Prime Infrastructure 1.3. No 'Configure' Menu??

Hi all,
We're migrating from Cisco WCS 7.0 to Prime Infrastructure 1.3. We have the server up, and the web interface all set, however, a rather large issue is there's no longer a "Configure" menu, and we can't add our wireless controllers in because all of the documentation says to do "Configure -> Add Controller".
I already verified that my user accound has admin rights, and therefore access to that menu in the user settings.
Am I missing something extremely obvious? Thank you much,
Jim

Try changing your menus from classic to life cycle view. The selection is done under your user login name on the top right.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3, Mail Configuration

    Hi,
I have a Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 and I want to set up the mail. When I test it,  I get this error:
Failed  to send mail to primary SMTP server. Failed to send mail to secondary  SMTP server. Please make sure that you save mail configuration by  hitting 'Save' button.
I have the ip  address, and the username and password. Do I need to create a new buzon  for the prime? because by default the "From" field appears with
    [email protected]
    Thanks!!

Some extra info that has just come to my attention.  At one point we were running (we're actually still running) CiscoWorks with LMS3.2 and Cisco NCS 1.x.  I merged these two things together into Cisco Prime Infrastructure (upgraded the licensing to get 450 lifecycle licenses to cover the APs + all of the devices coming from LMS3.2).  I followed all of the documented procedures to upgrade the NCS appliance to Prime Infrastructure.  But when I type "show application" from the CLI of the NCS appliance (now the Prime Infrastructure appliance) I see this:
    HQ-NCS1/admin# show application
NCS             Cisco Prime Network Control System
Is that normal?  Maybe this is my problem.  Should this output list "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" instead of (or in addtion to) Cisco Prime Network Control System?  When I login to the GUI it shows "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" and the GUI has changed considerably (menus are different) so I'm assuming that the application upgrades I launched from the CLI to go to Prime Infrastructure worked fine.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure release 2.1 configuration archiving on CISCO WiSM2

    Hi all,
Just wondering Cisco Prime Infrastructure  release 2-1 support configuration archiving on CISCO WiSM2?
CISCO  release 2.0 mentioned that it doesn't support configuration archiving for WiSM2 but release 2.1 doesn't mention anything on it.
    Please assist.

No, it is not supported even for PI 2.1

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Device Configurations

We use PI 2.0 physical appliance.
Is it possible to save a shadow copy of the configs so that you get config in filesystem?
We want to save the configs to an external server.
Actually we are using this feature in LMS.
    Regards

    Hi,
unfotunately this feature is not avaiable so far an Enhancement request is already filed to track this issue:
CSCug82578    Prime Infrastructure should maintain archive shadow directory like LMS

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.1. Configuration template deploy problem.

Hello! I have a problem with the CLI template deployment on Cisco Prime. PI version is 2.1.
There is the following template, which contains:
    logging on
    logging 10.10.10.10
When I try to deploy it on the router 1800 IOS Version 12.3(14)T7 all is going well and the report I get the following:
    Device
    Status
    Transcript
    10.5.5.1
    Success
configlet: logging on logging 10.10.10.10 response: terminal width 0 config t logging on logging 10.10.10.10
But, when I try to deploy the same template on the router 3825 IOS Version 15.1(4)M5, the system issues the following error:
    Device
    Status
    Transcript
    10.5.5.2
    Failed
Error : Exception while sending interactive commands to device, Expect timeout: Failed to match expected device output due to Expect timeout current timeout 60000. In what may be the reason that Prime cannot deploy the configuration on IOS version 15.1?
    Thank you!

Good day! Yes, maybe we have the same BUG
    https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCub57283
but in the status written that it is Fixed and applies to releases 1.2 and 2.0, but we used version 2.1.

  • Prime Infrastructure 1.3 menu and dashboard customizing (via TACACS)

    Hi there
I know the possibilities of virtual domains and group tasks in Prime Infrastructure. In this case, we have a PI 1.3 and I would like to ask, if someone know if there are ways to customize the following parts of PI:
    1. Define customized templates on PI itself (show or hide different dashlets) and apply them via a TACACS+ attribute?
    2. Show or hide specific submenu items on a menu in the lifecycle theme (for example, I would like to hide the submenu Wireless Configuration under Design)?
In my opinion, I think this is not possible, but I want to get sure about it.
Thanks in advance and best regards
    Dominic

    Hi Dominic,
1.customizing template is possible ,however "show or hide different dashlet is not possible.
when you create a new dashboard and add new dashlet into it , this will be specific to the use Only.
2.Unfortunately it is also not possible.
    Thanks-

  • Configure the syslog of ASA 5512-X for display on Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1

Hi, I'm working on implementing the Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 and want to display the syslog about ASA5512-X with Software Version 9.2.
What would be the procedure for configuring?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Enable "logging host x.x.x.x "  command to enable logging
    check the below link:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa91/configuration/general/asa_91_general_config/monitor_syslog.html#68764
FYI: Prime Infrastructure support only SEV 0,1,2 syslogs as of now.
Operate > alarm and events > syslogs
    Thanks-

