Prime Optical Server not keeping correct time.

OK this is an issue that I have been having since we loaded Optical Prime 9.3.1. I thought it might have been solved in OP 9.6, it hasn't.  We are running both on two separate Red Hat 5.8 servers that are spot on to the NTP server we have.  The NTP is tied to a GPS Strat 1 source. We have tried every setting we can think of.  It's not a small drift either.  Current time on both RH servers is 1956 UTC. the 9.3.1 OP says 0207 UTC tomorrow, and the 9.6 OP server shows 0443 UTC tomorrow.   It is frustrating to my Techs and me.  I have told them to use the NE alarm time on the screen for tracking tickets.
I need help. it is causing problems with data collection and analysis. things I can do in CPO I have to collect from 117 different NE's.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Steve

try tp cheack nymber of ntp procceses and leave only one like in example:
[root@CPO ~]# ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep "ntp" | wc -l
2
[root@CPOn ~]# ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep "ntp"
ntp       2040     1  0 Jan23 ?        00:00:01 ntpd -u ntp:ntp -p /var/run/ntpd.pid -g
root      2051  2040  0 Jan23 ?        00:00:01 ntpd -u ntp:ntp -p /var/run/ntpd.pid -g
Stop CPO - opticalctl stop
[root@CPO ~]# kill -9 2051
[root@CPO ~]# ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep "ntp"
ntp       2040     1  0 Jan23 ?        00:00:01 ntpd -u ntp:ntp -p /var/run/ntpd.pid -g
[root@CPO ~]# ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep "ntp" | wc -l
1
Cheack command "prefer" after IP of NTP server in /etc/ntp.config file.
Start CPO - opticalctl start

  • Satellite A105-S4211 Will not keep correct Time

I have a Satellite A105-S4211 running Windows XP SP2.  A few months back, it stopped keeping the correct system time.  I suspected it was the CMOS battery.  How do I replace the battery?  Can it be replaced?

Try DFU mode and then restore to factory settings/new iPod. Not from backup

  • Satellite L775D-S7222 clock will not keep correct time

When I turn on/leave my computer on my time will change anywhere from 5 minutes to about 5 days ahead. It happens everytime I use my computer. I change the time constantly and also have tried changing time zones and changing the websites in which the time can be synced from. Its a small problem but it is very aggravating! I've heard that this could be a hardware problem, but hopefully that is not the case!

  • Why Is Keeping Correct TIME in Arch Such A PITA?

Why has this happened again. Why is keeping correct time in Arch such a constant struggle and general pain in the ass?
My latest Ubuntu install doesn't even use ntp or openntpd, and never looses track of time. It keeps correct time running in an
Arch Vbox along with most other virtual Linux distros.
Does this have to be this way. I could care less if my time is off by a min or so, but to be off 10min every 2-3 days is not good.
It seems the info in the wiki is ether obsolete or inaccurate and or overly complex.....with too many....some people do this....you may want to try that....
If I was a Linux GURU, I'd figure this problem out and correct/update the wiki......but since I'm not, and can't...
I have no choice but to beg for help, Please!!
    This is the problem again!!!
    [jeff@Arch2009p2 ~]$ ntpq -p
    No association ID's returned

Thanks for the help and patience Rookie.
I guess I am kinda guilty in not wanting to put much into "just want to see close to the correct time on my desktop" problem!!!
I tend to prioritize the time I spend on my new Linux hobby by what I find interesting and or FUN.....
To be honest, this time issue has been neither, and is something I'd like to find a quick fix, and move on.
    I haven't spent much/any time actually "studying" it....my bad!!
And no, I didn't just randomly guess 4 numbers between 0 and 255, put them together with decimal points, and hope for the best....
I used my random time server IP address generating algorithm ....just kiddn!!
I got them from my ntpq -p output (#8 post above) that was when ntp was working.

  • Creative Zen 8GB not keeping accurate time on cl

Hello, I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with thier Creative Zen's (mine is an 8GB) not keeping accurate time on the digital clock on the player? My firmware is .2.0 by the way. I have a fully charged battery and noticed yesterday that the time on my clock was way off and needed to be set once more. So I set it correctly yesterday, now 24 hours later, the time is again way off...it thinks it's :6 pm even though it's 0:20 pm as I post this message.
I have noticed this several times previously and have adjusted the clock accordingly each time...this is not just a random incident.
I have used the player for several hours today but the battery still has lots of charge left and the unit functions correctly minus this time issue.
Any feedback or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Drew

I too hope that if others are having this problem that they would add their comments to this thread. I know this is a rather small issue, but it is annoying none the less. I mean otherwise my player is rock solid. Yes I could turn off the display of the clock and not rely on it at all (now I don't because it's always wrong) but that means I am settling for a product that does not work as advertised with ALL it's features working correctly. I am being kind of picky but I just want the product to function correctly... I don't think that's being too out of the ordinary with my expectations.
Anyhow, to make a long story short, I have been issued an RMA number and plan on sending the player off to Creative here in Canada.
I promised to post a follow-up with a copy of what Creative has sent me for correspondence in case others are interested. Oh and just to be complete, here are my answers to the suggested self-troubleshooting methods in the following email - yes I am running the latest firmware release and I am a clock setting professional now because I have done it so many times.
I have also searched this forum for other users who may be having this issue and I did not find too many (I found this interesting). So that is why I created this thread. I am starting to notice, at least at this time, a few others who are having similar experiences as I-yup I agree I am not the first to have problems with my MP3 player nor the last. Just was curious to see if this was a common problem or if I was the lucky one of the bunch or one that people just didn't bother to report...
Regardless everyone's feedback is appreciated and respected.
    Anyhow here is their email:

