Prime 2.1 and Nexus netflow

I have installed Prime 2.1 for evaluation while waiting on licenses.     I have Netflow working from my 2921 and 3945 routers but cannot get the Nexus 7010's to work.     Nexus defaults to version 9, but I do not see any templates in 2.1 for version 9.      I set the Nexus exporter to be version 5 but still see nothing.     Also, the Nexus is communicating on the mgmt port to the Prime 2.1 infrastructure.  Does anyone have this working?

Yes, all device packages are installed (including 7.0) and the Pi 2.1.2 patch.

    Hello Jason,
Thank you very much for welcoming me to your expert discussion :) I feel to be in the right place, at the right time. Thank you also for answering question beyond your scope here, much appreciated. The information received will help me to go further as such I have submitted a 5 start rating for your first reply.
That sounds promising about the LMS part so yes, I stay tuned and wait patiently.
Ok, now let’s revert to the actual topic discussed here. Cisco Prime Service Catalog and Process Orchestrator solutions I have briefly read up on this on CCO (where elseJ) and picked out the following quote
---- Quote from the Cisco Prime Service Catalog Data Sheet
Today’s end users want self-service and easy access to IT tools and services.
Simultaneously, organizations are seeking ways to extend their cloud management
platforms beyond self-service delivery of virtual machines and infrastructure resources
while increasing their use of cloud-based solutions to enhance business agility and effectiveness.
Cisco Prime™ Service Catalog offers tremendous benefits to organizations that want to unify the ways in
which all types of IT services are ordered and fulfilled, not just infrastructure requests
    ---- un quote ---
I try to understand what (at high level of course) happens in the back ground when an order is raised and which vendor solution your product can interact with.
As mentioned in the quoted text, this service catalogue goes beyond the standard infrastructure.
Let’s say, a user wants to deploy a new email services, or in your example,  extends or create a new web-portal (i.e. for HR to view and manage holiday, staff absence and benefits).
Your solution will need to interact somehow with the 3rd party vendor application that is capable building such portal I believe.
Without disclosing to many information, I assume the portal is linked to backend VM,s that spin up requested resources (and more magic of course). Perhaps I am mixing this up with another cisco product where a user can go on the portal and spin up virtual Firewalls, virtual Routers can be provisioned in now time.
Out if interest; Is this product also known as Mozart? (project code within Cisco?)
    I hope query is ok.
    Best wishes
    Markus

  • Prime 1.3 and WLC 7.6 Can I push guest accounts?

    Hi all
My Customer needs to update the WLC to 7.6 (from 7.4) due to 3700 APs, but does not use the ac or other new features (yet).

  • Prime Fulfillment 6 AND LMS 4.2 on single Solaris 10 server?

Is it possible to easily operate both Prime Fulfillment 6 AND LMS 4 on single Solaris 10 server?

They were not tested together, and I recommend they not be installed on the same zone instance (due to potential conflicts).  Now, if you're certain you have a server that can accommodate both suites (in terms of resources), create separate zones for each suite.  This will eliminate the conflict possibility while still giving you one overall physical machine to manage.

  • Prime 2.0 and IPS

    Hi Guys
Can integrate my Ciso IPS to the Cisco Prime 2.0 and How....
    thanks

    Not in any meaningful way.
If you have a Cisco IPS appliance (or IPS module in an ASA), it can be managed either via IPS Device Manager (IDM), IPS Manager Express (IME) or Cisco Security Manager (CSM).
Newer ASA CX modules with IPS service are managed via PRSM.
Of course Cisco Sourcefire IPS sensors are managed via Defense Center.

  • Skype not connecting Moto G and Nexus 4 in ANDROI...

I have Moto G 2nd Gen and Nexus 4 device with latest Android 5.0.2. I donwloaded Skype on both devices yesterday and installed them. Then I opened two new skype accounts and tried making a call from one device to other. My wife was on the other device. Neither a normal call or a video call was going. Skype wasnt connecting at all. The phone from where I was making call was ringing but not the phone receiving call. Can somebody please help.

Unfortunately the truth is prepaid support is not very well trained and was
    not much help
My issue was solved ultimately not by prepaid support but upper level
support in NJ (or NY, not sure).
The problem was that my line was provisioned as having a 1X device (which I
never had). So even though we tried switching the device to an iPhone and
reprogramming it didn't matter. Any incoming MMS were simply discarded by
the system and all I would get were the silent SMS messages that ping my
phone to check the MMS server, but nothing was held to be retrieved.
If you are on VZW (pre or post paid) and having this problem, ask support
to check the "Mobile Type" and ensure its not set to 1X.

