But when i  was print alv in 'HE' log on in format "X_65_200" FROM RIGHT TO LEFT , it is small  writing and the margins

  • Need advice on printing - Illustrator, photoshop, indesign all printing wonky and I'm not savvy enou

    Hi all, I run a small greeting card shop on Etsy (4four.etsy.com) and currently all my designs are A1 (3.5" x 4.75") which I design in Illustrator, export as PDF, and print using Photoshop on my Epson R1900. Then I use the trim marks to cut each card down in size. two cards on a page means 13 cuts per page for two finished cards.
    The business has been taking off recently and I'm starting to try and scale up to be able to handle large volume Wholesale business. I decided that the small A1 size was too labor intensive and I should size my designs up to A2 (4.25" x 5.5").
    After laying out an old design in a new A2 sized template in Illustrator I'm having some printing problems. I need to print full bleed for about 33% of my designs, but when I print the image isn't landing properly. Out of Illustrator the image is shifted to the right by 3/32" but lands just fine on the 5.5" mark.
    here's an imgur Gallery of the Illustrator prints: http://imgur.com/a/P1HtW
    I decided to try and lay out a 2-up document in InDesign but the result was very strange indeed. Both the images landed just fine at the 5.5" mark but were zoomed out in a strange way. The same thing happened in Photoshop.
    Here's an imgur gallery of the ID and PS attempts: http://imgur.com/a/FzYQ2
    I suppose I could just move my design images to the left 3/32" in Illustrator and output that way (that's the only way this has worked so far) but that seems like a jury rigged workaround instead of solving the actual problem.
    Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help and not mocking me for being rather amateur in this.

    Focus on getting 1-up centered on an 8.5x11 page setup.  Bleed or no bleed, add all of your trims and scores.  Save as PDF and use that.  Center the 4.25" x 5.5" inside a letter sized document.  For volume work, you should be getting these printed offset and professionally on decent paper.  Consider working with a local printer who you can easily talk to and get feedback on how to setup your files.

  • Margin settings not holding on printed page and are jagged

    A few days ago, on occasion only, printer began issuing paper jam message when printed page was all but a probably 1/8" already out.  Just touching paper really brought the page out the rest of the way.
    I did pull out the two-sided paper accessory to look for any paper, but there is no paper jam that I can see.
    Also, in the midst of printing sometimes it made a loud grinding (I guess) sound, but kept on printing and sent the page out completely.
    Then I began to notice the left margin might slope inward as I look down the page or it may be different from one Word page to another and a little blurring occurs in a word here and there.
    Finally, upon printing Excel pages I see a different left margin about what I consider to be every 2 lines.  This, of course, affects the right margin in the same manor, and the vertical cell lines also vary according to the variance of the left margin.
    The HP software tells me there are no updates for me to download.  However, I don't know that it has ever mentioned any.  I haven't seen this precise issue listed.

    Yay!  Smooth margins!  At first I mistakenly thought (without looking) the cord would not reach an outlet; so I downloaded the HP Scan and Print Doctor.  It told me there was a newer driver.  I admit I eventually found myself at a point where it wanted me to "install" as if the printer was being newly associated with my computer.  I paused and thought because I hadn't expected a new driver to want me to do a complete re-install.   I decided I should just try printing again, and magically it gave me perfect alignment.  So I stopped right there.  I had used the  recommended assisted download.  Perhaps I should have switched to the plain download.  While I'm not sure exactly what happened, it appears to be nicely fixed.
    I thank you very much!  I'd not have figured that out on my own.

    You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor.  This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow.  What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
    Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer.  The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
    I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".
    Have you read the User Manual chapter on printing?
    Printing Your Images
    There is also a good appendix on calibration:

  • About printer resolution and paper size

    I need information about how to use the class PrinterResolution and his relation width paper size.
    When i provide a cross a feed resolution to this class bigger values results in low resolutions: why? i dont now the DPI resolution meaning.
    Please somme code example about this theme...Thanks a lot...

    Amy,
    1. I just took a picture today, and when I look in Image>resize>image size the dimensions are as follows:
    W=2288px H=1712px W=31.778" H=23.778" @72px/in. resolution
    When I change resolution to 325 px/in., W=7.04" H=5.268"
    As the resolution is increased, the dimensions decrease. This is what is called an inverse relation.
    Why did I change to 325px/in? Because for printing it is desirable to have a resolution of 240-300 px/in, or so. Also, note that this resolution gives me almost a perfect 5x7 size format, and one can crop off the excess readily. If one desires 4x6 size, one can crop to that dimension.
    2. I enhance the pictures next, leaving sharpening for the last step
    3. I save primarily in PSD and/or JPEG. Both PSD and TIFF allow one to retain layers, are lossless, and thus one avoids degradation with sequential editing. JPEG is is a compression format which conserves disk space (in comparison to PSD and TIFF), and is most likely required for your e-mail and your photo finisher. I save some of the JPEG files. I usually elect baseline optimized, and the JPEG allows me to elect quality 8, which is good for my purpose and results in a manageable file size.
    4. Right after I download my picture files from the camera, I burn them to a CD (i.e. before I do anything else), and right after I finish the final edits I burn them to CD as well. This is my "film", if you will. If the computer fails or if I should accidentally delete a file from disk, I still have it available.
    I am sure that others will post, but that is my current work flow.

