sniffters wrote: How do I set preferences to allow me to print a document of black alphabetics a different color?
Hello sniffters, It appears you would need to change the color of the text in the program that the text was created in.
I know of no printer setting, other than color and black and white, that can be made in the prinrer settings section..

  • Change color/font of tabs

Is there a way to change the color or font of tabs, in Forms 6i, based on certain data in that data block.
For example, I have a form with 8 tabs and 8 data blocks. Not all tabs have data. For the ones that have data I want to make a color (lets say blue) and the ones that have discipline I want to make that tab a different color (red for example).
Is there a way to do this? I looked at set_tab_page_property, but did not see anything about color of the tab. I was able to set the enabled/disabled successfully, but in this case this will not help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sandeep.

You can't change the font or color of a tab-page-"header". You can only change the text (maybe put the number of records in brackets behind the text)

  • Use Resource Editor to change colors/fonts in Logic 8?

Many years ago I used to develop for the Mac (now I'm a Mac-challenged Windows guy).
I seem to remember ResEdit, where one could change the fonts and colors of the different objects of a program. Everything like this was in a resource fork, so that the program could be localized for different countries.
Any developers out there? Would this be possible with Logic 8?

Short answer: highly doubtful for fonts, probably possible for graphics if you really have the time.
Long answer: Since OSX, Apple has been trying to get away from using resource forks, although they are still obviously supported by the OS in some areas. Applications in OSX no longer can store their entire executable code and resources in a resource fork; they instead store them as plain 'ol files located within the program's bundle.
If you look inside the logic 8 bundle (by right clicking on it in finder and then going to "show package contents"), you can see for yourself what's there. You'll see that there's only 2 font files in the bundle, and both of them are used for scoring. Logic probably is using system fonts, and to change the way that it renders them, you'd also need to alter the program binary somehow. So you'll just have to keep begging apple to re-introduce the preference for non antialiased fonts.
As for graphics, you can see that within the Contents/Resources directory, there are hundreds of familiar TIFF files used to build the Logic UI. I suppose, if you really felt so inclined, you could redo them all yourself provided you kept each one the same size. However, it should be noted that this is kind of a fool's errand, not only because of the time involved, but also because any changes you make will get blown away by software update for newer versions of Logic.

Google is using a visited color (#551a8b) that is hardly distinguishable from the unvisited color (#2200cc), so may not notice it.

  • LR3 Print Module: printing to profile - unable to change Color Matching

    Hi
I use LR3 in 32 bit mode (there is no 64bit driver for HP DesignJet 130n).
I always print to profiles. In LR2 I had to make sure that in the PrintSettings the option Color Matching was set to "Vendor Machine", because although I saved this setting, LR never remembered.
Now with LR3 the option is again set to"Color Sync" but this time it cannot be changed.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks
    Bruno

    Bob,
My problem is exactly what you say: you must find the appropriate place in the printer interface where you can disable all color management performed by the printer driver.
In OS X (10.5.) I know only of two places where I can handle Color Management: "Print Settings" and "Profile" in the LR3 Print Module.
By default LR3 sets the Print Settings "Color Matching" to "Vendor Machine" if I choose "Managed by the Printer" for the Profile.
By default LR3 sets the Print Settings "Color Matching" to "ColorSync" if I choose a custom printer/paper profile.
Where/what is "the appropriate place in the printer interface where you can disable all color management performed by the printer driver" ?

  • LaserJet 1020 won't print first document after powering up

My LaserJet 1020 won't print the first document it receives after powering-up. Print manager shows that the document is being sent, the printer makes noise like it's getting ready to print, but the document is never printed and I don't receive an error messages. If I send the document again the document prints as does every document there after.
I'm using Windows Vista Professional and the printer is connected via USB 2.0.

    Hi jnickelsen,
I understand the printer won't print multiple copies.
    Thank you for your reply.
I will be happy to help you with this.
This printer doesn't have the Mopier settings.
    What drivers are you using?
Did you download the drivers or are you using the Windows preinstalled drivers?
If you are using the Windows preinstalled drivers then I would download the latest drivers. Here is the URL for the HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.
I would download and run the Print and Scan Doctor since it might resolve the issue automatically.

  • Printer won't let me change Color Settings!!!

