Prime Infrastructure 2.1 ASA5580- Security Context Partial Collection Failure

I am attempting to add my ASAs into prime but get stuck almost instantly after adding the new device. Prime is able to get the device name and Device type (Cisco ASA-5580 Adaptive Security Appliance Security Context) Admin status shows up as Managed but Inventory Collection Status shows up as "Partial Collection Failure" For more detail it says "feature_image_firewall Unexpected error. See the log file inventory.log for details."
The only failure in inventory.log I could find was
[2014-09-26 12:40:01,868] [ICE Service[ 1]Thread: 20] [inventory] [ERROR] - 192.168.0.19 For device id: 2848866 Feature = feature_image_firewall and Procedure = ImageFireWal failed in time 45 with the following error and continuing with other features: com.cisco.nm.expression.function.FunctionException: <palError><deviceId>2848866</deviceId><code>HANDLER_ERROR</code><message>Error while trying to run handler. As far as the ASA config goes:
snmp-server enable
snmp-server host management 192.168.10.27 community c!$c0PR!me version 2c
logging enable
logging history 7
snmp-server enable traps
The above config works on our ASA5520s except I still haven't set up the traps right because there isn't any useful information on those devices so I am not sure what I need to change?

My ASA is using DH 1.
For 9.2(1) I read this in the release notes.
Note The ASA 5510, ASA 5520, ASA 5540, ASA 5550, and ASA 5580 are not supported in this release or later. ASA Version 9.1 was the final release for these models.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0: Inventory Collection - Partial Collection Failure on 2 of 4 VSS WS-C6509-E

    Hello,
I've got a strange behaviour regarding the inventory collection for 2 of 4 virtual switching systems.
That means the inventory collection for two VSS is succesfull (inventory collections status = Completed) for the other two systems it is not, see attachments.
The device credentials like SNMP-RW, SSH acces are OK. I've already tried to increase SNMP timout and retries as well as telnet/ssh timout without success
All 4 systems are identical regarding hardware model and software vesion.
    HW: WS-C6509-E
    SW: 12.2(33)SXJ3
    Any ideas or suggestions?

  • Cisco Prime 2.1- Partial collection failure

    Dear Experts,
We are seeing many devices (around 1000+ devices) showing as "partial collection failure". We found this coz of not updated Telnet/SSH Cli username and password. So instead of editing each and every device, is there any way to select all devices and update cli credentials in one shot..?
If someone helps me this option, it will be so helpful.

    Hi ,
Other way is to export all the devices , Edit it and then Import it.
Operate >device workcenter >   EXPORT device \ BULK IMPORT

    Hi there,
I get "Partial Collection Failure" in the inventory collection status in Prime Infrastructure for all my Nexus 5548UP (8 devices).

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2: Catalyst 2960X-24TS-LL Switch Collection Failure

    Hello,
I've Upgraded Prime Infrastructure to Version 2.2.0.0.158. Now our Catalyst 2960X-24TS-LL switches show an error message, when they are added to the inventory. The error is as follows:
Partial Collection Failure; Collection Status : Failed feature(s).
The 2960X-24TS-LL is listed under the supported devices list and other switches (e.g. WS-C2960X-48FPS-L) got inventorized without any problems.
Did anybody see this issue and can tell me how to solve it.
    - Benjamin

     - Getting that one too, since running 2.2 (Failed Features) ; suggest opening a TAC case.

  • Prime Infrastructure issues with collection, dscp, mos, etc

We have a virtual Prime Infrastructure appliance installed.  It currently shows collection status managed with warnings for several devices, i.e. Nexus 7k's, cat 3750x. cat 3850x.  It is not all stacks though, most are collected accurately only a few are not showing up.
All four of my Nexus 7k's are not collected accurately.
Also when I goto Detail/Voice-video dashboards,  I do not get any MOS, DSCP, voice call, IPSLA stats etc etc
Just for clarification we use Microsoft Lync for communications with Polycom phones using dscp 46, so perhaps it is not even possible but I wouod think Prime would be polling off of traffic on the port and look for DSCP values.
I am able to poll IPSLA and mos scores via PRTG.
on many of my ports in Detail Dashboards/Interface "polling enabled" shows as "no"  I am not sure why it shows up as no but there is some date being polled.
Is there something simple I am missing?  TAC does not seem to know the product and I am unable to find a decent manual.  So I am at a loss.
    Thanks in advance!

You have the necessary CPU, memory and hard drive specifications for an Express size installation (Reference).
To install Prime Infrastructure 2.0 you will need to first install VMware ESX/ESXi. This is documented in the same Getting Started Guide I linked to above at this link.
Once you get that far along, just follow the setup wizard and installation is pretty simple.
FYI you will get better attention to Prime questions over in the Network Management forum.