  • How to print legal and letter pages from one pdf on a dual paper printer?

    Hello,
    How do I print one pdf which includes both legal and letter sized pages on the respective sized paper?
    I purchased Brothers' HL-5470DWT dual paper printer for this specific task. The printer is configured to recognize the second tray (although the paper size is undetermined...) and the print setting includes setting the "Scaling" to "Fit to Paper Size".
    Of course, the box is checked for "Choose paper source for pdf page size".
    I should be able to configure my print settings and the printer should determine whether to print on legal or letter sized paper. I am using Windows XP sp3 and Adobe Reader 9.5 because I learned that Adobe Reader X was not compatible with dual paper printers. Brother's help desk referred me to Adobe...  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Have you attempted without including the option "Fit to Paper Size"; set scaling to None.

  • Can we set Print Quality and Page 'Fit in to paper' thrue AS

    Hi All,
    while taking Movieclip printout thru actionscipt, whatever text i used inside the Movieclip is get blurred. Moreover the print is not fit into the paper size (A4 size used).
    Is there any setting available to change resolution while its get convert to bitmap and also is there any option to set "fit in to the paper size"
    Here i am using this...
    import flash.display.BitmapData;
    var newBitmap:BitmapData = new BitmapData(myMC._width, myMC._height);
    var tempMC:MovieClip = this;
    var printFC:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
    newBitmap.draw(myMC);
    tempMC.createEmptyMovieClip("printMC", 1);
    printMC.attachBitmap(newBitmap, 1);
    printFC.start();
    printFC.addPage(printMC, null, {printAsBitmap:true});
    printFC.send();

    I found the solution form a website !!!
    I missed out to mention the parameter while attaching bitmap.
    The correct code is...
    printMC.attachBitmap(newBitmap, 1, "auto", true);
    "auto" is for pixelSnapping
    true is for smoothing
    Thanks,

  • I customize my paper size and print size and am then viewing a photo on my screen. I print it out and it chops off about 5% of all edges of my original photo on the screen. Why does it do that? It is driving me crazy. I use an Epson Photo 2200 printer.

    What print and paper sizes are you using?  Are you trying to print a borderless print?  Does your printer support borderless for that particular size?  Are you printing to the custom stock size or to a larger stock size?

  • Printing half on and half off the paper

    We purchased the HP Photosmart 6510 yesterday.  While the unit will print, it is printing the image half on the page and half off the page on 5x7 paper.  How do we get it to consistently print to the center of the sheet so that I am not wasting any more paper?
    The 4x6 paper will not print at all- it will only jam and destroy the paper.
    Paper type: invitation weight matte paper being fed from the photo tray.  Ironically, the 3.5 x 5 images all printed perfectly.
    Anyone?  Help!

    Hi - A couple of things to check.  First, make sure that the paper size in both the printer driver (File, Print, Preferences) and the app you're printing from are both set to the appropriate paper size.  I'm assuming that is the case if it prints fine on 3.5x5, but can't hurt to double check.  Second, sometimes there can be an accumulation of dust on the rollers that can cause the pick rollers to slip initially.  Try cleaning those by following the steps in this document.  This isn't normal for a new printer, but worth a try.
    Hope that helps.

  • When printing a simple single photo, my picture looks fine until I press the print button, then the view of what it is going to print looks like it has zoomed in and cuts off part of my original picture.  This does this with every picture I try to print.

    When I press print, it looks like it crops or zooms my original pictures and cuts it off, on the print view. Therefore it only prints a zoomed in partial picture?  Anyone else have this problem?

    This usually occurs because you're printing a photo in an Aspect Ratio different from the actual shot. The Aspect Ratio is the shape of the photo, expressed as the length x breadth.
    So, if you have - for instance - a 4:3 shot and try print that at  4:6 you will have issues.

  • I am using lion with a HP laser 1320 and a Epson R200. When I try to print two A5 pages onto A4 paper in booklet form the pages are scaled down. How do I cancel the scale down in the printer dialogue boxes.

    The printer drivers are supplied by Apple and if I go to the HP site for their drivers they refer me back to Apple saying they supply the drivers for the Epson R200 and the HP laser 1320.

    Well, MS Word does something like this automatically - if you tell it to start a new section on an odd page, and if the section before it ends on an odd page, it will "skip" the even page number in between - and when it prints, it automatically spits out a blank page in between them, so that on a two-sided printer, the odd pages all print on the front of the paper (which is the right-facing sheet when they are put in a binder or book).
    InDesign shows the pages like this on the spreads (odd page numbers always on the right), so it is aware of the desired orientation, and I'd think it would provide a mechanism to ensure that they print out this way as well...
