  • Cannot print document - No pages selected - Adobe Reader XI

Using Adobe Reader XI on a Windows 8.1 machine driving a Brother DCP-7055 printer via a network-linked Windows 7 machine to print 16-page document in Booklet format.  This worked well yesterday, but this morning, with no changes to the system, so far as I am aware, I get Cannot print document - no pages selected on both the W8.1 and W7 machines.  Same result trying to print ANY pdf from either machine.  The same pdfs print OK using alternative pdf software (Nitropdf) but I need the booklet format option. Any solutions?  Any suggestions.

That 'Protected Mode' causes so many troubles (hangs, crashes, limited functionality, ...) that I have been recommending to disable it for a long time in this forum.  I don't know if Adobe is aware of the problem; maybe someone should report it officially: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I personally have never experienced the problem; I have Protected Mode enabled on all my systems.  But there are so many reports in this forum every week that it's clear that something is wrong with it.

  • How can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2?

how can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2? I need to print a engineering print with lot of information but information is too small in letter size and I don't have a plotter.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
    ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
    SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I stop it printing 1/6 (bottom RH corner) of page 6 times instead of printing the whole page?

When I print a PDF downloaded from the internet it chops the bottom RH corner of the page and reproduces it 6x (2x across the page and 3x down the page), instead of printing the whole page, this is driving me mad, does anyone know how to stop it? I have ticked Print as Image and Multiple Pages is NOT selected....
Are you using the desktop version of Adobe Reader on a Mac computer?  What is the version of your Adobe Reader?
You posted the question on the Adobe Reader for iOS forum.  But Adobe Reader for iOS does not offer the print options like "Print as Image", "Multiple Pages".

  • When I AirPrint it only does small portions of the page. How do I get it to print the whole page?

When I AirPrint The printer only prints a portion of the page.  How do I get it to print the whole page.

It would help if you stated what printer you are using and what application you are doing the printing from. Also, what are you printing?

  • Can only print in 4x6 size from Adobe Reader - Help!

When printing letter sized docs using Adobe Reader, in the preview print box it says the size of my preview is 4 x 6.  I can't find anywhere to change this to letter size. My page scaling is set at Fit to Printable Area.  Adobe Reader thinks the output size is 4 x 6 - how do I change this?

How do I select two-sided printing now that I have Adobe Reader? I didn't know it would change my print function at all and am curious why it does. My HP printer always did this and on the old screen there was a check off box for two-sided printing. Thank you!

    Hello Mickeyps
What's the Adobe Reader version at your end? I am using Reader 11.0.06 and I do see this option. See below.

  • I can't print certain .pdf documents in Adobe Reader?

When I try to print certain documents from in Adobe Reader XI, instead of going to my printer screen, it goes to a SAVE screen?  What is happening, and how can I fix it?  I am using a Brother MFC-J460W All-in-One that I just purchased a few months ago, and just download the latest available driver for it.  I am using Windows 8.

In the Print dialog click the Advanced button and make sure that "Print to file" is not selected.

  • How do I open a web page in Adobe Reader from ipad2?  I don't see any buttons to click. I'm new user

How do I open  a web page in Adobe Reader? I got the app for ipad2, but when a page says I need a certain version of AR, I don't know what to do. I'm a new user and don't know if I have to "open" AR and it automatically reads whatever doc I have up on the web, or is it always running and any web page I'm on should show a button to click in order to open the page in AR?

If a website says that you need a certain version of Adobe Reader, it is probably attempting to detect whether or not you have the Adobe Reader browser plugin installed. This is something that only works on desktop systems where browser plugins exist. Since browser plugins don't exist on mobile, website developers should take care to present different messages and provide different options for downloading PDF's when visited by mobile browsers. I recommend contacting the website owner and requesting that they implement access for mobile devices.

  • Printing Comments (Sticky Notes) in Adobe Reader 9

    Hi,
I know this question has been asked several times before, but I haven't seen any resolution to this problem. Does anyone know if Adobe is working on a patch/ fix for this problem?
In any case, my question is this: how do I print comments (sticky notes) using Adobe Reader 9. The following are the responses I have already tried and that have not worked:
    1. Select "Document and Markups" in the print menu. I have already tried this. It makes no difference. The document still prints without the comments.
    2. Go to Edit > Preferences and choose the "Commenting" tab. There is no "Commenting" tab in Reader 9. You are probably thinking of Acrobat 9.
    3. Edit the registry key. Too risky, and since we are working on the client's machine, this is not really an option.
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Alas,
"Commenting" is not an available category in Adobe Reader's Preferences.

  • Unable to print doc as .pdf with Adobe reader XI

Unable to print doc as .pdf with Adobe reader XI in windows 7. Tried uninstalling the software and also repair with same result. When clicked on print doc the option to print as .pdf cannot be seen. It just does not appear in the printer option. Help pls.

ya downloaded the trial version of acrobat. I guess it was free earlier and never faced a problem.
Acrobat has NEVER been free. Reader (formerly called "Acrobat Reader") has always been free, but the Creation/Editing software has always had a price tag.

  • Inserting blank pages on Adobe Reader for Android

I'm a student and I use the Adobe Reader app for all my note-taking in lectures. If the lecture slides aren't released as .pdfs, I convert them before I go to my lecture because the Adobe Reader for Android app is so good for notetaking.
However, economics is full of graphs, and I have to draw these on my lecture pad because there's rarely enough space on the slide pdfs. Is it possible to insert empty pages on Adobe Reader for Android? If not, are there plans to make this a feature? I think it would make Adobe Reader for Android the only notetaking app students need.

Generally I just save the file as PDF in Powerpoint, but if I don't have access to a computer, I use the app PowerPoint2PDF on my Nexus 7.
iAnnotate has the ability to create blank pages when taking notes on a PDF, but it's much clunker than Adobe Reader on Android.

This is very annoying and we need this stopped as we have made no changes to any of the adobe files. Please advise how to do this.

I first tried the version without the deflated stream (so everything uncompressed) against the online repair tool to check/analyse it @ https://www.pdf-tools.com/osa/repair.aspx
And it says no error found, but the reader still want to save it when closing so i still had no clue at this point.
Fortunately, i finally found what was wrong with my generated PDF.
In my xref table, each object reference was not end by a full EOL, i only did put a newline char.
Now i have "carriage return" "newline" which is the full EOL and the reader is happy and close the file silently.
As suspected i did not follow correctly the specs on xref table
Now i'll go and figure what i did wrong with the deflate filter
    Thanks for your help.
