Prime infrastructure nexus 5600 unknown device ?
Hi All
Just upgraded prime infrastructure to ver 2.2 but we have a few issues
One of them is it sees our Nexus 6572 s as unknown devices .
While trying to deal with another issue with our support we upgraded
all the newest patches but still this come up as an unknown device.
Surely cisco have a device patch or something for this
As i have learnt prime from using it and havent done any training
perhaps there is something i should know
Kind regards
Steve
Ignore this one just uploaded the latest device patch and this now works

Prime Infrastructure 2.1: Report - Device - Inventory
Hi there,
we want to have an inventory report of your device database.
The infrastructure is a wild mix of Catalyst 6500er, 3560X, 3750X, N7K, N5K, WLC, etc.
We are using the prime infrastructure 2.1 Report Launch Pad and the API site. The maximum we get of a N7K:
UDI serial number
FAN serial number
The whole Module serials numbers are missing. How do we get this data?
br,
chrisHi,
here is an update:
There are more than one Report you need to start to get data for Device, FAN, Power Supply, Module - look at these reports:
Report > Report Launch Pad > Device > Inventory
Report > Report Lauch Pad > Device > Wired Detailed Device Inventory
Report > Report Lauch Pad > Device > Wired Module Detail > Wired Module Detail Report Details
SFPs and GBICs cannot be reported til now - there are working on it.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure v2.1 - Delete device fails
Hi.
I'm trying out PI, but I have come across an error.
I'm trying to delete a device (a WLC 5508), but I keep getting this error every time I try:
Delete Device(s) Failed: 172.29.254.6. Please see log for more information.
But there are about 200 log files in Prime, so does anyone know where I should be looking?
I had 2 similar controllers in Prime, the first one got deleted without problems. Strange.
Thanks.Thank you, that helped.
I found what I needed in ifm_intentory.log
It seems there was a problem deleting the AP's associated with the WLC.
So I deleted the WLC only first, and the AP's next, and now it's gone.
One strange thing though: The WLC could be seen correctly under the Virtual Domain I added it in, but the AP's could only be see in the root Virtual Domain.
I will try to re-add it now, to see if they all end up in the right place this time.
Thank you for your help. -
Cisco nexus 6001 not a supported device on cisco prime infrastructure 2.1?
I have installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 and Prime Infrastructure still doesn't seem to support the Nexus 6001 platform? Can someone tell me if Cisco Prime Infrastructure will ever support the Cisco Nexus 6001 platform or is there any plans to support it in any future device packs?
The Nexus 6001 isn't currently supported in PI 2.1. There's no workaround except to wait for a device or product update that adds support. Right now I know the 9000 series is on the 2.2 roadmap but I haven't seen any reference to the 6001 and PI.
Interestingly, Prime LMS does support both the 6001 and 6004. Reference. -

I have setup Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and, though I have added manually my 4 network cores as devices without any problem, I can't get a single trap or a single SNMP information to be pushed into my Cisco Prime Infra.

JeremyHi Jeremy,
SNMP traps are shown in the events and alerts section of PI.
SNMP config looks fine. Can you run the SNMP debug (debug snmp packets ) .check the logs and see if the device is actually sending the TRAPS to the PI server.
Thanks-
Afroz

Prime Infrastructure 2.2 with Nexus 5672UP
Hi
I was wondering if anyone have managed to add Nexus 5672UP devices in Prime Infrastructure 2.2?
I noticed that it is not in the device supported list of 2.2.
I did however notice that the device is supported with Update Pack 7 in PI 2.1
Was wondering if one could load Update Pack 7 for PI 2.1 for PI 2.2 or if there is an update pack for PI 2.2 that includes this device?Hi ,
Device Type: Nexus 5672UP
SYSOID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.12.3.1.3.1410
This device will be supported by first or second week of Feb.
Thanks-
Afroz

Nexus 3548 6.0(2)A1(1) within Prime Infrastructure 2.0
Hi there,
I am trying to introduce some Nexus 3548 in my Prime Infrastructure 2.0.
For my 3048 running 6.0(2)U1(1a), no problem, they are discovered well and showing no error in the Device Work Center.
My 3548 are unrecognised (NXOS 6 too).
Is this an expected bahaviour ?
Regards,
FredHello,
Take a thorough look at realease notes for this version and before. This is the only way.
If your doubt is only about VPC and FEX features, it is totally supported, just be aware that upgrade is disruptive.
Regards.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure not detecting Nexus VLANs
Hello,
we recently added 2 Nexus 5010 to our prime Infrastructure 2.0.
Once synchronization is completed, the device shows as Managed.
When looking through the device details, everything seems to be ok, just when looking into the VLANs tab, it says:
"none detected".
In fact, there are quite a lot of vlans on this device.
Did anyone have a similar problem?
Thanks,
JörgHi Jorg,
I have checked and confirmed that Unfortunately this feature is not supported for NEXUS . I mean the VLAN information.
and I think "port-channels" are also not supported.
Thanks-
Afroz

Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Automatically add remove devices
Dears,
I'm basically looking for a dcrcli equivalent to use on prime infrastructure 2.0.
Customer has a central repository of devices that must be monitored. When devices are added or removed there, they automagically appear or disappear in the other systems.
Does something like this exist or is this on the roadmap?
Cheers,
MichelHi Scott,
Upto 7.3 config guide it was documented we have to reboot WLC when we configuring SNMP v3 which is wrong. (here is 7.3 config guide link for reference). May be older version (prior to 7.0) had that requirement, not too sure about it
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.3/configuration/guide/b_wlc-cg_chapter_0100.html#d16741e4514a1635
From 7.4 onwards config guide does not talk about it all. I deleted the default SNMPv3 user & create a new user in 7.4 & add it to prime without rebooting WLC.
Once you configureed a SNMPv3 user on a WLC, I do no think you can edit/change the password. You have to delete the user & recreate it with modified username/password.Then re-add the WLC to prime
The behaviour you mentioned is with any of later codes of WLC ?

Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and Nexus 5548, SSH credentials fail
Hi,
I'm having problem getting the Prime Infrastructure 2.0 to login with SSH to a Nexus 5548 to do an inventory. I get "Wrong Telnet/SSH credentials". But when I use the same credentials from another SSH-client it works fine. I also tested to SSH from the console of the Prime-server and that also works fine.
Any ideas???
Regards,
Stefan LindkvistI have PI 2.0 working against Nexus 5k's in two different installations. See below for an example (click to enlarge).
Have you put in an entry in both the login and enable fields (even though they are not separately required when logging in directly)? -
New installation of Prime Infrastructure 2.2.0 (PI-VA-2.2.0.0.158.ova)
installed fixes/software/device packs:
PI 2.2.1 Poodle Fix (installed)
PI 2.2.1 Maintenance Release (installed,ncs stopped,rebooted)
Prime Infrastrucutre 2.2 Device Pack 3 (installed,ncs stopped,rebooted)
Licences installed (ncs stopped,rebooted)
Added all devices via Bulk Import (Inventory>Device Management>Network Devices)
Problem 1:
The Cisco 5500 WLCs are not listed in Inventory>Device Management>Network Devices (see screen shot) but listed under "All Devices"!
The Cisco 4400 WLCs and the 8500 WLCs are listed within their subgroup.
Devices are in "Managed State"
Problem 2: fixed! (Browser issue)
Problem 3:
Unable to run "Wired Detailed Device Inventory" report because I get the error message: Failed to run report: Unable to retrieve data for: Chassis Information (if Chassis Information is selected, if System Information is selected I get the error message with ...retrieve data for:System Information)
All devices do have an "Admin Status = Managed" and the Last Inventory Collections Status = Completed.
Has anyone the same issues or a tip for me?
Another topic, the "User Defined Fileds" are not exported when with running a "Device Export" (Inventory > Device Management > Network Devices). ;-(
BR
BastianHallo Bastian,
I think you still have browser issue, Using IE is still the best with Prime.
I have exactly same prime 2.2 and installed fixes/software/device packs.
I have no problem I can see all views. I use now IE 11, with Chrome 42.0.2311.90 and firefox 37.01 I have problems too with lots of views. You have not tell what browser + version you have.
Since you have same prime 2.2 as me. I have other problems, can you check yours?
Can you see a functional CLI template page at Configuration > Templates > Features & Technologies:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12481691/can-cisco-prime-22-still-do-simple-ad-hoc-deployment-job-cli-over-all-switches
Do you have SNMP Connectivity Failed while Verify Credentials has no errors all green and checked.

Hi all:
I found out that the discovered devices (after successful scanning) in the main Dashboard Detail cannot or take very long time to auto-refreshing the status change.
May I know is there any way by Command Line at the "Root" (I am using an OVA version) or by setting inside the Prime Infrastructure with GUI method to do scheduled Refreshing on the Dashboard Detail?
Thanks!
Best regards,
tangsuanHi all:
I have tried using Designing Monitoring Template to set the Health Check Polling time from default 15 minutes to 5 minutes and also tried also 1 minute.
The result is 5 minutes is working but 1 minute is not working.
May I know any one can help on this?
Many thanks!

My Cisco Prime Infrastructure ver. 1.2.1.12
Cisco Prime Infrastructure - I can't see the hardware virtual image when I selected a device managed by Prime Infrastructure. See attached picture.
Please let me know how to access or enable the feature.
Thanks,
TekThis is by no means a full solution, but deleting and re-adding only takes a few minutes if you use the "Export Device" and "Bulk Import" features from the Device Work Center. You can export the desired devices to a CSV file, delete them, then import from the CSV.
Of course, you might lose historical data when deleting the devices, but I'm guessing that's not as relevant since the devices themselves have been replaced by different hardware. -
Prime Infrastructure 2.1 - Out Of Sync Devices
Hi all,
We are running a Cisco Prime Infrastructure Appliance (Version 2.1) to mange/monitor/configure our wired network infrastructure. We have been able to successfully add all of the network infrastructure devices to Prime and have had relative success in image deployment, reporting etc.
However, my query is in relation to the Configuration Archives. Currently Prime is indicating that 90% of our devices are 'Out of Sync'. I know that this means that there are discrepancies between the startup and running configs. I have compared the startup and running configs on some of the affected devices and the only differences I can see were in relation to the snmp-server contact XXXX entry and the self-signed certificate entry.
Can anyone tell me how I can go about troubleshooting this or how to bring the device configurations back into sync.
Many thanks,
John PHi John,
If you navigate to Operate > Configuration Archives it will display a list of all your devices that are listed as out of sync. From here you can sort to the devices that are listed as Out of sync, select the ones that are listed as such and schedule an overwrite. There is also an option to archive immediately after it overwrites as well. It may take a bit for it to update through this page, but navigating to individual devices through device work center and clicking on the configuration archive tab, will yield that the out of sync (startup/running mismatch) message will switch to no.
Regards,
Brandon