  • WS-X6848-SFP module are supported with LMS Prime 4.1 and 4.2

    Hi,
I would like to know if WS-X6848-SFP modules are supported with LMS Prime 4.1 and 4.2.
    Thanks for your help,
    SILVIA

It looks like they just added the WS-X6848-TX variant with the latest C6000IOS CiscoView package update (Version 37, dated 31 July 2012 - readme)
I'd expect the -SFP variant should be in the next update.
You should open a TAC case to make sure that it's brought to the attention of the dev team if they aren't already working on it. One of the tenets of Cisco Prime LMS is "Day 1 support" of new devices.

  • Adapter-fex Supported VICs and Nexus Switches

    HI,
I am thinking of using C220M4 in standalone mode. I have been reading about adapter-fex and I am wondering which Cisco VIC supports adapter-fex and which Nexus Switch will support adapter-fex.
I am thinking of using a VIC1225 and Nexus 3000.
    Thanks.

I believe that adaptor fex is supported only with Nexus 5k and N2k:

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and Nexus 5548, SSH credentials fail

    Hi,
I'm having problem getting the Prime Infrastructure 2.0 to login with SSH to a Nexus 5548 to do an inventory. I get "Wrong Telnet/SSH credentials". But when I use the same credentials from another SSH-client it works fine. I also tested to SSH from the console of the Prime-server and that also works fine.
    Any ideas???
    Regards,
    Stefan Lindkvist

I have PI 2.0 working against Nexus 5k's in two different installations. See below for an example (click to enlarge).
Have you put in an entry in both the login and enable fields (even though they are not separately required when logging in directly)?

  • Issue with Prime Infra 2.1.1 and Nexus 7K

We have recently migrated from our NCS to Prime Infra 2.1.1. Since doing this we have started to import or switching gear into PI in addition to our WLC and MSE appliances. Discovery and inventory of the 3750X and 4500-X switches has been without issue. When we point PI 2.1.1 to a Nexus 7K running a VDC, the switch discovers as a Nexus 9500 instead of a 7K. Anyone else seen this happen? Any work arounds or suggestion on what might be going on? My thought was its discovering a VDC on the 7K and its not the admin VDC. That said our Admin VDC is not configured for SNMP and  we wanted to discover the VDC's that we actually use for client traffic. I should note we have loaded the lastest available device pack to PI as well.
Please advise - any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

We ran a  discovery of all our Nexus switching last night. Once we did that the patter was easy to see. Any 9 or 10 slot Nexus was fine, any 4-slot Nexus appears as a Nexus 9500 instead of a 7K. I checked the compatibility matrix (latest release through DP 6.0) and support for the 9/10/18 slot is listed. No mention of support for the 4 slot. I believe that is our issue.

NetFlow export is also supported on other Cisco switches when using a NetFlow Feature Card (NFFC) or NFFC II and the Route Switch Module (RSM), or Route Switch Feature Card (RSFC). However, check whether version 5 is supported, as most switches export version 7 by default.
You can check the below steps to diagnose the issue::
To verify that NetFlow is exported from a device to PI, follow the steps below:
    1)    Browse to Administration > Data Sources page. Check the value in column ‘Last Active Time’  for the ‘Device Data Sources’ table. If the table is empty or  the value does not represent recent time, then
it is possible that the device is not exporting NetFlow or PI Assurance license is not applied / expired.
    2)    Login to PI console ( via SSH) as root user and run the command:
                    netstat –an | grep 9991 – Output of this should be like :  udp        0      0 :::9991         :::*
Check the firewall settings on PI server using the command: firewall -L
    1)    Check the configuration on an IOS / IOS –XE device. Run the commands
    a)    sh running-config | inc destination
    1)    This should list the IP address of the PI SERVER ( along with other outputs if any)
    b)    sh running-config | inc 9991
    1)    This should list at least one entry.
    c)    If the above are fine, then verify that the flow monitor, flow exporter and the flow records are correctly configured on the device.
Refer to the URLs below to configure NetFlow export.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure not detecting Nexus VLANs

    Hello,
we recently added 2 Nexus 5010 to our prime Infrastructure 2.0.
Once synchronization is completed, the device shows as Managed.
When looking through the device details, everything seems to be ok, just when looking into the VLANs tab, it says:
    "none detected".
In fact, there are quite a lot of vlans on this device.
Did anyone have a similar problem?
    Thanks,
    Jörg

    Hi Jorg,
I have checked and confirmed that Unfortunately  this feature is not supported  for NEXUS . I mean the VLAN information.
and I think "port-channels" are also not supported.
    Thanks-

