Print 4 x 6 postcard

Guess I'm not alone with this problem.  Need to print on one side of a 4 x 6 postcard.  Always accomplished this before by formatting it on a Monarch size envelope...using Publisher.    I have the HP PHotosmart 7510.  Need explicit instructions.

Hi LF.
We've added a feature to HP Photo Creations that takes you directly to prints from a web link:
Make Prints
If you'd like to make a collage print instead (collage prints can include mutiple photos and text), try this link:
Make Collage Prints
If you don't already have HP Photo Creations, you'll see a link to get it. (HP Photo Creations is a free download for Mac and Windows.)
Hope this helps. We also have a quick video called Printing at Home here: http://hp.rlproductionnetwork.com/videos.html.

  • Print an Airtight Postcard viewer

Does anyone know if it is possible to print an airtight postcard viewer within LR, in addition to posting it on the web?
    Thanks!

You need to replace the XXX and XX with the pixel dimensions that you want the frame to be. Also I would change PXFRAMEBORDER="0" to PX FRAMEBORDER="0". Running those together may also be part of the problem.
Give this a try and then adjust to your page:
<IFRAME SRC = "http://web.me.com/dieselusvisual/PostcardViewer/index.html" WIDTH="700" px HEIGHT="800" px FRAMEBORDER="0" --if "0" no border, otherwise "1" with borderMARGINWIDTH ="0px" MARGINHEIGHT="0px" SCROLLING="no" --"no"no scrolling bar, "yes" show always, "auto" showed when need > Your browser does not support IFRAME </IFRAME>
I just tried the above and it worked for me. However, some of the pictures fall outside of the frame. You might recreate the slideshow with just 3 photos/columns across to keep them all in a page. Or adjust the thumbnail size along with the frame size to get more columns and keep them all in the frame.

  • How can I Print a 4X6 postcard on a hp officejet pro 8600

How do I print a 4X6 postcard on a hp officejet pro 8600?  I've got postcards in the tray 1 slot on top of the printer, and have selected 4X6 card in the properties with both the auto select and tray one, but no matter what I do, it still prints out from tray 2 on 8X11 paper. Any help would be appreciated?

Hi, Please install the latest firmware from link below for the printer and try again. Assuming your printer is Officejet pro 8600 premium or plus http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-102210-4&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=4323648&sw_lang=

  • Trying to print 4-up postcards, prints 3/4 of page and then gets stuck.

Using HP business inkjet 1100 with 4-up inkjet matte postcards. I cleaned the printer but the stock still gets stuck and I have to pull the stock out. Using Windows XP, no software changes.

You need to open the Printer Setup Utility and use the menu to "Reset Print System", then add your printers.

  • Postcard duplex printing

I have an office pro 8500. whenever I try to print a duplex postcard on glossy paper the rollers ruin the image that is printed first as it takes it  back thru to print the reverse side. I have adjusted the ink drying time to the max but it does not help.  I can print fine  like this on any matte finish paper stock but not glossy paper. Should I use another special kind of paper for glossy or is my machine just not capable of doing this kind of printing successfully on glossy stock?

    Hi,
Which app do you to print ? For Windows 8 phone,  the HP AiO Remote BETA may give you a miss but for the Android devices (such as your Samsung) you should be able to use HP AiO Remote app to print in duplex thru Google Cloud Print:
    (a) Touch HP AiO Remote app,
    (b) Select file to print,
    (c) Touch Print,
    (d) Select printer on the list (if you have more than 1 printer),
    (e) Now you can select Long Edge (for Duplex) or Off (for simplex),
    (f) Touch Print
    Regards.

  • Printing A Postcard?

Hey ya'll. Just started on my new iMac owner and first time iWorks user. I want to print off a postcard from the Pages template, but I do not have a two-sided printer. Does anyone have any tips on how I would be able to effectively print this out so that the picture on the front and the text on the back match up? Thanks in advance for any info!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Dave
I print double-sided frequently. The main thing to check is how does the page come out of the printer so you can feed it in correctly for the second side. It might be worth your while to test with a piece of scratch paper. Write a word or two & print the document, then put the paper back in the printer, write something for the second side of the document & print that. Now you will be able to see how putting the paper back in worked. If it didn't print right, try again, this time putting the other end of the paper in first.
You don't want to print double-sided on regular paper with an ink jet printer, it will just be too wet.

