Prime Network License Adding Procedure

Hello
Recently we installed prime network 3.10 in local HA environment with RHCS,
after that we bought a set of license include base, standby and RTMs for 7600 routres, when licenses and media kits are arrived it contains 2 PAK numbers with same partnumber contents,
I registered one of the PAKs in site with the MAC address and hostname of primary server, but i'm confused for the second PAK, do i need to register the second PAK with the primary MAC address and hostname again or i should register that with the secondary server MAC address and hostname?
Regards
Arash

Hi Brian,
You would need the "Assurance License" to be able to get the netflow data from your devices on Prime Infrastructure (PI).

  • Cisco Prime network and cisco prime infrastructure

    Hi,
What is the difference between Cisco Prime Network and Cisco Prime infrastructure.
    Please advice.

I assume you are asking about Cisco Prime LAN Management System (LMS) vs. Cisco Prime Infrastructure (PI).
LMS is currently the leading Cisco offering for wired infrastructure management. It is the evolution of the earlier CiscoWorks LMS, CiscoWorks RWAN CiscoWorks 2000, CWSI, VLAN Director, original CiscoWorks classic etc. products going back almost 20 years.
PI is the equivalent Cisco offering for wireless LANs and is the successor to NCS and WCS products.
The overlap and confusion comes from the fact the Cisco is positioning PI as the overall wireless and wired management platform and gradually introducing wired network management features to make it equal (and eventually exceed) LMS's capabilities.
There is a comparison table here that shows the current differences. A major new release of PI (2.0) is due out shortly which will close many (but not all) of the gaps on that table.

  • Cisco Prime Network 4.0

    Hi,
Has someone installed Cisco Prime Network on another distribution than Redhat ? I want to install a local demo and I have only RedHat trial.
What is the optimal mode of installation Prime Network ? Unit  + GW and DB on the same machine? I would like to install in the same machine, but
I´m not sure if it will run ok.
If this is the optimal assembly mode, which is the required bandwidth between  Unit, Gw and DB.?
    Thanks.
    Regards.

I found the solution is to restart network control services in Prime Network and restart control services in Prime Central from the Linux OS

  • How do you silently install the network license to Circuit Design Suite

After a silent install of Circuit Design Suite you still have to manually tell it the network license details. Is there a silent install for this too?

There are a couple of reasons you might see this error:
    1. Make sure when you are creating the network installer, you are pointing to the root of the CD, containing setup.exe.
    2. There was an issue with the first release of the network installer that would cause this error. The issue was resolved with a maintenance release.
See this knowledge base article for more information.

    Hi Jorge,
Absolutely, Prime CNR supports IPv6 since CNR 6.x versions...
       For IPv6 configuration instructions on latest versions of CPNR you should start here;

  • How to extend the range of my Airport Extreme network by adding an Airport Express

How to extend the range of my Airport Extreme network by adding an Airport Express?

You have to make sure that the AirPort Express is in Factory Default Settings. If it is straight out of the box, it is ready to be configured.
The instructions that I will provide are for using AirPort Utility 6.0, which you have.
Locate the Express in the same room as the AirPort Extreme for the configuration. Power it up and allow a full minute for the Express to display a blinking amber light.
Make sure that the wireless is turned on your Mac
Open AirPort Utility 6.0 and look at the small rectangle in the upper left hand corner of the display. It should now read something like "Other AirPort Base Stations (1)"
Click on the rectangle, and then click on the AirPort Express xxxxxx listing
AirPort Utility will take a minute or two to analyze the settings on your network and then suggest that  the Express be configured to "Extend" your wireless network.
Edit the Base Station name to your liking, then click Next in the lower right hand corner
Allow a full minute or two let AirPort Utility do its work
When you see Setup Complete, click Done at the lower right of the window.
Now move the AirPort Express to a location that is approximately half way between the AirPort Extreme and the area that needs more wireless coverage.
    You should be in business.

  • ASA 1000v controlled by Prime Network Services Controller

I have a problem with a ASA 1000v which is controlled by the Prime Network Services Controller. I made a Policy for one port-profile which a server is connected. I configured nat and I am able to reach hosts on the Outside Network.
Somehow I would like to limit the traffic to certain ports. So I made a ACL which looks like this
I would guess that this give me a ACL which permits only SSH to 192.168.1.1. But instead it gives me a ip 192.168.2.2 192.168.1.1 ACL on the ASA.
Has anybody a clou on how to do this?

I found the answer. The ACL must look like this then it will work :)

I'm having an issue with Cisco Prime Network Repository Images getting image from ASR903 devices.
I am only obtaining the packages.conf file (bootvar is configured to boot from that file (boot system flash bootflash:issu/packages.conf)).
Any idea in order to get the correct image?
Thanks a lot and best regards,

  • Prime network control system appliance (NCS)

    Hi,
i have a new cisco prime network control system appliance (NCS)
I completed the initial installation however post installation it performed a reboot and is now stuck at Init Level 3.
I have restarted the machine several time but the same result.

Umm a new appliance should have had the application pre-installed. Were you upgrading?
In either case, you'll probably need to open a TAC case. Even without Smartnet you should have at least 90-day warranty support

  • What is the most sensible way to extend a wifi signal. I am in a cinderblock house and I have to buy something that will give me a single network but added range from my airport extreme base station.

What is the most sensible way to extend a wifi signal. I am in a cinderblock house and I have to buy something that will give me a single network but added range from my airport extreme base station.

Use an Airport Express. Configure the AEBS to allow it's wireless network to be extended. This is a dropdown menu option under the Wireless tab. Configure the Airport Express to Extend an Existing Network also under it's Wireless tab. You will need to provide the name of your network used in the AEBS as well as the network's access password.

  • Prime Network and ASR 9001

I have Prime Network 4.0 and ASR 9001 with A9K-MPA-20x1GE and IOS XR 5.1.0. Prime connects to ASR9k with Telnet, SNMP and XML, status says reachable, operational. Updated prime to latest PrimeNetwork-4.0-DP1308.
Still, Prime can not see any physical interfaces except MgmtEth (no on-board 4x10G, no 20x1G). Basically, nothing in Slot0.
Can not see any VRFs and BNG functionality configured in VRF.
Only single static route in routing table (does not show connected routes in global routing table)
    What can it be?
Is it me not configuring something, or Prime Network should not be seeing this things?
    George