  • Prime infrastructure 2.0 - Inventory error with Virtual-Access Interface

    Hi,
We have recently been trying to resolve a few issues with routers which get partial inventory failures upon discovery. I have managed to narrow this down slightly with the help of the inventory.log file. (With help from this post https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2255346 ) I have found the following happnes when this device is added:
[2014-03-04 14:00:27,537] [ICE Service[ 1]Thread: 29] [inventory] [ERROR] - 172.16.3.202 Object detected as SAME but DB Object obtained from the database is NULL For instance id: 0 For generated POJO: PPPEncapsulation[callBack=false,callIn=false,callOut=false,multilink=false,name=Virtual-Access1,oneTime=false,owningEntityId=69757688_172.16.3.202,preferedAuthType=NONE,deployPending=NONE,name=Virtual-Access1,owningEntityId=69757688_172.16.3.202,instanceId=0,_orderedListOEIndex=<Integer>,_creationOrderIndex=<Integer>,instanceVersion=0]
I have highlighted above where it mentions the problem with the virtual access interface. The configuration on the router is for PPPoE and the virtual-access1 interface is bound to Dialer0.
It then goes on to roll back the transaction:
    172.16.3.202 persistObjects called with addList size = 307, updateList size = 6
172.16.3.202 Exception while persisting: com.cisco.xmp.persistence.common.util.DMMCRUDException:,message=errorId=12,componentName=CRUD Error Create Object Failed

172.16.3.202 Done with collection. Total call method time: 15308
    172.16.3.202 Rolling back the transaction
Has anyone else come accross this issue?
I have attched the log showing just messages from this device.
    Thanks,
    Mike.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and ASA 55xx platform

    Hello,
We recently upgraded to Prime Infrastructure 2.0 with the hope being able to manage our ASA's from PRIME (and complete an LMS migration).
When I attempt to add ASA's to prime i get the following collection errors:
Unable to collect processor and RAM information.          Processor and RAM information.          Unexpected error. See the log file inventory.log for details.
In the logfile I get the following XML parsing error on the MIB:

      <code>VALIDATION_ERROR</code>
<message>Failed to validate output XML: cvc-maxInclusive-valid: Value '3484331296' is not facet-valid with respect to maxInclusive '2147483647' for type 'int'.</message>

To me it seems that the ASA returns a value that is bigger then int32 and thus causes an overflow? Any clues? Workarounds to add an ASA to Prime without checking these MIB'S?

The X series (all with 64-bit SMP images) are not currently supported by PI 2.0. We can hope for a device update in the coming months to remedy that situation.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Client Statistic Report Issues

    Hello Community,
I hope you can help with a couple of issues I am seeing on Prime Infrastructure 2.1, running an evaluation 60 day license.
My PI 2.1 build is currently managing a WLC 5508 running 7.4.121.0, which has been added successfully. No configuration changes were applied to the WLCs, other than SNMP community. No AVC or medianet configuration is applied.
When looking in the 'Operate>Client and Users' dashboard; I can see connected clients and if I select one of them, I can see further details like session, security and client statistics (showing traffic and 802.11 metrics). These are the table views that show current values, however, further down I see graphs but they do not contain any information for RSSI, SNR or traffic sent & received (packets or bytes).
Question: Should I see this information under an evaluation license and if so, what could be stopping it?
Also, when I run the reports 'Report>Report Launch Pad' and select 'Client>Client Traffic' or 'Client>Client Throughput' the resulting report contains 0 bps, when I select 'Report By' AP by Floor Area. I have created a single floor area and placed three access points into it.
Out of interest if I do a report of the same type using 'Report By' All or AP by Controller, I do see traffic graphs for 3 out of 333 access points. Just not the access points that are in my floor area. Also the amount of traffic utilization is tiny (less than a kbps) for a WLC with 800 users.
For a 'Client>Client Count' report using AP by Floor Area, I do see the client numbers connected to the WLC/APs in my configured floor area.
Question: Should I see reports for client traffic and throughput under an evaluation license for floor areas and if so, what could be stopping it?
I have checked the background task and the 'Client Statistics' task is enabled and run time is being updated.
    Kind regards,
    Ian

    Hi,
    here is an update:
There are more than one Report you need to start to get data for Device, FAN, Power Supply, Module - look at these reports:
Report > Report Launch Pad > Device > Inventory
Report > Report Lauch Pad > Device > Wired Detailed Device Inventory
Report > Report Lauch Pad > Device > Wired Module Detail > Wired Module Detail Report Details
SFPs and GBICs cannot be reported til now - there are working on it.

  • When is Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 released, and what does 2.0 offer?