  • 3750 and Nexus 5548UP Support

I am working on a project that was handed down and several different engineers got their hands on.  The project is (or should have been) a simple data storage/center.  Fixing all the design problems has left me with very little time to research the security folks issues and I need help.
We are using Cisco Nexus 5548UP for our data center core and distribution/routing to encryptors connecting our remote sites which use Cisco 3750X series switches.  The Nexus is running NOS 5.2(1)N1(4) and the 3750s use 12.2(55) IP base.
    These are our particular issues:
    1)  For management and monitoring, what would be a good product to use to support this?  If Cisco Prime Infrastructure, what ports would need to be allowed/opened through firewalls/ACLs (SNMP, syslog, etc)?
    2)  For switch login, the network security folks are reluctant to use TACACS and want to push for LDAP instead.  Using Active Directory, is there any way to get the Cisco Nexus 5548UP and Cisco 3750Xs talking to Active Directory?  I've found both 'yes' and 'no' answers online and am not sure.  Do I need to use a different NOS and/or IOS?  Are there specific directions somewhere?  Or is it not possible?
    3)  Without TACACS, is there any way to implement command logging to a syslog server on the Nexus?  On the 3750s, I make the following changes and all commands are relayed to our syslog server:
    Enable
    Configure terminal
    Archive
    Log config
    Logging enable
    Logging size 500
    Hidekeys
    Notify syslog
    End
Is there anything similar for the Nexus?
    4)  In conjunction with #3, we need to be able to log each login attempt (success and failure) to a syslog server on the Nexus.  On the 3750, using the "login on-[failure/success] log", it is can setup easy enough.  On the Nexus, I haven't been able to find anything similar.  I can't find any instructions on setting this up on the Nexus, though.
    5)  What IOS/NOS do we need to use to be able to lock out users after 3 failed logins (again, without using TACACS)?
If you need more information, please ask.
    V/R,
    Chris

The LRM is s special case transceiver which supports 10 Gbps over older FDDI grade multimode fiber when used with a mode conditioning patch cord. It is not supported on the Nexus 5548UP.
The SFP-10G-LR is used with single mode fiber for spans up to 10 km in length. It is supported on the 5548UP (and most every platform of Cisco's that takes SFPs).
Please see the product data sheet here.

  • Generate Prime Interface Availability and Utilization Report for unified APs

    Hi,
I´m trying to generate interface availability and interface utilization report for unified APs on Prime Infrastructure 2.0, but it doesn´t display any information. I have created device health and interface health templates under desing/Monitor configuration/My templates and deployed under Deploy/Monitoring deployment, but it still don´t show any information,
    thaks for your help.

    Hi Alejandro,
Did you solve this problem? Or is it a bug?
I face the some issue with you, I just run "Report/Report Launch Pad/Deivce/Interface Utilization"
and then I create a report for interface utilization.
But it display nothing when the report run finished.
I ask some guys in this forum, they said maybe it's a PI2.1 bug.

  • Aaa New format configuation on IOS and Nexus-OS based devices ?

    Dear all,
I have been working on an assignment to get our TACACs servers  standardized and to change the old format  aaa configs to the new  standard before the old format gets deprecated.
I have many multiple IOS based model devices such as 2350, 2821,  3650,   Firewalls, Nexus based 3048s 3064s  and 7010s
However,   I have tried the new format on both the IOS based 2350s and also on  the Nexus based 3048s which has error on both cases
our plan is to move to the new style of aaa configuration and at  least to have one standard format configuration for IOS based devices  and one other standard format for Nexus based devices.
•Our tacacs appliances are crashing on AD authentication on a fairly  regular basis. And I was wondering as to where to get resource on  Cisco.com to see if we are on the latest version. Can you point me  resource where I can find the latest version so that I will be able to  compare it with what we have
Also if you have a forum recommendation for me to get help on this and other related staff that will be a huge help.
probably we might need to upgrade our IOS for example the below new  aaa config format didn’t work?  when I tried it on 2350 based on  flash:/c2350-lanlite-mz.122-46.EY/c2350-lanlite-mz.122-46 version any  suggestion here?
I have attached the sample config I have been trying to use-- If you have a better configuration suggestion let me know? Thanks a million for the help!

Yes, the focus with ML is certainly on trying to get people who have iOS devices to switch to using Apple computers.
For long-time devotees of OS X like us, there's not much in it. Snow Leopard was still a far more versatile and more widely compatible OS than either 10.7 or 10.8. If you're on 10.6.8. I would think twice about upgrading.
However, I think if you're on 10.7 already, it's worth upgrading to 10.8, simply because ML seems to be more stable and more refined. They have fixed some of the annoying things in Lion (like you can now put Devices back to the top of the Finder sidebar, Resume is turned off by default, 'Save As' has been resurrected, Launchpad actually has a filter bar etc etc.). Some of the apps are better too - some nice new features in Preview for editing and Safari has an all-in-one address/search bar).
More features are advertised explained here: http://www.apple.com/osx/whats-new/features.html