    Hello.
Today I got the opportunity to work with a Muse user with the same issue after performing the troubleshooting steps in the post above we decided to contact the host.
Later i came to know that host took Muse user's IP and they were able to unblock it and muse started connecting to FTP host.
I another scenario Host suggested Muse user to add :21 to the FTP address and then Muse was able to connect.
    Eg    ftp.domain.com:21
Please try the 2 suggestion above and let me know if it works.

  • Ical events not displaying correct time zone

    Hi All,
I have a weird issue and I'm not sure if it's an iCal or an entourage problem. When one of our Entourage2008 (exchange) users sends a meeting invite to a user in a different time zone using ical, the meeting shows in ical as the time the entourage user who created it, aka not adjusting for the time zone. Entourage to outlook calendar or another entourage calendar works fine, and iCal to iCal works fine; just not Entourage to iCal. Also, a calendar event from the iCal user to the Entourage user does adjust correctly for the time zone difference, which is why i'm exactly sure where the problem lies. I did post in the mactopia forums too so please don't yell at me for posting an 'entourage' problem in a mac forum. any help anyone could provide would be appreciated.
    Thank you.
i'm on 10.5.7 with the latest updates for mac os x and the latest office for mac updates, and we are running off a hosted exchange server. we've experienced the same issue whether we have iCalis ("turn on time support") option enabled in iCal or not enabled.

It's annoying as it should not be this complicated. I've implemented a work around, but it's not ideal. I have entourage running but not open, and have sync services set to sync with ical. A new invite comes into mac mail, the user clicks on the ics file (which opens entourage calendar), accepts the meeting, and closes the entourage window. The correct time is in entourage calendar, and then syncs with ical and the meeting has the correct time for that time zone.
If anyone has found a real fix for this problem, please let me know.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one Jim.

  • I-Phone not syncing correct time zone in ical, but computer time stays the same

Lately when I put in appointments in my calendar on my Iphone 4S either directly,or in my mac, the time zone drops back 3 hours in just the Iphone only. The correct time is still on my calendar in my mac.  I checked my Iphone settings to make sure that my time zone is correct, which is was.  We live 6 mos on the west coast and 6 mos on the east coast for many years and have not had this problem before. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance for any advice!
    Cheryl

Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Support = "Off" on your iPhoje.

  • IPhoto '09 not importing correct time on photos

I am using a Canon PowerShot S95. I've check the time in the camera and the time on my computer. When importing pictures from the camera to iPhoto, iPhoto does not use the time my picture was actually taken. I looked at the extended info to check the original time and the digitalized time. These times match but are incorrect as to the when I actually took the picture. This throws off the date. The digitalized time and original time will show 3:13:11 am.  It is way off. I don't take pictures at 3am! So the problem of sorting picture with keywords and using the date separates the pictures incorrectly. I was sorting using keywords Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc. Pictures taken the same day were separated to different events. I hope this all makes sense. Can anyone help me.

iPhoto gets the time and date from the Exif metadata of the photograph. This is written by the camera. You may not have taken the photo at 3 am, but the camera thinks it was 3 am when the shot was taken.
You can correct the date and time using the Photos ->Adjust Date and Time command

  • Upcoming Events in sidebar not reflecting correct time

I create an event on my wiki/group calendar. It shows up on the sidebar under Upcoming Events. When I place my cursor over the item listed under Upcoming Events, everything is correct except the time. The time is about 2-3 hours off. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Michele

I am having the same problem. If you click on the events in the sidebar, my time is about 5 hours off, but if you browse the calendar through the wiki server, the events are at the correct time on the weekly and daily grids. If you then click on the event in the grid, it gives you the incorrect time. I have confirmed this with Safari and Firefox as the browser.

  • 6600 Slide not showing correct time for recieved m...

Hi again, My slide is mighty cute but is vexing me once more. Whenever I recieve messages - if i look at the "message details" it says i have recieved them at bizzare times. Eg. if it is 1pm it might say 4:36 am. Have called my service provider - they said it was a phone setting. Checked at the shop i purchased it from and they cound't figure it - i have searched and still can't figure it! anyone have any clues as to how i would go about setting it for the correct time? When I send messages it sticks the right time on them and my phone clock is correct too ...
    thanks in advance!

    Hi.
    Go to:
    settings,
    date & time,
    date & time settings,
then go to TIME ZONE(set your GMT, that's the local time zone. Eg: Mine is GMT +8, Its because I live in asia so its GMT +8. It depends in what country you are located. If you dont know your GMT or local time zone, just google it, type GMT & look for the country where you live.
Then, set the actual time & date.
I also have that kind of problem before & I did the same thing.
    Hope this will help...