We are running Prime Infrastructure 1.3 primarily for wireless management at this point.  We have enough licenses to add all our switches, routers, and firewalls, but we're hesitant to do so until 2.0 comes out.  While there are some features for backing up and configuring switches and routers, 1.3 still seems pretty limited in regards to non-wireless features.  For example, nearly every report in 1.3 is for wireless controllers or AP's, there are no reports I've found relevent for switches and routers.  I've read a lot of blogs, cisco posts, and white papers talking about how Cisco Prime Infrastrucure 2.0 will finally consolidate Prime into a truly all-in-one network management suite that can manage the entire Cisco environment.  Does anyone know when it's officially being released?  Does anyone have an tech sheets on what's new in 2.0, or what its capabilities are?  I want to better understand what 2.0 has to offer, when it's coming out, how to upgrade, so I can start planning for the upgrade and eventually importing all our network devices to Cisco Prime for centralized management.  Any useful information or links would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Christian

PI 2.0 is in Beta mode for testing in closed group already. However it may still take some time to get released on CCO for FCS.
I think it is expected to be released between aug-sep. BU has also started working on CPI 2.1, which you can see test uploads on CCO.
For what does it have for customers?
    > As Cisco have a vision of one network Management software for both wired and wireless infrastructure, which started getting real partially with Cisco PI.
As WCS got evolved to NCS and eventually to Cisco Prime Infrastructure, but it doesnt yet have full Management capability for wired infra., which is there with LMS.
With CPI 2.x Cisco plans to blend entire LMS and WCS features together.
    -Thanks

    Thanks
    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,
SNMP traps are shown in the events and alerts section of PI.
SNMP config looks fine. Can  you run the SNMP debug (debug snmp packets ) .check the logs and see if the device is actually sending the TRAPS to the PI server.
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 Rest API XML does not add LF

I am using several scripts that dig the data from XML files created through Cisco Prime Infrastructure Rest API. It worked fine until 2.1. Now, with 2.2, seems Cisco stopped adding LF to each line and everything is 'one' line.
Here is an example with 2.1, there is a LF to the end of each line:
    ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <queryResponse type="AccessPointDetails" rootUrl="https://server/webacs/api/v1/data" requestUrl="https://server/webacs/api/v1/data/AccessPointDetails?type=contains(UnifiedAp)&amp;.full=true&amp;.maxResults=1000&amp;.firstResult=0" responseType="listEntityInstances" count="715" first="0" last="714">
        <entity url="https://server/webacs/api/v1/data/AccessPointDetails/1505569" type="AccessPointDetails" dtoType="accessPointDetailsDTO">
            <accessPointDetailsDTO id="1505569" displayName="1505569">
                <adminStatus>ENABLE</adminStatus>
                <apType>AP1240</apType>
                <cdpNeighbors>
                    <cdpNeighbor>
                        <capabilities>Switch IGMP </capabilities>
                        <duplex>Half Duplex</duplex>
                        <interfaceSpeed>100Mbps</interfaceSpeed>
                        <localPort>2</localPort>
                        <neighborIpAddress>10.1.1.1</neighborIpAddress>
                        <neighborName>switch</neighborName>
                        <neighborPort>FastEthernet0/1</neighborPort>
                        <platform>cisco WS-C3560-8PC</platform>
                    </cdpNeighbor>
Now, with 2.2, there is not LF anywhere:
    ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><queryResponse type="AccessPointDetails" rootUrl="https://server/webacs/api/v1/data" requestUrl="https://server/webacs/api/v1/data/AccessPointDetails?type=contains(UnifiedAp&amp;.full=true&amp;.maxResults=1000&amp;.firstResult=0" responseType="listEntityInstances" count="715" first="0" last="714">
    <entity url="https://server/webacs/api/v1/data/AccessPointDetails/1505569" type="AccessPointDetails" dtoType="accessPointDetailsDTO">
    <accessPointDetailsDTO id="1505569" displayName="1505569"><adminStatus>ENABLE</adminStatus><apType>AP1240</apType><cdpNeighbors><cdpNeighbor>
Does anyone know, is this intentional or a mistake? Or is there a way how I control this?
I am reading on-line CPI Rest API docs, but seems cannot find anything.
    Thanks,
    Vlad

    -Thanks

  • Configure the syslog of ASA 5512-X for display on Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1

Hi, I'm working on implementing the Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 and want to display the syslog about ASA5512-X with Software Version 9.2.
What would be the procedure for configuring?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Enable "logging host x.x.x.x "  command to enable logging
    check the below link:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa91/configuration/general/asa_91_general_config/monitor_syslog.html#68764
FYI: Prime Infrastructure support only SEV 0,1,2 syslogs as of now.
Operate > alarm and events > syslogs
    Thanks-

  • Prime Infrastructure vulnerable to ShellShock?

    Hi,
does anyone know if Prime Infrastructure version 1.2 is also affected?
It is not in the list:

    Hi Renata,
I'm looking for a patch for our version (and still looking) but found a list that appears to show that 1.2 is affected.