  • Need to Print Postcards

Once a year, I have to print send out about 800 postcards for a non-profit group. I use to print labels but I had an older HP printer that finally broke down that I could load up about 40 postcards and print the address directly on the postcard. This saved time and the cost of having to buy labels. This is a low budget operation and I can't really afford to farm it out. Can anyone recommend a printer capable of printing directly to postcards.
    Thank You

Open a new Word Processing document.
At the top Menu select File>Page Setup.
Choose your printer under “Format for Printer.”
Select Paper Size. Depending on your printer’s options you may have to create a “custom size” 4x6 page size.
    Format>Document>Margins. Set appropriate margins.
    Start working on your document.
Being cheap, I buy blank 4x6 index cards from an office supply store, and print the graphic part of my mailing on one side.
Then, on the other side, I use my AW customer database, and mail merge a message to my customers, and their mailing addresses. The earlier reply explains how to do that.
Add postcard stamp and mail it.
    Good luck!

  • Use Numbers to print Address Labels

I know Excel allows you to export a spreadsheet to print labels with, but being a die-hard Apple guy, there's no way I'm going to fork over that much money for a M$ product when I have a perfectly good spreadsheet app right here.
Does anyone know of a way to use a Numbers spreadsheet to print address labels? I have a list of names and addresses that I want to print on some postcards but I can't seem to find an option to do that.
    Thanks

If I took time to build a script to do the trick it's because I undersatand that some users wish to be able to print labels from an other source than AddressBook.
But, given that, it's not because some users wish to have this feature available that the fact that it isn't is "inacceptable". Remember what is written in Apple Human Interface Guide.
    +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
    Apple Human Interface Guidelines:
    Apply the 80 Percent Solution
During the design process, if you discover problems with your product design, you might consider applying the 80 percent solution—that is, designing your software to meet the needs of at least 80 percent of your users. This type of design typically favors simpler, more elegant approaches to problems.
If you try to design for the 20 percent of your target audience who are power users, your design may not be usable by the other 80 percent of users. Even though that smaller group of power users is likely to have good ideas for features, the majority of your user base may not think in the same way. Involving a broad range of users in your design process can help you find the 80 percent solution.
    -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
It just seems that you doesn't fit in the 80%. Is it serious doctor ?

  • Borderless printing issue

I am attempting to print borderless for postcards. I created the post card in Print Explosion Deluxe 3.0.1.1. I put the page setup to 8 1/2x 11 borderless and I ma printing on a Canon MP460. When I check the preview the image and colors are fine but when I print it the colors are all faded out. if I change to any other document set up the color intensity returns but I end with borders on the outer edges that chop of the outer edges of the post cards. Anyone have some suggestions? I'm not certain why the colors washout in borderless. I even increased the color intensity in color options but still got the same washed out colors.

Hi Nicholaspaint, and a warm welcome to the forums!
On the Border/Chopping off issue, when the Print Dialog comes up, choose Copies & Pages, then Paper handling, look for the boxes... Use Paper size & Fit to Paper Size, use this last one selecting the right size, and uncheck Scale down only

  • Setting postcard as custom paper size in Page Setup

I am once again in trouble with paper sizes and printing. I want to print standard postcards (13.9 cm wide, 8.8 cm high). I opened a word processor, went to File -> Page Setup, set the printer to Stylus Photo R340; then -> paper size -> manage custom sizes. I set the width and height, set the margins to the printer's ones and named the size 'Postcard (landscape)'.
When I wanted to print a card, I went to Paper Handling -> Scale to fit paper size, I chose 'Postcard (landscape)', un-checked 'Scale down only' and printed. What happened? The card went straight through and my text was printed on the rollers after the card had gone. In other words the printer ignored the postcard paper size and printed as if I had put an A4 or other letter-sized sheet in. What am I doing wrong? This happens with various word-processors.

    eMac G4, 1.25 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I now have some further detailed information, which makes it all seem even more bizarre. I have now carefully tried three word processors, and I have also tried some slightly different paper size specifications:
WORD: 13.88 x 8.80 works. Size appears under 'Paper handling'.
APPLEWORKS and MELLEL: 13.88 x 8.80 does not work; size does not appear under 'Paper handling' — 'Scale to fit' has to be used, but does not do anything.
ALL THREE: 13.90 x 8.90 works. Size appears under 'Paper handling'. 14.00 x 9.00 also works correctly in all three WPs.
I should be really interested in an explanation, if anyone could supply one.