So I have the Envy 4502, and I CANNOT change my printer settings to print photos in grayscale OR black and white. It won't let me do ANYTHING but color. WHY is this printer so hard to effin' use? My last HP NEVER gave me this kind of trouble. It had an easy-to-use user interface and actually let me CHANGE MY SETTINGS.
What the heck am I doing wrong?!

You can update via iTunes and the computer if necessary. Also, what troubleshooting have you tried. A reset is generally something that will fix things like this. It has not affect on your data. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

Insert an empty frame with a Page Break Before and Page Break After, or use these properties to see if you can get the result you want in your current layout model.

  • Update document after style change

I have an application that allows named styles in a DefaultStyledDocument to be modified through a dialog. I would like the displayed document to be updated to reflect the changes when the dialog is closed.
I get changedUpdate DocumentEvents in the listener for the document, but I don't know what to invoke to get the changes displayed.
The document is displayed in a JTextPane. I am using Java 1.4.1_02.
    Thanks,
    Barry

I figured out what the problem was. I was using setCharacterAttributes on DefaultStyledDocument to set the style for a string, but this appears to only copy the attributes to the created leaf element - it does not hook the style into the resolveParent like it does for branch elements (this is a difference between setLogicalStyle and setCharacterAttributes). The DefaultStyledDocument class doesn't have an equivalent for setLogicalStyle at the content level, but it is possible to accomplish the same effect by creating a dummy style that has the desired style as its parent and using that in setCharacterAttributes. This appears to provide the required effect.

  • When changing a font on a particular doc it changes every print after that; how to stop that

when i change a document to print at 70% or print a document landscape it changes every document after the change....how do i make it just for a single application

Yes, page setup is global, so any change you make for one web page will be remembered. I'm not aware of any built-in way to automatically (or even quickly) revert your page setup settings back to the defaults. Maybe there's an add-on that can do it?

  • Lose color fonts during PDF creation from MS Word

I have a B&W laser printer as my default and when I save a Word document to PDF, all colored fonts are changed to black. But if I change my default printer to my inkjet, it saves with color. It is a minor annoyance to have to do this each time and then change it back.
I am saving the PDF to upload it to my website, not to print it, so need the color font.
I couldn’t find a setting in the Reader preferences to change this.
    Thanks.

    That's because there are none.
Reader doesn't create PDF's. You would want to check with a Microsoft support forum to get an answer.

  • Print  issue with 6.2.9, not able to print a document(Not greyscale)

I am now unable to print a document unless I change the text colour and print from the preview screen.( can print from other apps using my Canon Pixma 4000)
i.e. I cannot print a black text document. It runs through the printer as if it is printing but the page comes out blank.
If I change the colour of the text then it prints
Anyone know how to fix this please.
    Thanks
    Shirley

    Hi Shirley,
I think you've (probably accidently) changed a printer setting. Canon Pixmas offer you the choice of printing with only the black cartridge or only the colour, which allows you to operate the printer even when one cartridge runs out of ink.
To get to the setting, open the Print Center, select your printer from the list, then click the tools icon (labelled Configure or Utility, depending on the Print Center version).
This will open Canon's Printer Utility application. Again, select your printer in the list, then click Maintenance.
In the Maintenance window, use the popup menu at the top to select Ink Cartridge Settings.
In the Settings window, select Both black and color using the popup menu.
Close the window and quit the Printer Utility and Print Center.

  • Pages 09 poster only prints as black and white but color looks fine on the screen

The original template my poster was based upon prints in color, I can print other documents from pages in color without issue, and even if I print to pdf (which looks fine on the screen) and then open the pdf in preview and then print, it still prints black and white.
Um, and yes, it's a color printer and it's a standard 8.5x11 paper, so there's nothing too weird there.  It looks totally fine literally everywhere except paper, and I have no other issues with any other documents, even really similar ones, that I have sent through the same printer.
I sent the same pdf file to a local copy shop and it printed just fine.
    ACK!  Please help!

I can't find anything that is print to black & white or grey scale in the document rules or anywhere else, and since the printer prints it as a pages document AND a pdf as black and white--but someone else can print the same PDF file in living color on their printer without any issues, I'm stumped.
Without changing anything, I can print any other document, jpg, web page, or anything on the same printer (including the same apple template) and the colors are fine...but then this one prints in b&w.
