSO. And how can I do that.
I understand that I have to define SSO_FORMSID for application server and same ID I have to register in OID. But how?1

The SSO information is included in those files because they are standard files across all installation types. Without the full installation (Infrastructure and Middle Tier) you cannot use SSO.

Standalone Installer Not allowing install of Remote Server Admin Tools

I am trying to download the Windows 10 Technical Preview Remote Server Administration Tools since I need a way to quickly access Active Directory for my company. However whenever I attempt to download the file WindowsTH-KB2693643-x64.msu I
get an this error message:
Windows Update Standalone Installer: The update is not applicable to your computer.
I do have a 64 bit OS as well as Windows 10 Technical Preview 9926 currently running. So I am not sure as to the reason that I am getting this error. Any tips or clues would greatly help and be appreciated.

I have a procedure in which tables are invoked using Database links.
Now I have created a business service which uses this procedure. However I am getting below error

Check you environmental variables related to hyperion
Go to control panel->system->system properties->advance->environmental variables. or right clik on my computer >advanced>->environmental variables
You should have something like this C:\Hyperion............... in your classpath variable.
Also do check your Essbase installation logs

Hello,
We have a notification process (on disabled user) in OIM that needs to connect to a schema in another instance to check some information before the notification is sent out.
We have OIM in an instance A and the other schema lives in the instance B. We created a database link from A to B, some synonyms, and grant the right permissions for OIM to select the tables in the schema on instance B.
We can login to OIM using SQL Developer and execute the query without any problems.
However, when the query is executed in the Disable User process task, we got the error:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-24777: use of non-migratable database link not allowed
We tried to create a view in OIM that is similar to the one that lives in the schema in instance B. However, the same error exists.
How can we work around this error?

ORA-24777: use of non-migratable database link not allowed
Cause: The transaction, which needs to be migratable between sessions, tried to access a remote database from a non-multi threaded server process.
Action: Perform the work in the local database or open a connection to the remote database from the client. If multi threaded server option is installed, connect to the Oracle instance through the dispatcher.

I've gotten past this by creating the dblink as SHARED.
The SQL is
CREATE SHARED DATABASE LINK "yourlink"
CONNECT TO "dbuser" IDENTIFIED BY "dbuserpassword"
AUTHENTICATED BY "dbuser" IDENTIFIED BY "dbuserpassword"
USING 'databasename';
note the quote character use.
You can also use SQL Developer to adjust this.
This does depend on shared database connections between your db's.
