Print action's default printer

Hi,
I've configured a print action to trigger a custom smartform within CRMD_ORDER. My print action uses processing class CL_DOC_PROCESSING_CRM_ORDER, and method CRM_SRVORDER_EXEC_SMART_FORM
When I execute the action, I get a printout that reads 'PDF status page. PDF file not printed. 128 MB of memory is required to enable direct PDF printing'.
When I checked the output device (LOCM), it is using device type PDF1.
I understand that smartform doesn't allow direct PDF printing, so now I'd like to know.. where do I set the default printer? I don't want it to use LOCM.
I tried doing so in user profile - example, I put LOCL, but when I execute the print action again, the spool shows that it is using LOCM (the one with PDF1 as device type)!
Any thoughts?

and there change the PDF to text
now the action you have described to print the job ias perfect
just use t code SP01 and there in maitain the settings in spooling,
i am assuming in SM59 u have scheduled your job properly
also as u know PDF cant be printed directly
so just cahnged into the text
it will solve ur purpose

How to Set "RETAIN" provisioning action as default???

Hi All,
I would like to keep "RETAIN" provisioning action as default in ARQ while "adding" a role.
Actually, there is one configuration parameter "2045" which will make it possible. But this is ONLY applicable to the situation where a role is selected from existing assignment by clicking on "Existing Assignment" button.
As soon as a role is selected from the existing assignment automatically the provisioning actions is set to "RETAIN" (due to the config. parameter 2045).
But what I want is, whenever a user adds a role to a user in access request form, the default provisioning action should be set to "RETAIN". I could not find any suitable configuration parameter for this.
Has anyone set this before? Or does any one know how to set it?

Actually the motive behing this option is to cover the "loop hole" of ARQ application. If you notice, we can "keep" adding the same role which is already assigned with different validity dates. ARQ does not control this!
Eventually, what happens that in the back end system, the user master record is overwhelmed with the same role entry with different validity dates!
Unfortunately, application does not have any control over this. Therefore, at least making "RETAIN" as the default provisioning action, we can have a "sort" of control over this. What happens is, if I add a role which is already assigned to a user and change the validity dates, there will not be any new entry in the back end system with the same role.
Hope this will help you understand the requirement and advise me.

How to make COPY drop action the default?

Hi,
I've a working drag&drop implementation for copy and move actions.
The thing is, the by far predominant action for the application is copy, so users need to nearly always press the control button during D&D. So I'm looking for a way to make copy action the default and if the user wants to do a move, can still do this by holding shift during D&D.
Until now I couldn't find out how to do this. Do you have an idea?

Windows CS6 "save as" action always defaults to last save place instead of saving where action is intended to. Please help

Hi all,
I am using CS6 64bit on a Windows 7 Enterprise machine at work. I have used Macs here for years and never had this problem but when I create an action that is designed to "save as" (because I must change the file name) a single file into a specific directory on the network Photoshop always defaults to saving into the last place I saved instead of saving into the place where the action tells it to save to. The action contains 2 saves and then a close and only the first save brings up the dialogue so we can change the name of the file. That dialogue box always contains the last save location instead of the desired location the action is intended to save to. The second save always goes to the correct place and the close works fine.
The only time this does not happen is when Photoshop is first launched. In that case when I click the action it always tries to save into the original folder on the network where I opened the file from.
I have already unchecked the box in preferences for "save as to original folder" and do not know what else to try.
Previously on Macs I have never experienced this issue at all. I have been opening files on my network and saving them to other network directories for years over many different versions of Photoshop on a Mac and not once have I had an issue. Is it a PC thing? Is there something else I can try? I need to deploy these PC's to employees and can not do so unless this action works as we process high volumes of images and do not have the time to navigate manually to each directory we must save in.

Welcome to the club! I hate that but live with it.
When I download from the camera, Photoshop Bridge generates a folder according to the date shot, say 20141212. The images then are 20141212_1 to 20141212_xxx; whatever the final count is from the download. But let's say I rename the image or perhaps have a Photomerge of several frames. Then the connection is lost and Photoshop reverts to the last folder before the current one. So one has to watch to steer that "Save As" to the one you want, in this case 20141212. However, after that occurs, subsequent Saves will go to folder, 20141212. (because it is now the last one)
The principle I follow is that if the folder with the images is new, I am careful with "Save As" if the file I am saving is not directly connected with that folder"s numbering system.

Photosmart 6520 won't print black (AKA Here we go again!)

This is my second Photosmart 6520 and they have BOTH stopped printing in black. I have followed ALL of the troubleshooting and have the same problem. The first one I returned to where I bought it as to be blunt the people on the HP Support line were less than worthless and quite condescending even in the light of me informing them that I have worked in IT for 20 years. I cannot find my receipt as I would return this one too and get a completely different printer as this seems to be a constant problem with these printers. It is under warranty however that involves dealing with the incompetent HP Phone people and getting my intelligence insulted again. If someone on here from HP can help online without me having to resort to the dreaded phone that would be great.