  • QR Codes generated and placed in Indesign from an Excel file

I'm in prepress for a printing company, and we have a project that I'm not sure how to handle. I have an Excel file with 40,000 names, titles, company, address, etc. AND the url for a QR code. I need to generate postcards with all the variable data in place, and use the URL info in the excel sreadsheet to generate a QR code AND place it - all in one action so I can print on the postcards the way I do all my data merge files.
Does anyone know how to do this? Is it even possible with InDesign?  I would love to hear any solutions to this problem!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Cololitho,
I'm sorry to say at the time we don't have any in-depth documentation on Tada QR! as writing a vast amount of documentation takes a long time! We will add this in time.
Since Tada QR! handles bulk QRs by a search and replace, it means that if you can find a way to get the URLs into your InDesign document Tada QR can replace them with QRs.
The formula I used in the video in excel creates a new column that puts the data into the default format for Tada QRs search pattern.
    It looks like this:
    ="<%"&A1&"%>"
Where "A1" is the name of the cell of the data you want to format.
I then drag/repeat the cell containing the formula down the length of the spreadsheet so it is repeated for each data item.
For example if you have urls:
    http://www.urlone.com
    http://www.urltwo.com
This should create a new column that looks like this
    <%http://www.urlone.com%>
If you can get the data in this format and into your InDesign document,
you should be able to select "Entire Document" and hit the "Replace All" button without having to change any of the default settings.
This will replace the all the URLs in that format with QR codes.

  • "Frame Load Interrupted" error when attempting to add to Passbook

I just got a postcard from Ford Motor Co. announcing the new Mobile Member Card.  To start, I had to read the QR code printed on the postcard using my iPhone. I was then taken to a page and directed to fill in my member number (on the postcard), e-mail and last name. I then clicked "Submit," and was taken to another page instructing me to click on the "Passbook" icon in order to add my new Mobile Member Card to my phone's Passbook. I clicked it, and got an error box: "Frame Load Interrupted." This happened to me three more times, even after I reset my Safari prefs. to "always" accept cookies.  Is there a glitch in Passbook? Is it my iPhone? Have yet to upgrade to iOS7 for fear of losing functionality of many if not most of my apps--same reason I'm not giving up my iPhone 4S for a 5S.  I am currently running the most recent update of iOS 6.1.
    Please advise.

You are using VMM 2012 R2. What version is the cluster you try to add?
I have seen odd behavior when VMM 2012 R2 is running on Windows Server 2012, and not Windows Server 2012 R2.
What's happening then, is that when VMM is using Windows native powershell modules, it is using 2012 versions instead of 2012 R2, which doesn't goes too well with your cluster if that is 2012 R2.
Can you confirm whether this is true or not in your environment?
Also, you should investigate in the logs on VMM and the cluster to see if anything is not working as expected.

  • InDesign Data Merge using password protected PDFs?

I am trying to print postcards with Data Merge and I've run into a problem. The source files for one of the images are password protected PDFs. They all use the same password, and I do know the password, but InDesign wants me to enter the password every time it processes a record.
If I'm printing 10,000 postcards, I would have to enter the password 10,000 times to make my merged file!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to enter the password once and, maybe hold down [command + option + control + kitchensink] or whatever, while clicking "OK" to apply that password to all future password dialog boxes? Is there a script I can run that could automatically enter the password?
The original source PDFs need to keep the password protection, so removing the security en masse isn't an option. Making non-secure copies of all the possible PDFs that could be used seems really unwieldy and would take up a lot of network storage resources, so I really hope there is a more elegant solution out there.
I'm using CS5 on a Mac and I would LOVE it if anyone has any suggestions at all on how to fix this. Thanks!
    -Cole Hartson

Your path needs to use a colon instead of a forward slash. Also you might need to add the name of your hard drive before Users.
The easiest way to get the correct path is to manually place one of the images, then go to the links panel, right-click on the image name and select Copy Info > Copy Platform Style Path.

  • Data Merge with InDesign doc that's 4up

I've just experimented with an InDesign document that we want to print 4 up (postcard) and we'd like our addresses to merge and print in the mailing area. When I've tried it, however, it's putting the same address on each of the four cards. Any way around this? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to split my excel address list into four equal groups, name them each a different name (addresses 1, addresses 2, etc) and then add the merge information for each doc on each on of the cards.
    Doable? or no?
    Susan

Unfortunately, the designer before me (I work at a print shop) lost the manual. I've searched the web. I've followed the instructions in InDesign help and also Excel help. I've tried numerous times to do this, changing different parameters hoping that it will succeed. As for putting only one placeholder on the page, it's not cost effective in printing to print a postcard one up on a digital printer. Tons of wasted space. FYI... data merge may be new to me, but no need to be flip about your response. I've been a designer for over 27 years, certainly no newbie.
