Prince of Persia 3D on FX5200-128

Hi ,
:-]]]ALL games are fine, EXCEPT with Prince of Persia 3D(NOT sands of time), it crashes after the first movie logo . The only way to run POP3D is to disabling "direct draw" . the game grafics are still OK, but is soooo slow.
Thanks for your attention.

Hi ,
I tested the game with my old vodoo 3 3000 and the game goes perfectly . But with my Geforce FX 5200 the game crashes . I think it could be a "opengl" or "direct3d" configuration of my geforcefx5200, but I don´t know how options try first(so much combined options ).
:idea:One final question, Is that a problem if I put my old vodoo 3 3000 in the same computer with geforcefx5200???
Sorry for my english, I´m from Brazil.
Thank you.

  • Audigy 1 Platinum and Prince of Persia:Warrior Wit

Ok, I have an Audigy Platinum. I recently updated to the latest drivers and everything. I usually don't like updating the drivers for this card, but i recently had to due to PowerDVD6 sound not working correctly in 5.. Well I fixed the PowerDVD6 problem, and now have a new problem. I recently installed Prince of Persia :Warrior Within, and once passed the UBI soft logo, the sound shuts off, and I'm left without sound. I also noticed that when I ALT-TAB back to the desktop, I go to my AUDIO HQ, and check the EAX Control panel, and its empty, no presets, or environments.. All I wanna know is, WHAT DO I DO?!!!!
I would hate to have to purchase a new Card, even I understand this is an older card..
    Please Help!!

I have the same problem, is there some way to change the language settings?
Edit:: press the i (info button) then press twice the first button, you can choose languages by clicking the right flag

I had the same problem with my 6600GT and POP, so I applied the patch.  The game started but the tearing was so bad in the menu screen you couldn't play.  Ended up having to set the vsync option in the drivers to 'OFF' instead of 'application-controlled'.  This cleared up the problem.
Thats sounds more like a driver issue... try with another version..

  • S-Video only plays B+W on TV...... [FX5200-128]

Hi, I'm running Windows XP with an FX 5200 128 Video Card.
I have an S-Video plug that turns in to a Yellow RCA wire and plugs in to my TV.
When I turn my TV on, I see everything just fine. The Windows start up screen is in color. However, when my desktop appears, everything goes Black and White.
I've tried all types of settings, but I just can't seem to get color on my TV. (I do still get Color on my monitor)
Does any one have any suggestions ??
    Thanks :-)

are you shure that you have color TV?
just kidding, try using latest drivers from Nvidia, and remember to instal WDM drivers too (not the latest version).

  • Fx5200-128 or GeForce4 MX440 64MB ?

The deal is.....I don't really play games on my computer.  I do quite a bit of graphics (photoshop, flash, etc).  I know the mx440 is pretty low end, but is there any reason for me to step a bit higher to the fx5200?
    Thanks in advance.
No specs yet.....still working on it.

The reason the FX 5200 scores higher in benchmarks is because it has Direct X 9 support - which the Geforce 4 MX card is lacking - but real life performance is only marginal more, unless you play any brand new Games written for Direct X 9 - and there aren't many.
So keep saving - and when you have enough for a FX 5600 there may be more games available to make use of the Direct X 9 technology.

  • Prince of Persia the NON HD version

Well I have both HD and nonHD versions, and considering the HD version wasnt intended for the 5800, it lags like hell, so I downloaded the 2D version from Ovi Store, and what do you know, the thing cannot load the 9th stage. Anyone know where to get a correctly running one? Also some games from the store doesnt work. Dont they test them?
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

I dont belive a non HD version is available in the app store.  Contact the developers for further clarification.

  • FX5200 Personal Cinema TV Problem

I install new Nvidia drivers, and all works ok (exclude remote)

I not have any error messages when i start WinDVR
And i think that problem in drivers or in card(physical)
    Please Help !!!! S.O.S !!!!
    thanks

I`m no expert on this but I`ve had similar problems with my FX5200-128 Personal Cinema card which I have managed to solve. These have included TV picture without sound, unreliable TV capture and channel selection problems. It seems that to get good capture you must start off with a strong aerial signal for the card to work best. This is especially true if you experience poor channel lock.
If you have TV picture without sound then IMO this points to some conflict/incompatibility with video and audio on the PC. I started with simple onboard audio and only managed to get TV sound after adding a cheap SoundBlaster PCI card (make sure the onboard audio device is turned off in BIOS afterwards to avoid problems).
I also met a curious problem with TV Standard selection. I live in Greece and the TV Standard used here is PAL-B. The FX5200 setup insisted that this should be SECAM. This caused a lot of grief and the only way I`m able to get good capture is if I use nearby Turkey - which the settings happily accept as PAL-B. This is covered briefly in the User notes somewhere. So, depending where you are, you may have to log to some neighbouring country to achieve optimum capture.
    Hope some of this helps.