I can't believe this! I create a case and you close it and tell me to go to the same exact place to open a case! This is intolerable!

How to make a default value by using dynamic actions

I am aware I can set default values for new infotype, but I need to set default value for same infotype, let me explain the scenario.
Currently employee is on one pension scheme which is called NE1 and now we are moving this employee to CRESP Pension Scheme.
When employee is in NE1, his IT0071 has got a opt in field with a flag on, when the same employee is moved from NE1 pension scheme to CRESP Pension scheme, his new IT0071 record should have the same opt in field with a flag on, I want it to set this flag automatically using dynamic action. I dont want to update this field manually, while moving from NE1 to CRESP.
Currently the below dynamic action is coded when employees are being moved form NE1 to CRESP, but now they will have a opt in flag which should appear automatically, What needs to be done to make this happen?
Please let me know if I set default value for the Opt in field for the same infotype.

Append action to a Lookup Multivalued Field as Default when Merging ?

Hello Experts
I have the following Issue.
We are using the MDM Data Manager to do some cleansing (Matching Mode of the Data Manager) and we have a Field thas is defined as "Lookup [Flat]" and "Multivalued: Yes".
The issue is the following. When merging two records we want that the values of the Lookup Multivalued Field are appended always. To append the values we have to right-click the especific cell and select "append"
Here is an example:
BEFORE
Item A | Item B
1;2 | 3;4
AFTER
Item A
1;2;3;4
So, my question is... Is there any way to set the APPEND action as Default when we double click that cell? Is getting very anyoing and not efficient to always be doing right-click - Append.

Hi Mariano,
As rightly mentioned by the above posts that,the appending of the values in the merged records cannot be automated.The reason being :
- The merge functionality itself in MDM under the MDM Data manager is mostly suppose to be a manual process as Merging of master records cannot be done by anyone,not even just by the master data expert.
- Merging two duplicate master data in to one is a function to be undertaken only under the supervision and permission of a business expert.
- MDM may identify two similar records as Duplicates as per the set rules and strategy ,but it does not have an inteligence of itself to confirm the same that the two records are duplicates in the real sense or not.
- Besides sometimes even known duplicates may not be required to be merged but just identified.
- So in which ever case,the merging will be manual and will require human intervention.
- Besides MDM Tool does not support this function of automating the appending functionlity.

Delete Set Default Action

Would be nice to see a feature introduced in the preferences to set the default action of the delete button, I personally would like it permanently set to "Delete from Disk" and not "Remove"

Defaulting dates in IT00041

Hi All,
I have a requirement to default Original Hire date and PTO date in New hire action and default Original hire date, PTO date and Termination date in Termination action. again default Original hire data, PTO, Termination date, Rehire date in Rehire action. where as Original hire data and PTO date should be same.
I was able to config Original Hire date and PTO date to default as the date of EE hire. Can any one help me out with Other two actions. I am getting Original hire data and PTO date in all the actions. How to get other dates. Here date means actual date not Date type.

Hi Sairam,
For this, you will have to write a small routine in a program and then call it in the dynamic action. Consult your technical team on this. Get them to write a routine which would Check the conditions and then pass value to field RP50D-FIELD1. You would then call the routine and default the fields as shown below:
Generally the condition would be like this...
P0008-BEGDA=P0007-BEGDA.
If SY-SUBRC = 0.
RP50D-FIELD1='X'.
INFTY     SUBTY     FNAME     OPERA     SEQNO     KENNZ     VINFO

Here, ZPROGRAM is the name of the program and ZDATECOMPARE is the routine which would contain the logic to populate field RP50D-FIELD1 with concatenated value.
Just for clarification, why do you need to write a Dynamic action for defaulting hours?? Standard SAP does it.....

Is there a way to make a radio button when form opens?
for e.g. when we open key flexfield value sets form, key flexfield radio button is default. i want to do when i open the form value set button is defaultly checked.

Find the name of the field for that radio button.
Write a when-new-form-instance personalization.
Make the action type =property
And make the action as default value/initial value = the value corresponding to the default you want.

CS5 action shortcut keys not working in Lion

I've just reinstalled CS5 on my new mac which is running Lion - all seems to be running smoothly so far, but when I use the F keys which have assigned actions, it defaults to the OS defined action for that key (eg: F1 adjusts the monitor brightness etc).
My old mac used a generic keyboard as my Mac one died a painful soft-drink related death, so this may not be specific to Lion - is there a way for Photoshop to override the base action for that key? I've tried combinations of modifier keys with the function key with no success. Any ideas?