  • Prime InfraStructure 2.2 Configuration Template error

    Hi All,
I'm facing Configuration template error . I can add the CLI template then after i press on Deploy i get error message  and this is happening with all the CLI templates  . ( also Attached the error )
    The error message : "
Template Deployment- Prepare and schedule : HA With Virtual IP
There was an error while parsing and rendering the content. (updateLeftTreeOnce is not defined )
The HA With Virtual IP Template Body as below :
    logging 10.30.2.252
    ip access-list standard VTY_ACCESS
    no deny any log
    permit 10.30.2.252
    deny any log

We are facing the exact same issue. Here are the version :
    Cisco Prime Infrastructure
    Version : 2.2.0
    Build : 2.2.0.0.158
We tried restarting the NCS services, but it doesn't help. We have the issue on differents PC and browsers. Users told me they got the issue before but it disappeared by itself. We will open a case about it.

  • Prime Infrastructure Device Configuration

I recently installed Prime Infrastructure to replace LMS and NCS, but I've encountered an issue with changing device settings.   I had a controller set up to pull configs with no issue, but I had to change the IP to move it to a different VLAN ("it" meaning the controller).   After I changed the IP, the device showed that it was unavailable in the device/operation dashboard in Prime INF, as expected.
Now, I can't find a way to change the IP address of the controller in any way, shape or form.   It allows me to change everything else, but not the IP address.   The only option I have is to delete the object and add a new one, which will remove access to the saved configurations.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or that it's defective by design, but if you can't change the management interface IP for a device without adding a new one, you've got a bit of a problem.

    That directory doesn't exist
    ade # ls -al /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma/shadow
ls: /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma/shadow: No such file or directory
    ade #
    ade # ls -al /var/adm/
ls: /var/adm/: No such file or directory
I guess the configs are not in individual files but within the database

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure automatic configuration Archieve

    Hi all,
I installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure and I note that it make configuration archieving for all devices on it with different date.
I need to know based on what it selects the date on which it take the archieving of configuration (note that it takes archieving of all boxes on different dates) ??
    thanks,
    Best Regards.

    Hi Mohamed,
The configuration archive will run every day, however if there is no change between today's configuration and the previous check, there is no point in archiving it again.
    Best regards,
    Vlad

  • Getting past "Fetch VLAN configuration - Command failed" errors in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 - How?

I've got a handful of devices in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 which show up in the "Archive Failed Devices" view.  The "Failure Reason" is some variation of "Fetch VLAN configuration - Command failed" sometimes including "TELNET: Failed to establish TELNET connection to x.x.x.x".  What does this mean?  How do I overcome this?  In all cases, the device is configured to use SSH and has valid SSH credentials.  In all cases, I can SSH from the command line of the NCS appliance to the devices listed in the "Archive Failed Devices" view.

    Hi
I was able to fix the "Fetch VLAN configuration - Command failed" by allowing tftp from the device to PI server in firewall. See if this can help.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 configuration export

    Hello,
I have a question about Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2.
Is it possible to export all the configurations every day automatically in .cfg format to an external
server (preferably SCP or SFTP). Or any other way to export all the saved configurations from
the database automatically in .cfg format

    You're welcome.
    Please note the following update:
You can export the configurations from the database via a manual process - you could probably script it and kick it off via cron if you are handy with that sort of thing.
The export process is explained in a post by Vinod Arya in the Prime Infrastructure Ask the Expert thread.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure Scheduled Configuration Archive not executing

We have a deployment of Cisco Prime Infrastrcuture 1.3 (1.3.0.20).
Configuration Archive is a feature that collects and archives the device configurations i.e. cisco switches.
You have an option to schedule this to run, say daily, weekly etc. Once scheduled you can see it in the "Jobs Dashboard" and with the "next start time" of what you configured. I have a situation whereby  the time it is suppose to start - it doesnt - howevere flags the job as a "success". Not newe device configurations are archived and the "next start time" remain the same. Its almost like it is failing to execute, but some other process under the hood thinks that it was been executed correctly?
Any ideas or experience that could help here would be appreciated!

  • Configuration Change Audit Report in Prime Infrastructure 2.1

Is there any plan to implement a Configuration Change Audit report in future releases of Prime Infrastructure (ie. 2.2)?  When I go into the Reporting area and run a Change Audit report under the Compliance section it doesn't give me any information in regards to configuration changes, only inventory changes.  There are managers who would like the ability to receive an e-mailed report of configuration changes within a 24 hours period.  Currently the only way I can tell that you can get this information is by logging into Cisco Prime and going to Network Audit under Operation / Device Work Center.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Configuration Change Management (with Baseline Compliance reporting) is projected for the next release after 2.2. As of now that's projected to be ca. April 2015.
On a side note, last I heard, 2.2 should be out in the next couple of weeks.