  • GeForce FX5200 - big problem

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
    1. I can't even start my OS. It's the graphic card problem for sure, because when I'm changing it for any other card it works fine. Ok, so when my OS (XP) is loading, my monitor just turns off and the led is blinking. All what can I do is reset or turn of the computer. There was no fan on the vga when I bought it (2 years ago). It was working excellent. And now I can't even run my OS.
Does anyone of you know what's the problem ?
    2. Second problem - tvout. When I connect my tv, screen on tv is weird, I don't know how to describe it   but it looks like the colours are brightened. I can't do anything with it, I was trying some setup but nothing works. It was working good too, but it screwed up much more sooner then my first problem.  :D

Thanks in advance for the replys.

you can try, use fail safe mode, pressing F8 when booting, then set to start in failsafe mode with vga, then if you can get in to windows then go to video properties and change the refresh frecuency to 60hz in any resolution and restart, if do not work do it again in fail safe mode (no vga mode) if the last thing you see is the windows logo with the loading bar then the problem is monitor out of refresh values, that turn of the monitor, another thing may be if you conect a tv like a monitor without your pc monitor, sometimes the main monitor is set to tv so when start windows the pc monitor turn off, if you can see something in your tv then you must change to "clone view" the multidisplay setting
ok mi english is not good too so i hope to help you in some way
true but that dont explain --> "I was able to start an OS, but in the game it crashed again."

  • FX5200 AGP clarification

Hello. I have recently purchased a MSI FX5200 128 MB DDR graphics card- my first AGP card surprisingly. The card doesnt work. In fact, its not even detected by the bios.
My motherboard uses the AGP 1.0 spec (66Mhz and 133Mhz) at 3.3v only. From my reading, i was informed that an AGP 3.0  spec 8x card would be downward campatible to AGP 1.0. This doesnt seem to be the case with my card. Am i right to assume that when these comments are made, what people are actually saying is that a mobo that supports AGP 3.0 can be downgraded or auto-switched, if need be, to an AGP 1.0 or 2.0 spec, but not for a 8x card to auto-switch to 1x or 2x?
I've been looking through this forum and on the web and i keep getting conflicting info on the topic of AGP voltage levels and compatibility with older mobos. Some say 8x cards work in 2x slots and some say not. Some say the older mobos need to also support 1.5v, but that doesnt seem to make sense as AGP 1.0 only operates on 3.3v and at the time, 1.5v slots werent manufactured- dont think so at least!
I'm assuming that an AGP 1x/2x card would be my best bet- short of replacing my mobo. Does anyone have any suggestions on which one i should purchase?
    PC specs:
    mobo:GA-7IXE4 (bios version F9)
graphics: MSI FX5200 128 MB DDR (currently using riva tnt2)
    256MB SDRAM 133MHz
I know that with my PC's bus speed i cant get the best out of the FX card, but i plan to upgrade the mobo later in the year- and this card is supported for a game (CMR3) i want to get! Is there anyway to get it to work on my board?
    thanks in advance

All Geforce FX GPUs come with AGP 8X and they are NOT expected to run on AGP 1.0 slots because of different voltages used. Even if it works, it may be unstable. However, using AGP 8X cards on 4X AGP slots doesn`t have any problems.
It`s not the AGP speed the problem, it is the voltages used...
But changing from AGP 4X to 8X has 3% performance increase, so don`t worry about speed.
Anyway, you could damage your card on a AGP 2X (1.0). In this case, buy a Geforce4 MX or Ti GPU

  • Help Still needed, before I BIN FX5200

Can anyone recommend the best drivers for WIN98/fx5200 128 graphics card. My current drivers downloaded form Nvidia(44.03_win9x) only seem to allow certain features to work.
Also since I installed the card my system has started to freeze occasionally. This also happend when I was using win xp pro and the correct MSI setup cd.
    System Spec:
    Win98,
    P3 500MHz
    PC100 Systemboard/slot 1/ Socket 370
    256mb sdram
    Unknown PSU.
    Thanks.

Even a newbie like me can see there are loads of conflicts, but that`s as far as my limited knowledge takes me. The entry "IRQ Holder for PCI Steering" has caused conflicts since I got the system, I don`t even know what it is or how to get rid!
My Os is win98. My motherboard will only upgrade to 600MHz.
I could stick some more ram in if it will help,  I have just spent over £140 on the Graphics card and WinXP pro, I would prefer not to shell out anymore.
    PSU= Cortek-LC200,120v/6a,240v/3.5a.
